    Rainbow roll

Tang's is a sushi restaurant that I visited numerous times for many years. However it had been a few years since my last visit and hubby had never dined here. My last review was 3 stars and this review is 3 stars again. Hubby ordered the bento box for a whopping $27! Crazy high price for a normal, nothing special bento box. I had a bite of his salmon teriyaki, and it was tasty, but didn't warrant this high price! I ordered the 3 piece BBQ white tuna. Nowhere on the menu does it say the BBQ sauce is a spicy chili sauce. I wasn't expecting that and could not eat much of it due to the sauce. Service is good, and the passing by sushi rolls to other tables looked good. But this restaurant prices are just way too high to warrant a return for me.

I'd say Tang's is the best sushi in Roseville but truth is it's the best sushi ANYWHERE! Sushi is my favorite food and I travel a lot so I'm always trying different places all over the word and I have yet to find anywhere that compares to Tang's! The quality, the atmosphere, the service, and the employees it's all just incredible and on point! PS: highly recommend trying the secret menu items (Swag roll & Mc'lovin roll)

We were eagerly greeted and showed to our table. The waiter gave us a run down of the menu and with no pressure to hurry up and order. The restaurant had great uplifting fun music playing that made the experience so much better. We ordered and she asked for a special roll that they don't have on the menu and gave the chef full go at making it. He knocked it out the park, after we stayed and talked to him and listened to what became his inspiration to make it. He later told us they might put it on the menu. Not going anywhere else while in town before going back to Texas.

I remember seeing Tang's always popping up on my Yelp with great reviews and delicious looking photos, but when I came in to dine with a group, I was sorely disappointed. The sushi rice had such a gummy texture that it felt similar to the Snowfox pre-packaged sushi sold in grocery stores. We also ordered a sashimi plate to share and the maguro felt highly questionable. The texture felt too soft and gummy, it lacked the bite and body of a normal maguro. The taste of it was also very fishy as well. Based off photos and other reviews on their omakase platter, I'm going to believe that Tang's does their experimental/seared/saucey/Americanized items quite well. But I wouldn't recommend Tang's to someone looking for sushi with delicate flavors and authentic techniques that enhance the natural flavor of the fish.

    Tuna

Good enough, not great food. First visit. Friendly greeting. Immediate seating. Water brought promptly. Young staff eager to serve quickly. After the wine & beer are graciously placed before us, we order food. Tuna for Bambie. Bento box for me with 2 upgrades which bumps the price up $4. So the meal was $27 which is highest price for a Bento box dinner in any Roseville Japanese restaurant I've eaten in so far. I've eaten at ten others around town. Flavors, textures, plate appearance is all acceptable. Pretty much average for any Japanese American restaurant in this price category. I ate all the food placed before me. It was generous potions to satisfy my normal ravenous appetite. Is this my favorite Japanese restaurant in Roseville? No. I like the food, table service and dining rooms at Azayaka (over by Costco on Galleria) and ITS Sushi on Junction Blvd a WHOLE lot more. Though Tang's is very close to my home I'll drive the extra 10 minutes to the other preferred places in the future.

Sj all day roll, Fendi, and lobster chips

We will be back very soon! Our server, Gary was fantastic, not only did he give us special sauces, but recommended a roll off the menu that was superb. The "Fendi" which had fried shrimp, spicy crab, albacore tuna, crunchy garlic, miso glaze and a hint of BBQ sauce. The lobster chips are also a secret menu item that are a must try. Be prepared for a wait that is well worth it!

    Sake flight
    Gretchen T.

Came here a few minutes after they opened for dinner hours and was seated right away at the sushi bar. There were a few tables seated already. I got a sake flight and the omakase. The sake flight was a nice mix of dry and sweet sake. The omakase was amazing! The sauces, the textures, the freshness. So good. It was the perfect amount for one person. The little Pringles appetizer, the ceviche tostada, and the baby scallop on cucumber were my favorites. The sashimi was so fresh and perfectly lightly seasoned. The total was around $80 before tip. Would come back to try everything again.

    Pepperfin & chirashi
    Alesia i.

Wanted to try something new. Prices seemed reasonable. Sushi was great. Had the pepperfin app & chirashi. The only complaint was there wasn't enough "sides" on the chirashi. (Ex fish eggs, tamago unagi) like other sushi spots. Customer service was great. Definitely would come back!

