Absolutely LoVe Love Love this place! I didnt have sushi for 9 months while I was pregnant and right after having my baby we went to theor website and saw they were closed for renovations. They are now open again and the service is still amazing, food is still Absolutely delicious amd the place looks incredible! Highly recommend, if you want sushi this is the only place in Roseville that is worth every dime! The new inside decor is beautifully done and the lighting is georgous.

I've been lukewarm on this spot because of less than satisfying experiences for myself in the past with quality & inconsistency, but the mister really likes the flavor combinations in rolls he enjoys from here. We called in a takeout order on a Saturday evening. It took several attempts to make it through, but a friendly lady eventually answered. She said it would be ready in 45-50 minutes. They've typically not had our to go orders ready at the stated time. It was busy in the restaurant that night, & it was an extra 20 minutes of just waiting around. The female staffer was apologetic. Our order with colorfully named rolls-- California Roll (avocado on the side), Show Me Yours, Fresh Flower, Who's Your Daddy, Irresistible, Playmate, Turn Me On, Melts In Your Mouth Overall, it was good & offered some tasty bites. However, some gripes... -the tempura shrimp doesn't make it through the length of the rolls -the ends of some rolls have a skimpy amount of fish on top -the Fresh Flower had such inconsistency in the size of fish that wrapped around & the amount of avocado, which made for a feeling of it being sloppily assembled

Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Drinks: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 5/5 Stopped by on a Thursday with a party of 4. Our waitress was wonderful! The food was yummy, and the sake cocktail flight was a great way to try several drinks. I would definitely stop by again.

We were happened to be in the area and were craving for sushi, so we came here around lunch. The restaurant was busy but we were seated immediately. The service was good and prompt. Our waitress checked on us several times to refill our water. - Agedashi tofu: good crispy coating on the tofu but I wish they gave more sauce. - California roll: tasty. The portion was good and the rice layer wasn't too overwhelming. - Shrimp tempura roll: good. The shrimp tempura was crispy but it was kinda short since the end of the roll didn't have shrimp tempura. - Naked salmon (no rice): good. The sauce was very good and not overwhelming. However, the salmon sashimi pieces were a bit fishy.

Headline: looking for a sushi boat with a wide variety of items that include non-sushi? This is your place. I've been on a sushi boat kick lately, so when I see it on the menu it was definitely something the group is going to order. The restaurant is located in a pretty standard strip mall location but when you enter you get a restaurant that is definitely for more of an eastern theme. Lots of seating and the staff was willing to let our group choose our spot. We ordered Sake and the sushi boat. While I prefer to stick to strictly sushi, this is really a great choice for those that prefer the non raw fish items. The wide variety makes it so that everyone in the group could be happy. The portion and price was pretty good and our group of four left fufilled. The staff was extremely friendly and got us our drinks and order really quick. If you are looking for a good varied sushi boat that includes a lot of non sushi items, this is your place!

Restaurant just reopened after undergoing a remodel. The restaurant looks great and the food was good. I got the bento box with salmon, guide and tempura. It came with rice, salad and miso soup. Great deal and tasted good. Others in my party ordered sashimi and a couple of rolls that were also pretty and yummy.

So happy Sushi Mon is back open after renovations! It looks absolutely incredible and the food is just as great (if not better). Service is always awesome and the new look makes for a more inviting ambiance. Looking forward to my next visit soon!

Just a beautiful small sashimi platter. Delicious

The restaurant has been remodeled and is just lovely. It's bright and cheerful and we had a wonderful time. Six of us went to dinner and really enjoyed it. Our server, Bobo was just terrific. And the food was wonderful.

Stopped into Sushi Mon on a Tuesday night and the place was pretty empty, with only a few tables occupied. Service was fast from the start. We were seated right away and drinks came out quickly. Water service here is always great, and this visit was no different. Waters were always filled up. They checked on us often throughout our visit. We ordered eight rolls total, including Benfish, Scallop Maniac, and one of the no-rice cucumber-wrapped rolls. Each roll had its own unique flavor in the best way. The sauce on the Scallop Maniac is so good, it's definitely a standout. We also had miso soup, which was warm, flavorful, and not overly salty. Another solid visit to one of our favorite local sushi spots in Roseville.

Sky is the limit, lemon drop, Kamakazi, Who's your mama rolls.

