Wow, just moved to town and decided to try this restaurant. bought a bunch of appetizers. I took one bite of a boneless spare rib and ran to the trash and spit it out. It had to be rancid pork. I use to love going there. I have gone back two additional times hoping it was just a bad day. 2nd time I ordered a puppy platter. Chicken finger were half the size and so over cooked I threw them away. Spare ribs were gross no flavor and definitely not fresh. .visit number 2 I ordered the Golden Leaf noodle. The chicken was bad and a few pieces of the beef had a funky taste. There were barely any noodles. Boneless spare ribs went right into the trash!!!. The rice was the only thing edible. My family and I have gone and ate here for maybe 10 years now. Very reliable and quick, it's got the definition of fast food. I have heard stories of the main lady who works there being rude, but fortunately she loves my family (probably because we come here so much) so I haven't gotten anything but nice small talk. So let's put one thing into concrete, if you're looking for gourmet, clean, or anything above decent in the physical restaurant you will be disappointed. It's a not so clean, unprofessional like energy. There was a specific occasion that really disgusted me but the lady was wearing no gloves and touched my Moms duck sauce- like quite literally put her finger in it because it spilt a little over the edge of the container. She didn't realize I was right in front of her when this happened which was awkward afterwards. Their website and menus are very outdated, and unfortunately the main woman can be snarky. Also I'd say 90% of the time of me going in there, she's ALWAYS watching some sort of show or movie on her phone. Even when shes talking to me, or giving me my order. One great thing, the orders only take about 10-15 minutes until we can pick it up! I mean it's fast fast. Now for the main part- the food. It's good, honestly I'd give it a solid 7.5/10. I mean, that's why my family and I have been going here for ages now. Some items are much better than others, and there are some days where the food can be questionable, but for the environment you can't be expecting anything amazing. Their fried dumplings are not very fried.. like at all. Their chicken wings are very yummy, and I love the pork. Overall, with everything in mind it's a 6.5/10 type place. We ordered crispy walnut shrimp, steamed dumplings, scallion pancakes, General Gau's chicken and Tung Ting Shrimp. Each dish was hot and distinct in its own delicious sauce. So flavorful and fresh. The Shrimp dishes were loaded with medium sized shrimp. The Ting Tung Shrimp had plenty of crisp vegetables and a light white sauce. Not spicy and very fresh tasting. The walnut shrimp was in a light brown sauce loaded with crispy shrimp and walnuts, not spicy, just a little sweet. None of the dishes were heavy. The General Gau is a family favorite. We have plenty of leftovers too! This restaurant is a hidden gem. read more

We haven't been here in years since the other place opened up down the road. I found myself in the plaza needing lunch today and figured I'd give it another try. It is dimly lit, there was a guy sitting in the back eating who didn't even acknowledge my presence. Finally another lady came out and she was polite enough. I ordered a dinner plate with rice, chicken fingers, steak terryaki, and crab Rangoon. I also ordered an egg roll and small hot and sour soup. 1. Soup was good, it had a dark broth but was tasty. 2. The crab rangoons were delicious, the filling was good with lots of crab and onion and they were fries nice. 3. Everything else was gross the rice was dark and old, the chicken fingers had a weird texture, and the steak was fatty. The portions were odd, I've never seen rice come in the small part of the take out container? The meal all in all wasn't good the place was dingy and very cold inside. While eating I heard several large belch's come from the kitchen. We won't go back, they are definitely struggling to survive now that there is competition and they offer nothing that makes it worthwhile. read more

This is the most disgusting Chinese food I have ever had. The food was burnt in the poo poo platter and I had to throw it away because it looked like you could contract corona virus from this food. It was over cooked and a weird color. The house rice had raw onions in it and it was overpowering and gross. I usually go to Osaka and their food is delicious but they are closed because of corona. I will never go to this disease pit ever again as the food was weird and nasty. read more

