We just ate at Oki Sushi and the sushi was 10 out of 10! This is our new spot to go. I highly recommend trying this place out!

Just passing through going to Tahoe and wanted Sushi when we came across this spot. We came here once last year coming home from Tahoe and enjoyed enough to come back. My little one has allergies to soy, gluten, and shellfish and they were able to accommodate her. We ordered her the Salmon teriyaki (no teriyaki sauce and rice. She enjoyed it very much. They even made the chopstick kid friendly by wedging a wrapped up chopstick paper and a rubberband. My daughter had fun with it. We didn't order much variety so I can't confidently say if everything was fresh or previously frozen, but it was so good that I could care less. I got the Crossings roll and my wife got the Triple tuna roll. Basically the same thing, but the tuna had 3 types of tuna and the Crossings had tuna, Shrimp and Salmon. So good we ordered another Triple Tuna roll. The filipino server was awesome. Friendly, easy to approach and knowledgable about the menu. Whether you're passing through or from the area and want sushi, my wife and I enjoyed the Crossings and Triple Tuna Roll. I hope this place is here for a long time. read more

For lunch, my client and I agreed on sushi since we were finishing up some shopping nearby. It is gorgeous in here. There is a large blossom tree on one wall. A good size model ship on another one. The light fixtures are catchy. It looks very modern with the dark walls and large TV. We sat down right away and took time reading over every roll. We both love salmon and my client was telling me to pick her roll. So we both got the same one, salmon and lemon on top, and deep fried shrimp, cream cheese, and cucumber inside a seaweed wrapped roll. As we waited, we drank our ice cold waters on this hot day. When our rolls arrived, they seemed smaller than other places I have been to. They tasted great! Since we only got one roll, I also had a salmon hand roll. You usually can't go wrong there. I felt like that hand roll was packed with a good amount of salmon, a few avocado slices, wrapped with rice and seaweed paper. It was served beautifully on a unique looking plate. Kind of surprising after all these years I hadn't left a review yet. I really thought I had. Lol This place is on the smaller side but is always clean and the service is always friendly. I have many different bento boxes, sushi and the calamari. All is yummy. Just went there recently and shared the calamari that comes with a spicy mayo type dressing. I always enjoy it. Isn't rubbery and frozen like other places that do calamari. I always want to go full Gordon Ramsey on certain places "WAS THIS FROZEN!!" Lol But not at this place, good stuff. I chose Salmon Sashimi as one of my two bento box options. The menu marks the popular rolls with a star. Besides the White Dragon, other popular rolls that interest me include the Crossings, Triple Tuna, Rainbow, and Salmon Lover. The Reel Legend, White Lotus, Galleria, and Kings roll descriptions sound appetizing as well. Other Yelp reviewers recommended the Basil roll. Fish was presliced in the display. I was told that sashimi is always sliced fresh and that the presliced fish are used in sushi rolls. Salmon Teriyaki is grilled. I thought it was on the dry side and lacking Teriyaki Sauce as other reviewers mentioned. I liked the Miso Soup that came with the Bento Box. Tofu, green onions, wakame. Restaurant closes at 9 PM, but employees start cleaning, putting away food, and putting chairs up on the tables 8:15-8:30 PM. They were still taking To Go orders though. The sushi is good and the service is good depending who serves you. I've been here a couple of times and noticed that the lady has favoritism. I am always respectful but don't seem to get the same back, hardly even a smile back. She is the same way with other customers and is not very welcoming. I have seen her smile, laugh, and be very attentive to certain customers, while not doing the same thing with everyone else. Things like this makes people not want to leave tips because it looks like they don't enjoy customers. Seem upset when you don't leave a tip. Customer service could be better. read more

