Fatty tuna nigiri, salmon roll, and spicy salmon roll
Eva Y.

3.5 stars rounded to 4. Stopped by here earlier today for takeout after getting a pedicure next door. Got to try out a couple simple maki rolls (a regular salmon roll and spicy salmon roll), and an order of fatty tuna nigiri. Everything tasted pretty good, especially the fatty tuna which was very fresh today and buttery. The sushi rice however was a bit on the hard and dry side. I would describe the texture as something similar to leftover refrigerated rice that was thawed out for an hour at room temperature, but otherwise solid lunch!

Dine-in experience was amazing! Relaxed and chill atmosphere with exquisite quality sushi and Chinese food. A go-to place for a great dinner and great vibes. I love how creative and updated their menu is. For starters, the torched salmon mini volcanos is a must try for salmon lovers! I love the hint of torched taste on the fresh fish, super great combination and the flavors really burst in your mouth. The Naruto appetizer is also a great starter for those who don't like raw fish! This is basically a California roll with no rice. Super refreshing bite! The crab Rangoon appetizer is huge in portion size! It was just two of us and there were so many pieces. They were so crispy and delicious! Definitely can not go wrong with these! For the main entrees, the Salmon punch bowl was huge! Lots of salmon and a variety of cuts of the fish. I normally order this for delivery and they give me a free miso soup and house salad with it, but they didn't give me these when I dined in. Not sure what was going on there but we ordered so much food I didn't realize that. The mango tree sushi burrito I got it without mango and just extra other stuff. I really enjoy this it's like a big salmon avocado roll! Overall I love their innovative menu, fresh and quality sushi, and great ambiance in the restaurant. Service was quick and super friendly people. Definitely a place where you can be laid back and relax while having high end food.

I've been coming here for 9+ years and still loving the food and service. Mark and his staff continue making beautiful delicious fresh sushi.

7 dollar tempura app

we got delivery and didn't go with our usual sushi corner or ocean sushi. Flavors weren't bad, portions are really small for the money, Below is a picture of the tempura app which was two small pieces of brocolli, three small pieces of squash and a couple carrot slices, my guess is that it just wasn't finished, but it was delivery so it was what it was, other portions were pretty small as well but this one obviously would not have passed muster if we were actually dining in. The avocado salad was pretty good, but in an area with a ton of sushi places around, probably back to the usuals.

We have been coming here for years and I just realized I never wrote a yelp review! This place is so good, so fresh and clean. I always get the sakura martini, so refreshing! Reo, the bartender, loves to make up drinks for the hubby and he has never been disappointed. In the past, we have probably tried almost everything on the menu. Favorites are: Spicy Edamame Gyozas any sushi or maki seaweed salad miso soup is the best I have ever tasted! They were delivery/pick up only during the height of the pandemic. Recently they were able to open their bar seating, up to ten customers. They are working on opening the rest of the dining room as well. I do remember in past there were jazz bands that would play some nights. Which were good. All servers and owners are awesome. Even the sweet ladies that come to clean up the table and refill the waters. They recognize us on the streets and say hi! Last Friday we made it in for the first time in over a year. We started with the seaweed salad and scallion pie. Both were super yummy. Next, we had a special from the Sushi chef, think it was a tuna - lol so good! And then we shared the party boat for two, which is never a disappointment! We ended the night with a super creamy luscious creme brulee with the perfect sugar crust. Happy to have them in our town and within walking distance from home! Cya soon Sakura!

At this time, only bar seating is open (about 10 seats). They will open sit-down dining soon, but they do not know when. We got the miso soup, Singapore noodles, cucumber sashimi, dragon maki and fire on fish maki. Everything was fresh and great quality. The fire on fish had a nice spicy kick to it. Service was great and they cleared up our dishes when we finished. I've got take-out sushi in the past from Sakura Organic, and it was the same great quality as eating it at the restaurant. There were a good number of people coming in for take-out throughout the night. I definitely recommend Sakura Organic if you're looking for good sushi in the area.

Edamame

The quality on the food has gone way down. Ordered tonight and received mostly old/rotten edamame. Only a handful were green. Never ordering here again.

For mains, the fried rice was spot-on (flavorful and not greasy at all), and the torched tuna with truffle butter sauce was absolutely divine--such a creative fusion twist! The sushi options looked incredible too, and everything came out hot and beautifully presented. Portions are generous, and the quality really stands out compared to other places nearby. My only complaint is the little size for the samosa size. For our mains we got the short rib and the white butter chicken. The butter chicken could've used a bit more chicken for the price and was frankly a bit tough. The sauce was great. The short rib was flavorful and packed the perfect punch. Dipping the garlic naan in both sauces was my fav part!! Overall an ok experience. I want to give the restaurant grace because it was very packed but service was poor. I think we had 4 different staff members help us total which probably led to lots of miscommunication.

