My sister said they just had been to this location a few weeks ago. It was our first time at this restaurant. It was a different sushi restaurant after Islands restaurant closed. I see mixed reviews now that I have gone, I don't get the bad reviews. I know restaurants, service business and people can have off days. But we really enjoyed the food, the restaurant and everyone we enteracted with was very helpful. Our server was amazing and all the food runners brought out or dishes as soon as they could. Sometimes it felt like we waited awhile for different items. But some are made at the sushi station and some are made back in the kitchen. We are happy everything is made fresh. Not an all you can eat buffet where everything is pre-made and sitting out. I have noticed at other Asian type restaurants.. the staff is no-nonsense they are there to do a job. The customer service is bare minimum. It's like they go out of their way to speak to you as little as possible. Only a few tables were occupied during my visit and they still took a few minutes to take my order. The order arrived quick but the tuna and salmon nigiri was not great, didn't taste very fresh, and they drop off the order without saying anything like they're super busy. The ambiance is odd, you can hear a lot of noise from the kitchen area, and even when they're clearing dishes off the table, it was very loud, like they were closed and no customers were around. The music is barely audible, they use harsh lighting that makes the restaurant feel even less hospitable. I always come here with my family, including my nephew and niece, who are 9 and 1 year old. The staff are always incredibly friendly, kind, and understanding, especially when it comes to having little kids at the table. Of course, kids can sometimes make a bit of a mess, but we always make sure to tip well because we truly appreciate how patient and welcoming the staff are every time we visit. The sushi here is honestly some of the best for the price. The sashimi and nigiri are always fresh, and I love how thick and generous the cuts of fish are. Their AYCE price is also very reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. I don't want to name other places, but I've been to AYCE sushi restaurants where you get way more rice than fish. Here, the fish-to-rice ratio is perfect, and it's hands down one of the best bangs for your buck. I came in this morning for my moms birthday. It was her first experience, i came with my mom and my sister. We came in right when they opened and we saw that there was only one other table in the whole restaurant. First off, the sushi is always really good, however, when we ordered our first round of appetizers, they didn't arrive until the second round of appetizers came. I could tell the food had been sitting there because when we got it it was cold and stale compared to our hotter appetizers that we had just ordered. I would look around and see my server eating in the back when she could have been bringing out appetizers. Another thing is that whenever my sister tried ordering food the server would keep repeating "anything else" in a very dry and cold tone. One key thing during my experience is that not once did she come over and ask how we are doing or how everything is. Keep in mind at this point there were only 2 other tables around us. We thought the food was fresh, it has an excellent veriety of things on the menu, the Nigri my friend had he loved, I loved all the rolls I had! They were great on flavor, and quality! They had lots of sides to order but the Chinese food sides were delicious and they had a Coconut shrimp, which was exactly like a Honey Walnut shrimp, but without the nuts! It made me so happy!!! I've seen a lot of places a come and go from this awkward corner of Taylor and E Roseville, and I'm glad Akame has landed. I've visited a few times in the past year for AYCE, and I've always had kind and timely service from the staff here. I typically order a bunch of hand rolls and 1-2 speciality rolls right away, and they have always come out so quickly - sometimes even before staff has had time to drop my hot tea off. They give me plenty of time to enjoy before returning to order more, and the swoop by so quickly to clear plates. The fish has always tasted fresh, no off smells, and the cuts are generous. I honestly can't get enough of the hand rolls, and have gone down the course A menu trying each one - I always come back to the tuna one, as it's a classic. Akame also does full 8 piece rolls, which is a lot so I don't always go for them. As a spice and tuna fan, the Akame and red flags are ones I'd return to. Haven't tried much of the prepared food, but I like to finish off my meal with miso soup, which you really can't go wrong. I've been here several times now and can say it's worth it. There aren't many sushi buffets in sac that serve decent sushi. This is a