I've always enjoyed Osaka's menu. However, even though tonight's sashimi was tasty the portions were small for 18.99$. Only soup or salad as a side. My son had a Chinese entree which was a lunch size portion and the smallest box of rice..great size for one child! Two delicious but small egg rolls. My son added on a small soup. The total order came to just under 40$. There has definitely been change in the portion sizes. However, the small portions are too pricey. I have been a regular customer over the years, but when we had to have pizza after Osaka meal tonight, it may be the last meal from Osaka! read more

Im not sure what the people below are talking about, but the portions are pretty big. I got the chicken and veggies (small) and couldn't finish half of it...it was decent. Not overly salty, its a local chinese food place so you definitely get what you pay for. Supplied us with plenty of rice as well. The dumplings were okay but too doughy. I have had a lot better. Grabbed chopsticks and got a splinter! Overall decent for a lazy Sunday when I didn't want to cook. read more

Ordered cashew chicken but they so heavily floured or battered the chicken it didn't actually look, taste or have the texture of chicken! It was like eating mushy fried batter soaked with sauce. Gone here many times and always was happy. Today was different. Beef and broccoli was ordered and the beef was disgusting. I had to spit it out into my napkin. We told the server and he went out back. We didn't want anything new but just wanted them to be aware of it. But then an older woman comes out yelling in her native language at the guys at the bar. They made it blantly obvious that it was about us BECAUSE THEY KEPT GLANCING OUR WAY!! Every time someone would walk by, they took a glance at the plate. Our waiter and another gentleman (both kind), asked if we wanted to replace with something else. We kindly declined. But this old hag and another older gentleman kept throwing mean glances at us like we were at fault. Only reason I give it two stars was for our waiter and random guy at the bar. This is a nice Chinese/Japanese restaurant close to where we live in Sandown. Always great service and yummy food choices. They do offer No MSG which is an absolute slam dunk for my family. Absolutely worth a visit. read more

After moving from a big city where there is a chinese food restaurant in every neighborhood, I was impressed to know that there was an actual Chinese food restaurant in this small area. The food at Osaka is very fresh, and tasty. My favorite are their crab rangoons and Shrimp w/ Broccoli. Egg rolls are also excellent, among other things. Awful food. I live in the area and was excited when I heard about this place and was hopeful they would have decent food. I ordered Kung Pow chicken and chicken teriyaki and as others complained the portions were very small. The kung pow chicken had no flavour, it was barely covered I sauce which made it dry. The teriyaki chicken was pasty and just awful. There are better Chinese and Asian restaurants In the area. Golden leaf for one is decent. read more

We have only done Chinese takeout from Osaka but we've definitely been pleased with everything we've tried so far. Reasonable prices and decent portion sizes. We've tried fried rice, lo mein, egg rolls, egg foo yong (sauce was separate which was excellent!), and a bunch of other items. We'll be back again! read more

It's alright. It is cheap and easy Chinese food and they just added sushi. Haven't tried that yet as I prefer a place in epping when the craving hits. I have had one horrible experience here where I am convinced the food made me sick... and have another 20+ times before that where the food was fine. It's convenient, fast, lots of choices, and good pricing... in a hurry, I wouldn't say don't try it but I wouldn't suggest it as a go to place. read more

I've been going there for a few years and the food has been ok.I've always thought the tip jar on the counter was for the girl working the desk answering the phones and taking care of take out well i found out recently i was wrong that tip jar is actually for the owner if you want to tip the girl you have to hand it to her, i always thought the owners tip was me being a customer, needless to say i'll never go back again for being so deceitful to the customers. Poor girls probably make minimum wage and the owners have a tip jar on the take out counter ridiculous. read more

I've eaten here a couple of times now since moving to the area. The sushi and starters aren't too bad but the Chinese combo meals are pretty consistently terribly. We've tried pretty simple dishes like sesame chicken and General tsos and it was still awful. The decent sushi keeps this rating at an overall 3 stars. read more

I called in for a take out order for lunch. While driving to come pick it up, my 2 year old fell asleep in the car. I don't feel comfortable leaving him alone in the car and I didn't want to wake him up. I called and told them my problem and they said for me to just park in front of the restaurant and they'd deliver the food to my car! I'm so thankful that they did this for me! I have no idea what the people below are looking for in a Chinese Restaraunt. The food was fast, the service good, and portions were big. I ordered for Christmas eve for a party of 15 and we had TONS left, and everyone liked it. If you want gourmet, maybe try Boston but if you want the norm, this place fits the bill! read more