Two weekend visits to this relatively new subterranean Sichuan eatery in Harvard Square (Eliot…read moreStreet) with a very inviting interior and some VERY spicy dishes. -- Vegetarian Cold Noodle: Firm, peanut buttery, satisfying. Not spicy. Not too saucy, so you can "feel" the noodle, but I would have liked more vegetables. -- Yibin Fiery Noodles: Warm and similarly al dente, these were manageably spicy. Meat crumble, seeds or nuts, scallions, and heat. -- Red and Green Pepper Chicken: Batterless but crisp, tender, and not boneless. Relentlessly spicy from several heat sources and kaleidoscopically delicious. The closest comparison is dry hot chicken that also goes by a few other names, but this was better. Elite, and the best thing I ate in all of 2025, but sadly no longer on the menu. -- Stone Pot Tofu: Billed as Ma Po Tofu sizzling in a stone pot, but no sizzle and no stone pot. Identified as very spicy but minimally spicy and more numbing (more "ma" than "la"). I enjoyed the overall flavor (heavily seasoned) and the saltiness of the fermented black beans. Despite some of the menu discrepancies, this was a really good version for my tastes. Near-elite. -- Green Beans With Eggplant: Strong flavor, not too hot spicewise, but volcanically hot temperaturewise. Decent. -- Chicken and Clams: Black bean flavor, whole peppercorns, spicy but loaded with flavor beyond the spice. A deceptively huge and quite delicious. Elite. -- Beef Spring Rolls: Not my choice. Crisp, beefy, and chili sauce on the side added contrast. Solid, but boring, more typical of an Americanized offering, and a waste of an opportunity given Too Hot's killer menu. -- Pork Belly with Fermented Beans: Superb rendition, not drastically different from twice cooked pork, but much more flavor and giant pieces. Near-elite to Elite. -- Shrimp in Dry Hot Pot: Tons of dry rub spiciness, giant shrimp, chopped vegetables, and crinkle cut potatoes. Near-elite. -- Brussels Sprouts w/Shallots: More subtle flavors here but hardly bland. Fried shallots had sort of an onion ringy presence in miniature. Cooked just right. Outstanding overall experience, with the best dish on the first visit and almost all winners on the second. Kudos to the friendly and helpful service, including a server suggestion to switch an item after noticing we ordered two very similar items. Eager to return often and try even more of the menu.

Overall, a solid restaurant and option for Chinese food in Harvard Square.

I arrived here via uber and decided to have dinner at the hotel's main restaurant, the Lakeside Tavern. This Yelp review is for the restaurant only and not the hotel. I arrived here around 9:30pm. I opted to get dinner here first before checking into the hotel for the night. The service that night I was here was crazy slow. They had loud live band music and the vibe here was generally an older crowd on a Thursday evening in May 2025. I found a seat next to the bar near the kitchen and after 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take my order, I walked to the cash register and waited for someone to arrive. I ended up getting one of their signature meals for the evening and that was that. Since it was close to 10pm that evening, the music was winding down. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for my food to arrive. It came in a takeout container with a plastic bag. I would have gotten something at Boston, Logan International Airport, but it was after 8 PM when I arrived and nothing in the terminal was open for me. With that said, I was happy that the Lakeside Tavern was open for anybody and everybody who was wanting to be there. For lunch, dinner, or just hang out and listen to live music with adult beverages. For me, though, I just need dinner after a long day of travel to Boston from Honolulu. I was glad that they were until 10 PM, otherwise I would have took an Uber to see what was around at the time near the hotel that serve food. The overall experience at the lakeside Tavern here in Wakefield, Massachusetts was typically OK, although I was starving and wanted quicker service that night. While the service was very slow, it was nice to partake in the live music that night. The ambiance was chill and friendly. The service was friendly and welcoming too. For the most part though, the experience here was pretty good and most likely will come back again get my troubles permit me to do so. I'll try to get here as quick as I can, but then again their travel is normally the same as it was 10 years ago. The restaurant itself was very clean, although it was dark enough to wear I can't see much. I just was glad that this restaurant at the hotel I was staying at for the night was open and grateful that they were still serving food while I was there. If you decide to stay at this hotel, consider dining in the Lakeside tavern because it is basically on property. You don't need to go elsewhere for your meals if you don't need to. If you're lazy like me, this restaurant is your best bet if you're staying at the hotel. Definitely recommended if you are one of those people who just don't wanna leave the hotel for some reason if you're staying here at the Lakeside inn in Wakefield Massachusetts. The Lakeside Tavern is located inside the Lakeside Inn in Wakefield, Massachusetts. As soon as you enter the lobby, the entrance to the restaurant is on your left. Can't miss it. It is physically located at 595 North Avenue in Wakefield. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a generous and huge parking lot for anybody and everybody who wishes to come here to stay or dine. Or both. Please share the parking spaces with a few other commercial retailers in the vicinity. There is a bank nearby, if you need cash. There is actually public transportation service to and from the hotel into Boston. I did not know this until my most recent trip here and decided to save a little bit of money and ride the local bus service into downtown Boston from Wakefield. It was pretty cool. Don't recommend it if you are traveling in the evening and don't know where you are if you are a tourist. So yes, there is public transportation options to and from the hotel, and they will depend on your original destination, whether it is the Amtrak station or Boston Logan international airport in Boston. And with that said, they have a limited menu, so be prepared for anything they have. The prices here were decent for any restaurant in the area. But if you're desperate and hungry, it's kind of worth it, especially when you're staying at the hotel for the night and you're starving. Which is what my situation was at the time. It was a quick stop for dinner that ended up being something other than quick. But if you like the loud live music to decompress after a nice day of traveling or a hard day at the office, consider coming to the lakeside Tavern for a good meal and to decompress. I'm sure they have alcohol service here, but I did not want to drink so late at night. 3.5 stars for the overall experience, mostly for the slower than normal service. But it is pretty good 5.0 stars for the location, because I was staying here. Support local! C+
