Given that hibachi rooms are usually a full-volume symphony of knives, fire, and birthday chants (in just over 2 hrs, we enjoyed 4 gongs!) -- I was pleasantly surprised. Even without sound-absorbing decor or cozy furniture, the noise level stayed lively but not chaotic. No shouting across the table, no sensory overload. A win. Our chef brought the right mix of skill and personality (entertaining without trying too hard), our server was on it, and drinks showed up consistently and on time -- which, let's be honest, is half the battle. But if someone is going to pay at least 32-50 for hibachi the quality should be up to par. I got steak and salmon hibachi for about 40- the salmon was two very thin slices and steak about a single serving size. One of the problems with this price range is they will charge you extra for fried rice (isnt that the reason go for hibachi?), extra for "garlic noodles"- that was 50% soy sauce. Dumps a load of lomein on the griddle and gave it a soy sauce bath, no garlic. The food was extremely salty, the sauces they also gave were poorly made- watery and extremely salty. Hibachi sauces should be gingery, garlicky, a little thick and flavorful. Most places will also give a creamy sauce, they gave something with cheap hot mustard in it and something else that was also watery and salty it was not appealing at all. The only positive is the cook was really nice, but you guys need to work on whatever recipes you have currently and re-evaluate the pricing for the quality youre giving out. We shouldve went to Tomo if i was going to spend that much.

My wife and I enjoy sushi lunch there once every week…read more We LOVE this place. I've been eating sushi since 1980. All over the world, including many dozens of meals in Japan. The sushi is high grade, fresh, delicious, and the presentation for the "Sushi Deluxe for Two" is masterful. We now know all the waitstaff, even lucky enough to get hugs from some of them, when we arrive. If there were only six stars for the rating, I'd give them seven!

The reason appeared to be that I don't always leave a tip. Tipping is optional and there is no law requiring customers to tip. While I understand that servers appreciate tips, I don't believe I should be denied the opportunity to dine in because of my tipping choices, especially when I didn't receive service I felt was exceptional. The interaction left me feeling singled out and discriminated against. I can't say for certain why I was treated this way, but it made me question whether I would have been treated differently if I were of another race. Overall, the experience was upsetting, unprofessional, and made me feel unwelcome.
