Located in a busy area with lots of shops across from the Apex center. Got the tonkotsu and miso ramen. The broth is a pork based soup. This place knows how to make the broth very satisfying, savory and slurpy. Too many S words? Maybe . Noodles texture was perfect and the veggies compliments it well. The pork belly cha siu was rich and fatty and terrific - the definition of comfort food. The only gripe was egg was an add on .. other than that a must visit if you're in the area. for being in Marborough, this place is legit. The service is quick. The place is on a smaller side. The food always comes out hot, fresh, and tasty. i've had tried the agedashi tofu and the keragi fried chicken many times. all times it's come out piping hot. I was looking forward to lunch here. I had Teriyaki chicken bowl and chicken ramen take out. Everything was packaged nicely and no leaks! The chicken in both were undercooked - almost looked raw. The food has been amazing every time my boyfriend and I go here, there has never been an issue. That is between both takeout and dine-in experiences! When dining in, the staff are very tentative and speedy each time we've been there, and pick-up is super easy. The ambiance is very cozy with all the plants and lighting, it's a really nice place to dine-in. The only complaint I would have is the takeout portion is somewhat different from the dine-in portion. It seems the dine-in is much bigger compared to take-out, but that's probably due to the takeout container size. Otherwise this is a great place in the area for ramen! read more

First off, I want to get props to the great ambiance and service; it was truly really nice. However, the boba tea I ordered was too sweet that I had to mix it 5 times with plain water to make it drinkable. But the main problem I have is that in the four pieces of pork in my Tonkotzu ramen, none was eatable due to the 99% fat, which hurt the ramen loving soul within me. Overall, the taste was nice but I didn't think it was worth 24 dollars. Looking at the reviews of this resto I think my case is rare, but I do hope that these cases would decrease. read more

Got tonkatsu ramen and was delicious. Slightly more peppery than im used to for ramen but i got acquired to it and was nom nomming away. Big portion which is a bonus. Service was nice and no problems at all. The place is quite small. Store front is basically just a window. Kinda squished, but goes deep. Friendly, comfortable, and tasty. Three of us went out on a Friday evening and found a spot at the bar. The service was fast, and the workers were all very friendly. They stopped to check in on us many times during our meal. We had three appetizers (eel ball was surprisingly rich and tasty, pot stickers were hot and crispy and the sticky bun was filled with flavor), two bowls of tonkotsu Ramen with a soft boiled egg and the chicken teriyaki. We have never had a more tender and delicious chicken teriyaki, even the rice was perfectly made in that dish. In our Tonkotsu Ramen, we ordered a soft boiled egg, which was actually pretty good. They serve the food with chopsticks and a big spoon. If you need a fork, don't be shy just ask for whatever you need. The hot green tea were served quickly. Keep in mind if you want refills on your hot tea that they cost the same price as a new order. Perfect place to dine during a cold winter afternoon or evening. read more

