It's been a while since my last visit, and I can't really recall anything particularly good or bad. I guess it's just a pretty standard spot for ramen.

My son made this after his feast

My very first ramen restaurant experience and it did not disappoint! Akita Ramen is a big city experience tucked away in the suburbs of Andover at Shawsheen Plaza. Unassuming but a feast for the eyes as soon as you step inside. . My kids begged me to find them a local ramen restaurant so we ended up here. Staff was friendly, answered our questions, and then we ordered via the Toast app right from our table. My boys devoured the pork bun and I opted for the spicy miso ramen. It was filling and delicious. My boys shared the yuzu ship ramen and loved it. If you have kids, they'll be captivated watching anime on a big screen and all the fun decor on the walls. Adults will love watching the "how it's made" noodle videos. My only wish was that the ramen had a chicken option rather than all pork (there is a vegetarian option as well). We'll definitely be back to sample some more items!

This is an enjoyable place to visit for ramen and other options. The are on the walls is as interesting as it looks in the Yelp photos. You menu is available as a QR code you can scan, and evidently each table's is slightly different, because it will identify at which table you are sitting, a nice touch. You can take care of everything right at your table, and your order is usually brought to you within a few minutes. The ramen bowls are interesting and do look exactly like their photos. I do wish they could be a bit more descriptive about the level of spiciness for each bowl, simply saying "spicy" isn't necessarily enough. The crispy brussels sprouts here are amazing, such a good flavor. You can also pay right at your table as well, by credit card or Google Wallet. The kitchen will be closed for 90 minutes each day between their lunch and dinner hours.

Great food. I love getting apps and a mini chashu don for dinner. Family loves the ramen.

I just made my second trip to Akita and am loving this place. We did take-out both times and the way they set up the ramen for take-out is super convenient and works well for the dish. The containers are layered with the broth on the bottom and all the "stuff" on top so you just mix it together when you get it home. The three ramens we had between the two trips were Black Garlic Tonkatsu, Shio Tonkatsu and Spicy Miso. The Black Garlic Tonkatsu and Spicy Miso were our favorites and we would definitely get those again. The other items we got were from the appetizers menu: Takoyaki (octopus balls), chicken karaage (Japanese style fried chicken with dipping sauce), pork bun, and fried brussel sprouts with yuzu sauce. Our favorites of these were the pork bun and chicken karaage. I placed the first order online on a Sunday before opening time, and I was a bit suspicious when I realized the time it was estimated to be ready was the actual opening time. As I already suspected, it wasn't ready at that time - no biggie, though, as everyone was nice and promised it would be ready quickly. Akita is pretty much right next door to a supermarket,so I took the opportunity to do some quick shopping. Hopefully this online order glitch gets fixed. The second order was for dinner and ready a few minutes early. Once again, the staff were great. We didn't eat in, but the place had plenty of seating and seemed family friendly. It filled up very quickly on the weekend between opening time and when I came back 15 minutes later to get my order. My only personal wish would be for a bit more variety in the proteins available on the ramen. Most are served with pork by default with an option for sous vide chicken instead. There is one vegetarian ramen that looks good, but again more choices would be nice.

Love love love love! The restaurant is soooo cute inside! The staff is kind! And the food is amazing. My go-to always for ramen!

Center is Treasure Island Roll (it has gold flakes ), but I can't remember the names of the other two rolls.

Wow, Akita is a wonderful addition to the Sango area! My husband and I waited a bit to try it to allow for the typical start up kinks and crowd to die down, but we made it in last night and we were beyond pleased. At 6:15 on a Friday night we had a wait of about 20 minutes, but the host was pleasant and accommodating. We opted to sit at the sushi bar to speed up seating. The place is comfortable, decor is welcoming, service was on point, and the food was delicious. Even the sushi chefs were pleasant and chatty. We ordered three sushi rolls, all prepared in a timely manner and were delicious; tasted very fresh, well sized, and a beautiful presentation. We frequent sushi places around town weekly and Akita is at the top. Definitely a new addition to our weekly rotation.

