This was my takeout roll. Basically a salmon avocado roll with sweet Thai chili and herbs on top. Regular price $28?!
    Claire M.

I am disappointed by the change in menu that happened in the last few months. We've ordered takeout twice taking advantage of "specials" they have had when in fact you are paying extra for very average rolls. They were running an online special of 50% off rolls but the roll's original price was $28. For a $28 roll, I'm expecting something spectacular. Instead I paid $16 for a roll that I could have gotten at the grocery store. If you price your rolls fairly and stop bait-switching your customers you'll have better business!

We really enjoyed our experience here, however the music was loud and they played Rap, Hip-hop, and "Top 40" music. It was just too loud and distracting for the environment, especially because the restaurant was so slow and quiet at the time. But the food was delicious & high quality, and the service was very good. I thought the server seemed friendly also. I would recommend this restaurant with others, as long as they didn't mind the music. However, I didn't see anyone else in the reviews mentioning the music, so maybe it was just something they were trying out? I personally didn't feel it was child-appropriate music though.

We stumbled upon this place for an impromptu lunch when we were in the area. We had the Avocou and deep fried sweet potato roll and hot tea. The rolls were fresh, delicious, and served quickly. The ambiance and seating was very comfortable and clean, the service was good, fast, and friendly. We'll definitely come back.

I just can't stay away from IKURA! Today's delight was the wonderful Sudamomo salad! I was expecting the usual cucumber salad BUT Ryan (as usual) came up with a personal rendition! See photos! Sliced, julienned and topped with two beautifully filleted fresh shrimp! Wow!

The oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the rolls did not disappoint. We ordered the Sunset Roll and the Fireman Roll both were delicious, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The balance of textures and sauces really stood out in the sunset roll and the fireman roll was less flavor but more on the refreshing side. Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere made for a great dining experience We came in around 8:30 PM and they told us to come on in and never rushed us once.

Cute place, good food. We visited back in Feb 2025 but forgot to add a review. Server Brittany was a hoot--high energy and very attentive. We love her! Garlic salad dressing was very interesting. Menu was vast. We got the lunch special with a bento box. Wish we could have customized the bento box a little more like in other establishments where you can choose two items, but it wasn't bad. Forgot to take a pic. Located across the street from Dutch Bros. Lots of great Japanese places in the area and glad to add this one to the list!

Finally got the chance to come here with my family. I drive by it practically everyday so it was about time. To be honest, I was a bit nervous from the previous restaurant that was there (RIP). Didn't have the best reviews. Saying all that, we are glad we visited. The food was excellent and presented well (see pictures). My wife had the steak and lobster platter & every item had favor. Nothing was passed over. Well done. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The remodel from a bank to a restaurant was done well. Love the circular bar in the middle. Wife wants to sit there next time. Ambiance is great. Love supporting new local restaurants. Please give this one a try.

I went to Ikura today lunch with friends, this was my first time to try there and so far, it's great!!! The appetizers salmon tartar so yummy, the chips were not enough but the waitress gave us more for 3 more times and non stop to refill the hot teas for us, the service was very very good. Moreover, the sashimi deluxe so beautiful and fresh, we really like it. They have 50% off sushi rolls now, so it's very reasonable price!!! My friends and I will go there again!!!

I was always curious about this place whenever I drove past it on Sunset Blvd, not to mention enticed. The service and atmosphere felt like I was relaxing in a beach resort. The ambiance was immaculate and slick making the dining experience extra special. I sure was enticed by the whole experience - service , ambiance and food. Seating arrangement was special. They have a great 50 percent off menu. If u want an elite, well-presented food experience with awesome knowledgeable service u r missing on something if u haven't tried it yet!! With services like this I can pause on going to San Francisco for a good dining experience.

Well, I was in the area for a business meeting and was craving some sushi. I hopped on yelp and looked for one nearby in Rocklin and wow!! This place has only been open for a month and did they knock it out of the park. The Service was fantastic, fish was very fresh, and I loved everything I tried. I had Sunomono, 6 Oysters, UNI nigiri, Saba, Hamachi nigiri, scallop nigiri and finished with a soft shell crab hand roll for desert! It was the best sushi experience I have had in a long time. I live in the Central Valley outside Modesto. We have some decent places to eat Sushi, but if you live in the Rocklin area Ikura is the place to go for a wonderful sushi experience.

Finally got the chance to order to go from this restaurant. I ordered their lunch specials: sashimi and nigiri combo, chicken teppan, and roll combo. Their sushi combo was very good! The sashimi is fresh and melted in my mouth. It says it has tuna but I am sure that they used chutoro or belly for their tuna roll and sashimi. $20 Chicken teppan: was on the dry side. They sue chicken breast. $14 3 sushi roll combo : it's a very good price for 3 basic rolls. $16 Overall is a good sushi place while they have very good lunch prices and quality. Definitely will come back to try more!

