Good Chinese food and service. Ambiance is usually quiet allowing talk amongst friends.

Food is very good, the service is Asian but the facilities are not clean. I don't know how the Town of Salem allows them to be open without citation. From the broken and practically unreadable sign out front to the stacks of boxes on the floor that greets you when you enter, to the dirty windows, we will no longer go there. Everyone knows that cardboard boxes directly on the floor is a breeding ground for all kinds of critters. Outside and behind the restaurant will also give you the heebe jeepees. Time to take clean up, to invest and to bring the facilities in line with the food read more

We have heard fabulous things about Yang, and it's true!! Hubby raved about his fogcutter, and the food, the food is Amazing!! We got Pu Pu for 1 (16.99) and the flavors were outstanding..beef Teri was sweet, and ever so tender..chick Teri melted in your mouth..chick finger was actually chicken inside and not just undercooked batter..best we ever had!! Egg roll perfection.. Crab rangoon was overstuffed and cooked just right..The shrimp.. Never ever saw any like this!! Huge and so good!! Shrimp looked like a plain donut, so big!! Our servers Julia(who just started the night before) and Mae(also owner) were fabulous!..speedy and super friendly..we sat at bar, but lounge was packed..on a Tues nite this speaks volumes!! The restaurant side was also full and people waiting outside when we left.. I wish I could give 10 stars, as I would!! read more

I have been a customer for at least 10 years and have always loved the food and recommended this place to others. However, this New Years Eve I was very disappointed. My takeout order was cold and not packed well,( the whole pupu platter was jammed into one box. ) I was missing a few things that I ordered and paid for, I was also given the wrong order of rice. But the worse was the shrimp, it tasted off, and the spareribs had a weird aftertaste. My son actually got sick and threw up after eating this food. I will never eat at this place again. read more

So, this one might not seem fair. Don't know; don't care. We drove a while to try this place. Got there just in time for the lunch special, with five min to spare. As the specials looked like a decent deal, and this place was new to us, we were pretty excited. All lunch specials come with a main meal, plus a soup, rice and a small appetizer. Which most of us consider part of the standard, but quintessential, Chinese special experience. So, due to COVID, the indoor seating is closed. No option to dine in at all. Just a window to order and carry away. I walk up to said window, order the specials, then begin to detail which soups and sides I want. The woman says, "No", and points to the "sides are dine in only" text on the menu. I say, "There is no dine in, right?" "Right". "And you are not making any accommodations for this?" "No" I replied, "So it's now the same price, with half the food?" "RIGHT." Now. I get barraged by commercials and signs, asking that we support our local restaurants in these COVID times, as they struggle to stay open. I can get behind that. I certainly don't want to see businesses fail, people lose their livelihoods and rows of vacant buildings. I'm rather inspired that restaurants everywhere are adapting, getting creative, and going the extra mile to retain business. Yet THIS place can't even be bothered to buy a few extra "to go" soup containers? And, failing that low, low bar, offer some sort of compensation, either in price or substitution, to the customers attempting to meet them half way? The customers trying to support them, even though many of us are learning to be happy eating at home and saving money? Nuts to this place. There are too many better places around who also make a real effort. I walked. There is nothing that pisses me off faster than bad customer service. An occasional poor meal I can forgive - poor policies I cannot. read more

Unassuming front, but the food is first rate. One of the only places in NH that does pan fried noodles the right way. My only quibble was the Moo Shi entree, which came with flour tortillas instead of traditional crepes. Drinks were excellent and nicely priced after spending a few days in Boston, where craft cocktails can run north of 20 bucks each. This was recommended by a fellow diner at one of those Boston places a while back, so glad we decided to drop in on our way back from Thanksgiving celebrating. read more

Not super impressed. Been to their Amesbury location many times and had consistently good food and service. The food here was mediocre. The fried rice tasted like it was cooked on a dirty cooktop. There were flies swarming our table the entire time. The staff was nice enough and the bathrooms were clean. This place would not be my first choice next time I go to Salem. read more

Went there last night. Little by little, they're getting back to normal, but tables are still separated by clear plastic partitions, drinks are in plastic cups, and paper plates are the norm. Presentation has taken a hit, but the superb food and friendly service remain as strong as ever. It even looks like the bar is open, with some alterations. Stretched our stomachs with the Sushi & Sashimi Combo for 2, and an app of the best-in-the-valley crab rangoons. Wonderful. Still love this place, and am eagerly awaiting the end of medical martial law. read more

Can't come here anymore sadly after 2+ years. Food just doesn't taste good anymore. There's been multiple times where we've found hair in the food. Also felt sick after eating there today. Definitely not coming back. read more

Food and drinks are great and the service is awesome. Going for drinks or lunch or dinner you can't lose here. Been coming here for a while now and haven't had a bad experience. Knock on wood. The food is amazing and affordable. The service is exceptional, very friendly great atmosphere. There is a dividing half wall when entering the left is the bar and the right is the dining area with a sushi bar. I cannot emphasize how wonderful this place is for anything. From a huge party gathering or just being together or alone, will make your night so much better being at this restaurant. I have not found another place that I could compare with this one. read more

