I'd give PK Sushi 3 stars. And the 3 is only because the ladies that helped me out were so sweet and accommodating. The presentation was nice and everything looked fresh, but the overall experience was pretty underwhelming for the price. We ordered the Rainbow Roll and they forgot the onions, which was disappointing since it's a basic component of the roll, had avocado and a crab stick wrapped inside and it was just very off. Flavor wise, most of the rolls were very bland and lacked complexity. A lot of the menu feels repetitive, like the same ingredients are just rearranged into different rolls without much creativity. I was especially looking forward to something with hamachi, but they didn't have any options on the menu. I asked for a custom roll, and while they were able to make one, it was just okay and didn't stand out. For the price point, I expected more depth of flavor and more unique combinations. There are quite a few sushi spots nearby that offer more interesting rolls and better overall value. I'd probably choose places like BF Miyabi, Tang's, or Roku over this next time. Good sushi in a unsuspecting place! We have eaten here quite a few times. Everything has been fresh and tasted great! The only thing I not like, there are lot of rolls with deep fried shrimp. PK Sushi is a family run restaurant with the best quality sushi in town! It is my favorite lunch spot (only because I don't live nearby to have dinner here). The interior of the restaurant has two wings, to accommodate more guests during busy times. I love to sit at the bar to order my sushi and chat with the chefs. They even have a fun wheel spin game to win prizes on your birthday. When dining on sushi, the quality and freshness of the fish is paramount; and PK delivers! Not only is the fish excellent, the cooks have very consistent prep with the garnishments, veggies and other ingredients. I find that to be one of the standout features of this restaurant. Consistency is key. The chefs, servers and other kitchen staff are a great bunch of people. They seem to always be friendly and cheery, and offer me great service. My recommendations to try include the Chirashi, the Sushi Mix, the Bluefin Tuna nigiri or sashimi, the Pepperfin 1 and another favorite is the avocado cucumber roll. I tend to enjoy the more traditional style servings with sushi, so I normally go with sashimi or nigiri. It's all about personal preference. The Rock Shrimp appetizer is great, and the Fire Exit and Thomas Train rolls deserve mention. Highly recommended! read more

My dine- in experience was decent - clean restaurant and great service. However, the menu was limited, I don't recall seeing uni. The soup and tempura were good. PKs is one of the best sushi spots in Placer county if you like actual raw fish and aren't looking for a bunch of sweet fried rolls. They easily clear Mikuni from a straight-up sashimi standpoint. The owner, PK, is awesome and cares about his craft. Highly recommend to true sushi lovers. If you want rolls, they have really good options too, but I don't judge a sushi restaurant based off its rolls. read more

unfortunately we did not have a good experience. we had a big group for our friends birthday. we had very simple orders and the servers were very impatient and just rude. giving a lot of attitude for no reason. luckily the food was good customer service was not it was quite awful. hopefully they can work on this because it was very un-enjoyable. read more

This is my third time at PK and it's just average food with great service. However, you typically don't go to a sushi restaurant for the service. You go for the fish and food. Tonight the red tuna was almost frozen and no flavor. I had sashimi and it was bland. 6 pieces for 20 dollars. The shrimp tempura was more like a fish stick. Overall it's average food. I think nugget grocery store has better sushi. I don't think I am going back. Great people and kind, but not worth the price. read more

