Hubs and I thought we would give this place another try. It's been years and we didn't want to fight the line at Mikuni. We had the King Kong, ZAKURO and the Red Bull. The Zakuro was delicious, and the crispy scallop on top was delightful. The other two, ummm, no. The taste of liquid smoke BBQ and the texture of the fish didn't go well. It's the first time ever that we didn't clean our plates. The service was great!

Went here for dinner visiting from out of town attending a concert. Had a short wait before being seated. Ambiance was a bit loud due to the high ceilings, but was a fun atmosphere. Server took our order quickly and drinks came quickly. I ordered a glass if wine and had the dinner combo of chicken teriyaki and gyoza. The combo comes with salad, serving of white rice and miso soup. Really, really good food. I could not finish my dinner, was very full. You will definitely have enough for lunch the next day. You cant beat this deal for the price paid. Great service, great meal and plenty of parking. Give this place a try when in town, you wont be disappointed!

It was a very unique and an elite experience. The place the ambiance food service everything was slick. The food was unbelievably delicious. I had zakuro spaghetti. The light cream sauce in which the seafood and el Dante udon noodles was served in a well presented manner made my weekend special. Highly recommend for a date night or any special event night if you would like a slick and elite experience . Food be it salad or entree or shooter was done with great care. The chef meets the guests he did look like lawyer Vince who is trending on fb reels now. Five star experience.

My family and I chose Zakuro's for dinner to celebrate my award from WPUSD. We didn't feel like driving to Rocklin/Roseville for sushi and it has been years since our last visit. Chong, was our server, it's nice to see her still here! She's one of the longest working servers there! It was quite busy when we came but were seated quick. We ordered: *Pepperfin Appetizer 5/5 *Sea Steak Nigiri 4/5-it fell apart bc of the sauce before you could put it in your mouth *Sashimi Deluxe 5/5-so much sashimi and very fresh, worth the $$$ *Shrimp tempura appetizer 5/5-fried perfectly-not frozen! *Ebi Nigiri 5/5 We also ordered Orion beer, miso soup, Edamame, Tekka Maki, and Gyoza. All in all, we enjoyed our meal, no complaints. Chong took really good care of us even though it was busy and stayed on top of everything. Glad we have Zakuro's in Lincoln and wish them continued success!

I went here tonight with my sister for dinner. Our waiter was kind and attentive. The food was good and the menu had a wide variety of offerings. We ordered the vegetable tempura as an appetizer. It came out late with our food and not every piece was warm. That was sad but I didn't say anything because we were hungry and ready to eat. We ordered the Rex Special and Unaten Maki. The rolls were delicious. I recommend asking for thin slice because they are big rolls. This is a nice place to go in the neighborhood and the staff are welcoming.

Still craving sushi after my last online debaucle at another establishment. I decided to try something new. So, I went local again and had delivery from here. It was easy to order and arrived nicely packaged right at the designated time they gave me. My order consisted of Edamame, 2 salads, 2 miso soups, Oceans 12 roll, Mike BB roll, Lion King roll, and a Fantastic 4 roll. The Edamame were good, as was the salad and miso, yet very ordinary and just so-so. Nothing stood out as all that great, just blandly ordinary. The rolls were OK, but honestly, it was hard to tell one from another. The salmon was good quality, and the crunchy shrimp stood out from the rest. My biggest issue was that the fish/seafood in the rolls was minimal compared to the rice, wrap, and other ingredients that overwhelmed what seafood existed. The other issue was it didn't look or taste freshly made, as if it had been previously refrigerated or frozen. Each piece was limp and lacked luster. My dining partner commented that it didn't appear professionally prepared. Each piece just fell apart when picking it up with chop sticks. Overall, it was just OK, yet I was rather disappointed as the whole idea of sushi is freshness. Perhaps I hit a bad day.

Great spot for an affordable and tasty lunch! The bento box was packed with flavor and variety--perfect portion and super satisfying. Everything was fresh, from the crispy tempura to the savory katsu. Fast service and a great value for the price. Definitely coming back for lunch again!

