We all took the next day lunch. Dad really enjoyed the Orange Shrimp! Made especially for me And Him. One of his favorite that they took the time to make. (Even though it wasn't on the menu!) The woman behind the counter was awesome. She checked in with me every few minutes as they were cooking. We don't typically order Chinese food because it usually ends up being very mediocre. Not at Sun Sun! Last night we decided to try them since it was my sister's birthday, and it's what she wanted. We ordered a few dishes along with a PuPu platter. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I won't go dish by dish but one of the sides that stood out was the vegetable fried rice. The veggies were big and crunchy; not tiny diced bits. Truthfully, I was hoping for a good meal, and to my surprise, it was excellent. We will be repeat customers. read more

I was a big fan of the original Dim Sum and Sun Sun is even better! I walked in to see that the building was spotless, and had undergone a cool refresh to its layout. The owner at the front was incredibly kind, accommodating, and thoughtful taking my order. I ordered both the D9 & D12 dinner plates as well as a small crab Rangoon, and a small fried dumpling. Let me start by saying that the original Dim Sum had the most crispiest, spiciest, and genuinely perfect General Gao I have ever had. They always put it in the paper box which maintained its crisp and it was something to behold. So this Gao had a lot to live up to....and passed with flying colors! I ordered it extra crispy and extra spicy and it was fantastic. 11 out of 10! The pork fried rice was the perfect color, very flavorful with pork, egg, and some onion. The crab Rangoon were fantastic. This style of batter and fold on the wonton is my favorite style. The filling was cheesy and sweet. EVERYTHING we ate from the Gao to the Dumplings was great. The portions are on the larger side and you can tell that they use fresh oil to fry their food and take great care to provide an excellent product. This is by far the best Chinese food restaurant in Derry and the surrounding towns. read more

I tried Sun Sun for the first time today after hearing so many people in town rave about it, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the D15 beef with mushrooms, boneless ribs, and an egg roll. I asked for it spicy, and they made it just right. The portion sizes are HUGE -- my beef dish came packed with mushrooms, green peppers, onions, water chestnuts, carrots, and snow peas. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Honestly, I could get three meals out of just this one order . The food here is fantastic and vibrant. Visiting from California, I was not expecting much from a Chinese restaurant here but this went beyond my expectations. I loved every item I ordered. The appetizers are similar to the dimsum at tea houses and taste extremely authentic. The eggrolls were crispy and packed with meat and veges. The chicken feet were saucy and flavorful. The sweet and sour pork is better than Panda Express. The store doesn't have much seating but it's very cozy and great for taking home. Sun Sun Chinese Restaurant opened in the former Crispy Delight/Dim Sum Restaurant building across from McDonald's. This small Chinese restaurant is geared towards takeout which has very limited seating, 2 small tables. The food menu is the usual small town New England style Chinese American fare including lunch specials (until 3pm), all day combos, fried appetizers, soups, teriyakis, chicken wings, noodle & rice dishes, chow mein, chop suey and beef, pork, chicken & seafood dishes. They can prepare your food without MSG upon request. The pricing is moderate (most dishes $12-$20 range) and comparable relative to other Chinese places in the Derry area. A 3.5% fee is added if paying by card. I stopped by on their first official day of business (10/11/2024) for dinner takeout. I ordered the D8 Kung Pao Shrimp Ding with Pork Fried Rice, 3 Crab Rangoons & Egg Roll ($14.45 plus tax in 2024), which was ready in about 9 minutes after ordering. The amount of food was generous with the Kung Pao Shrimp Ding & Pork Fried Rice filling up the square box and fried appetizers in a separate wax bag. The oils from the main entree box actually seeped out and the paper bag & cardboard bottom were absorbing a lot of the oil. The Kung Pao dish was oily and had baby shrimp (cleaned), celery, mushrooms, water chestnuts, zucchini, peanuts, onions, & peppers, prepared mild. The dark pork fried rice was soft and had small pieces of roast pork. The crab rangoons were filled well with a hot cream cheese filling with small bits of imitation crabmeat in crispy fried triangle shell. The egg roll had shredded cabbage, ground pork and spices in a crisp rolled fried shell. Overall, the food I ordered was not fancy and tasted good for typical New England style Chinese food. I ate my hot food at my home instead of sitting at a typical townie Chinese restaurant bar lounge with strong drink where this food would seem very fitting. They don't serve alcohol at this takeout place. read more

Don't judge by the outside. Everything was delicious, fresh, made to order, and didn't feel "heavy". (ribs, wings, fingers, lo mein, pork rice, kung pao chick, beef teriyaki). If ordering a few apps/meals, expect 30-40 min for the freshness. It's not sitting around under warmers like the usual "15-20 min- no matter what you order" take out! Finally don't have to drive to Amherst (from Derry) to get good chinese food :) read more

My husband's father came over our house for a visit and picked up a PuPu Platter with some pork fried rice as Sun Sun was on the way and convenient. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food as the portions were generous. The pork fried rice was of the classic New England style dark with eggs, bean sprouts, small pieces of pork, with some peas and carrots. It was very tasty. All of the items were very tasty. We probably would not have opted to choose this restaurant if we were to order from our normal go-to. We will definitely be ordering from here again. Looking forward to trying new items. read more

Went here for the first time on Saturday and the food sizes were bigger than any other place we went to and the food was amazing. Not to mention they gave us free house fried rice and 2 liter bottle of soda because we had a big order. What a nice touch .
