Stumbles onto this place after a long day of travel! The building can be deceiving but when you walk into Sakura, what a beautiful sight. First, the people were delightful. Ordering was easy and the food came out so quick! Of course, it's an all you can eat so we ordered a variety of things. All delicious! My favorite was the sashimi, which was so fresh. It was only 30.99 per person for dinner and well worth the price! Try it! We're considering going back for lunch!

Dinner with ayce apps, teriyaki, rice, noodles, udon, sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Decent selection and quality for $30.99. Sign on door shows new name: makoto. Would definitely recommend. Five stars. Gold roll and one below it with tuna were my 2 favorite rolls. The teriyaki salmon was excellent along with salmon roe sashimi. Salmon skin hand roll was also great. Will definitely be back.

This place is tucked away at the end of a strip mall with Target. There's plenty of parking. At lunchtime it's $19.99 all you can eat (in 2 hours). Lots of booths for parties of 4-6 and some table that can be pushed together to accommodate larger groups. The dining area is clean with numerous TVs to watch while you eat. Xia was our server. He took great care of us while we dined! It was fairly busy (maybe 75% full) but the service and food were top notch! My favorites were the Las Vegas and Out of Control rolls. Going to try the udon and soba when I return!

OMG what an experience!!! Came for my daughters birthday, and we all really enjoyed!!! everything came out quickly because it was a monday at 430pm. We really enjoyed all the rolls, and flavors!! Quiet cozy restaurant, with big tables for large parties!!

This was our first time visiting previously called SAKURA Sushi, now MAKOTO Sushi the all-you-can-eat restaurant is very reasonable price, food was good and the restaurant was very nice the painting on the wall were very beautiful and everyone was friendly, but the most important thing was the service and servers were amazingly efficient we never had to for a waitress they were on top of it. Been a while since I had last come here. This then we ordered a lot, it's definitely a great value for the price. Service is fast and they don't really delay things and keep checking in on you. The sushi this time, I felt in some of the rolls the portions were slightly lesser or thinner cuts. But however considering the value , it's definitely worth the price. Towards the end I even tried their ice cream. The green tea is an interesting flavor. First time trying, and I really liked it. The pork cutlets is pretty good as well. In terms of the sushi quality, id have given it a lower rating. But purely in terms of value for money I gave it full 5/5. But in the past I remember the sushi quality being better. Hope it was a one of experience

My husband and I were craving sushi so we decided to check this place out on a Sunday. Come hungry! The menu is great- they had everything from a wide variety of tempura, salad, sashimi, hand rolls, specialty rolls, ice cream. My favorites were the miso soup, crab tempura, and the specialty rolls. You can go wrong with any of the orders. Our orders came out fresh and in good timing. Our waitress was good and kept our orders coming. I'd come back again.

A new family favorite. I have come across Sakura sushi many times while looking for places to dine at in our area but I never knew they had AYCE! The reviews were promising so we tried it, multiple times now. The restaurant is big so it can accommodate a good number of diners at the same time. Service is attentive and food does come out pretty quickly, even when they are busy. We've been there only on weekends so far and only had to wait a bit for our sushi rolls once. We also got seated immediately in all 4 times that we have been there. I do not eat raw sushi (my husband does) so anywhere we go, we order mostly cooked and maybe 1-2 raw rolls. They had multiple great tasting cooked rolls and my husband enjoyed a couple of nigiris and raw fish rolls. They have a lot of appetizers, salads, noodle dishes, rice and soups to choose from. Ambience is average with tvs and it's not too loud even when the restaurant is busy. It's about $30 per person which is a great deal with all the good food you can get. We have become regulars here.

This place is a gem! It's hard to find all you can eat sushi in the valley, even more so delicious all you can eat sushi. I am so glad I came across this place. They don't devein the shrimp tempura (gross)! I did not notice until after I took a bite. Basically had me eat shrimp poop and didn't want to give me a discount for their unhygienic food. Do not recommend ever. Put a minus $10 on tip for overpriced unhygienic food! Feel like I need to rinse my mouth out with bleach with this place leaving such a bad taste in my mouth. Then on top of that the SOB's charged the $10 extra that I put the minus of. This company is fucking crooks!!!! read more

I took my granddaughter for a Sushi dinner. We chose an All You Can Eat Sushi restaurant. We arrived at 5pm and we were sat promptly. Unfortunately, they sat us at the first table next to the door. Every time someone opened the door a blast of cold air hit us. The restaurant is set up nicely with booths and a Sushi bar on the East side. Our drink orders were taken and delivered. Like a normal Sushi restaurant you are given a check sheet to order whatever Sushi that was on the menu. Sushi is made to order. The Miso Soup, Seaweed salad and all the Sushi we ordered was good. Unfortunately, we had about 15 pieces of roll left over. They charged us $5.00 for the uneaten roll ( which we took home). Overall, our cost was $80. 2 drinks, Food Charge, Tax and Tip. I would recommend this restaurant. I would have given more stars but the food charge irked me because what if I didn't like the food. Would I be charged? read more

