I absolutely love how I can get such yummy udon in the burbs, it's so flavorful and the spicy is actually spicy. I will be coming back

As a major udon lover, There were some definite highlights, but also room for improvement. The Udon Noodles: The noodles were a bit overcooked and broke apart too easily, lacking that firm, chewy texture you expect from good udon. The Soup Base: excellent! The mushroom flavor was rich and strong. Personally, I really liked it, though it is potent enough that it might depend on your individual taste. Fried Tofu: Given the price point of the udon, I expected a better quality version of fried tofu. Shrimp Tempura: This was just okay--nothing spectacular. Tempura Sauce: I really liked it because it tasted distinctively homemade rather than store-bought.

Love that there's a place near me where i can get delicious udon and not have to drive down to seaport or porter square to get me some yume. And what's even better is that the menu here has more broth variety as well. Today, i tried the niku udon, paiten shoyu udon, paitan miso udon and the dandan udon. Honestly, all were so delicious. Can't wait to come back for more.

I was looking for an udon place closer to home when I don't want to drive into Cambridge for Yume but I haven't found it yet. I ordered the: -Niku Udon: the meat was so so dry and tasted off. The broth had no depth to it, tasted exactly like the premade broths from the udon kits at Hmart. I expected some richness from the broth. The only upside to this dish was the noodles. -Tori Paitan Spicy Miso Udon: the broth had more flavor and depth than the niku udon. Again, in this dish the meat was also dry. A little too heavy handed on the chili oil which coated your mouth as you ate it. Service: You order by yourself using a QR code. Not a fan of the added transaction fee, I'd rather order the regular way. The store was so quiet and the waitresses were standing around, why not just make the experience more personal?

We got the Tori Paitan Spicy Miso Udon with chicken and the Cold Niku Bukkake Udon. Both were very good, but for us the hot and spicy miso was the favorite. They served the ten-katsu crunch on the side for the miso which was a nice touch. The same dish is available in a non spicy version. The table QR code system was easy, and our friendly server also offered to take our order if we preferred. We were fine with the system as is and found it to be straight forward. The decor style is very classic Japanese - dark wood look. Comfortable and not too formal but nice. We parked on street not too far away - downtown with several options and very easy on a Sunday.

Excellent. Firm, substantial homemade noodles. Soup is smooth and flavorful. Gyoza, sausages, and spicy cucumber were also great. Nice casual and comfortable space. The owner was warm and welcoming, and appreciated our business, which is always nice. Will be back again soon.

Such a cute hidden udon spot! We got the hot niku udon soup and the broth was delicious. The meat was also amazing without being too chewy. We also ordered takoyaki and shrimp tempura. Everything was great and I have nothing bad to say about this location. The booth area was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely comeback!

I ordered cold niku bukake, the beef is delicious, i wanna like the cold broth, but i cant. They did say its cold udon and i thought only the udon is cold the broth still hot i am wrong. Its my fault to want to venture out of regular soup. It the fat from the beef floating on my bowl. It was delicious but I don't think my cup of tea. My husband had tori miso udon, that one is delicious the broth is amazing and the udon soft but slippery which is understandable. We also ordered shrimp tempura. Delish! If you are hungry dont come here it took a while to come. But it worth the wait. Also another problem is the ordering app is not user-friendly. Just like their other restaurant akita ramen the ordering system need to be fix. The resturant is beautiful.

Food it good cute place to eat but you don't have a waitress or water you order the food your self . Very fresh tasting but pricey

Food came out fast and they were very attentive and asked my friends and I how was the service and everything. We told them they were great. Currently they are on their soft opening period and only serve 4 types of udon. Spicy niku cold udon, cold udon. Spicy hot udon and regular hot udon. Flavor was great and I'm glad it's close by. Use to always drive into Cambridge for udon so this being close is awesome. Owner came out and informed us that when they are fully opened their menu will have more udon items.

The restaurant has an authentic feel and is decorated with a lot of vintage Japanese memorabilia and posts and such, it lends a nice vibe to the food. Service is a bit laid back, all orders are done via an app or website and the servers simply bring the food to you. But they are attentive with water refills and bussing of tables so it's not lazy. I recommend Akita!

I had a very pleasant lunch yesterday. Ordered seafood drunken noodles. I was served a very generous and delicious plate of noodles, veggies, squid, shrimp and scallops. I enjoyed it, but found it somewhat less flavorful than I would have liked. Possibly catering to a mostly Caucasian clientele, for my taste it probably could have used more fish sauce, My thoughts only, They have an expansive Thai menu which I look forward to sampling over the coming months. It is on the more expensive side, which is likely justified by a large portion size and fresh ingredients and ever increasing national prices. This is a very stylish restaurant inside with a clean elegant decor. Very suitable for a special meal. Service was fast and friendly, beautiful clean bathrooms and lots of off street parking. Recommended! The restaurant also has a small (6 seat?) full bar

I felt like two of the employees were hovering over me as I waited which was uncomfortable. They asked me more than once if I wanted to order before my friend arrived. Once we paid one of the employees was hovering over us waiting for us to leave so she could clean the table. I'd be more understanding of this if it was crowded and people were waiting to dine in, but it wasn't that busy. I also noticed none of the other tables got the same treatment as us. No idea why that is but it left a sour taste in my mouth figuratively speaking. However the food and drinks were delicious as always so at least there's that. I've had better service sitting at the bar so if I decide to dine in again I think I'll stick to that.

Pork Fried Rice (on the combo, served in its own bowl ): Not listed as one of the options, but they accommodated me, and it came out surprisingly well-- sort of a cross between Yang Chow fried rice and old school pork fried rice. The pork was fresh and tender; the egg prominent. Very enjoyable even though I was hoping for old school style. Egg Roll (on the combo, served on its own plate ): Small, crisp of shell, and crisp and moist inside, with mostly cabbage and pork. Decent seasoning. Duck Sauce: A cross between standard applesauce-based duck sauce and the dreaded orange packets. Perhaps a little too close to the latter. Overall, an impressive spread for a mere $10.95.