Awesome to find great ramen in Andover, and I should say 'finally' even for a new resident. I had the classic Shoyu Ramen, adding bean spouts. I added fish cake, but it comes with 1 fish cake piece, corn, seaweed, and chasu. The next time I'm going with the large bowl. The broth is excellent! The bowls all look great, and maybe the next time for me with a ramen too! Parking is easy. The reason for 4 stars is it's online ordering only at the table. The service for water, chopsticks and forks and napkins is excellent, but I miss the personal touch for questions about the menu.

You know it wasn't bad at all! It was pretty good. Tbh I had low expectations, small town, probably not too familiar with Asian cuisine, But the first bite was really satisfying. Good broth. Good flavor. Good service. Overall positive experience!

As someone who really loves a good bowl of ramen, I was a bit surprised to find this excellent spot nestled away in a shopping mall outside Boston. The interior of this restaurant is super cute and fun, and they have lots of Japanese music playing that elevates the mood. The ordering process is completely online- you scan a QR code and it lets you choose which items from the menu you'd like. There are pictures for every menu item, which makes it especially easy to see what the food looks like before it arrives. We ordered a black garlic tonkatsu ramen, spicy tonkatsu shio ramen, an order of takoyaki, and some tayaki for dessert. I started with the spicy ramen which was much spicier than expected. The broth especially was a bit too much for me, but I enjoyed the flavor of the noodles and other toppings. The black garlic tonkatsu ramen was a much better fit for my palette - the broth was rich and creamy, with some notes of garlic that weren't too overpowering. I was also very impressed with the pork, which was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. After we were eating the ramen, our server brought out the takoyaki (which I thought would be served more as an appetizer), but it was delicious nonetheless. They were creamy and topped with lots of sauce and bonito flakes, exactly how I like them. We finished our meal with some tayaki which was filled with red bean and served slightly warm. I'm not sure if they're made fresh in-house, but they tasted great. If you're someone who enjoys a good bowl of ramen definitely consider stopping by here! I'll definitely be back.

Had shoyu and miso ramen. Wish there was more chicken on the menu because the pork was not that good. The broth was good but entire menu was very over priced for not even ordering from a server. Seats were very close together and we probably would not come back. The walls are cool and ambiance is great but I think there's better options in the area to justify coming

Cute interior, large bowls, and OKAY prices. Many options and relatively quick service. Scan a QR code to order.

I found this place through Yelp and decided to come here for lunch after seeing the photos of the…read moreramen. It's relatively small (only about ten seats) and at the time, only two people were working. It took a little bit for the food to come out (my dad was able to go order a coffee at Coffee Break Cafe next door and bring it back before our orders came out) but the portions were perfect for our lunch and my dad really enjoyed his! The noodles are dropped off on the bar for you to pick up and you grab your own chopsticks as well. We ordered the Chili Ramen (tonkotsu with chili oil on top) and the Shoyu Ramen, both with pork as the protein. The cook on the egg was great (nice and gooey in the center and the white was nice and soft) but it was a little cold and lacked flavor (could've been marinated for longer?). The pork was a nice cut of meat but despite being blowtorched it was a little chewy and lacked a bit of flavor also. The lack of marination on these toppings was helped by the fact that the broth was great and flavorful and if you ate them with the broth and noodles, it was satisfying! I think the broth was the best part; I tried both of them and enjoyed drinking the broth by itself even without eating the noodles with it. Overall, I thought the ramen was OK (the soup was the best part!) but for the price and portion I think this is a nice place to stop by for lunch! My dad enjoyed it a lot and was impressed by the authenticity for an American establishment.

Not the best ramen . Took the classic ramen. Bowl was full but there was a bitter taste in the…read morepork sauce. Ambiance was a bit strange. Person at the counter was scratching under his armpits and was the same guy who prepare the food.
