My "regular" chinese place for probably going on fifteen years. Consistent, tasty Chinese take-out at a decent price. I usually opt for their combo meals and it's a great way to scratch a Chinese food itch for about $13 or under. With food prices rising lately some items have gone up but it's to be expected. I would consider the place a take-out only deal. Although, they do have tables in the dining area they end up mostly being used by staff and the owners' children. For me, this definitely adds to the overall ambiance of the place. Being from Cali, where American Chinese fast food is a great way to ball out on a budget, this restaurant is fantastic! The first time I was here, I had their dinner special and thought it tasted delicious for the price, quantity, and quality. I got it again and ordered the beef and broccoli with pork fried rice and boneless spareribs for less than $13. The spareribs were the appetizer, so there was a decent amount of it. But there was a lot of rice and beef and broccoli to make two meals out of this order. I definitely could've mixed my own white rice with theirs and added fried eggs to make a third The staff was incredibly polite! I remember the first I was there, I was looking up at the pictures to decide want I wanted to get and a little girl came from behind the register and gave me a menu. We were in the mood for hot and sour soup and a few appetizers, which consisted of eggroll, chicken, teriyaki, and dumplings. The soup was kind of OK, the eggroll I've definitely had better, the dumplings were chewy, and not in a good way, and the chicken teriyaki was so over cooked that we had to throw out 60% of it. End it took them 25 minutes to prepare this little order. And the thing that really upset me was that if you used a credit card you incurred a 4% surcharge. Nice way to make a profit because I have worked retail in the past and if you are paying 4% by the credit card service company you are a lousy business person. read more

We saw the pictures of the over cooked inedible chicken. We thought 5 years is a long time, things can change. Unfortunately we were wrong. The general tso chicken dinner was over cooked, but had good flavor. The chicken was very dry and low quality. The pork fried rice had over cooked pork. The chow mein was okay, but was runny and lacked flavor. We won't be coming back, but the dinner was cheap. If you are looking for a cheap Chinese place and flavor or quality aren't in your agenda then by all means try this place. read more

On the way home, I got off the 101 and I grabbed some dinner takeout from China Jade on a recent weeknight. China Jade is located in a little strip plaza near the Wal-Mart Supercenter. China Jade offers a very basic Chinese menu including 19 combination platters which come with choice of rice and choice of one appetizer. The prices during Lunch hours (11:30AM-3:00PM) are $5.25-$5.45 then they jack the price up for Dinner to $7.75-$7.95 for essentially the same amount of food for Lunch. Self serve ice cream treats are offered too! I ordered the #11 Shrimp Lo Mein ($8.37 with tax) with pork fried rice & 2 beef teriyakis. The service was quick, no doubt! When I got home to eat, I got a very modest portion of food for the price. The Lo Mein had very little shrimp & vegetables, mostly noodles & soy sauce. The soy sauce covered pork fried rice had plenty of fatty pork cubes. The beef teriyakis were sweet and tender, but not much meat on the sticks, compared to other Chinese restaurants. DE LIC IOUS I've been dying for the perfect general tso's chicken ever since I moved away from Brooklyn. And I found it! This was not soggy, oily, standard-issue General tso's. The chicken was fried up fresh and covered in a thick, sweet chili sauce with whole chilies as well as seeds. It was gooey and crunchy, sweet and spicy, and zesty at the same time. The pieces of chicken were small, but plentiful and not fatty at all. I ordered mine with white rice (perfectly cooked) and crab Rangoon (3 large). That's a ton of food for $7. What else? The cashier was very polite, and the place was very clean--even the kitchen, all of which is visible when ordering. All sauce food was runny and the scallion pancake was greasy. Portions are smaller but there prices are smaller as well so understand when ordering, not normal portions. I don't like when you go to a place and it's the business owners daycare place as well where the kids are playing house at the tables. This is a fast food Americanized Chinese resistant. That being said, the food is delicious. In New Hampshire there are so many burger and pizza joints and the Chinese, I find, is mediocre. Here it's tasty, quickly made, and affordable. Had their sesame chicken and a chicken lo mein. The egg roll was huge, crunchy, but lacked flavor. The rest of the meal was great. Lunch portions were huge, though it's a lot of the rice you get, as opposed to the entree. Still though, the was just the right amount of that. The place is divey, so take it is probably the best route to go because a place to have a private meal it is not. Love this place. read more

The China Jade - A convenient hop off of the 101 in Epping serving up your typical Chinese-American menu with varying quality depending on what you order. While their food isn't the best it's not bad either. What sets them apart from other places is the operator's attitude which is always cheerful and courteous. In these days of having customer clerks barely looking in your direction with replies of, "Yeah" to a customer's "thank you" I appreciate and reward with repeat business a shop that extends a gracious customer service spirit. The food: I generally order an appetizer or two and maybe a smalls soup. Chicken teriyaki: generous and tasty. Beef teriyaki: Tasty but not so generous. Most of the entree items I've tried have good portions and the quality is near or above average. I've not ever experienced the long wait times other Yelpers have mentioned; in fact, I've never waited longer than 10-minutes for an order. Tried this for the first time about 2 weeks ago early afternoon. I got the sweet 'n sour chicken and an order of chicken fried rice, both large size. The portion size was about normal and the chicken was a 7 maybe 7.5 on a ten scale, the major drawback to it scoring higher was the sweet 'n sour sauce had no vegetables. No pineapple, nothing in it and completely lacked any flavor other than overly sweet. The chicken fried rice scored a 2.5 out of 10, very bland in flavor and so greasy I didnt even finish it and ended up tossing the leftovers. The place seemed clean enough, the atmosphere more utilitarian and geared for takeout than dining in, the help was super freindly but overall not an experience I will be repeating anytime soon. read more

