We ordered through Uber Eats and we ordered salt and pepper shrimp which according to the menu is peeled shrimp with a salt and pepper coating and what we got was a bunch of unpeeled uncleaned shrimps with heads on with a shit ton of garlic and big chunks of jalapeño and onions and it took me 10 minutes to feel five shrimp and my husband went to Chili's read more

Both places changed their batter . Not sure I'd they are owned by the same people . But I see the same employees at both places . Why to many peas in the fried rice too at both places . I had high hopes for Brothers Express, but the food was a major letdown. The orange chicken and garlic chicken were both incredibly chewy and completely lacked flavor, making them difficult to enjoy. The teriyaki chicken was just as disappointing, dry and tough, with a sauce that did nothing to help. The only highlight of the meal was the noodles. OK THIS PLACE IS LEGIT A REALLY TASTY CHINESSE FOOD. Now that I'm back in the area, I wanted to see if there was any new spots and this place came up and I'm so happy that I came by to try it. My new favorite Chinese spot in town now that's foresure. Located right off 24th street, it was very easy to find. As soon as you walking in, you can smell the amazing aroma of the food. Extensive options to build your plate. Very good menu in my opinion. The girl working the front is super friendly and very good at her job. Asked her what she would reccomend and she told me to check out the spicy garlic chicken. THAT CHICKEN IS A 10/10. So much flavor and cooked to perfection. I got all noodles with my entree and the noddles are hands down some of the best I've had in town. They also served a good Thai tea so make sure to pick one up if you're thirsty. For a plate this large for less then $8 bucks IS SO WORTH IT. Overall, if your looking for fast, delicious, and quality Chinese food then don't look any further. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Brother Express has a pretty standard set of Chinese Fast food Fair. To start, you get a mountain of food for your buck. The garlic and Spicy Chicken are absolute bangers. The addition menu, is well priced for adding coconut shrimp or salt and pepper shrimp (the S&P shrimp comes fully shelled with heads, which I like) Star Items: their "steamed" dumpling order is significantly larger than what you'd get at other restaurants. Their Wonton Soup is also really good. It comes with a good amount of wonton, and they offer it spicy (Careful it is, temperature-hot, hotter than the heart of the volcano, so let it cool down before you eat up) They also do a pretty amazing order of Fried Meat Wonton. Better than almost any Ive had in Bakersfield. the only downside is I wish they had a little more meat in them. The staff is friendly, the dining area is clean, and small so it's usually packed for people getting their food to go. Oh, they also have a thing called a "chicken on a stick". In the display case. I imagine it looks like an item that has sat out way too long, but that's the chard I assure you it is hot, crunchy, has a good flavor, and has a great price. Rude customer service. Went in to try the place out before work and asked how long it would be because I had to get to work. She responded rudely and said "well there are people in front of you so there will be a wait!" Along with tone and body language. The portions you get are huge. One 2 combo is $9.15, the standard fried rice or chicken mein and then 2 entrees. There is a choice of about 8 to 10 entrees. Everything looks fresh. Ordered chow mein orange chicken and coconut shrimp. There is an uocharge for shrimp. Again the portions are ample. Chow mei. I think they used spaghetti noodles? Not bad. Orange chicken needed for orange flavo, but the breading was ligh, which I appreciated. The coconut shrimp was light like a tempura batter and sauced after you ordere, but I would want more flavor. This place is the atomic bomb! At least that's what my cornhole did after I ate 15lbs of Orange chicken and chow mein from this place! All jokes aside this is a great little spot for Chinese food, and brother let me tell you. They load you up like they aren't gona see you again for 2years. I didn't know those little stryrofoam to-go plates could hold so much food. You literally have lunch and dinner in one go. Staff was super friendly. At first I thought face tattoo girl was gona shank me with a chop stick and take my dumplings. But she was super sweet and kind and very down to earth. The owner was out helping, asking people if they needed anything, smiling. This is a great spot for the lunch rush. Yuk! I really had high hopes that we could have another option for Chinese food in downtown Bakersfield. But this isn't the place ladies and germs. The rice and chow mein were as bland, as can be, the chicken dishes literally all tasted the same, and we're cooked with the lowest quality leg meat, which was very obvious. And for some reason, it literally went straight through me like a bird. Maybe it's because their wok hasn't properly seasoned yet, but it was just really not a good Chinese food, and my body told me so by expelling it as quickly as it could. read more

In comes my relationship with the Wonton soup. Quite frankly the relationship was inappropriate, toxic even. It really wasn't that good but I kept ordering it ???? With a touch of MSG and some probably costco bought wontons, I slowly returned to my original form. Now flip the narrative. One day after work I'm kinda sad... being an LA boy I missed my asian cuisine. Mom was out at MahJong and dad was idk planting flowers or something (he's retired now so I guess he picked up Botany). Out comes the beef chow fun. Quite frankly it itched my chinese tickle. You know its good when it's named "fun." That's "noodles" in Mandarin for my non-Mandarin friends. 5 out of 5. This ain't the country side of BeiJing but it'll do.

They all looked fresh & hot.. our delicious lunch, was noodles, rice, hot chicken pieces, & kung pow chicken. If you like it spicy here you go...of course us oldies like it hot so we got these for my husband & I lunch. It was delicious food. My son also got the same options but added hot/spicy shrimp which of course I stuck my fork in & it was yummy. For our orders of #B (2) we received rice & chowmein with 2 sides each order with 2 medium drinks & our total with tax was at $29.00 which was good considering the amount of food we received.. we even had leftovers for later .