    Lobster roll, Lion King, Hawaiian

I was craving for sushi and my husband and I decided to try out this restaurant. Wait time on a Friday night for 2 of us was 15-20 minutes, which wasn't bad. Our food took about 15 minutes to come out. It was well worth the wait! I loved the Lion King roll. I heard many people around us also order the same roll and now i know why! The owner was also there. We loved that his staff and himself acknowledged returning guests.

    Stacy's tostada

amazing!!!! I ordered i think stacy's tostada? It was so refreshing and delicious. I also ordered the caliente roll SOOOO GOOD!!!!service was amazing i can't wait to go back

Tang's sushi is an experience you cannot miss. Your experience is what you make of it. There are some secret menu that only locals know about. Let me introduce you to some of my favorites: 1) Their new Tang's lobster roll 2 is basically the lobster roll taken to a whole new level with the chili oil combined with their secret sauce. 2) Another all star roll is the surf and turf roll which is a combo lobster roll and rib eye steak all in one bite! 3) Noricho - ahi tuna topped with avocado sauce, pickled onions, jalapeño and their secret sauce. Perfected with pickled wasabi over crispy seaweed chips. An appetizer you cannot miss. 4) Ootoro - tuna belly that just tastes like butter that melts in your mouth and takes you to heaven. If you are looking to spice up your sushi experience, I highly recommend trying these items. They will not disappoint.

Automatically taking in the ambience of the restaurant, it felt really clean and has a nice dim light that makes the dining experience feel private. The service was very attentive and they'll do a temperature check on how the food is with you after you receive your meal and they were all genuinely very friendly. 10/10 for the service, no doubt. For food, we ordered their "Fukumi Ramen" and their chicken karaage . Chicken karaage came out first and was freshly fried. The coating was amazingly light and the chicken itself was flavorful. It comes served with a lemon wedge and tiny pieces of salad and the dressing in the salad was delicious! For the Fukumi Ramen bowl itself, the initial taste of the broth was flavorful and the black garlic oil was a nice touch. You'll immediately notice how thickkkk their chasu slices are and I think the free order of extra noodles is a nice plus. However, the thin noodles served with the Fukumi Ramen bowl seemed like a lighter color than I normally see at ramen places and the noodles were overcooked so I feel like it obscured the overall taste of the ramen itself since ramen noodles make up so much of the bite. Even though the extra noodles were free and a nice complimentary addition, I feel like I could tell why because the ramen noodles lacked the quality the rest of the bowl had. The tamago egg was decent and I was surprised because it looked like a plain white boiled egg rather than the traditional brown seasoned egg you get in ramen. Overall, I think Fukumi Ramen can do the job of satisfying a cold rainy day, and I think with their wide variety of ramen options, you'll definitely have to try and find one that might hit for you! Portions are huge here too so it might take a couple visits to try more options!

Today's mission: find something fast, affordable, and satisfying...and WOW did they deliver. I was craving a solid bibimbap, and this one hit all the right notes. Oh, and it comes with miso soup? Say less. Full, happy, and back to work in no time. Now let's talk sushi... because they're not playing around here. Ever been somewhere that loads up the rice and skimps on the good stuff? Yeah, not here. These rolls are PACKED with filling and just the right amount of rice...finally, the balance we deserve. It's a very modern, small restaurant, and the bar seating is definitely the focal point of the space, though the overall vibe felt a little cold with minimal decoration. I'd love to come back to try their full omakase experience eventually, but the service was a real letdown. Even though we were the only two people in the restaurant most of the time, we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, I said out loud that we were ready to order; the staff including our waitress stopped for a second, looked at us, and then just went back to what they were doing without acknowledging us. It was as if we were on her time, and she was making it clear that she would get to us when she felt like it, not when we were ready. The wait for food was also way too long. Despite being the only ones there, I waited about 40 minutes for my ceviche mixto bowl ($22). For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid. I noticed the drink menu didn't have many sweet cocktail options, so I asked if they could make me a lemon drop instead; and they granted the request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The food and drinks are great, but the service and kitchen speed really need to be more attentive to match the quality of the menu.
