So, this one might not seem fair. Don't know; don't care. We drove a while to try this place. Got there just in time for the lunch special, with five min to spare. As the specials looked like a decent deal, and this place was new to us, we were pretty excited. All lunch specials come with a main meal, plus a soup, rice and a small appetizer. Which most of us consider part of the standard, but quintessential, Chinese special experience. So, due to COVID, the indoor seating is closed. No option to dine in at all. Just a window to order and carry away. I walk up to said window, order the specials, then begin to detail which soups and sides I want. The woman says, "No", and points to the "sides are dine in only" text on the menu. I say, "There is no dine in, right?" "Right". "And you are not making any accommodations for this?" "No" I replied, "So it's now the same price, with half the food?" "RIGHT." Now. I get barraged by commercials and signs, asking that we support our local restaurants in these COVID times, as they struggle to stay open. I can get behind that. I certainly don't want to see businesses fail, people lose their livelihoods and rows of vacant buildings. I'm rather inspired that restaurants everywhere are adapting, getting creative, and going the extra mile to retain business. Yet THIS place can't even be bothered to buy a few extra "to go" soup containers? And, failing that low, low bar, offer some sort of compensation, either in price or substitution, to the customers attempting to meet them half way? The customers trying to support them, even though many of us are learning to be happy eating at home and saving money? Nuts to this place. Went there last night. Little by little, they're getting back to normal, but tables are still separated by clear plastic partitions, drinks are in plastic cups, and paper plates are the norm. Presentation has taken a hit, but the superb food and friendly service remain as strong as ever. It even looks like the bar is open, with some alterations. Stretched our stomachs with the Sushi & Sashimi Combo for 2, and an app of the best-in-the-valley crab rangoons. Wonderful. The food is amazing and affordable. The service is exceptional, very friendly great atmosphere. There is a dividing half wall when entering the left is the bar and the right is the dining area with a sushi bar. I cannot emphasize how wonderful this place is for anything. Excellent beef on a stick, love the spring rolls. Chicken chow neon, salt and pepper wings are amazing, soo Sue slobs the octopus. This is a local spot where you will find regulars. Currently my favorite chinese place. The only thing I would knock it about is the interior is a little dated. But that means I don't feel bad when I come in with my kids at 3 pm and run around in their spare room. If you see a middle aged white dude pretending to be Bowser chasing two little kids and roaring please forgive him. This is the most fun he gets at dinner. Whomever is in charge of the fryer knows EXACTLY what he is doing. I have not once gotten an appetizer that was underdone or overly greasy. I would definitely recommend eating in here because if that stuff waits for 20 minutes in a box you are going to RUIN it. I will be very mad at you for wasting it. As standard for a chinese place drinks are strong and plentiful and cheap. Completely par for the course there, although I would say they are probably lighter on sugar and sour mix; which is a good thing. Most surprising dish for me is the chinese sausage rice. It's a lightly fried rice (not dark brown from soy) with chopped red sausage. It's relatively simple but sooo good. Another thing is the wonton soup. It really irks me when you order a soft drink with the glass loaded with ice, and after consuming all of maybe 5 ozs., ask for a refill, and are told "No free refils". We all know that a glass of soda cost the restaurant about three cents. To make a long story short, I asked to speak with the manager. I asked him why they don't put that in parentheses under the item on the menu and then he started telling me about the financial situation of the restaurant and this and that and blah blah blah and I told him look, I am the customer here", and tried to convey my principal factor to him on how every restaurant in the country in all 50 states have no problem giving free refills. It's one thing that we as Americans, (hint) came to expect, so these people just lost a customer. I will tell all my friends not to go there or it's up to them if they want to pay for a second drink but because of this manager's negative attitude I definitely won't be going back there. read more

Being in MA for business I thought of finding a good Chinese/Japanese place for lunch. Ended up in NH at this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and I have to say; all of them were right. This place is great. A lunch special gives you so much food and amazing quality. Took awhile to get it but it was clear they were making it fresh in the kitchen. The quantity is impressive too. The amount you get is staggering. I'm glad I didn't finish my soup because otherwise I would have eaten even less of my General's chicken which was crunchy and had just the right amount of heat. Tried Yang Ming based off the rave sushi reviews. We were kind of bummed at the specialty roll prices ranging from about $13 to $16, but when they came we quickly forgot about that. The rolls were huge! We've tried 4 other sushi places and this places ranks first for roll size. All were delicious, beautiful, and filling I give 4 stars because service was kind of slow, but they were packed and hosting a party. Also, the mixed drinks we ordered were very artificial tasting like premade, overly sugared concoctions. Prices were reasonable though. The decor was "eh" and there's no point in having sushi bar seating if there's too much waiter/waitress traffic there to be seated. We will eat here again if we feel like treating ourselves. This was a very nice surprise to find out in a not-exactly-international New Hampshire small town: decent quality (not as good as Boston's Chinatown, of course) at reasonable prices and, perhaps most surprisingly and pleasantly, excellent service! (Friendly, attentive servers who can speak more than 20 words of English are rare in Chinatown, I usually find.) We stopped here on the way back from doing some tax-free shopping, wanted to avoid the usual Sunday-night traffic jam inbound to Boston. Nothing fancy but nothing shabby either, nice cozy place inside. It turns out their menu includes Japanese dishes (sushi) as well as the Chinese that we were expecting due to their name, and even a smattering of Thai dishes! We decided to play it safe and stick to the Chinese dishes, and were pretty happy with what we got (an appetizer plate and the house special duck). My only small gripe is that their beer menu is full of the usual mass market crap but that's pretty much a given for every Asian restaurant I've ever been to outside of the beer-utopia that is the Pacific Northwest. They do have a "bar lounge" as well as two restaurant dining areas. I'm guessing a large part of their revenue comes from alcohol sales, to compensate for probably not that many customers given the location. All in all, this was a nice find. read more