The food was great and straight forward sushi. The fish was very fresh even on a more plain roll. The restaurant only had one server and she was fantastic but definitely use some extra support. My only issue with Zakuro was the ambiance/organization of the guest facing areas. Now everything was moderately clean but they really need some sort of divider separating their BOH/ToGo stations. It felt very messy and more like eating in a warehouse than a restaurant I also believe some better more intimate lighting would make this place shine. When we came in on a Sunday afternoon nearly all the lights were off in the restaurant.

Always been a fan of this place because the food is phenomenal. I decided to write this review because with today's visit, came a sweet surprise. I mentioned my daughter not feeling well and craving miso soup. With order came a sweet get well soon message. It means a lot for a business to show they care.

I appreciated that the staff had a number system set up for the crowd, and a staff member was outside to direct what line to go to and also to let people know the estimated wait time. So the chaos was kept to a minimum. When it was our turn to dine in, the staff were fast and efficient with bringing a carafe of water and glasses to the table. Our food came out in less than 5 minutes of being seated. I had the black garlic tonkatsu (thin noodles) and my husband had the chicken paitan (thin noodles). The pork broth and the chashu were flavorful and tender. The chicken broth was good with a light creamy layer of flavor. The chicken chashu were nice cuts of white meat. The restaurant is on the smaller side and is cutely decorated with all the holidays (check out the ghost near the restroom), anime, and other Japanese motif. There are also shelves of Japanese snacks, candy, and knick knacks for sale. Congrats to the owners and staff of Umami Ramen-Lincoln on 1 year in business! Came here on a Saturday night for a birthday dinner and it was packed! Glad we made a reservation…read moreeven though we still had a wait after we arrived. Once we sat down at our table they came and took our drink and dinner orders. There are tons of options for hibachi with lots of proteins. I went with shrimp and filet mignon. Filet was 6 bucks more than steak and I think it was worth it, tender and delicious. I thought the prices were reasonable for what you get. The show was fun, typical hibachi fare, volcano, fire, flying broccoli. I skipped the sake/water fountain. I really enjoyed the food- the fried rice, soup, steak and shrimp were all great. The shrimp was the best I've ever had at this type of place. The veggies were the only disappointment, definitely undercooked. But I had plenty of food and we took home leftovers. The birthday song with the gong was hysterical and our waiter came out and sang an extra song too. The place is obviously aging and could use a refresh as well as some better ventilation. I left with a headache from the smoke. But the food was delicious and we would come back.

It's pretty big and there were green things all over the floor; broccoli bits that people missed catching. The chefs are party savvy and try to toss one in the air as customers catch them in their mouths. I had a 50% catch rate. It's fun! It's amazing how they keep track of everybody's orders and cook it up on the grill-table right in front of you. MEDIUM: The place is a mill. We were barely finishing our main courses and they were hurriedly cleaning up and bringing new setups for next customers. We felt quite rushed. FAILS: 1) As a birthday celebration, as we walked in, I handed a written note to our server, indicating who in our party was having the birthday. They did absolutely nothing. No singing (like they were doing at some other tables), no dessert offering, nothing. 2) They add a huge tip to the receipt without telling you. And then the receipt has a second place asking for an additional tip. Watch out!! I crossed out their desired tip and added my own quite reasonable amount. As we were leaving the building, our server (young Asian female with round glasses) chased after me in the parking lot to argue about the tip and asked for more. That's downright rude. Remember, tips are OPTIONAL (unless pre-posted in writing) and subject to the patron's discretion. BOTTOM LINE: The chef was fun, and the food good. But kinda like "aside from that, Mr. Lincoln, how was the play?" Being chased when outside to beg for more tip put a sour spin on the experience.

It's a very modern, small restaurant, and the bar seating is definitely the focal point of the space, though the overall vibe felt a little cold with minimal decoration. I'd love to come back to try their full omakase experience eventually, but the service was a real letdown. Even though we were the only two people in the restaurant most of the time, we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, I said out loud that we were ready to order; the staff including our waitress stopped for a second, looked at us, and then just went back to what they were doing without acknowledging us. It was as if we were on her time, and she was making it clear that she would get to us when she felt like it, not when we were ready. The wait for food was also way too long. Despite being the only ones there, I waited about 40 minutes for my ceviche mixto bowl ($22). For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid. I noticed the drink menu didn't have many sweet cocktail options, so I asked if they could make me a lemon drop instead; and they granted the request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The food and drinks are great, but the service and kitchen speed really need to be more attentive to match the quality of the menu.