I stopped here because I was in the area. Not being from this area I took a chance. I went in at 230 pm. No one was in here. The woman who waited on me for take out never got off the phone. I had to ask for clarification because the combo plate said One app came with it. When I asked she was like yeah yeah what u want. She needed to get back on her cell. Everything tasted as if it was reheated and old. Rice was 1/2 cup. ( i measured it when j got home cuz I had to know lol ). Seriously? When was the last time you got Chinese with a tiny portion of rice. It wasn't very good any way so they probably did me a fAvor. We order takeout from Golden Leaf a couple of times a month and always enjoy it. The Crab Rangoon and Fried Dumplings are always good. Some of our favorite main dishes are the orange chicken, shredded beef Szechuan style, chicken with garlic sauce, sautéed string beans, and Szechuan spicy chicken. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and greets us by name. To sum it up, this is a very solid takeout place. read more

This place had to have over 30 people in the small restaurant waiting for food. I called at 3pm for a 5pm pick up. I arrived at 5pm and didn't receive my food until almost 6. Countless other people came and went while I sat there with my 4 year old. Usually pretty happy with this place. After this I'm not sure I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

We recently returned from Florida (we are snowbirds) and went here for some take-out. I usually visit this restaurant 4 or 5 times each summer. I have to say that I was disappointed -- the food seems to have gone downhill over the past year. The food was very bland (I had the Chicago style chow mein). I don't know if they have new staff, or they just don't care, or if I just hit them on a bad day. I'll try them again, but if the food is bland and boring again then I'll have to find somewhere else to get my Chinese fare. read more

The Golden Leaf is not your typical Polynesian food that many in the US think of as Chinese food, it is different but extremely tasty and very good you just need be a little adventurous. The soups that I have had here are second to none. The Rice and Lo Main dishes are outstanding. Never had any issues with their Chicago Chow Meins, Egg Foo Young nor any other dishes. Great place with nice people working here. It has been closed for a few weeks now due to vacation is what the sign on the door says. I hope they come back soon since my wife, friends and I enjoy their take out. read more

Pretty good food at reasonable prices. Once in a while the chicken is tougher than I like but the risk is worth the reward.

This place sucks, we ordered take out for New Years and it was disgusting. I actually had to throw one of the sides outside it was so gross looking. I hate to give a bad review when so many like this place... I am new to the area and chose to try on good reviews but was extremely disappointed with lack of flavor and seasonings.. We got several different dishes and all tasted the exact same and no flavor! I asked for extra spicy on the sezchuan beef for my friend who likes really spicy and he said it wasn't even spicy and wouldn't of known what it was if I hadn't told him.. We added chili paste to his dish to add flavor! We got the Chicago style chow mein as someone said it was good, it had no real special taste and bland.. Also tried the veggie lomein and hardly any veggies at all in it, usually when I get it elsewhere it is loaded with nice crispy veggies, it was disappointing to say least.. Also got the tofu and vegetables as I am vegetarian, tasted like the chow mein and lomein, very bland and similar sauces.. Also had the hunan shrimp and my friend said it tasted the same as his beef dish.. Lastly we got an order of spring rolls and they were so greasy we ended up throwing them away after he took a bite and spit it out.. I had hoped by reviews this was at lease decent and could have few days of leftovers as we love Chinese leftovers, unfortunately it wasn't the case and threw it out.. I have been here a few times and the food was ok. This last time, the woman on the phone put me on "hold" and took orders from others in the restaurant and another phone line. When she finally got back to me, she was annoyed I wanted delivery and said she couldn't take my card over the phone because she was "too busy". I won't go here again. read more

I had the Hunan shrimp dinner combo with an egg roll. The Hunan sauce is supposed to be spicy but was pretty flavorless. The amount of food that you get for 9 dollars is about half of what you get for the same price at other Chinese takeout restaurants. When I first opened the styrofoam container, I smelled peanuts, which are not usually in Hunan sauce, but I'm not allergic so I ate it anyway, only to find out that the smell was from the egg roll melting the styrofoam. Reviews and opinions on food is obviously subjective, but having tried so many different Chinese restaurants in the area these folks are better than most. No doubt about it. And great people as well.