bit of a drive for me since I live in Sacramento, but I'll go out of my way to come here if we're craving sushi. We usually go with option "B" for the all you can eat since I don't eat a lot of the additional items from option "C". I really like the hibachi steak, the cream cheese wontons and the Habachi Kama. All the sushi dishes are good also. I like the yellowtail. The habachi kama is a must try. For the sushi rolls, they are good, but I feel like the portion of rice is more than at other sushi places. It makes you full faster. So I limit my sushi roll orders. You also get your choice of different flavored and different types of ice cream. Service is great too. The servers checked in is and refilled our drinks. They also make great great recommendations. The restaurant itself is nice and can take large crowds. I hope this place stays for the long run, because I've seen so many different names on the building that Akame is housed in. The restaurant is spacious when you walk in and we were seated right away. The staff were super attentive to our orders and the food came out pretty fast. The price point was not too expensive and the amount you receive is a good proportion. For the limited items, try them because you might as well since you are paying for it and with that said it was the first time I tried Uni and it wasn't bad at all. We utilized getting the sashimi an each piece was fresh and delicious. I would suggest a thinner cut on the sashimi next time but overall the food was good and we didn't feel stuffed after spending an hour ordering rounds after rounds. Maybe 3.5 stars. We drive by this location multiple times in a week and have talked about stopping by to check it out. We had been to the previous establishment that was at this location, Maneki, but weren't too impressed by it. Decided to stop by on a weekday, to avoid any potential weekend crowds. When we first entered, we noticed they had kept the Maneki cat artwork on the wall that the previous establishment had displayed. Seemed fitting, since it was a Japanese restaurant. No one was at the host stand so we stood around awkwardly while wondering if we were supposed to seat ourselves or what. No friendly call-out from the sushi chefs that we're used to at other locations either. Finally a server who was standing at a table noticed us and walked over to us slowly. No apology for the delay, no friendly greeting, nothing, just a question of how many. Walked us to a roomy booth, which looked promising until I realized it smelled like a wet mildewy rag must have been used to wipe the table. Tried to find a sanitizing wipe to clean the table again, to get rid of the smell. Ice water was dropped off at our table in cups that did not look very clean. The plates did not seem very clean either. I stopped by the restroom and while walking back to the table was a little concerned about the cleanliness of the restaurant. I don't know what it was, maybe something I noticed subconsciously that made me feel like they don't put a lot of emphasis in deep cleaning. The sound of the servers' Crocs-type shoes keep catching my attention and my gaze going to the floor, noticing discarded chopstick wrappers. Menu was vast. Definitely a good place to go if you like variety. Price didn't seem bad. Taste was just ok. Felt like they add salt or something to their sushi rice, which was odd. Either use plain sushi rice or add the vinegar mix. But not salt. Unless they're trying to sell customers more drinks? I've been here a few times, and it's the best all you can eat sushi I've had. I'm from out of town so this is always a must-go when I'm around. The service is always a bit slow, so I'm glad they aren't strict about the time limit. Other times I've went they were good portions, but the most recent time I went they were giving us more than stated on the menu so we didn't get to try as much. For example, we ordered an appetizer and instead of 6 of the item we got 10. For the nigiri we got 4 or 6 I can't remember. Came here for dinner on Friday night around 7pm. The restaurant itself is super spacious with a nice open layout, and you can see the sushi chefs working right in the middle which was cool. However, when we first walked in, there wasn't anyone at the host stand to greet us. The chefs noticed us but didn't say anything, so we ended up waiting a few minutes until a server came over to seat us. Once seated, you scan the QR code for the menu. They offer three different AYCE options, and we chose Course C ($46.99). The selection is pretty impressive that includes appetizers, soups, stir fry, sushi rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and even desserts like ice cream. They also hand you a separate drinks menu with milk tea, Thai tea, and other options (those aren't included in AYCE). I did like that they give you a pitcher of water in a hydro flask style container to keep