Everything was great the food was coming out fast but when the waiter got the order wrong. I brought it to their attention and suddenly everything changed. They stoped coming to our table. Came here after a nice hike at the hidden Falls. The place is in downtown Auburn. It has a nice outdoor area and really lovely indoor area. They do both sushi as well as Ramen. We didn't get a chance to try the sushi, but we did order the Tom Katsu Ramen, as well as the jalapeño bombs. Jalapeño bombs were very nice , almost like a tempura sushi . The ramen was good. Excellent broth , decent noodle (would have liked a better chew) , the pork was a little thick for my taste but delicious nonetheless. Service was efficient and with. Smile . They were late with the ramen but made up by giving us some miso soup which o thought as a nice touch! Definitely worth a second visit . read more

First time here. Nice ambiance. The kitchen is two floors up and everything from the kitchen Is hand carried by the servers, so the ramen was hot but not piping hot. EXCELLENT pork belly, minimal fat. Liked the spinach and bread sprouts in there too. Very thin noodles. Very tender. Lots of sushi choices in Auburn now. I wish these folks well, too. read more

We took the family and in-laws last night for the first time. Some of those family members let their opinion known good or bad so it was an unknown how things would shake out. I will say we were all very happy with the quality of the rolls and ramen. David was our server and he was very attentive. Overall for the first outing I was extremely happy with the experience. Like all new restaurants I'm sure there are a few kinks to work out but good on them so far and I'm confident things will get even better. My first time in to sake sushi was not a pleasant experience. They are new to Auburn and I believe they haven't been open very long.. I thought I would go in and give them a try. Sat down the bar since I was in by myself. A lady brought by bean pods and water and a setting and left. No food server approached me at all nor did they approach the two people that were sitting next to me. I looked at my menu and decided what I wanted. More time at past and nobody had come by to even ask me if I would like a drink or if I was ready to order. When I say time it pass, I mean 10 to 15 minutes. Finally the sushi chef asked me if I would like something. Now this guy was busy, but he took the time to ask me what I wanted. I ordered a five piece hotel sashimi and a Ramen bowl black Ramen bowl with pork belly. Within 10 minutes, I had my sashimi plate. He served me. No food server has shown up yet to ask me if I would like something to drink or to take an order. As time goes by finally he says something to one of the food servers and lady comes over and says that the black Ramen takes a little longer to make. I say OK I'll have some sake. More time goes by a young man shows up and asked me if I needed something cause he noticed that I've been patiently waiting and I said I've been waiting on a Ramen bowl. He went to scare one up for me. He came back since they're making it right now and I said no what cancel that just charge me for my sashimi and my sake and I'll be out of here. And that was my experience at sake sushi . The problem here is the food servers. Nobody is dedicated to the bar and watching them it seemed a little chaotic and also when the orders came up of who was getting what they need some ironing out to do. I'll give them a month and I'll go back and try it again. read more

We really wanted to like this place as we are a sushi loving family. This is the second time we've been with negative experiences. The first was when they had very recently opened so I was trying to get them the benefit of the doubt. We ordered, and waited for 30 - 40 minutes or so before they told us the kitchen was backed up and it would be even longer before they even started cooking. With two young kids in tow we said forget it and left. (Server asked if we were okay with waiting or if we wanted to leave.) Now tonight, the food was just mediocre and they forgot sides to a dish. this is my second time coming here and i was decently disappointed to say the least. first of all, i was in the establishment for probably over an hour at the bar and didnt see the male sushi chef change his gloves once, he touched a VARITY of things, from RAW fish, rice, receipts, COOKED fish, and fresh clean plates. Literally worst restaurant experience of my entire life. I walk in, no one acknowledges me after almost 5 mins so I just asked if I could sit alone at the bar. I sit down and once it's my turn to order I explain first thing that I am gluten free and dairy free strictly-I will absolutely get sick if I eat either. I ask if this is an issue for the chefs at all and the waitress tells me NO NOT A PROBLEM. I order 4 rolls perfectly fine only swapping the special sauce for siracha mayo -the waitress said this will be NO PROBLEM. The rolls come after I had been waiting over 30 minutes- and they do not have siracha mayo but a mystery sweet mayo that the waitress and chefs have absolutely no idea what the ingredients are. Once again I'm talking to the waitress about how she had assured me that there wouldn't be any gluten or dairy and all of a sudden the chef is yelling at me and another customer felt it necessary to tell me that it isn't the restaurants job to know what is in their food. It most certainly is the restaurants job to know what is in their food. If you have allergies don't eat here. I'm also extremely disappointed because I was excited to support this specific owner, and was a fan of their specific items minus the mystery sauce. We went in last night at 5:30 with a moderately sized party: 4 adults and 6 kids. Firstly, it took 20 minutes to get the server over to take any sort of order. The appetizers are all VERY small in portion. Think 1/4 of size of an order of edamame at any other sushi restaurant. The BBQ albacore was so thinly sliced and overcooked, I've never seen anything like that. While we waited for our food to come, almost all of us had run out of water, we had to flag someone down to ask for refills-they decided to leave the water jugs on the table so we didn't have to bother them again I guess. They also did not bring out a beer that we had ordered until we reminded them an hour later...yes an hour later. Because we were still all waiting to eat an hour and a half after ordering. All the food came out separately, spaced apart by several minutes. We realized that our server wasn't coming back, and one of the children hadn't gotten her roll. The kids were hangry at this point, and honestly so were the adults. The server didn't come back to do the usual "how is everything?" after dropping off what she thought was the last of our order. We again had to flag her down to ask about the missing roll, which she never put in so we had to wait 15 minutes more for the final roll to be served. We are at well over 2 hours at this point, and the restaurant was not super busy. The server felt bad about the terrible service and tried to make it up to us, but it was just such a subpar experience for what they are charging in this place. read more
