Imagine there's a sushi Restaurant randomly in the back of a winco or a foodmaxx or something alike, that's how it seems where this Restaurant was at. Nevertheless, despite initial appearances, the place felt almost like a hole In a wall type of establishment, the inside almost feel similar to a home as it is family owned and feels rather close to actual local establishments in Japan. 50% off sushi sounds too good to be true but the sushi is actually rather decent, though if you aren't careful you'd find yourself still paying for a hefty price (considering today's economy and all). Delicious sushi the restaurant has such a nice vibe to it, which is made even better by the owners who are incredibly friendly and make excellent sushi. The quality of the sushi at the price is perfect. The sushi itself is not made to be aesthetically perfect, which is fine because it is made with quality being first priority and you can taste it. The only reason I don't give this hard-working restaurantuer couple 5 stars is because of their location- it's hampered their business for years. Interior-wise, the restaurant is very clean, traditional and neat. It's also small. They can only handle so many patrons at a time and they will turn away people which I think is better than making someone wait half an hour to get Sushi. You probably go to Mikuni a lot if you're in the Roseville area or any of the other more hip spots. But the food here is excellent. The service is excellent. It is a five star restaurant in a three star location and that is a crying shame. I think if they had more business steady customers, they could not only take a day off during the week ( or the year they are open seven days a week and I do mean seven days a week) they could hire some help and be the restaurant they deserve to be. I only say this because I've been going there a long time now, it's such a hidden gem for sushi-lovers, because they are so good- not because they're my friends or anything like that. I would just like to see this place flourish because it's worth it and they are good hard-working folk who deliver a pleasant experience with great tasting dishes and fresh fish. We came to the store to make an order to go because the website is just terrible. There is mo description of the ingredients and no pictures. We came with out small dog on the leash and the lady in front started to ask us to take our dog out. That's insane, our dog didn't even care about her, she is 12 years old, we can't leave her alone even for a minute, it was very rude we just wanted to order to go. So when we arrived home (10 minutes after picking up the food) our sushi looked so terrible, it was completely unpleasant to look at them. 4th picture. All the way to home I was carrying the bag and there was no way for it to happen because of us. That's how they gave us the order. 1st picture can show you the size of my sushi, insane! I couldn't go to any other sushi place and get the same ones but twice bigger! And next were so big I scratched the skin in the mouth with them as it was baked. Well pictures show everything. If you're looking to feel transported into a true sushi restaurant, you have to come to Yoko sushi. The staff were very kind, the food was great and the experience was a treat. The inside of the restaurant makes you feel comfortable, like you're truly in a sushi house. You can tell the owners put their joy into the ambiance. Even their plates are decorated. The setting can feel intimate and I really enjoyed that. At first I was skeptical of the Japanese lasagna, but I had to try it and I would most definitely order again. I personally was excited for the Spicy Killer Roll and it did not disappoint. I recommend the Spicy Killer if you're looking for a mellow spice with a fresh flavor. The hamachi sashimi was 4/5. It doesn't seem as busy as it as before but I notice the takeout services pick up food often. This restaurant serves great food and has reasonable prices. Our order, sashimi combo, catapillar roll, maguro nigiri a california roll a side of wakame salad last but not least a sunomono side. 2 orders of rice. All the food was on point now the fish was cut perfectly not to big but just a right bite for dipping and eating. The rice was also cooked to its perfection really good rice is the key for great sushi. The catapillar roll also nice flavor, texture from the tobiko was a crunch we like! The tuna nigiri was tender again the knife skills showed from the Chef. Our California roll was the right size not to large like a burrito from most places. Our cucumber salad was okay needed a little more thought with the prep but good. The real plus that I noticed was the ginger looked house made, if so this days alot of the care and dedication it takes to do things right. We came in at 8:20 and was hoping to get a table and they said no which wasn't a problem but we were disappointed. We got 4 rolls and some gyoza and when we got into the car to eat the sushi, it looked so unappetizing and it kept breaking. It was made very lazily and i wanted to go inside and get a refund but they locked their doors. I tried forcing myself to eat it last night but it just made me so sick. Family owned and operated, fresh, delicious sushi, served by very friendly staff, and a full menu page of sushi rolls that are ALWAYS priced at 50% off... there is everything to love about Yoko Sushi Japanese Restaurant in Roseville. My visit actually happened last year and I'm just now getting around to posting it on Yelp. Yoko Sushi is located in an office/shopping strip mall, in a separate location, at the far west end of the shopping center, near busy Sunrise Blvd. The location is a tad obscure, and the electrical meters on front wall don't exactly shout "curb appeal!" ... but the beautiful interior of the restaurant is another story. It only took Chef Don about ten minutes to prepare my lunch of "Happy Roll." It was a lot of fun to sit at the counter, and watch him chop, stir, roll, in a truly choreographed manner. Making a sushi roll is truly a culinary art, and Don is a master of his trade, and he's a nice guy. I suggested he just hand the plate to me, as I was sitting on the other side of the counter from his work area, and I thought I'd save him a few steps. From the half-price page of the menu, which offers about a dozen choices, I ordered the "Happy Roll," priced at $6.95, which, considering the costly ingredients, and sushi is very labor-intensive, makes this delicious entree a real bargain. "Happy Roll" features crab, avocado, avocado with salmon, sliced lemon, and of course rice, and all of the condiments. Chef Don asked me if I wanted some extra salmon on the side, along with a dollop of wasabi - which is Japanese horseradish - and I said, "Sign me up! I compliment Chef Don on his talent and skill, and thanked him for his friendly hospitality. The "Happy Roll" was fantastic, as it was made from amazingly fresh ingredients, skillfully prepared, with a beautiful presentation. Each ingredient was a stand-alone champion, but when you took a bite of the roll, each ingredient stood out, yet each ingredient complimented each other, and blended together to make the perfect sushi roll. You can't beat the page of half-priced sushi rolls, and you can't beat the quality, the quantity, and the talent that makes Yoko Sushi's rolls not only an outstanding sushi value, but a tasty, delicious roll. Yoko Sushi Japanese Restaurant is definitely a "go-to" restaurant for quality Japanese cuisine in Roseville. The intersection of Douglas and Sunrise Blvd in Roseville is SO busy that you may have missed Yoko Sushi on the corner. It's small restaurant that does get busy at times. I was visiting on a rainy day so it was pretty empty. My favorite thing about Sushi restaurants is the BBQ Albacore Tuna. Some restaurants hit this dish out of the park and others, like Yoko Sushi, well, it may not be their specialty. That's also my opinion and preference. It was pretty tasty and a large dish but not the melt in your mouth lightly seared small plates I LOVE. This was about 12 pieces of Tuna, in almost a broth like sauce to describe the consistency and amount. Sauce was tangy, not spicy and the tuna was not spicy either and a tad chewy. It still had a decent flavor and the staff was amazing too. I will have to try some rolls because obviously others are a fan of this little secret. read more

Must try place if you don't want to break the bank. This restaurant is so easy to miss because the front door of the restaurant is facing towards the back fence. I drove around the strip mall a couple of place before realizing that the entrance is not facing towards the parking lot.
