I was unimpressed with this place. We placed an order for chicken with broccoli and seafood delight. Instead of chicken the server brought us beef with broccoli so that delayed our dinner. Seafood delight other than very salty was tasteless or at least we could get any flavor other than salt. Place seems busy and very popular at the bar area. read more

Sushi is always very fresh, service is fast and they have the best wonton soup! Ambiance is generally pretty peaceful not super loud.

Still a nice clean place for great food, and ok drinks. The service is excellent and the only negative I would add is that like many places the portions are getting smaller while the prices are getting higher. read more

Really good sushi! They are reasonably priced and give you a good amount of food. The rice was very fresh and service was great. The ambiance is pretty old school reminds me of the 90s but overall I'd come back. Plenty of parking and it's a big place so it can fit a lot of people if you have a family dinner or gathering. read more

I have gotten take-out from Asahi several time and have not been disappointed. The food is very good- I particularly like the Crab Rangoons and LoMein. The boneless ribs tend to be a little dry. The restaurant is large with a full bar. I have to say that the staff was extremely organized this past New Year's Eve with many patrons picking up food to go. I am happy that Asahi is located close to me so I can frequent them on a regular basis. Recommended. read more

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful while we ordered. I'd give them five stars also. The reason for three stars is because we also ordered gluten-free Chinese food that wasn't actually gluten-free. Someone in our party suffered an allergic reaction after consuming the Szechuan chicken dish. I wasn't crazy about the pad Thai, which was prepared without any sauce. Not great. I wouldn't recommend coming here for hibachi. The rice tasted burnt and the chicken was very dry. They did put some soy sauce to mask the dryness but overall it was not great. However the price for my boyfriend and my dinner came out to $58 dollars plus tax(which is not bad). We also ordered a side of Crab Rangoons and they were very delicious and I loved them. The service was good and my waitress never missed a beat. Our cups were never empty and she checked on us very often. The place seemed like very calm, similar to a hole in the wall. This rating is for sushi only. I love sushi places that give a free appetizer and this one did. I'm not sure if that is because we sat at the sushi bar or not. Omg this is the place to go if you want Chinese Food. The best I know an could think of there General Taos Chicken is thee best. Crispy outside with fresh white chicken inside an the sause is to die for. Big plus there service in dining room is top notch best I've seen in a long time. Our first visit to Asahi in Londonderry... Was greeted as we walked in the door asking if we would like a table, but we opted to sit at the bar. Drinks were very good and Food was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and took good care of us... We could tell this bar had a neighborhood feel to it.. It appeared to have lots of locals and a few reached out to us and chatted. Everything was good. We didn't get the lunch buffet but opted to order from the menu. Fresh cut veggies and meal was hot. The fries rice was yummy. Everything seemed to not be overly oily either. I got chicken hibachi lunch special and the miso was good too. My friend order the sesame chicken and that was really good too. We also got the shrimp and veggie tempura. Hot babe roll was great, very different twist on normal spicy tuna. Rock N Roll was another great roll, and cheap. Another twist on spicy tuna roll. We've been getting Asahi fairly often now for the past few months. It has been very consistently good. The menu is mostly Japanese, but they do excellent Chinese food (not sure if it's a fusion restaurant or not). We usually get the dinner portions of Chinese food. The ingredients are high quality, there's a lot of variety, and the vegetables are fresh (more fresh zucchini, red peppers, onions, broccoli, cabbage, scallions, rather than baby corn and bamboo shoots, etc.). The dinners (beef and garlic sauce, chicken with mixed vegetables, moo goo gai pan, beef and broccoli) are always filled with good vegetables and meat and the sauces are tasty. Pepper steak is a sea of red pepper and onion with savory slices of beef. The white rice is definitely a step up and tastes great even reheated. Their house special lo mein is delicious, they do a great job with the noodles, and there's a really nice mix of veggies and meat. The pork fried rice is pretty much perfect. The rice they use is good, there's plenty of "fixins" (scallion, scrambled egg, peas, carrots) to make it look really visually appealing and taste really great. Only Chinatown has better pork fried rice (that almost smoky or roasted sesame oil flavor). The apps are exactly what you want. Great teriyaki, egg rolls, crab rangoon. I've also eaten at the buffet where they have really good pieces of sushi. They don't skimp on the buffet, sushi is great (not like some buffets that have tiny piece of fish and rice ball), there's a generous amount of seaweed salad, and also specialty rolls. Most or all of the Chinese apps are out. There's even a few "off menu" dishes like salt and pepper popcorn chicken (!!). The staff is very kind and warm and each time I've been there has been a great experience. read more

Speaking of rides, I find myself riding home when my wife calls me [hands free call] and asks about doing some Chinese take-out. Ooh. I ask her to place the order and I'll pick it up on my way home. Since she was already home, she found a coupon and took a picture of it. 10 bucks off 50+ and that's a good deal. I figured I could just show the picture and be told that I should bring it in next time - no sweat. Stuff Happens. Well let me tell you: STUFF HAPPENED. Show the picture and "Person A" just has to ask someone and "Person B" walks up and straight out says we can't accept that picture because people can just use that all the time for the discount. After explaining my situation, I was met with another refusal. I suggest that if my order was 50 dollars and I get 10 off AND I go to them every week with this scheme, it would result in $160 in revenue, a month, for them solely for my orders. "Person B" stared at me defiant. I said "So, you are telling me that I have to drive home and back to get the discount?" "Person B": Yes. Me: OK I drive home, grab the VALUPAK mailer, and drive back. This is to the dismay of my wife and I leave it at that. I come back and "Person A" and "Person B" are there. Great. I tell Person B that having to do this is horrible customer service and Person A cannot stop apologizing. Person A gets it. Person B doesn't get it. "Person B": I don't know what to do "Person A": You could be nicer... ? My order has now been readied for me and my discount applied. "Person B": "We took off a couple of extra dollars, but we didn't have to do that." Me, looking at "Person A", who is totally awesome and gets it: Please add 10 Dollars for a tip, then. "Person B" not understanding that this is all about the principle and that it costs more to acquire a new customer than to keep one: "... acting like a 10 year old." while shaking her head Moments go by like minutes until I realized she couldn't have been outwardly self-reflecting. |-| *Looking at Person B* |-| Me, after signing my receipt: Wait - did you just say I was "acting like a 10 year old?" |-| Person A": Yes. she did, and I am so sorry. Good sushi and good hibachi. Haven't tried much else, but so far it's pretty satisfying. Better than most in the area.
