Dined in for this visit instead of doing takeout and really enjoyed my experience. It's a fun little spot with a lot of good options to eat off the menu. Our sushi was flavorful and fresh. I'd be happy to return here on my next trip to Rocklin.

PK sushi has my all time favorite roll in the Roseville/Rocklin area. The crab shack is so delicious and full of flavor!! The staff is so wonderful too. Highly recommend!

PK Sushi is a family run restaurant with the best quality sushi in town! It is my favorite lunch spot (only because I don't live nearby to have dinner here). The interior of the restaurant has two wings, to accommodate more guests during busy times. I love to sit at the bar to order my sushi and chat with the chefs. They even have a fun wheel spin game to win prizes on your birthday. When dining on sushi, the quality and freshness of the fish is paramount; and PK delivers! Not only is the fish excellent, the cooks have very consistent prep with the garnishments, veggies and other ingredients. I find that to be one of the standout features of this restaurant. Consistency is key. The chefs, servers and other kitchen staff are a great bunch of people. They seem to always be friendly and cheery, and offer me great service. My recommendations to try include the Chirashi, the Sushi Mix, the Bluefin Tuna nigiri or sashimi, the Pepperfin 1 and another favorite is the avocado cucumber roll. I tend to enjoy the more traditional style servings with sushi, so I normally go with sashimi or nigiri. It's all about personal preference. The Rock Shrimp appetizer is great, and the Fire Exit and Thomas Train rolls deserve mention. Highly recommended!

I appreciated that the staff had a number system set up for the crowd, and a staff member was outside to direct what line to go to and also to let people know the estimated wait time. So the chaos was kept to a minimum. When it was our turn to dine in, the staff were fast and efficient with bringing a carafe of water and glasses to the table. Our food came out in less than 5 minutes of being seated. I had the black garlic tonkatsu (thin noodles) and my husband had the chicken paitan (thin noodles). The pork broth and the chashu were flavorful and tender. The chicken broth was good with a light creamy layer of flavor. The chicken chashu were nice cuts of white meat. The restaurant is on the smaller side and is cutely decorated with all the holidays (check out the ghost near the restroom), anime, and other Japanese motif. There are also shelves of Japanese snacks, candy, and knick knacks for sale. Congrats to the owners and staff of Umami Ramen-Lincoln on 1 year in business! Thank you for sharing your celebration with the community!

Then they said we will be at table 8. We walked over to look at all the tables and there were none labeled 8. We asked where and the then told us to wait for them to set table 8 up. Not very clear instructions... - served our appetizers but no small plates so it was kind of hard to share. Food was really good but the organization really got our anxiety rolling for an unpleasant first time. If we come back we will be ready but hope their organization gets some clarity.

(Yes I hope he reads this lmao) Both times I have visited, the staff has been incredibly pleasant and personable. The food is absolutely chef's kiss. I love the Classico Tostada with shrimp. The chili oil adds the perfect touch. I also tried the ensalada de elote and it was delicious. It was surprisingly filling and satisfying all on its own. The cocktails are unique, which I really appreciate. I have tried several now and every one of them has been excellent. The Lincoln location is small and intimate. It's a very modern, small restaurant, and the bar seating is definitely the focal point of the space, though the overall vibe felt a little cold with minimal decoration. I'd love to come back to try their full omakase experience eventually, but the service was a real letdown. Even though we were the only two people in the restaurant most of the time, we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, I said out loud that we were ready to order; the staff including our waitress stopped for a second, looked at us, and then just went back to what they were doing without acknowledging us. It was as if we were on her time, and she was making it clear that she would get to us when she felt like it, not when we were ready. The wait for food was also way too long. Despite being the only ones there, I waited about 40 minutes for my ceviche mixto bowl ($22). For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid. I noticed the drink menu didn't have many sweet cocktail options, so I asked if they could make me a lemon drop instead; and they granted the request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The food and drinks are great, but the service and kitchen speed really need to be more attentive to match the quality of the menu.

Once we sat down at our table they came and took our drink and dinner orders. There are tons of options for hibachi with lots of proteins. I went with shrimp and filet mignon. Filet was 6 bucks more than steak and I think it was worth it, tender and delicious. I thought the prices were reasonable for what you get. The show was fun, typical hibachi fare, volcano, fire, flying broccoli. I skipped the sake/water fountain. I really enjoyed the food- the fried rice, soup, steak and shrimp were all great. The shrimp was the best I've ever had at this type of place. The veggies were the only disappointment, definitely undercooked. But I had plenty of food and we took home leftovers. The birthday song with the gong was hysterical and our waiter came out and sang an extra song too. The place is obviously aging and could use a refresh as well as some better ventilation. I left with a headache from the smoke. But the food was delicious and we would come back.

It's pretty big and there were green things all over the floor; broccoli bits that people missed catching. The chefs are party savvy and try to toss one in the air as customers catch them in their mouths. I had a 50% catch rate. It's fun! It's amazing how they keep track of everybody's orders and cook it up on the grill-table right in front of you. MEDIUM: The place is a mill. We were barely finishing our main courses and they were hurriedly cleaning up and bringing new setups for next customers. We felt quite rushed. FAILS: 1) As a birthday celebration, as we walked in, I handed a written note to our server, indicating who in our party was having the birthday. They did absolutely nothing. No singing (like they were doing at some other tables), no dessert offering, nothing. 2) They add a huge tip to the receipt without telling you. And then the receipt has a second place asking for an additional tip. Watch out!! I crossed out their desired tip and added my own quite reasonable amount. As we were leaving the building, our server (young Asian female with round glasses) chased after me in the parking lot to argue about the tip and asked for more. That's downright rude. Remember, tips are OPTIONAL (unless pre-posted in writing) and subject to the patron's discretion. BOTTOM LINE: The chef was fun, and the food good. But kinda like "aside from that, Mr. Lincoln, how was the play?" Being chased when outside to beg for more tip put a sour spin on the experience.

Typically all of the fish is raw and they do a torch on the sauces, they should go back to that. They must have been short on maguro because I barely hit a sliver in my roll, perhaps because I added cream cheese but they charged me to add it so it shouldn't lessen any other ingredients. I also ordered the Inari Bomb which is 4 pieces of crab/cream-cheese stuffed tofu skins dipped/fried with tempura. for some reason they put this on top of a bed of cooked onions, zucchini, and carrots. just ruined it! it picked up the taste of onions and the soft wet veggies made the tempura batter soggy. had to toss that too as I can not stomach onions or zucchini and never would have ordered this if these ingredients were listed on the menu. so disappointing, I just can't risk going back. they need to update the menu to match the description of what you're getting.