This place is our favorite local sushi spot! It is so good and the remodel looks amazing. You have to get the spicy garlic edamame and keep the sauce to dip your rolls in.. so good!! The service is amazing too, everyone is always so sweet and helpful. This is a must try.

Good service, tasty bites & decent atmosphere! Quick bite after Christmas shopping with hubby! Thank you for the staff for seating & serving us quickly!

Sushi Mon has had a stylish refresh!

We loved Sushi Mon for years, and while we were happy for them to remodel we were also concerned. Would it all change? No! Great food, wonderful service, and the place looks great and yet is still comfortable. So happy to be back!

Also tried their mushroom bomb (it was more crab meat than mushroom), shrimp lollipops (worth it), & yellowtail hand roll. 4.5 STARS its sushi…read moreis very popular, so the wait can be long during peak times - around 90 minutes to 2 hours. there are three options for ayce, with different dishes included in each option. my boyfriend and i like course B because we think it's the best value, and it includes all of the nigiri, which is mostly what we like to order. we don't think course C includes enough additional items to be worth the increase in price. service is friendly, and we're always checked on often! they offered a wide selection of appetizers and hot dishes. the seafood dynamite included baby scallops and mushrooms in a mayo and sweet eel sauce mixture. i thought it was a little too heavy and wish it included other seafood besides scallops. the tako wasabi was one of the best versions of this dish i've tried, and i'm usually not a huge fan of this dish! the wasabi wasn't too strong, and the sesame seeds added such a nice flavor and texture. the sesame flavor complemented the wasabi and made it easier to eat. the monkey brain was a fried crab mix and mushrooms with spicy mayo and eel sauce. the portion was pretty big, so it was filling and heavy. the baked green mussels were very yummy! the white sauce gave it a creaminess and sweetness, and it came out super hot. the yellowtail collar was very juicy! it came with a slightly sweet soy-based sauce, and it was overall a light app. the spicy garlic edamame had a great garlicky flavor with a small kick. i liked that it came out hot, and it was a good portion! the sauce pooled at the bottom, and it was very oily, although the edamame at the bottom also had more flavor. i enjoyed the coconut flakes in the batter for the coconut shrimp tempura, which provided most of the flavor. the sauce was the same as the one served with the soft shell crab. the corn cheese was slightly sweet and cheesy, which i liked. the cheese was a little too liquidy but otherwise solid. the quality of the soft shell crab varied between different visits. i wasn't a fan of the chewy shell when it came out lukewarm, but when it came out fresh and hot, the texture was much better - crunchy and easy to eat. overall, it was seasoned well, and the lemon added freshness. the sauce was very light and thin, so i couldn't place the exact flavor. there were lots of options for sushi rolls, and they allowed half-size rolls, except for baked or 6-pc rolls. the lemon x salmon roll was one of my favorites! the lemon was thinly sliced, and the salmon was soft. it was very fresh and light. the washington roll was similar to the lemon x salmon roll in terms of brightness from the ponzu. the salmon was so soft, and there was salmon on top and inside of the roll, which i loved. it was also one of my favorite rolls, maybe more so than the lemon x salmon. the sauce on the henry roll was a little too much for me, but the lemon helped cut through it a bit. it had the typical combo of spicy mayo and eel sauce. the shrimp tempura was so crunchy! the sexy bomb roll was a regular shrimp tempura roll topped with salmon, spicy mayo, and eel sauce, but with the addition of cream cheese. again, the shrimp was crunchy, but the cream cheese was too overwhelming for me. the flavor was otherwise standard. the something wrong roll included shrimp tempura and spicy seafood mixes, including spicy soft shell crab, spicy tuna, and spicy crab mix, topped with more seafood. i liked the idea of the roll, but together, the spicy and tangy flavors were overwhelming. since it had so many components, it was also very filling! the nigiri was as good as ayce nigiri gets! we tried the tuna, garlic tuna, cajun tuna, super white tuna, salmon, xxx salmon, cajun salmon, smoked salmon, garlic salmon, salmon belly, paprika seared salmon, yuzu yellowtail, squid, spicy octopus, freshwater eel, and mayo scallop. the fish was soft and didn't taste too fishy. the fish to rice ratio was great! there was a tiny amount of rice for each nigiri, so we didn't get full on just rice. i wasn't a fan of the xxx nigiri, which came with a dollop of spicy sauce and thickly sliced jalapeno on top. i liked the seared flavor of the cajun tuna and cajun salmon, and all of the regular fish were good too. for ~$40 per person, the menu is very extensive, and we feel like it's really worth it! they offer a wide variety of appetizers and lots of great options for nigiri and rolls. we also appreciate the portion size of the dishes, which allows us to try more menu items. although a lot of the menu is tasty, the nigiri makes the price worth it alone, and we will definitely come back to its sushi whenever we're in the area!

