As far as dining in Salem, NH goes - this is one of the best spots. The menu has a really nice variety of sushi (raw and non-raw), apps, and cooked meals. I love Yang Ming, but I definitely recommend it for a sit-in lunch rather than for dinner. Their portions at lunch are the same as for dinner, but their prices are significantly more affordable at lunch. You can choose a main dish that comes with rice, a side and soup, and every meal I've tried has been delicious! Regarding their take out, however, in my experience the prices are fairly high and the portions are not very large. In general- sit-in lunch is the way to go! read more

Had dinner last night and it did not disappoint. We had the eggplant in garlic sauce w/shrimp. Absolutely delicious. Along with that, the Hunan crispy fish with a fantastic, slightly, spicy sauce. Highly recommended. Got a few traditional Chinese food items as well... chicken fingers, chicken wings, house rice...which if you've never had, is a white, sticky rice with small shrimps and chicken, very flavorful if you'd like to try something different than fried rice with pork. I am writing this review as I sit in my bedroom and battle with the coronavirus. I have been feeling very sick and unable to really care or cook for myself, and decided to call Yang Ming to place an order for delivery. I made it a priority to let the kind woman on the other end of the phone know that I'm sick, I need to pay for my food over the phone by credit card, and that it was very important for the delivery driver to just leave the food on the front door step when he gets here... Upon learning that I was ill, the woman immediately began recommending various vitamins and hot teas to help me with my symptoms. I thanked her for her concern and the recommendations, and began to place my order: one large hot egg drop soup, a small order of crab rangoons, beef teriyaki, and vegetable fried rice. About 30 minutes goes by and finally the order gets here. I opened the bag, and was honestly stunned when I found that the woman had placed an assortment of 3 different large hot soups in the bag for me to try in order to help me feel better from the virus.. I just wanted to say that I have been crying for about 20 minutes now, and wanted to thank the lady and staff at Yang Ming for their generosity and the overall concern that they have for their customers.. Thank you for standing by your community and customers in a time of need. If I could give this place 10 stars, I certainly would... At a time when I can not even care for myself, Yang Ming cared for me... These are the kind of interactions between small business and customer that you can never forget. Was so excited to try the Yang Ming. Food looks so good on the website and Yelp! We ordered some to take out. The food is done well, except for the hot and sour soup which was thin, had almost no veggies or tofu in it and too much vinegar (very disappointing). Unfortunately there is so much oil/grease in the food we could not eat it. Not sure why they are cooking with so much grease, the food would be four or five stars if they eliminated 3/4 of the cooking oil/grease. read more

Oh I'm so disappointed!! We've been coming here for years and really enjoyed this place. We went last night and they were quite busy, our food arrived quickly and it was very good. My hubby asked for a refill on his soda, and was told 'no refill'. Well that's odd. He went to talk to the manager/owner and again was told 'no refill', he was also told that any refill he had in our past trips had been a courtesy. They charge about $1.50+ for a glass of soda - the typical watered down, too much ice, 3 sips your done size. It costs them pennies to fill that cup, offering refills is certainly not taking money out of their pockets. Sadly, were now looking for a new Chinese place. read more

We tried Yang Ming after reading it was the highest rated Chinese food place in NH. DISCLAIMER: That isn't saying much. Now, that aside, I have to say the food is pretty darn good for a typical Chinese take out place. Our first visit was a dine-in affair and I was thrilled. Since then we have gotten take out 5 or 6 times and it has always been decent. I give them credit for that as I have been disappointed by many, many places that can't seem to provide even the basics on a quality level. I mean, c'mon, what world do we live in when pork fried rice is hit and miss or when chicken fingers are dried out and lousy (looking at YOU Peking Garden of Andover). I need to drop a star as Yang Ming is far too inconsistent to deserve more than three. We've had some very good meals from Yang Ming. But we've had a few that were just so so. Yang Ming is the ONLY place to go for chinese/Japanease in the Southern NH area. There Sushi will knock your socks off, so fresh and delicious. I have eaten sushi in many major citys's throughout this country, and nothing tastes as good as it does at Yang's. The owners (May & Ping) are an adorable couple, that live in Chinatown in Boston and bring fresh fish and food to you daily. They are passionate about what they do and they are great about keeping you coming back for more. Vanessa, the bartender, is warm and inviting. She always greets you with a smile and is ready to take your drink order (if she hasent already mesmorized it). They serve up yummy house mia tia's any day of the week and if you look around the bar you get the idea that is what many people stop in frequently for.
