Prior to watching a movie, there happened to be a ramen place within walking distance. We had time to kill, so why not try it out? We arrived around 12:30PM on a Friday and there were a decent amount of patrons already inside. We were immediately greeted in and took our orders. I had the miso ramen. The pricing was comparable to other ramen locations I have been to which is good. Nice and cozy esablishment - I noticed right away they had a tv and it was playing One Piece (anime). We are headed to Topgolf and decided to stop for Ramen. I found this place close by in a strip mall with convenient parking. I have an easy menu to read overhead, I just wish it gave more detail on the menu because I did have several questions as to which to order. Once you place your order you find a table to sit at. It's not a big spot, but there is plenty of seating. I ended up ordering the black garlic noodles with medium spice. I enjoyed my bowl however I felt like it looked flavor. They did have big chunks of garlic in it, but there was something missing. I'm glad they had the chili oil on the table to add to it. The kids bowl has about the same amount noodles. I ordered the Tonkotsu bowl through DoorDash and had it delivered. It was exactly what I was craving as ive been fighting off a cold. The seasoned egg is always my favorite, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The bowl comes with pork, fish cake, bamboo, sprouts, black mushrooms, and a rich pork broth. Everything was well-balanced and satisfying, and the price is always reasonable for the quality and portion. The food arrived quick and hot, it was packaged really well, which I always appreciate because sometimes the both can leak. This is hands down my go-to ramen place and order choice. What was my goto Ramen joint has lost its place in my list of great ramen spots. Lastnight we rolled up before 9pm. We were told that they could only serve togo orders. And we could not eat inside the restaurant. We asked if we could use one of the tables outside. We shrugged and ordered our food, we were very hungry for some hot soup. 2 orders of black garlic ramen. First the portions are for kids not enough quantities for an adult. I don't recall the portions being so small. Another issue is the kitchen staff which I found were rude and making comments in Spanish which I could understand they were making jokes about me and my buddy. Totally unprofessional. Our family ate there last week and all got very sick for the entire night and day after. I called them 3 times to talk to the owner and or the manager and there isn't one and no one returned my call or showed any interest in helping us make this right. During the dinner the entire staff were just staring at their phones and not willing to help us find a napkin and the ramen was luke warm. We will not be going there again. Too bad. read more

Going out to eat anywhere anymore is a luxury because of how expensive everything is... ESPECIALLY here. I feel like their prices have not only gone up but DOUBLED in the past few years so because of this, we don't come here as often as I USED TO like. Historically, their vegetable ramen broth was one of my favourite things in the whole sac region. Literally one of my favourite treat meals. So I bit the bullet after a long day at work and ordered it to go. This thing was INEDIBLE. Usually their to go dishes definitely suffer in quality compared to eating in the restaurant but this was awful. I couldn't tell if it was ingredients gone bad, cleaning chemicals, what... I was so upset because it was literally almost 20$ for this damn bowl (I did get fried garlic as an add on but that's only like an extra dollar I think). I called to ask if they changed their ingredients and the guy I talked to said no. He then almost doubled down about how ActUalLy they had sold soOoOo many vegetable ramens that day. Cool, I guess? I didn't really ask for anything to be done but he immediately was like 'well there's nothing we can do but I'll tell the cook'. Um thanks? I think that Roman 101 is my most favorite Ramen in all of the Sacramento Roseville area. I love the options and I love the fact that they use the right type of mushroom for the Ramen. The eggs are delicious. The broth is delicious and I absolutely love it. If there's one downfall in the entire restaurant, it would be that the employees do not seem happy. Finally tried something from their Hawaiian menu yesterday and the Kalbi short rib plate did not disappoint! Meat was seasoned well with more of a ginger taste than other kalbi I've had, wasn't too overpowering but unique from others. I specifically liked how their mac salad tasted (I can be picky about it sometimes) and the steamed veggies (broccoli and cabbage) were perfect texture, not too mushy and soft. You get two small scoops of rice (equivalent to half a cup of rice) and the mac salad was average. Was a bit bland for my liking. Would prefer a little more seasoning. We came last Sunday June 29, 2025 for dinner..The hispanic lady (i don't know her name) didn't llet my daughters use the restroom to wash their hands coz she was cleaning it..I undertand that the restaurant is an hour away to close but while we are eating she sprayed Fabuloso to clean the empty tables and seats next to our table...The odor is so strong and we felt disgustes and disrespected..We let that slide however the second time my wife and i were done eating the same lady grabbed the dishes off our table without permission..So our daugthers who were still eating felt they have to rush and finish their food right away...We will think about of going back or consider other Japanese resturant next time.. read more

My boyfriend and I love ramen and go out to get it at least once a week. We were super excited to try ramen 101 because of its location and other people who have told us it's good. However, we both ordered the chicken ramen and couldn't even finish it. The broth smelled weird and didn't taste great and the chicken seemed like it was just teriyaki chicken tossed in the bowl and didn't taste good either. I could say a disclaimer that we got it "to go," but to be fair, we were part of a daytime summer camp next door at the "Xtreme" center. My boss treated us to some ramen, while the campers had pizza. Again, technically takeout, but we were eating within minutes of delivery. Either this is not authentic Japanese Ramen, or they got all of our ramens wrong. I ordered the traditional Tonkatsu ramen. One thing that was annoying was that there were more bean sprouts then actual ramen noodles, and the noodles tasted quite "pre-made." However, that was not the most annoying thing. My broth was near inedible with the amount of visible red pepper flakes scattered throughout the entirety of the soup: broth, noodles, chashu, and everything else. I was raised around Asian, Indian, and Mexican cuisine.....this was not how ramen should taste. It had no flavor....except "hot." Spicy....too spicy. Japanese pork ramen broth should taste of umami, pork, and other subtle flavors. This was disgustingly hot with no other discernible flavors. Sorry for sounding like a "male Karen," (is that a "Zack?") but I love ramen, I was hungry, and my boss took us out for lunch.