When I visit my brother and his family, we always order from here. It's always delicious and the people are always friendly. The hand rolls are huge and flavorful! I believe I get the Kathy one every time? The pk1 is also another favorite of mine. Honestly, everything I've had here has been outstanding. Enough so that when visiting, I rarely go to my old favorite place that I frequented when living here. The food comes out very fast and everything is super fresh. PK sushi is that place. I used to come here 1x per week and I moved away for 6 years and recently stopped in since I moved back and the rolls are as great as I last remember. The staff is beyond amazing and so personable. The owner served me and when I asked if Sarah is still around, she sure is! If you ever come in, ask for her because she's awesome. This time around I ordered the same order as I would years back: Thomas train roll, PK2 roll, and freaky edamame and it was nostalgic and delicious! If you're looking for great food and a friendly staff, I highly recommend this place compared to the others in the area. We used to eat here in the past when all you can eat sushi. It was all our families favorite sushi spot. Then they stopped all you can eat. Covid came, food changed, no flavor, we stopped eating here. Returned recently after many years. Sampler, BBQ tuna is delicious. I am a bit disappointed in the size of the sushi rolls; sashimi really tasted underwhelming. The sushi rolls are smaller than used to be, but same price or more expensive. And no tobiko or masago (fish eggs) since covid time d/t "not available". Well, covid is over, tobiko/masago still not on top of the sushi rolls. To me tobiko/masago give a fun spin to the roll and sushi is not the same without it. I feel this place is still not what it was before covid time, and after multiple recent visits, I think it's time to try another sushi place. Service is usually great. This isn't my first time coming to PK sushi, it has always been a pleasant experience, time after time. I am ALWAYS greeted with a warm welcome, always receive quality food for a a reasonable price. I was always willing to pay the price for the quality of food I was receiving. However, while restaurants and retailers across the industry have been increasing prices, PK sushi has taken it upon themselves to update their menu with price drops. Ordered take out today and their signature rolls have gotten smaller and smaller every time , I had 2 Thomas the train rolls and before It use to be more than enough at $17+ dollars each, today they were barely the size of one of their simple rolls. Gave this place another shot but this was the last time. Ordered a few rolls including the Lion King roll which comes with torched salmon on top. All we asked was for them to torch it a little extra so it's less raw. They charged$1.50 for the extra torch. For that extra 5 seconds of torching,there's a $1.50 charge. Not impressed at all. First of all, this was the most bland sushi and tofu I've EVER had. Secondly, the place closes at 3 (I didn't know this) and upon ordering lunch, all but got kicked out of the damn restaurant. Not kidding. And for the record, I've had better sushi from Whole Foods and Trader Joe's cold case- 100% TRUTH. The server was nice and that was the best part of my experience at PK Sushi. The only reason for the 2 stars is because she was nice otherwise I'd give it ZERO STARS. The main sushi chef actually came out from behind the bar and sat at the table next to mine in an effort to make me uncomfortable because everybody else in the restaurant had left since it was after 3. Then after his efforts failed, they turned out the lights to give me another hint to get out. Can you say FKG RUDE???? WHO does that to a PAYING, not only paying but EATING customer?!?!? I've tried a lot of sushi spots around Rocklin but PK sushi has to be one of my favorite spots to go. Let me start off by saying that the employees were exceptionally kind and respectful. They greeted us when we came in and made sure we were always taken care of when we sat down. Water got refilled and our waiter gave us napkins when we ran out. Back to the actual food: we ordered the PK 1, PK 2 and Zig Zag. The PK 1 contained deep fried shrimp and spicy tuna avocado onion which tasted delicious. I would seriously order three of these next time, best roll in my opinion. PK 2 contained cream cheese, shrimp, avocado, crab salad and onion. I love cream cheese so this combo for me with tasted good. Not as good as PK 1 but delicious nonetheless. Lastly, i usually get the zig zag hand roll so I when I found out that they had a regular roll, I made sure to order it. The zig zag contains deep fried soft shell crab mixed with avocado, massago, onion and creamy spicy sauce. Tasted just like the hand roll so if you're with a party then get the roll but if you want it all to yourself than get a hand roll. I came here on a Wednesday around 1130am and luckily we got sat down right away. It wasn't too busy during lunch time. Thank PK Sushi, I'll definitely be back here again! read more

This place was great!! We walked in and we're seated right away, it wasn't too busy on a Tuesday night. Our server was friendly, and right away we ordered some seared ahi tuna. It was delicious and the sauce that came with it was amazing! Especially the white sauce. Then we ended up ordering 3 rolls; the PK 1, K. Mafia, and BMW. The PK 1 was very good, fish amount was great, the avocado was yummy, the roll was very aesthetically pleasing and the sauces completed it. Tbe K. Mafia was delicious as well, the cream cheese was a nice touch coupled with the jalapeños. Then the BMW was very good, came with some delicious sauces. This place was recommended by a friend as their go to sushi place and it did not disappoint! Will certainly be back again!
