Great Service ! Good drinks/smoothies! Gotta take points for only giving half an egg, and charging 2 bucks to get the actual other half of the egg. I've never had chasu pork cut so thin, if you hold it up, you can see light beaming through the other side. It's closer to a deli slice of the pork.. All the ramens are topped with bamboo shoots , corn , rehydrated mushrooms and seaweed. Cans and dried bags galore... , a little scallion, anything fresh would have lifted the entire bowl up... otherwise not bad but I wouldn't choose them over any of the plethora of ramen shops in the area. Broth was rich, somewhat flavorful... but borderline felt watered, like it came from a bag of premade paste, and was not salted enough. Most places top their bowls with fresh veggies, green onions, beans sprouts or bok Choi! Slightly too pricey to be this cheap.... After all that , we walked outta there still starving ! I've been here 3 times. The first time I was turned away due to the random hour and a half closing break in the middle of the day (they are not open 2:30-4pm). The second time there was a nice lady at the front but she seemed panicked by every word that came out of my mouth, barking at me to slow down my order because of some painstaking way she had to enter it in the system, and hoped I'd "get well soon" just because I was wearing a face mask, though I wasn't coughing or anything at all that would indicate I needed such a wish. In general, less of this complaining and commenting on my appearance would be appreciated. The third time, despite my prior in-person experience, I wanted to share the ramen with my family, so I went by again. This time a gentleman was there. I asked for 5 orders of tonkotsu- to which he squawked "FIVE!?!????" loud enough for the entire block to hear. I'm sure my expression in return was one of bewilderment, and he apologized, but so far I'm batting 1000 with awkward experiences with the staff. I was pleasantly surprised by this new small restaurant in highland commons as I have been disappointed sometimes by ramen in the suburbs of MA. Service is friendly, the menu has a lot of appealing options, and the food and the dessert were actually good! The karaage was maybe a bit darker appearing and a tiny bit harder in texture than usual (not burnt though), but still tasty. I really enjoyed my shio ramen--I like a nice light and refreshing broth. My husband had the spicy miso which was a little heartier. Toppings were good in general but the egg was just a regular soft boiled egg (which I still love), not marinated or anything. One serving was slightly too much food for me, but that's the norm for ramen. I know a lot of people like customizing their ramen and sometimes I do too, so maybe one of those slips you can write on would be a nice touch later. The matcha tiramisu was delicious and not too sweet--I would come back here to get this again and try their other desserts and drinks too. The host (owner?) mentioned that they are going to have new items on the menu soon including unagi bowls and chicken teriyaki, and maybe a selection of teas as well, so there's plenty to look forward to! read more

While this isn't the best bowl of ramen I've had, this spot is still a great stop for a warming soup and comfort meal! There no other ramen spots in the area, and this place definitely serves up some tasty bowls. I have to admit, for the price, the quality is not quite where I'd want it to be (noodles are a little mushy, and soup doesn't have that craveable decadence and creaminess of a pork broth)--I've been to many other restaurants that have more of a traditional feel. That being said, we were served very quickly and the bowls are certainly made fresh. The pork has a sweet and salty marinade and a super tender finish. Plus, the portions are plentiful and they offer a nice variety of drinks and appetizers to accompany the meal. The service is relatively friendly, and overall, dining here is has a nice homey feel. I definitely plan to come back and try some of their other flavor combos! The restaurant is in a prime location for a hearty lunch or casual dinner after shopping, running errands, or going to the gym. Happy opening day! I've been waiting quite a while for this place to open. Being a huge ramen head and living right down the street from Highland Commons, I was counting down the days for a local ramen shop to open up right near me. It's safe to say my first visit did not disappoint!! It's a small shop with only about 10-15 seats maybe? When I showed up later in the evening, there wasn't a place for me so I just decided to order to go. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, the Chicken Gyozo & the Karaage (Japanese fried chicken bites). Everything was excellent and didn't take too long from ordering to receiving (they apologized for the wait but i honestly didn't think it was too bad). Very friendly and quick staff here, taking time to mingle with customers but also having that casual sense of urgency when it's busy. It's a great service combination to have. The spicy ramen had a bit more of a kick than some other "spicy" ramen bowls I've had - which I'm a huge fan of. The chashu pork is perfectly cooked, and they have beautiful slurpable noodles that make it even more satisfying to eat. Also - the pricing for everything is very reasonable in comparison to other ramen places in the general area. Definitely not bad! I'm hoping for a sit down experience on my next visit. But with this first "to go" order, two thumbs up! I'll be back again very soon (with more pictures). read more

This place is small but spacious and cozy for a small group of people to get ramen. We tried japanese fried chicken karage, miso ramen, spicy miso and spicy tonkatsu and everything was great. The ramen was full of flavor w generous portions of noodle and toppings and the spicy level was on point. The food was served super quick and we were able to eat and leave within an hour w kids! The Food: The kitchen team at Ramen Haven is clearly the backbone of the operation. The Black Garlic Tonkotsu is rich and flavorful, and the Chashu is consistently tender. If you're just there for the bowl of ramen, the back-of-house delivers. The Service Reality: While some reviews praise "Katie," the reality of the service was frequently unprofessional. There was a constant, awkward energy because she would repeatedly interrupt other staff members while they were trying to work or speak with customers. It made the whole experience feel chaotic and disrespectful to the rest of the team who were actually trying to get things done. Hearing a server overshare inappropriate personal details in a small, open-kitchen environment is also a major turn-off when you're trying to eat. The Verdict: The ramen is some of the best in the area, but the front-of-house behavior often overshadowed the meal. Now that there have been some staff changes, hopefully the atmosphere will finally be as professional as the food is good. I really wanted and was hoping for an amazing new gem, and part of me hesitated to write a review that is not amazing especially for a new shop. However, I want this place to succeed and be the gem it can, so I am going to give my own observations and hope they address them so I can update my rating. Dining time, Saturday night. not having gyoza from the get go is not something that can slide by on a menu that is not huge, plus gyoza is a highly ordered item. karage was too fried, need to work on how that is prepared, the chicken itself may have been pretty good, but overshadowed because it was over fried. add moyashi (bean sprouts) to ramen, broth still needs some tweakiing, chashu was too small. the actual menu though i liked, there are a number of other things i would like to try. The staff. i do appreciate when one of the staff members made the macha tea in fromt of us, nice touch. i could also tell he was really trying to accommodate customers. another staff member kiind of made me uncomfortable, talked too much and rushed us out the door. i apologize if this is coming of rude, but i honestly would like to see this establishment to flourish and at its current stage it might find it difficult read more

Tonight, the service was horrible. We ordered a curry rice dish and a ramen dish. Ramen came out but never got the rice dish. No waitstaff ever checked on us. Nobody ever noticed that one of us had no food. Staff was rarely at the counter so it was hard to ask. Finally was able to tell someone that we hadn't gotten half of our order. They took a while and came back with a completely different dish. Told them it was wrong and they took the wrong dish away. Waited for an incredibly long time and finally gave up. Asked for the check. As we were paying, they brought out the food. Asked if I wanted to pay for it and get it to go. No apologies, no offer of compensation.