We were pleasantly surprised about the quality and portions of food. We have been here before and the food was good. This take out was better experience with nice flavor in each meal. We would have preferred a bit more seasoning but we understand everyone's palate is different. The sushi rolls were a excellent surprise. Full slices of raw fish and very fresh. We will get food here again. read more

Food is yummy, service is excellent, wait time is minimal. Crab Rangoon is creamy goodness! Pork fried rice is always steaming and fresh. Only minor critique is for the "shrimp tempura appetizer". It only comes with two shrimp, and the rest is a variety of veggie tempura. The veggies were good, but I expected shrimp, not veggies. I wish they had another option besides fried coconut shrimp. read more

Always a delight to the senses! Our preferred destination in Salem. The servings are generous! The vegetable dish is not to be missed! A delicate white sauce, infused with garlic and onion. Cooked to perfection with a hint of crispness! The Pad Thai is exceptional. The Kung Pao and General Gao chicken are both delectable! The beverages pack a punch. The proprietor is most welcoming. A fondness for Yang Ming! read more

Love the crispy teriyaki and egg rolls, but they are a little pricey. There is similar quality Chinese food elsewhere for better prices

Always delicious! Our go-to restaurant in Salem. The portions are huge! The veggie delight is a must try! Light white sauce, garlicky and onion-y. Perfectly cooked with a little crunch! Pad tai is amazing. Kung pao and general gao chicken are delicious! Drinks are very strong. The owner is super friendly. Love Yang Ming! read more

Stay away from the chicken fingers! Overly breaded and very little chicken. Crab rangoons were ok; nothing special. Rice was horrible, had a weird aftertaste. Go with the made to order options vs those that may be sitting around too long. Drinks were well made and strong read more

Currently my favorite chinese place. The only thing I would knock it about is the interior is a little dated. But that means I don't feel bad when I come in with my kids at 3 pm and run around in their spare room. If you see a middle aged white dude pretending to be Bowser chasing two little kids and roaring please forgive him. This is the most fun he gets at dinner. Whomever is in charge of the fryer knows EXACTLY what he is doing. I have not once gotten an appetizer that was underdone or overly greasy. I would definitely recommend eating in here because if that stuff waits for 20 minutes in a box you are going to RUIN it. I will be very mad at you for wasting it. As standard for a chinese place drinks are strong and plentiful and cheap. Completely par for the course there, although I would say they are probably lighter on sugar and sour mix; which is a good thing. Most surprising dish for me is the chinese sausage rice. It's a lightly fried rice (not dark brown from soy) with chopped red sausage. It's relatively simple but sooo good. Another thing is the wonton soup. It has actual vegetables, a reasonable amount of salt, and deliciously delicate wontons. Nothing like what most places serve. read more

The most consistently delicious Chinese restaurant in the area. If you're in the mood for good Chinese food, this place is a must!

Being in MA for business I thought of finding a good Chinese/Japanese place for lunch. Ended up in NH at this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and I have to say; all of them were right. This place is great. A lunch special gives you so much food and amazing quality. Took awhile to get it but it was clear they were making it fresh in the kitchen. The quantity is impressive too. The amount you get is staggering. I'm glad I didn't finish my soup because otherwise I would have eaten even less of my General's chicken which was crunchy and had just the right amount of heat. I'll certainly come back here. read more

Tried Yang Ming based off the rave sushi reviews. We were kind of bummed at the specialty roll prices ranging from about $13 to $16, but when they came we quickly forgot about that. The rolls were huge! We've tried 4 other sushi places and this places ranks first for roll size. All were delicious, beautiful, and filling I give 4 stars because service was kind of slow, but they were packed and hosting a party. Also, the mixed drinks we ordered were very artificial tasting like premade, overly sugared concoctions. Prices were reasonable though. The decor was "eh" and there's no point in having sushi bar seating if there's too much waiter/waitress traffic there to be seated. We will eat here again if we feel like treating ourselves. Roll size actually gives you a decent bang for your buck. read more

This was a very nice surprise to find out in a not-exactly-international New Hampshire small town: decent quality (not as good as Boston's Chinatown, of course) at reasonable prices and, perhaps most surprisingly and pleasantly, excellent service! (Friendly, attentive servers who can speak more than 20 words of English are rare in Chinatown, I usually find.) We stopped here on the way back from doing some tax-free shopping, wanted to avoid the usual Sunday-night traffic jam inbound to Boston. Nothing fancy but nothing shabby either, nice cozy place inside. It turns out their menu includes Japanese dishes (sushi) as well as the Chinese that we were expecting due to their name, and even a smattering of Thai dishes! We decided to play it safe and stick to the Chinese dishes, and were pretty happy with what we got (an appetizer plate and the house special duck). My only small gripe is that their beer menu is full of the usual mass market crap but that's pretty much a given for every Asian restaurant I've ever been to outside of the beer-utopia that is the Pacific Northwest. They do have a "bar lounge" as well as two restaurant dining areas. I'm guessing a large part of their revenue comes from alcohol sales, to compensate for probably not that many customers given the location. All in all, this was a nice find. read more