it cold! Service wise, it could've been better. Our server wasn't very attentive and we had to wave her down a few times just to order another round. The food itself, though, was good. Fresh and flavorful! My favorite was definitely the pepper fin salad, it had the perfect balance of spice and citrus. Overall, not a bad spot for the price with plenty of options to choose from. For an AYCE place I am pretty happy. Service is usually pretty good on the afternoon, but can get a little slow (be prepared to maybe wave or head nod) when there are 5 or more tables. I came to Akame Sushi in Roseville for AYCE sushi and had a pretty good experience. We came for dinner on a Monday and there was no wait for a table. The front door is oddly located, all the way around on the other side from the parking lot. There are 3 options of AYCE to choose from. The first, A, is $27.99 and includes rolls, hand rolls, and appetizers. The second tier, B, includes nigiri and is $36.99. The top tier, C, includes sashimi and is $46.99. We opted for option B. We tried the salmon, yellowtail, octopus, walu, garlic salmon, and garlic yellowtail. I liked all of the fish, but the salmon and yellowtail best. The fish was fresh and delicious. The garlic versions were really good too. The hamachi kama was really good. The grilled oysters were okay. I enjoyed the soft shell crab and sesame balls. I tried some of the udon, which was good. The ice cream desserts were just so so. The salmon tacos (salmon kingdom) were so good! Salmon, rice, avocado, and ikura on crispy nori. I really enjoyed that one. We had Course B so that we could try the tacos and nigiri. We pretty much ordered everything we wanted in the first round so we didn't need much afterward except for a couple things! The salmon lava roll was cute and shaped like a heart but I wasn't a fan of the spicy salmon texture. The lemon salmon roll was a little underwhelming, needed way more lemon. The Mr. Krabs was our favorite of the specialty rolls because of the torched salmon and overall it had the most flavor. Overall appreciated that these specialty rolls didn't have too much rice. The nigiri was all pretty decent but wish they would include pickled wasabi in their AYCE price!! The best nigiri were actually the garlic ones, again they had the most flavor. We did get our food, but it came out one by one, and the drinks we ordered, like hot tea and the extra items we requested, took a while. No one really checked on us to see if we needed anything else. A lot of the time, I had to wave someone down. It just so happened that when a waiter was serving food to a table nearby, that was the only time I could get someone's attention to ask for service. We got the Blue All-You-Can-Eat option. I ordered quite a few raw specialty rolls, and some of them had good flavor. The taco was good too. This was my first time here, and I thought their portions would be small, but they were actually big. They don't limit how much you can order, which is nice. I'm not sure if they offer half rolls, but I would definitely do that. The miso soup comes in a bigger cup, not the usual small one, so if you're coming with a partner, you can just get one and share. I'm not sure if I would come back. I'd rather go to Shabu Hot Pot in Elk Grove to get my sashimi or sushi fix along with hot pot. Since there isn't a limit on how many orders you can place at once, I gave our server a list of nigiri that we wanted to have. When we received our first order (it took awhile), it was less than half of what was placed, and certain orders were missing entirely. I told our server, and she was quite apologetic! She added another order to make up for the rest, but when it came (after another while), it was STILL wrong. We have been wanting to check this place out we remember when it used to be Island Burger. We finally made it out with some friends of ours and we all loved it. We were seated quickly, the staff was friendly and helpful it being our first time. I was really surprised at how many choices you get with the all you can eat options including appetizers! This is a great way to try new sushi rolls or things you've been wanting to try. It is nice to go with friends so you can share and each try all the rolls. The restaurant is nice and large and beautiful inside. You can see the chefs preparing sushi in the center of the restaurant. The sushi was plated so beautifully! This is a great date night spot and group outing. They have a few different options for the all you can eat selection. If one person in your group gets one of the higher more inclusive options the whole table has to as well. We will definitely be back, we love sushi and all you can eat places like this. If certain items on Akame Sushi's menu were to be compared with the other of my favorite AYCE Japanese restaurants in Roseville, then how this restaurant prepared its tempura fried