My sister said they just had been to this location a few weeks ago. It was our first time at this restaurant. It was a different sushi restaurant after Islands restaurant closed. I see mixed reviews now that I have gone, I don't get the bad reviews. I know restaurants, service business and people can have off days. But we really enjoyed the food, the restaurant and everyone we enteracted with was very helpful. Our server was amazing and all the food runners brought out or dishes as soon as they could. Sometimes it felt like we waited awhile for different items. But some are made at the sushi station and some are made back in the kitchen. We are happy everything is made fresh. Not an all you can eat buffet where everything is pre-made and sitting out. I have noticed at other Asian type restaurants.. the staff is no-nonsense they are there to do a job. At a Very busy restaurant some smile some don't. Or server was very nice we ended up talking to her for a bit. They only offered ice cream type items for dessert. I can't have dairy. It's ok everyone else loved the ice cream. Everything tasted so very good! We are already talking about going back.

Only a few tables were occupied during my visit and they still took a few minutes to take my order. The order arrived quick but the tuna and salmon nigiri was not great, didn't taste very fresh, and they drop off the order without saying anything like they're super busy. The ambiance is odd, you can hear a lot of noise from the kitchen area, and even when they're clearing dishes off the table, it was very loud, like they were closed and no customers were around. The music is barely audible, they use harsh lighting that makes the restaurant feel even less hospitable. There's a reason why "It's Sushi" is always packed and people will wait over an hour while this place is dead on a Friday night.

I've been to a few of their other establishments years ago but it was my first time in the Roseville location. As expected around 4PM, there were quite a bit of patrons in line. The establishment itself was fairly large and fit quite a bit of people - but at this time of day it was definitely packed. I ordered the Incredible roll. Yep, lives up to it's name. Had a bit of spice to it and was very tasty. What did catch me off guard though was the pricing. Wasn't accustomed to ordering one roll that was inching toward the $30 range. For the price, I expected much better food quality and portions. On top of that, our drinks weren't refilled, and the service overall felt unfriendly and inattentive. The lack of hospitality made the entire dining experience even more disappointing. Given the restaurant's prices and reputation, I expected much better food and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below my expectations, and I will not be returning to this location.

If you're looking for seriously top-tier sushi in Placer County, this is it. We've had sushi all…read moreover the area and the sashimi here is in a league of its own. The most "popular" chain doesn't even touch it. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and just so good. But, honestly? The food is only a part of the reason we keep coming back, the service is what drives it home. We got to see Tae tonight (and I say that like it's a privilege, because it is). Whether she's our actual server or just making sure our meal gets to us in a timely fashion, she is a phenomenal human, truly. The best. We love talking to her, picking her brain about the menu, and simply just being around her. She knows exactly what the jackpot menu items are and somehow has a gift for putting together a meal that feels completely fit for royalty. My advice? Live a little, you deserve this.

Part of me didn't want to write this review because I didn't want this place to get even more busy…read more But this place is the best sushi you will get in Sacramento/Placer county! I, honestly, think the sushi and sashimi are better than Kru. The fish is so tender, buttery, and will melt in your mouth. The appetizers and rolls are SUPER yummy, with good flavor combinations. And the sushi chefs, servers, and staff are friendly and professional. They really know their fish, and are happy to explain the different cuts to you. They treat their customers well, and as a result, it is obvious that they get a lot of regulars. The one down side is that they don't take reservations, and depending on the day, it can be a long wait to be seated. So, I recommend that you don't come starving. But they are good about taking down your phone number and calling you when a table is ready. When it is a long wait, we usually go to the brewery across the street to hang out, and that works well for us. The ambiance is casual, so if you are looking for a fancy dining experience, this might not be the place for you. But the food is first rate! I highly recommend!