So this is a regular go to spot for me and Rockland as the quality of their fish is very good. You pay a pretty premium for that high-quality fish as well as they are one of the more expensive sushi restaurants in the area. I already wrote a review once Felt like I needed to update it with a little bit more info. As stated, in my first review, call mom I come here for the sashimi and it's great, I also love that they still serve Escalar as it's my favorite. Some sushi restaurants don't for whatever reason. Today I was feeling adventurous, so I deviated and got three rolls. I've got the Alaska roll, which is simple, avocado, and salmon. I got a Hamachi maki roll, simple, seaweed, rice, Machi. Then I got one fancy Rob, which is their lobster roll, I was hoping at 22 bucks it would be amazing. Unfortunately that was the only thing that I got that I could barely stomach. It's not lobster, it's Langostinos, which is totally different and I feel it's borderline fraudulent to claim it's a lobster roll when it's not they were fried and thrown on top of a very small roll that tasted mostly of cream cheese call mom, and when you look at it in terms of having to work a full hour for a role that was not only deceptive, but not good, one might feel a little frustrated. The front runner was by far the Alaskan roll because you could taste the fresh salmon. And don't waste your money on the lobster roll, I feel like with this place it's better to stick to the basics. read more

A HAIR IN MY FOOD!!! A LONG BLACK DISGUSTING HAIR BURIED IN THE RICE It's not OKI .... Its just OK .... But actually less than OK (read on). We wanted to like this place as it is a short bike ride away from our home. But after 4 tries, I would rather pickup sushi at Safeway going forward. 1. My husband is a weirdo and doesn't like crab (real or imitation) and every roll has crab on it. 2. Nothing exciting or special about any of the options on the menu. "It's just OK (i) sushi" would would joke. 3. Was really craving some sashimi and our favorite place Ichiban across the freeway was closed that night. So, not wanting to brave crowds and wait times at Blue Nami or Mikuni, I decide to give Ok Sushi another try and ordered a Chirashi Bowl (several different varieties of sliced raw sashimi over a bit of sushi rice). I sat at the sushi bar and was actually enjoying my OK. Sushi dining experience and thought that maybe we needed to get this place one more try. Until... I pulled up a piece of fish and noticed a small black hair poking out that looked like an eyelash. I started to tug at it, and it kept coming up! It was a long black hair about 2" in length! I called the server over and pointed to the hair, and she grabbed the bowl from me right away, exclaiming "nope nope nope!" As she walked away. She brought the two sushi chefs into the back room along with a man that I am assuming was the owner or manager, but wasn't actually preparing any food. I could see them talking in the back prep area from the corner of the sushi bar where I was sitting. A good 5+ minutes rolled by and everyone had returned back to work but nobody said anything to me. So I just sat there with no food, no apology and no explanation. I finally looked at the sushi chef and put my hands up as if to inquire "is anyone going to respond to this?" And that is when he offered to put the remaining fish onto another bowl of rice for me. I said "honestly at this point I just want to leave. I am completely disgusted." I just walked out, nobody apologized or offered any sort of explanation (not that you can explain away a hair buried into your rice... Which likely means all of the rice has Hair in it because it was scooped and dumped into a bowl). Totally gross. Will not be back. Ever. read more

Great sushi place at the Rocklin Crossings retail center First time dining at Oki Sushi in Rocklin. The restaurant is family-owned and is open for indoor and outdoor dining. Still kinda new in town, opened in September 2020 (pandemic year) and it continues to operate with a good amount of a following. Placer County is blessed to have plenty of good sushi restaurants and Oki Sushi is right along that level. Inside is not very big, it's actually nice and cozy with a sushi bar and 3 huge flatscreens. In addition to an assortment of sushi rolls and nigiri, Oki Sushi has menu options such as teriyaki and bento boxes. Hubby and I love our bento boxes and we each got the 2-item meals. A Salmon Teriyaki and Beef Teriyaki is always my favorite combo. The beef was tender and tasty and the meat was already cut in small strips. This is why you never need a knife when dining in a Japanese restaurant. So delicious as was the salmon. My only suggestion is if they could gloss a little more teriyaki sauce on the beef and salmon I'd be more happy. Hubby enjoyed his Chicken Teriyaki and Mixed Tempura. I'm glad to have found Oki Sushi and that it has survived COVID-19 challenges. The staff is friendly, hardworking and attentive... The rolls were cut into small pieces so they were easy to eat with one bite. Everything was good. However the portion was smaller than I am used to.