They do a great job. For typical American Chinese food, they have high quality product. Tried quite a bit of thier food and never had a bad experience. Best off to order individual dishes rather than the lunch or dinner specials. The lunch specials are huge and not expensive but the individual dishes seem fresher. .Went to Osaka restaurant..heard great things..ordered from both the Japanese and Chinese food menus. My sushi was mushy and not made as described...pork fried rice dry and pork chewy..oh and spicy salmon skin handroll was not salmon skin but rather pureed salmon no spice. Beef teriyaki had the texture of beef jerky.so I called asking to speak to a mgr..they put on the phone a young woman who stated she could speak on behalf of mgmt...she listened to my comments said she was sorry..then hung up!!!! Will not be going there again, really disappointed on all fronts. read more

I ordered food for my a family visit on 2/9. Over $60 for take out and the food was disgusting. It was undercooked and smelled funny. Mei Fun, Lo Mein, Boneless Spareribs, Egg Rolls, Beef w/broccoli and Sesame Chicken. All of it was bad. The first time in my life (49 years of it) we decided the safe thing to do was throw it out. I will never return to nor recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stay away for your own safety. read more

I've eaten there twice and both times the portions were very small compared to other chinese food restaurants in the area. The first time I ate there, I ordered the pan fried noodles with vegetables. There was less than a 1/2 cup of noodles in the container (I know - I measured it) and less than 1 cup of stir-fried vegetables - for $9.00. Now, I don't eat a lot, but even I was left hungry after finishing this entree. We also tried an appetizer plate consisting of boneless spare ribs, beef terriyaki, chicken wings and fried rice. Again, not only was the portion size very small, but the chicken wings and spare ribs were very small in size as well, like baby size drumettes(nothing like the huge sized wings & ribs you get at Lucky Corner, Lucky Dragon or even Golden Leaf ). Also, I asked if I could substitute the fried rice that came with the appetizer plate for plain noodles and I was told I would have to pay an additional $4.50 because the noodles were more expensive - the appetizer plate was already $8.50. When I said forget it the whole order, I'll go next door and order from them, the Osaka order taker said okay and she let us go. She didn't even try to keep our business. This place has only been open for less than a month so you might think they'd want to ensure repeat customers by giving out decent portions, at least in the beginning, and not charge customers that you want to come back outrageous amounts to substitute an already inexpensive item like rice or noodles. I can assure you, this customer won't be going back to Osaka. I can get more food for less money at Lucky Corner and I don't mind driving the extra 15 minute to get it. The portions are not only larger at Lucky Corner, but the food tastes way better there too. I don't think Osaka will be in business for too long with the way they are turning off customers. Osaka - your food isn't that good that I can't get the same thing for less money down the street. read more

Food is decent. Service is hit or miss. I've gotten phone orders home twice and it's wrong. Shame on me for not checking first before leaving. Sushi was ok. Chicken curry is the only thing I get that's always good when they don't mess up my order and include what I've asked for. We went to Osaka for the first time tonight. We were surprised to see how very busy it was but considered that a good sign. There was only one tiny table left in the dining room so we sat at the sushi bar. There was only one waiter working but he was doing his best to take care of everything. He was very pleasant in spite of being constantly on the run. The bartender, also very nice, took our order to help out the waiter. We ordered Miso soup, shumai, dumplings (fried), a spider roll and a dinner of pork egg foo yung, with crab Rangoon and pork fried rice. The spider roll, shumai, and miso soup were outstanding. The crab Rangoon was good and I did not eat the dumplings, though there were no complaints from my husband. The egg foo yung was not great, not the best I have had but I was stuffed with shumai by the time it arrived. I also was underwhelmed with the pork fried rice which seemed to only be rice with little pieces of pork in it: no egg or onion or bean sprouts all of which make me happy when I see them in fried rice. Maybe the specialties here are the Japanese food. All in all, we had a most enjoyable experience and do recommend you give them a try. We will most certainly return to enjoy the wonderful sushi bar and maybe give some different Chinese offerings a try. read more

We have gone back here many times and we are always satisfied - the food is fresh and very good. My wife and I both like their menu (I love Egg Fu Young) and we have found them friendly along with the great food and good prices. Highly recommend and we are both fussy. By the way I never rate anything 5 star unless I am blown away - so a 4 star means we are very satisfied!! read more