items is abnormally more unrefined, coarse, over crunchy, over fried texture. The popular distinction of how most Japanese chefs prepare their offerings are the refined presentation, taste and texture. It is still worth dining at Akame Sushi for its fantastic price and extensive choices, some not offered at other places. However, their tempura coatings should be further pulverized to render a lighter golden yet crispy and finer texture. Their tempura coatings are way too coarse and over fried. If I were to take a blind taste test, some of the fish choices I selected for my Nigiri either had no distinctive taste or all tasted the same regardless of the different raw fish slices ordered. But we are still lucky to have so many basically wonderful Japanese restaurants, each carry their distinctive creations as well as what we consider generic. Unlike other types of restaurants, some Japanese restaurants are just a couple notches better than others, but none are just average. More health reliable than most mainstream type eateries where we may not really want to know how unhealthy food is prepared. The Japanese restaurants I have patronized thus far seem to operate impeccable kitchens. I always stipulate when I dined at any restaurant to legitimize my critiques. Really disappointing experience at Akame Sushi. From the moment we sat down, the service was just not there. We waited a long time just to get any kind of attention, and no one really checked in on us throughout the meal. We even had to ask for water ourselves, which should honestly be one of the first things taken care of. We did receive a couple of appetizers, but after that, everything slowed down significantly. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes for the rest of our food, and there was no communication or updates from the staff about the delay. It felt like we were completely forgotten. On top of that, the cleanliness was concerning. The restaurant overall didn't feel very clean, and the high chair we were given for our child was filthy. That alone was a huge red flag. Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. The food here was okay. Some of the nigiri we had was a bit fishy even though it had different sauces or garnishes on it. The cuts were also really big compared to other places we've been too. We did enjoy the sushi tacos and shrimp tempura. The cream cheese wonton were not enjoyable at all. It was way too sweet in my opinion. Family took us to experience their AYCE Sushi option. We opted for Course B because we love ordering tons of Nigiri at all you can eat sushi spots. Everything was so tasty. Our family went a little crazy ordering nearly everything on the menu, but we managed to finish it all. For dessert we had Melona bars and our server kept offering us more. It was our parents first time having it and they tried every flavor they had haha. Service was quick. Servers were attentive to our big party. Lots of seating available. I love AYCE sushi! So we came on a Sunday for lunch. They have 3 levels to choose from and we got B for $37.99. There is a wide selection from appetizers, rice, noodles , soup, nigiri to rolls. We checked out he menu before arriving to save some time time. We got a little bit of everything. They serve full rolls and the Nigiri has a considerable amount of rice that you get full very quick. As with all AYCE, they will charge you for uneaten food so be careful. It was good but not as good as Its Sushi but better than Raku. It was very middle of the road. I write this almost a month later and have a tough time remembering much about what i ate. What I liked... appreciated the water carafe. Service was friendly and generally good although they seemed to have forgotten about us at the end that i had to wave her down. So between the two of us we spent close to $100 with tip. I think it may have been a little cheaper if we just ordered ala carte? It will probably be awhile before we return. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, we were immediately seated for 3. We chose the option B bc we wanted nigiri. Interior vibes were cool, they had tvs and booths which is a plus. Our waiter took awhile to come over but we got a large set of water so they wouldn't have to come back and forth to refill. It's AYCE sushi, we probably did about 4-5 rounds of sushi. Our food came out pretty fast, I don't think we've waited more than 10 mins. Sushi flavors are great, they have multiple different rolls but I wanted to get my moneys worth so we mostly got nigiri, one star down bc they don't serve just sashimi but the salmon lava was def a favorite. For some reason I was expecting more from the salmon tacos but they weren't bad. I feel like the edamame could've been a little better flavor, I feel like it was just garlic mixed with sriracha but we're here for the sushi! I would def come back when I'm in the area. read more
