Within a couple hours after eating my food I felt like I wanted to throw up. I should have sensed something wasn't right while eating my food and feeling like the food was sitting for a long time and then reheated before serving. The orange chicken felt kinda dry and the flavor was weird tasting. The noodles also felt kinda dry with a weird taste. I've never drank or tasted dirty water but I've smelt it and this food tasted like the dirty water I've smelt before. I seriously think I'm going to throw up. PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't order food from this place because you see it's rated good with some good reviews made by people. Ordered a tray of salt and pepper wings for Super Bowl Sunday and they were able to accommodate me within 30 minutes from when I called in the order. Those wings are soooo delicious! I was in bakersfield for a critters without litters appointment for my doggo and I looked up chinese food after. Looking at places near me this place popped up I saw the rating and the reviews and decided to try it for myself. On arrival I saw the menu and I asked for the two plate combo. The food server quickly told me if I wanted to try the lunch special and told me the options I had with drink included. I made my decision and proceeded to check out. She handed my drink and told me to wait 1-3 minutes. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and as I came out she saw me and said " Sir your order is ready" and opened up the box and asked me how does it look. I have never experienced service like this at any chinese "fast food" before. It looked great she gave me sauces and a fortune cookie followed by enjoy. This was actually my second time visiting Wok It Out. The first time I visited, I forgot to leave a review. This time around I visited around 1:30 in the afternoon, which was well after the lunch rush when I entered the establishment it was completely empty, but I was greeted right away by the very friendly employees she quickly took my order which consisted two 2 item plates. One of my plates I ordered orange chicken and beef and broccoli. The beef and broccoli that they had in the serving tray was low so the employee asked if I mind waiting just a few minutes and they would make me fresh bread and broccoli which I very much appreciated . My other plate consisted of orange chicken and mushroom chicken. Both were fresh tasting and full of flavor. For my two plates, it ended up coming to a total of $20 and just a few cents. For the amount that we were given, I definitely believe that that's a fair price and I will definitely be back if not for the customer service alone. Amazing hot and sour soup! Service however, is slow. Soda machine is never working with watered down Brisk. The constant frying, popping, and scraping sounds are extremely grating. Very loud. 2010's music is blasting along with it. Had to yell over the constant scraping to tell my family my fortune. If you have somewhere to be, don't go to Wok It Out. It's so slow! I'm not getting any younger! It has a bunch of employees bustling around, yet the minutes it takes to get food is to the tenth power!! Sure, it's delicious like fast food, but fast just isn't in the picture. We walked in to see a great special offer, it was about 45 minutes until closing and they did not have much left out, so they made almost everything for us fresh! I've had the regular egg flower soup and it was also good -for a little extra flavor go with the hot & sour soup (you won't regret it). Ive been here several times, but I went yesterday and wow!! The food is much better than I remembered. I got the black pepper chicken and it felt hearty without hurting my stomach. I did have steamed rice with some noodles on top, and the food tasted fresh. The service is very good and the workers are attentive. This is a small business with a large menu. They do have items prepared when you walk in, but some entrees are made to order. This is our 3rd or 4th time driving across town to have some good take out. You can order a bowl, or multiple items, even family packs. If you like shrimp, get the coconut shrimp. The shrimp has a thin batter and is in a thick creme sauce that is slightly sweet. This item is made to order. We usually order 3 items, 2 being the shrimp. I like their vegetable egg rolls and the cream cheese wonton. I really enjoy and appreciate that your meal includes 2 sides which could be steamed veggies, rice, fried rice, or noodles. The veggies were not overcooked and included carrots, cabbage, broccoli, zucchini. We haven't found another item we really like yet, but will return when we crave that shrimp.
