$9.50 for a Mai Tai? Ouch! If you want premium liquor in your Mai Tai it's an extra $1.50. Ridiculous. The food is the same quality you can get at any other Asian place. Not impressed. Staff is really nice but it's an expensive dinner, especially if you order drinks. read more

Clean, food is always fresh, well staffed and never have to wait very long. Chinese is good, very much what you expect. The sushi is ok, they changed it up a bit when new owners took over. Not to say it dropped off but we liked the old owners take on the sushi better. read more

Tried Osaka after new owners took over the business and was pleasantly surprised with the upgrade of the service and quality of the food. Crab Rangoon, Beef Teriyaki, all of the rice's and a delicacy of the chicken teriyaki Really Great my current favorite. Service rated as excellent. The current manager Rainey is an excellent manager and Add's to the ambiance of the restaurant. Also, it is nice to see a restaurant that actually puts alcohol in their drinks as I rate as superb. Osaka in Hampstead NH. My go to is M6 a combo of crab rangoon, egroll, chicken fingers, and steak teriyaki, w an order of pork egg foo yong. Delicious. They have many other offerings, and I have to say I did not care for the texture of the beef curry, but for the items listed above I have to get my fill before heading back to Florida where you cannot get Chinese food! read more

Went there a couple days ago. First we shared some crab rangoon. They were very good. Husband got pepper steak. I got shrimp egg foo yung and we shared some pork fried rice. The egg foo yung came with yellow gravy! What the heck is up with that? I'd never seen gravy that color. It wasn't the best I'd ever had but wasn't the worst either. Since having the pepper steak, by husband can't stat out of the bathroom. Stomach cramps, etc. I'm glad I didn't eat any of the pepper steak! Ya, we won't be going back there. read more

They are under new management. Rainey the bartender is fantastic. The Chinese food stayed about the same as prior management, but they also have a huge selection of sushi. I've tried a few dishes and they were very good. It's a shame they are in a strip mall that the state gave up on a very convenient liquor store though. read more

Terrible experience at Osaka. After 15 minutes of sitting at the table, they finally took our order. After not getting anything 1/2 hour after ordering no food. The waiter kept saying 3 more minutes. We walked out. Don't waste your time. Awful service. read more

Really burnt and dry teriyaki--really terrible, the worst I've ever had actually. I'd be embarrassed to serve such low quality food. I won't be going back there again and advise you to go elsewhere for good Asian cuisine. read more

I like Asian food, but for some reason most Asian restaurants discount the value of Garlic, Ginger and Oyster sauce, a staple in real Asian cooking and replace all three with sugar. Not to single out Osaka particularly , but their food, like most here in America, lacks the depth and freshness of true Asian cuisine and falls short to expectations and copies the formulaic american trickery of sugar makes everything taste good but not to me anyway. My wife is Chinese and is far more brutal than I am. Needless to say Osaka is the run of the mill industrialized bland Asian restaurant fitting into the usual low expectations of sugar addicted Americans and lackluster recipes. Without Garlic, Ginger , oyster sauce and the myriad of fermented sauces available to make absolutely delicious Chinese food , most of these types of restaurants cook up Americanized, low brow, run of the mill in-distinctive syrupy glop. On the plus side nothing was greasy. Syrupy, bland and in-distinctive overly sweet glop. What Americans like. My wife, who is Chinese, well she hated it. read more

My first time coming here after reading reviews. First, let me say that the portions were very generous in my take out and hot still when I got back to Raymond. As to the food, here is my review; unfortunately, for me it lacked flavor. The pork egg foo young was way over cooked so that it was dry and even with orange colored gravy on it was not flavorful. Most places provide a more beef like gravy. This was more orange colored and sweet. The lo mien was also rather flavorless and lacking the pieces of pork. The rice was way too heavy on the brown coloring. So, the portions were good, the price was good, but they were lacking in quality of food. I will try them again and order something else and hope that is is not over cooked and more flavorful read more