Best ramen I've ever had! Delicious rice bowls! My fam of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids, 6 and 8 yrs old) really enjoyed ourselves here. I super recommend their Tonkotsu Ramen which comes full of pork belly, wood ear mushroom, a soft boiled egg, noods, plus more in an addictive broth. Then I also loved their Unagi Don which is a very tasty rice-based dish topped with a huge piece of eel in a sweet and savory sauce. My younger daughter adored her Chicken Teriyaki and it was the best version I've tried. Then though my older daughter had trouble finishing her ramen, it reheated well for breakfast the next day. Kinzen isn't my #1 for Ramen, but it's certainly in my top 5, and is definitely the place to go for me when I need a quick ramen fix - as it is very close to where I live. Their Tonkatsu ramen is something I often have pop into my mind when deciding I need ramen in my life. The broth is nice and rich, and all of the flavors mix together so well. The service there has always been very pleasant. I'm almost always greeted immediately upon arrival, and the staff do a very good job making sure patrons have everything they need in a timely manner. In my opinion, ramen isn't the same when you take it to go. I've had a few instances specifically here where I've ordered some ramen for pickup... and it just seems to lose a step. It's got to be a combination of boxing it up, sending it out and having it re-distributed. I'm not entirely sure, but my "To Go" orders lack a tiny bit when I choose that. It doesn't stop me from doing it if it's my only option, but I always keep that in mind when doing so. All in all - this is a great local ramen spot that I hope continues to thrive. There aren't enough quality ramen and soup shops in my local area, so when one comes around, I like to grasp onto it tighter than a lid on a pickle jar! I recommend if you have the time, sit down inside and eat fresh right out of the bowl, as opposed to ordering for pickup. Solid spot, everything tastes fresh. The staff is super friendly and the service is usually super quick if you want to sit at the counter. The chicken ramen is the sleeper on the menu. The broth is rich but delicate and the chicken is properly cooked, not rubbery. Decent value. The only thing missing is an ice cold beer. I was craving Japanese ramen on a cold day and found this place not too far from my in-laws. My husband and I both got the tonkotsu and we added some spiciness to it. The broth was not the typical rich pork flavor we were used to (it was somehow different?), but nevertheless, it was good and we both ate our bowls clean. I know this restaurant is known for their ramen, but my friend and I both got their rice bowls. The portions were a lot bigger than I was expecting. Very delicious and filling though, so I would definitely want to go back and try out their ramen as well. We also ordered takoyaki as an appetizer. My friend has never had it before, so I wanted to her eat it for the first time. She was surprised by how much she enjoyed it and grabbed another one to eat. There are four in a plate and I got another order to go for later. Back to the rice bowls...I ordered the chashu rice bowl which comes with pork, scallions, bean sprouts and corn. I added sriracha to my bowl because I love making all my food spicy. However, the rice bowl had so much flavor, it wasn't even necessary. Other times I have ordered rice bowls from different restaurants, the flavor is lacking because there's not a lot of sauce or they don't give you a whole lot of meat, but this restaurant was very generous with the amount of meat given. Also, there was some wait time for food, but it wasn't egregious. It's not fast food. If you expect to be seated and done with your food in a half hour, go somewhere else. Food was pretty good, but the chicken in my Chicken Ramen was very weird, pure white rubbery like cartilage or fat... none of it seemed like "real" chicken -- I honestly don't know what it was. The broth and noodles were good and my girlfriends Tonkotsu Ramen was good for her. My chicken really threw me off though, it was weird enough to not go back. The Chicken Karaage was pretty good but it came very late after our main food had been delivered already. Our waitress didn't fully understand what was being said and packed food that was for throwing out into broth that we asked to be boxed up. She was a little rude and tried to sell us extra toppings without advertising the price increase. The atmosphere is fine but not great and our service was a bit slow, we got weak tea after a few minutes of waiting. Can't say it was bad overall so no less than 3 stars but definitely won't go back. read more

The wife and I stopped by while passing through the plaza and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Walking in you can't help but notice how clean the tables and chairs are. I think there was seating for five parties of four and then there was the long bar seating (not an actual bar, just the style of the seating). Our server was wonderful! Such great energy and positivity from her! We started our meal with the fresh lemonade and their thai iced tea and they were definitely fresh! My biggest critique when I go to restaurants is whether they bring you a water along with your other choice of drinks and by god they did NOT disappoint me. Water without asking is an easy thing to forget and she definitely came through for me! The appetizers consisted of their gyoza, kaarage and the chashu pork buns. The gyoza were perfectly crispy on the bottom and the sauce was a perfect partner to it! The portion of kaarage was amazing! It could've been a meal all by itself! Perfectly fried using rice flour batter and the sauce that was given with this one was also flavorful I just wish I had more of it to go with the amount of chicken we had. The chashu pork buns are a must have. The pickled veggies gave it a vietnamese banh mi flavor but this was so refreshing to eat. Of the three appetizers we had I would go with kaarage, chashu bun and gyoza in that order, however you wont be disappointed with any of them! Our entree's were absolutely delicious. The curry was packed with flavor and were VERY generous with the katsu chicken underneath. The potato and carrots were so soft they melted in my mouth, best part was that the curry didn't have that overbearing curry smell with it! The spicy miso ramen was rich in flavour without being overbearingly spicy. The corn, wood ear mushroom and bamboo shoots were plentiful and delicious. The chashu was melty meaty goodness I was so impressed. Overall, I will definitely be back and will be bringing more people with me! Solid place, so glad they opened shop. Probably best soup spot in a 10mile radius. Delicious and filling, though didn't hit my crazy broth barometer but it's still really good! Definitely drop in. Taro milk tea with boba is one of my favorites and they have it currently on their menu which was a nice surprise! i recommend the tan tan ramen but you might want to add more pork belly for an additional cost if you want a good ramen to meat ratio.
