It is always a fun time when we go to Yang Ming. The owner is often walking around greeting customers and engaging in conversation. Place is super busy any night of the week. Main parking lot is shared but we parked on the side of the building at their additional lot. Place is lively with people enjoying their food and chatting. We love their sushi and sashimi combo for two so we went back for more. We started with both miso soup and salad included. That was followed by a dragon figure with our meal. Been going here for years, went for the first time in a while the other day and it was not good. To start with, the place is a mess. Clutter all over the place. The table itself was reasonably clean, but the rest of the place was a mess. The men's room was filthy. Service was friendly and relatively prompt. Portion sizes for the lunch specials weren't bad, but less than years past. Food quality was also much lower this time around. Rice was dry, hardly any meat in the entrees. On the bright side the chicken teriyaki was actually pretty good. But they made my entree so spicy I couldn't even eat it really, this after me asking for it to be mild due to a medical condition. Also, it seems like a whole new staff in there, so not sure if there has been another change of owners since we last went. Either way, this place is now on my "do not go" list. Seems like it's more a place for bar flies to hang out than a restaurant now. Which is fine for some, but not a place I want to spend my money at. Kind of sad really, cause it used to be good. Excellent New England style old school Chinese. As good as the Kowloon in its glory days. The menu is varied and covers all the bases. I eventually tried the sushi, something I rarely do in Chinese centered restaurants and it was very very fresh and biggish portions. It's worth a trip. The service is also classic. The bathrooms need a makeover and sometimes there is no soap and that's at lunch when everything should be topped off. What has happened to Yang Ming? We came for dine in on a Friday night and I was taken aback from the following. - The outside entrance had so many cigarette butts on the ground, old Christmas decorations from last December that needed to be thrown away. People from the lounge come out to smoke and then throw the butts on the ground. So gross. - Inside at the reception SO MUCH CLUTTER and stacks of supplies, old fliers on the walls and old decorations from past holidays. So much for 1st impressions. -Menus- no more nice menus. We got paper menus (for take out) and they reuse them BUT mine was torn and needed to be tossed. - Bar in the back- not a bar but used for storage and clutter. -Back mens room, so dirty and the fan- so badly needed to be cleaned. So the atmosphere is pretty dreadful but the food is decent BUT all this makes me worry about what is going on in the kitchen in the back and what is not being maintained and cleaned. I have been going to Yang Ming for over 25 years. So I think I qualify as a regular and over the years I have seen them disintegrate over the quality of food and the service which now is miserable. The two of us went to lunch just a few days ago sat at the bar and the bartender gave us two Cokes. It was lunch time. Then told us he had to make a delivery. He'll be right back which left us feeling. He's gone to the kitchen dropping off food in the bar or the restaurant but wrong. He sat there for 45 minutes until somebody from the restaurant came in and took our order. The bartender did not did not return for another 15 minutes. He left us for an hour. Yes, we're eating. He kept saying would you like a refill on our Cokes saying the food was salty? It was hot out and we said sure. The bill came. We had $40 in food and $12 in sodas. Every time he topped off our glass it was $3.50. what a jerk. The restaurant just lost two more customers. Don't go there. It's loud and the food is not that good anymore. read more