I'm really surprised at the reviews. Granted I only ordered from here once but my dad orders from here many times. I was dying for some chinese since Florida seems to lack anything compared to Boston Chinese food. I figured we would order some from where we always used to go but he said he has taken a liking to this place. We ordered a PuPu platter for two and a pork fried rice. Was ready at pickup and we took it back to his house. Food was still very hot after a 15 minute drive and tasted freshly made and was delicious. Chicken wings were cooked perfectly. The spare ribs just sealed the deals. Tender, moist and not the slightest bit chewy. I thought it was well worth the money. read more

This is an excellent place to get Chinese food. The restaurant is very clean and organized with a large area to eat in if you wish. The food quality is way above average Chinese food in the New Hampshire area and is surprisingly affordable. Take out is very quick during lunch hours. Seriously!!!! What is up with this place???? Before you even finish reading this, if you are on your way out the door at this moment for some Chinese in Epping, please redirect yourself immediately to either the Lucky Fortune or the Orient Pearl. Now..I've had better Chinese food, that is for sure. There is just something about the grease/oil that is used at this location that disagrees with me and makes the food so very heavy. The first time I ordered here I bought steamed veggies and lo mien noodles. The lo mien was covered in a syrup like grease coating that had a strange hollow tang to it for which I was not prepared. The veggies also seemed to suffer from a coating of this odd oil substance. The second time I ordered from this restaurant, I was "over it" but was badgered into it by the group I was with. I thought I'd be smart and go for the brown rice this time and a agreed to split some General's chicken with someone. By the time we got back home, the light fluffy brown rice I was expecting to eat had some sort of liquid oil leakage all the way through it's container. Two bites into the General's and I know it was all over. The staff took so long to complete our order that the sauce on the General's had time to harden into a Jell-o like texture. The cooking methods here are just very heavy handed. After eating even a small to moderate amount of food here, I feel like I'm walking around with a hockey puck stuck in my abdomen. The other thing, the wait time for my food here has always been much longer than at other local Chinese restaurants. And the price hike from lunch to dinner is so silly, there is really no difference in the lunch/dinner offerings except for price. read more

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Epping proper, I particularly love their beef terriyaki, which is flavorable and meaty and their chicken fingers which have a light colored breading and nicely fried. I have lived in Epping for going on 4 years. I haven't been able to find a Chinese Food place that I liked. One night about 2 months ago I had a craving and decided to try China Jade. Other than the Pork Fried Rice, which is very good, everything else is made to order. I am very picky when it comes to Chinese Food and China Jade has become my new weekly favorite. When will I learn. The vast majority of store front wok places are terrible. This one is no exception. Had a small wonton soup. The broth was like dishwater and wontons were to big for a single bite . The plastic spoon was so flimsy you couldn't cut them and there was no other utensils. When the small chicken & broccoli came ( in a to go box ) I was dumbfounded. It tasted awful and it was just chicken, broccoli . It would have been nice if there were some onions and mushrooms just to round it out. These places exist to wok up the food and get it out the door. I paid about 8.00 for junk. Oh, by the way. When i threw out my table trash I noticed the absolute grime on the trash receptacle. I question the cleanliness of the staff, kitchen, etc. I'd avoid this place ! Back on the road now. We were on our way home to Lee, from Boston, driving up 125 so we stopped into China Jade for takeout. It is located right when you get off 101 and in a little (newish) strip mall across from Lowes and next to Applebees. When we walked in, what we noticed first were the fairly high prices. The meals were $8.95 to $10. A.) This is takeout. B.) This is Epping, NH not dowwntown Boston. However, we ordered a few small sides (Egg Foo Young, Egg Rolls, Rice, Lo Mein and a Spicy Chicken and Veggies). It came to almost $30. To start, the portions were all tiny. The Egg Foo Young had two small servings (not three per usual); the Egg Rolls were like half-size portions, containing mostly sprouts, almost no pork, and the Lo Mein, while okay, was about enough for one person. But the biggest outrage was the spicy chicken veggie side. It was all chicken fat and skin with a few veggies sprinkled in. Beside almost throwing up, it made us very cautious of all the other food as well. We literally picked through the egg rolls, foo young, etc - not sure what we're going to find next. Overall the meal did not satisfy at all, as it barely fed two people for an average of $15. Not to mention we wasted one entire side. We could have eaten out at the Applebees for about the same price with service, drinks and dessert. Stay away from China Jade. read more
