I was unimpressed with this place. We placed an order for chicken with broccoli and seafood delight. Instead of chicken the server brought us beef with broccoli so that delayed our dinner. Seafood delight other than very salty was tasteless or at least we could get any flavor other than salt. Place seems busy and very popular at the bar area. read more

Did takeout from here once and am apprehensive to try again. It was $90 for crab rangoons and three special rolls. The dynamite and spicy tuna roll had hardly enough tuna to be recognizably tuna. Sushi is always very fresh, service is fast and they have the best wonton soup! Ambiance is generally pretty peaceful not super loud.

Still a nice clean place for great food, and ok drinks. The service is excellent and the only negative I would add is that like many places the portions are getting smaller while the prices are getting higher. read more

Really good sushi! They are reasonably priced and give you a good amount of food. The rice was very fresh and service was great. The ambiance is pretty old school reminds me of the 90s but overall I'd come back. Plenty of parking and it's a big place so it can fit a lot of people if you have a family dinner or gathering. read more

We've had takeout from here 2 times and both times we were underwhelmed. Service is good and food was hot but the flavors were mediocre compared to other places. I gave 4 stars because we like that we can get Sushi and Chinese at one place and there is no other reason to cut them down just because we didn't love it. read more

I have gotten take-out from Asahi several time and have not been disappointed. The food is very good- I particularly like the Crab Rangoons and LoMein. The boneless ribs tend to be a little dry. The restaurant is large with a full bar. I have to say that the staff was extremely organized this past New Year's Eve with many patrons picking up food to go. I am happy that Asahi is located close to me so I can frequent them on a regular basis. Recommended. read more

The sushi was absolutely five stars. I would order that again. It was fresh, flavorful and well portioned. More filling inside than rice. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful while we ordered. I'd give them five stars also. The reason for three stars is because we also ordered gluten-free Chinese food that wasn't actually gluten-free. Someone in our party suffered an allergic reaction after consuming the Szechuan chicken dish. I wasn't crazy about the pad Thai, which was prepared without any sauce. Not great. I wouldn't recommend coming here for hibachi. The rice tasted burnt and the chicken was very dry. They did put some soy sauce to mask the dryness but overall it was not great. However the price for my boyfriend and my dinner came out to $58 dollars plus tax(which is not bad). We also ordered a side of Crab Rangoons and they were very delicious and I loved them. The service was good and my waitress never missed a beat. Our cups were never empty and she checked on us very often. The place seemed like very calm, similar to a hole in the wall. This rating is for sushi only. I love sushi places that give a free appetizer and this one did. I'm not sure if that is because we sat at the sushi bar or not. Our sushi chef was kind and did a nice job. Presentation was nice with plenty of flavor. It wasn't too busy for a Wednesday evening which is to be expected. Our first visit to Asahi in Londonderry... Was greeted as we walked in the door asking if we would like a table, but we opted to sit at the bar. Drinks were very good and Food was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and took good care of us... We could tell this bar had a neighborhood feel to it.. It appeared to have lots of locals and a few reached out to us and chatted. Post Covid-19 Review. I am dropping a star. The Happy Family lacked flavor. The egg rolls taste different every single time you go there. The fried rice is still delicious but everything else, you'll never know until you put it in your mouth and for a local chinese/sushi joint, that is not what I am looking for. I will still buy from here because the sushi is not bad and it is quick and easy, but I sincerely hope they get their groove back. read more

Everything was good. We didn't get the lunch buffet but opted to order from the menu. Fresh cut veggies and meal was hot. The fries rice was yummy. Everything seemed to not be overly oily either. I got chicken hibachi lunch special and the miso was good too. My friend order the sesame chicken and that was really good too. We also got the shrimp and veggie tempura. Dropping a star after some lousy service at the bar and (separate instance) a disappointing lunch buffet - went in at 1pm and most dishes were picked over or empty. We've been getting Asahi fairly often now for the past few months. It has been very consistently good. The menu is mostly Japanese, but they do excellent Chinese food (not sure if it's a fusion restaurant or not). We usually get the dinner portions of Chinese food. The ingredients are high quality, there's a lot of variety, and the vegetables are fresh (more fresh zucchini, red peppers, onions, broccoli, cabbage, scallions, rather than baby corn and bamboo shoots, etc.). The dinners (beef and garlic sauce, chicken with mixed vegetables, moo goo gai pan, beef and broccoli) are always filled with good vegetables and meat and the sauces are tasty. Pepper steak is a sea of red pepper and onion with savory slices of beef. The white rice is definitely a step up and tastes great even reheated. Their house special lo mein is delicious, they do a great job with the noodles, and there's a really nice mix of veggies and meat. The pork fried rice is pretty much perfect. The rice they use is good, there's plenty of "fixins" (scallion, scrambled egg, peas, carrots) to make it look really visually appealing and taste really great. Only Chinatown has better pork fried rice (that almost smoky or roasted sesame oil flavor). The apps are exactly what you want. Great teriyaki, egg rolls, crab rangoon. I've also eaten at the buffet where they have really good pieces of sushi. They don't skimp on the buffet, sushi is great (not like some buffets that have tiny piece of fish and rice ball), there's a generous amount of seaweed salad, and also specialty rolls. Most or all of the Chinese apps are out. There's even a few "off menu" dishes like salt and pepper popcorn chicken (!!). The staff is very kind and warm and each time I've been there has been a great experience. read more