I just found this place and now it's my go to Chinese. The food was really delicious and they give you really generous portions. And the scorpion bowl for 2 was strong and yummy. We got the following food - ranking them from my most to least favorite: Boneless spare rib - this was my absolute favorite because the flavor and tenderness of the meat was great. We got a large and it lasted us 3 meals for 2 Beef Lo Mein - the flavor of the noodles were salty and sweet, the perfect combo. The beef inside the noodles were tender and a good size. The veggies were a little lacking, but otherwise it was great General Gau's Chicken - hefty pieces of chicken covered in this thick sweet and slightly spicy sauce. These pieces are coated and there's plenty of sauce to dip again if you need more. I like the crispness of the chicken even though it was drenched in sauce. Three Delight W/ Garlic Sauce - this was definitely my least favorite, but I think it's because of the celery. It was not cooked down so it was really crunchy and I just didn't like the taste of it. But the flavor was good, thick garlic sauce coated all the different proteins and veggies. Overall, I'm definitely coming back. Do not recommend folks to come here after our last experience on 10/08/2023. We ordered house special lo mein and definitely got a special serving with a fly on top. I luckily took a picture in hopes to remember what we order and what's good. We were so grossed out and we should've just got up and left... They took the house lo mein away and said they would make a new one for us, not sure if they really did or just stir fried it up again. It would've made us feel better seeing the older plate still out. I should have ordered something instead of the lo mein again, but I was just shocked and disgusted. To top everything off, we paid for the lo mein still. I was kind of expecting for it to be taken off the bill, but paid for it and still gave a 15% tip. We did not complain or make it a big issue. We said we weren't comfortable and grossed out and they didn't seem to engage with us on it further. Our kids were disgusted. We were disgusted. It ruined our family dinner outing. Would not recommend at all. When we first walked in the place it was ridiculously loud. There was a large party of loud customers with no manners. The bathroom was filthy. The utensils were not cleaned properly as there was still food on them. The food itself was not worth the money. The servers barely spoke English. I can go on and on about why this place is a poorly run restaurant. Seriously regretful experience. My standards on not very high, so for me to take the time just to give the a bad review it goes to show how bad it was. This is the first restaurant I've been to in years that I was very unhappy with and I eat out a lot. Please find another restaurant to go to if you're in the area. read more

Waited an hour (when online said max 45 min). No delivery. Called was told delivery driver would be here any min. Called 15 min later. Was told they needed to call the driver and would call me back. 10 min later got a call saying my food was just leaving the kitchen! After I was told twice that the food was already on the way. When I asked to cancel the order I was told the driver was in the way. After they said the food was in the kitchen. Not ordering here again and we order regularly including New years. read more

Chinese food is notably consistent to me in the NH area for having a similar taste. I'd say this has the iconic NH Chinese cuisine flavor. I got a huge order ($190 worth) and everything was present and accounted for when I got it back to the house. This totally met expectations on my visit back to the historic part of the US. Food was hot, service was friendly and accurate and zero issues with any of the quality of the entrees. Teriyaki chicken and beef were the family favorites and disappeared the quickest. That was hands down.... The single best Chinese food and sushi we have ever had. First time ever dining here and we had our toddler with us. The customer service was outstanding! We felt so comfortable and welcomed, our child was met with a kind and sweet greeting! The staff was sitting and chatting with other tables, laughing and having a great time! We had an unfortunate experience when picking up an online order. We pulled into one of the parking spaces on the side of the building. It was almost 90 degrees on an August afternoon. The screen door leading to the kitchen was propped open. There was a rack of unwrapped chicken exposed to the outside elements (heat, insects, rodents (?), etc. I posted a photo for the curious. The rice and Crab Rangoon were fine. I didn't get the meal I ordered. What I got was sushi with wasabi, which wasn't at all what I ordered. When I tried to explain it to the woman on the phone, she wouldn't listen to a word I said, constantly talked over me and wouldn't look at the House Special section of the menu, which is what I ordered from. When I informed her that the description of the meal I ordered said absolutely nothing about wasabi or sushi, that's when she hung up on me. Two stars is extraordinarily generous. read more

Love this place. The lunch specials can't be beat for the price, quality and quantity. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We called our lunch order in and it was ready when we arrived. Unsure if their outdoor seats were still available (late November) so requested takeout but upon arrival we realized the tables and chairs were still available. They were more than happy to have us sit outside although we did takeout. A waiter even brought us paper goods and offered drinks but we were all set. We did tip him and he was pleasantly surprised that we did. They appear to be following all of the COVID safety procedures and we would highly recommend them. read more