Very good for a new place! Servers are very nice and accommodating. The place is clean and I think the food comes to our table fairly quickly. I love the variety of choices and have yet to try so much more! The apps are tasty - cheese wantons, gyozas, tempura (veggies and shrimp), edamame... You know the usual. I really liked the pork cutlet. I'd order that again a few times. It's crispy and not overcooked, and has a tasty sauce it lies on. The miso soup is good and hot. Sushi is good for the place and understandable with an AYCE place. Loved the rainbow and the volcano roll. CA roll is always a go to. It's nice to end the meal with ice cream. They have vanilla, green tea, and butter pecan. The way you order is by how many pieces you want. Oh and an important tip since it's one of the house rules - if you're going to do AYCE, your whole table has to do it too. It's too be fair. You can't just have someone order just a bento and then someone else order the AYCE lunch. It's got to be fair and honest, you know? For 3 of us, we paid around $64 + tip. I've eaten here a couple of times, including once as takeout, which I remember being somewhat unimpressive but cannot recall what exactly I had. That said, my most recent experience was very good. I had a few sushi rolls as well as some gyoza which were excellent. On top of that, the pricing was pretty reasonable for a good variety and quality sushi. read more

It was frustrating to go in and sit at a table and wait over an hour for our food before it even got really busy. All the tables who came in after us received their food before us (we had 2 adults and 1 kid). Normally I don't mind waits but this was bad and when we said something (at an hour) they hadn't started making our food yet. We ask about 10 min later and they said they are going to start it then. We waited 10 more min and finally got our food. Food was ok, pretty much what you expect from an all you can eat place. But because we had to wait well past a normal amount of time we won't go back. read more

It was clean, service was quick and friendly. The rice they use for the sushi was not what you are supposed to use to make sushi. The rice is the cheapest quality and it also lacks moisture. The rice makes the sushi! Sushi is supposed to be made with Japanese Short Grain Glutinous Rice. This place is using the cheapest, low quality rice. read more

The inside is very pretty. Love the oriental decor. The staff was very friendly and service was great! The food was very delicious--especially the sushi rolls. The salmon was fresh and buttery. Delish! There are a lot of food choices and I like that they offer 1 piece at a time to order so we could try so many things. Tastes good, but my rolls were falling apart and it seems they try to avoid giving you a good amount of actual fish. I ordered a rainbow roll and 4 out of the 8 pieces were fully topped with avocado opposed to fish. Still like this place but this time they kind of skimped on the fish and meat in the teriyaki steak plate. read more

My husband and I went here on a date tonight. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. We got tempura udon, chicken Fried rice, miso soup, yakitori(chicken skewer) crab, shrimp and tuna nigiri, salmon tuna, mackerel, and red snapper sashimi, eel cucumber rolls, crab rolls, and the tuna mango rolls along with an assortment of tempura and gyoza. Everything was so good. My favorite was the eel cucumber roll, the crab nigiri and the yakitori. I however do not recommend the chicken Fried rice, dry with no flavor. We went for dinner so it was $27 each for all you can eat and the sodas were $3 or so. Service was quick. We got all of our order quickly. Our waiter was not super friendly but i dont care, he was nice enough and efficient. We want to come back and bring our family and friends. read more

Some of the freshest sushi I've EVER had! AYCE was cheap and got full. The yellowtail was the best I've ever had. Terrific flavor and melted in my mouth. Extremely pleasant staff. I will definitely be back when I'm in town. This is a must go if in Mesa and looking for sushi. read more

All three appetizers were in a paper bag together and the sauces were on the side. Favorites in order would be: chicken dumpling is the best, then the crab Rangoon then the spring rolls. The ramen bowls had very good flavor. The miso broth worked really well with the seafood and the toppings and wasn't thin or watery. The seafood mix was imitation crab, shrimps, and muscles and we found a seasoned egg hiding in the broth which was a nice "free" surprise. The toppings were bamboo shoots, corn, green onions and bean sprouts as well as sesame seeds. All in all, a good restaurant with a solid 4 star take out experience. We will be retuning when we want a quick ramen fix in the area. Next time, we will try the spicy beef ramen with miso broth.

I ordered a sushi meal through Door Dash, the overall quality was adequate. The miso soup and vegetable tempura was good, but it's hard to screw up these items. The sushi, on the other hand, was about the quality I'd expect from grocery store sushi. The rice did not have the typical sweet vinegar flavour that is the hallmark of sushi (i.e. "sweet vinegar rice".) The eel, yellow tail, tamago, mackerel, salmon and red snappper were good, the tofu skin was meh. The sakura roll was also mediocre, but the biggest disappointment was the spicy tuna roll. First of all, I ordered a hand roll and it came as a standard sushi roll, secondly it was not spicy and didn't taste like or have the texture of tuna. That was probably just an error, but a fairly significant one. Based on this, I won't be wasting time or money on this restaurant again. read more

The food was good, but the service was terrible. The waitress who took care of our table of 8 was not attentive. We have to called her many times before she came over. Also she added 18% gratuity on our bill without telling us. Unfortunately i didn't get her name. She also told me to pay at her service station instead of the front desk. I showed up with my entire 6th grade for a lunch field trip for our Japanese class. There were 33 of us in total and the staff handled us amazingly! It was a great trip to let the students taste many different dishes and experience new foods for many. I was stunned at the portion size and quality for the price! And EXCELLENT value! But it's probably the best all you can eat sushi place I've been to in a long time, it's great sense if you're hungry friends and guests you don't want to drop 500 this is the place for you!
