The food was decent however, it was not it for me. The sushi here was very disappointing, I tried a bite and found myself spitting it out. The service seemed okay, a lady helped out with the dishes after I was done with my meal. The ambiance of this buffet felt unsettling, with the fact that there are fish out in-front by tables where you to eat.

a plate of noodles and vegetables

The main reason for the stars was the stir fry that you can get prepared by the chef. It's almost like this salad bar but for chow mien/pad thai type of noodles that you prepare yourself. All different meats, veggies and noodles and once done, you give it to the chef to cook it in front of you. The buffet food is okay, I had a few of the different options including fish, chicken, fried rice, french fries, and most of the typical buffet items. I do remember the wings being over cooked. None of the food was really special but for a buffet, it's a buffet. The server/bust boy in the area cleaned plates very often and kept it nice looking in the area. Overall I didn't like the outdated decor and lack of beverage options. This isn't a place I would've gone to on my own, I came with a friend. I feel like they were worth the review based on the noodles alone.

Big koi but not so much room

Used to come here with the family every couple months. Once the crab started to disappear it wasn't as exciting. But wasn't too bad still after all and the price stayed reasonable. Haven't been back and maybe a year. The setup and entryway has changed I think for the better. Probably to accommodate more people and to reduce the number of people probably sneaking in and out. The price has now gone up to about $22 per person at least Friday evening. Thanks for now included which I guess works if you want drinks. If you don't want drinks then you get the added cost. There is entirely way too many people for the amount of staff. Also the quality of food is lower. Things like ribs or refrigerator cold as well as a shrimp. Food items at least look like they were getting filled regularly . Stuff like California rolls were still not too bad. Ice cream a nice addition still. Lots of families with crying babies. A bus load of tourists of probably 30 people also entered. Which added to the already crowded business. My wife and I had to walk around to look for a spot and eventually asked a waitress who opened up a section for us. That filled up quickly. Quality of service and food I think is going to drop if not already. Entirely too many people for the staff. I feel bad for the koi fish. Lots of hands being stuck in the water that we're not the cleanest. Watermelon was warm like it was sitting in the 100° Sun before being put into service. Too many little things to mention but this will probably be our last time coming here.

Look at the horse tail ahaha LoL

1) Food - It's a typical Chinese buffet. Food is just ok. Nothing really special making us to come back. Sushi bar has a very limited items. My highlight there was the vanilla ice-cream in a cone!! It was more like a milk ice-cream that you get in Asia which makes it so special for me. 2) Staff - very efficient, polite, and hard working staff 3) Environment - it's clean and nice decor inside.

All banana and maybe a 1/2 cup of strawberry filler. Mostly bananas tho

So my last review wasn't good! But I recently gave Sakuras another shot, and it was so delicious! Clean environment, really good food.

It's on 4th and Union But don't let that scare you off…read moreThe staff was wonderful My tea was never empty The dining room is clean & comfortable The food is still amazing. Nothing was oily (way better than fast food Chinese) I went for a lunch with my sister Everything was tasty! Lots of variety of flavors. Can't wait to return for the dinner menu.

We have been going to Great Castle for over 40 years. It's been our favorite!…read more This is our 3rd visit since they changed ownership and we were really disappointed in the food. The pan fried dumplings were fine, although the filling was reddish colored with little spice. Added the dumpling sauce, reluctantly, because the containers did not look recently cleaned. My most favorite dish, House Special Shrimp, was way off. It looked and tasted like Sweet and Sour Shrimp. The vinegar taste was strong, overwhelming any taste but sweetness. It used to have a savory brown glaze, garlic and mild spiciness. This dish did not. We also had garlic chicken, which was probably the best dish we ordered. Our plate had a few pieces of thinly sliced chicken, but the majority of chicken we were served were 'bits.' Hard to tell the minced garlic from the chicken bits. The fresh onion and bell peppers were great, but cut too big and overwhelmed the chicken bits. Prices at restaurants have gone up, up, up! Now we're being charged for tea & white rice that had been included in every meal for the last 40+ years?!?! Last but not least!, the floors are dirty and there's dust everywhere. place is dusty & dirty. I don't recall it ever being this dirty. I was looking forward to the House Special Shrimp and a delicious Chinese meal. I was very disappointed

This time the son and I decided to dine in and the food was borderline spoiled, nothing tasted fresh and it wasn't hot, nor warm. Our food was borderline cold. The interior was dusty and in need of attention, especially the fake plants. Though spacious when we entered there wasn't a soul in the place, which was a red flag, but per usuh we brought people. I'm not sure if our food was so nasty because we ordered a lunch special and they reserve what's going bad for those orders because the other four families dining in didn't seem to be having the same experience. What saved this review from being a 1 star review and the only reason I didn't complain to the waitress about the quality of the food is because the only server was elderly and unable to pick up her feet and my very gracious son said to lig, so I did, but it appears if the couple who runs the restaurant doesn't get some help soon they may need to close their doors.

I'm not posting pictures because I eat the same thing every time I come here. I always get an egg foo young. Everything is always consistent. The waitress always remembers what your order is. Heard about this place on IG... So I thought I would give it a try. I was super excited to go in…read moreand try since the review on IG sounded like the food was amazing. The place is like your standard Chinese takeout restaurant, where you have premade dishes, ready to be served with white rice, fried rice, or chow mein noodles. The menu has standard items such as orange chicken, general, chicken, chicken, teriyaki, honey, walnut, shrimp, honey, chicken, mushroom chicken, and so. They also offer egg rolls, cream, cheese, wontons, and soup. What stands out about this place is that they offer a catering menu, unlike some of the other homegrown Chinese takeout places. The restaurant itself is very clean although had a strong smell of Fabuloso and the tables in the floors were a bit sticky. They have one singular bathroom and it was clean. The person who took my order was very nice, friendly, and professional. She was very eager to give me a taste of the entrées in case I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and I thought that was very cool. I purchased a bowl with half fried rice and half chow mein, and one entrée. For my entrée chose the honey shrimp. my meal came with a fountain drink so that was good. The entrée is $9.99 however, because I got the shrimp, it was a little bit extra. I wish I had gone when the IG people were there doing their reel... Because my food didn't taste anything like how they described it. The honey shrimp was very tasty and the shrimp was cooked perfectly however, every now and then I would get a huge puffy piece. I was not impressed with the fried rice nor the chow mein. I was expecting it to have a wok-seared flavor, like how it was described by the couple doing the reel on IG. For me, it was very plain, in fact, at one point, I thought the chow mein noodles were spaghetti noodles. While the meal satisfied my hunger, since it was dinner time, I likely will not be going back... Sorry, peeps I still have not found good Chinese food in Bakersfield. I hope you have a different experience, and if you do, enjoy!

With a touch of MSG and some probably costco bought wontons, I slowly returned to my original form. Now flip the narrative. One day after work I'm kinda sad... being an LA boy I missed my asian cuisine. Mom was out at MahJong and dad was idk planting flowers or something (he's retired now so I guess he picked up Botany). Out comes the beef chow fun. Quite frankly it itched my chinese tickle. You know its good when it's named "fun." That's "noodles" in Mandarin for my non-Mandarin friends. 5 out of 5.