King Crunch Roll and Yama Roll

In search of sushi late Saturday night, we turned to Yelp to find a spot close to where we were that had decent reviews. When it comes to raw fish, I'm pretty picky lol It was after 9:30pm and we saw that Ikura was new and open until 10:30pm! We love supporting new small local businesses, so we were excited that they were open. We were the only people there at around 9:45pm on Saturday. The dining room is beautiful..I was blown away by the aesthetic & it was clean. The restaurant staff were friendly, and our hot tea was constantly refilled. Friendly service We decided on the Sashimi Deluxe to start...AMAZING!!!! Every piece of fish was plated separately, which we enjoyed the different touches to each plate, and the fish was so FRESH! I honestly can't wait to order this again, hopefully this is how it is always prepared and served. Felt like omakase without breaking the bank! We ordered two rolls, the King Crunch Roll which was very good, and the Yama Roll which was incredible! We both agree that Yama Roll was easily one of our favorite rolls anywhere. 100% would order that again. All in all, we both loved our experience at Ikura, and can't wait to return.

Only 3 stars? I'm not being a jerk, really. Sunday mid day meal. Greeted happily. Met 4 different employees and an owner. All friendly and helpful. Previous review and photos by other Yelpers had me primed for a top notch delicious meal. So Barbara gets the lobster roll. I get the salmon teriyaki salmon bento box combo meal. And the food is just okay at best. Visually the lobster roll is impressive. Taste wise the lobster chunks are just covered with too much sauce. My bento box had 5 offerings. None of them were very good. The gyoza tasted like it came from a bag of Bibigo and was cooked yesterday, dried out and gummy. Even the sticky rice somehow had 2 big blobs of gluey rice flour in it (Dribble over from the tempura?). Speaking of tempura the shrimp was okay, a little crispy. The broccoli and onion ring were undercooked and pasty, with an unappetizing mouth feel. The extra slender salmon was not sushi grade line caught fish. Tasted like frozen filet of farmed Atlantic salmon. The dining room is spacious and airy. Caveat: Over the past couple of months I've eaten some really good Japanese food in several Sacramento restaurants. Ikura here in Rocklin pales in comparison. No return for me.

Sashimi bento box, loved all of it!!!!

The kids absolutely love it, and it's always such a great experience for everyone. The food is consistently delicious, my daughter is obsessed with their fried rice, and honestly, everything we've tried has been so good. The chefs are entertaining, and the whole teppanyaki experience makes it feel special every time we go. What really stands out to us is how incredibly accommodating they are with food allergies. One of our friends has a severe gluten allergy, and my husband is allergic to dairy and eggs, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure their meals are prepared safely. They cook their dishes separately with dedicated cookware, and we've never had a single issue, which gives us so much peace of mind. We also went for my birthday this year because my daughter specifically requested it, and it was another wonderful experience. The staff is always friendly, kind, and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care. We always leave feeling happy, full, and taken care of, never any issues afterward, just a great meal and great memories. Highly recommend!

I grew up on Benihanas (Burlingame), Sakura (Redwood city), and other similar style restaurants. We had dinner here a couple of years ago and thought it shut down. But I called the other night to see if they were still in business and they had re-opened. Lynn and Leo were spectacular. She was the hostess and Leo was our Cook. They were both personable, friendly, fun, courteous, and the food was fantastic. I feel the prices were descent with the amount of food that comes with the meal. They have the big sit-around grills just like their competitors and a similar show on the grill to get the guests excited and keep them happy. We were lucky that our chef/cook had worked for one of his competitors prior to his career at SoHo. So he had the best experience and training. The dressing on the salad was a this delicious mayo-base dressing with a hint of lime maybe cilantro but very creamy and refreshing when going down. The Teppanyaki was cooked perfectly. We had the steak and shrimp. One steak was medium rare- and the other was medium. The shrimp were cooked exactly how they are supposed to be. Pink, edible & not rubbery at all from over cooking. The onion soup was good for someone who is not an onion soup fan. I still gave it 5 stars. The Vegetable medley was cooked Al-dente and the garlic butter was delicious. I highly recommend this place for a fun family night, a work party, birthday party, small corporate luncheon or event. Call ahead of time for big groups. Friday nights and Saturdays are busy. So are Sundays. Walk-ins are welcome. Please if you visit, leave them more reviews. I will definitely be coming back and making recommendations to both my friends and family. Shanna Flanigan

They were also giving out samples of some of their chicken so that convinced me more. I ended up getting the 1 meat + 2 sides combo for $9.99 which I thought was a plus and slightly cheaper than Panda Express.. only thing is that I only got 1 meat when at Panda Express, I'd be able to get Chow Mein and 2 entrees for a couple dollars more. For my combo box, I chose Chow Mein and Mixed Veggies as my 2 sides and Sesame Chicken for my 1 meat. I noticed they had two different Chow Meins and learned the other one was a spicy version which I thought was a cool option, but I ended up getting the regular Chow Mein to keep it easy on my tummy. The Sesame Chicken was also one of their new meat options and I'm such a fan of sesame chicken every time I eat at a spot that offers it on their menu so of course I picked that! After paying, I sat down and started taking some bites. Although the sesame chicken was flavorful and had some crispy aspects to it which I enjoyed, the Chow Mein noodles were not as flavorful and made me wondering if I should've gotten the spicy version... Other than that, the overall plate was delightful to eat and definitely satisfied my appetite! I think if I ever decided to eat here again when at the Galleria, I would probably go for the Fried Rice or Spicy Chow Mein next time and maybe try some of their other meat options as well.

I had an order of the hamachi nigiri and a sampling of deep fried bananas and a donut for dessert but we didn't care for them. Servers were fast and very attentive. The price point is decent. Definitely worth what you pay for.

Rice was like sticky and Costco sushi. This is no a compliment.