Not to impressed, we got some take out, mostly appetizers and 1 meal. The soups ( wonton and Hot and Sour) were good . My chicken wings were overcooked and dry. The Crab Rangoon was a little soggy. My wife's meal was supposed to come with white rice which they forgot. My Lo Mein was ok. Very disappointed with what happened to us Christmas Eve. We called and spoke to a girl and asked if we needed a reservation to come eat there. She says no it's just first come first serve. So we said ok. We were going to have a party of 6 but knowing that it's a small restaurant we changed our plans. We get there and we're told they are only doing take out orders. Ok so we've tried and tried, $50 on takeout tonight and these are the issues: 1. Chicken Fingers - there were five in the order, because they were 3.0" around with batter and 4"-5" long. The texture was awful, like old chicken and they were just sooooo big with batter, very unappetizing. 2. Pork Fried Rice - not fresh, tasted old. 3. Egg Roll - horrible off putting taste as if the cabbage or something else in it was spoiled or on the way out 4. Crab Rangoon - not very full and nothing but cream cheese inside 5. Chicken teriyaki - great 6. The guy who answered the phone isn't one of the usual people, he was rude and not verify pleasant. We've supported this place since they opened through good and bad....were not doing it anymore. We will go somewhere else. read more

We order food from Osaka about once a month and I'm generally satisfied even if something is not quite right.....This evening I called to complain (rare for me with takeout) about some horrible chicken fingers and to ask for some satisfaction on my next visit or at least a "sorry". This was my 2nd bad order of fingers in a row and the third in the last year. I always give a place the benefit of an off night. These were the worst I have ever had anywhere horribly overlooked and dry tough chicken- tooth breaking and inedible. I will normally eat even awful food because of my upbringing and because I paid for it and hate to waste food. The manager I spoke with asked and then told me the following... were they chewy ?...Some people have different tastes...I was told it was happenstance my food was overcooked.... it was probably the last of the batch of chicken fingers...they were running out of food (5pm) and no we're not going to make it right. I was floored with the cavalier attitude...If I was dining in, I would have received a fresh order or at least had them subtract from the bill BUT...because it's takeout I have to sit still for this? That's BS... All the rest of my dishes were delicious and I will no doubt go back when the pain subsides but never to have chicken fingers again. Crappy soup Nazi attitude and lack of quality customer service leaves a bad taste in my mouth for a guy who was so happy when they opened several years ago and became a regular....but now I'll go back to my other options even though a longer drive. read more

Terrible service and poor quality food. Got Salmon sushi and the salmon was ground up like tuna.

IMO, the best Chinese food you can find in the Sandown/Hampstead area. We stick with the few things we know are good, including the Moo Shu and House Special Pan fried noodles. I have gotten takeout from here twice and both times it was a fabulous experience. They have a separate entrance for takeout so you don't have to wait with customers dining in. It's very expedient. Both times my food was hot and ready when I walked in and everything was perfect, fresh, and DELICIOUS!!! BEST BEEF TERIYAKI I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! It was so tender and flavorful. Our favorite place to go for delicious Japanese food - superb sushi and sashimi. We always order their hot saki and it is sooo GOOD. The scorpion bowl for two is festive and sweet. The Pu-Pu platter is fun to eat and the fried rice is scrumptious. The white rice is always cooked correctly and goes well with any meal. Recently went back to eat inside. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken again and was still unimpressed. Also as one reviewer stated, Hibachi may be in the name, but this is nothing like Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in Salem NH. This is just a simple Chinese takeout place with average food quality. They don't have a clue as to how to serve/service restaurant clientele. The "wait staff" is not qualified to bus tables. They have NO clue as to basic manners, food protocol...nothing. Its as if they have never even seen proper service. Its enough to keep me away except for extreme sushi emergencies. Check your order before leaving ! If you call back when you get home, they'll offer a "credit" for your next take-out order, probably hoping you'll forget.
