This is my local go to for good sushi. The staff is polite and friendly with great service. The restaurant is somewhat small, but very comfortable. Most of their customers generally get their food to go, like I do sometimes. BTW, they also serve fish & chips, that's quite popular too!! Looking forward to going back soon.
I ran a food challenge on Nextdoor app looking for a few fish & chip places. Tugboat came up a few times. I was looking for a local place as I am in Roseville. Walking into the building it was easily accessible off Lincoln Blvd just getting into town. Was immediately greeted to place my order. The place was clean and owners were very warm welcoming. Nice people. I ordered the 2 piece fish & chips. It came out fairly quickly and fried well. Crunchy and flavorful. I'll have to return another time because the sushi looked great as well.
The restaurant was cute and clean in a strip mall location. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table. They have about 30 types of sushi that looked good but we were in the mood for fish and chips. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are enormous. The fish pieces were about a foot long. The tempura style coating on the fish and veggies was perfectly crispy. The lumpia was excellent. The chips were a big disappointment because they were just frozen crinkle cut fries. Our other criticism is there did not seem to be any salt on anything. I deducted a star because of the chips and lack of salt. The bathroom was clean. Next time we will just order the veggie combo and a couple of pieces of fish on the side.

Well appointed and tastefully decorated. Homemade tartar sauce. Great quality food! Generous portions of fish! Well fried and crispy! Not the least bit greasy! Great calming background music. Friendly, courteous, welcoming, and smiling staff. Each individual order freshly fried at the moment of ordering. Malt vinegar and lemon slices available. My new go-to place for fish & chips!
The owners are so kind AND the food is delicious! I mean, everything fried is good rightHubs and I enjoyed the Tugboat, 6 pieces of fish with chips and a side of ginormous fried mushrooms! They bring all the fresh sauce directly from the fridge to your table. The fish is a generous portion and nice and CRISPY. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed! Now, it's nap time

Stopped by Tugboats for lunch today and really enjoyed it! You order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table, which came out super fast. I got the Yummy Yummy Roll, hushpuppies, and lumpia--all were fresh and really good. The malt vinegar on the table goes perfectly with the hushpuppies, and the lumpia comes with a sweet and sour sauce that was great. Everyone working was super friendly and helpful. They've got a big menu with lots of appetizers, sushi, and fish options to choose from. The inside is cute too, with fun wall decorations that make it feel cozy. Only downside is the parking lot--it's pretty small and can be tough to get in and out of when it's busy. But overall, definitely a solid spot for lunch!
Service is always quick and staff is always friendly. I have never had a roll I don't like!
I've been going for month, up to a year. I love their sushi. Dynamite (spicy) on the left and Flying Tiger (lemon) on the right. The fish and chips are good too. The seating area is relaxing. The parking lot is small but worth if you can get in or take to go.
this place is a gem! I haven't been here in a while, but I was nearby and had a craving so I stopped in. I'm so glad I did because I was hungry when I ordered hit the spot. They are so nice here service is always done with a smile and done quickly. There is Apple seating inside, which is very roomy and comfortable. I will definitely be back more often.
Wow! Very nice people run this little restaurant. The fish and chips are good. Their tartar sauce and ranch are also very good. We saw the great ratings on Yelp and decided we had to give tugboat a try. I'm glad we did. I ordered the lunch special; 1 fish, 3 onion rings, 3 lumpia, 3 zucchini, fries, and a canned drink for $10.99, my wife ordered the same, except she got 3 potstickers instead of lumpia. Lastly, we tried one sushi roll, California special, which turned out to be really good. This spot has been here for over 20 years, and this is our first time visiting. It's decorated and arranged nicely, and everybody from the staff people to the customers seem to be happy! Nice place for lunch, for sure! I'm sure we'll be back.
Before moving to Roseville last year, I had a local go-to spot where I went to when I wanted to get my fish and chips fix. Alas, this was my first time making attempt to find new one close to where I now reside. On my way to this establishment, there was quite a bit of traffic on a Saturday after 1:30PM. Parking was decent, walked in and was greeted right away. There was quite of people seated (and more arriving after I placed an order.) Everything seemed very clean and tidy and the decor was pleasant. I ordered hushpuppies, 2 fish + chips and 4 prawns to go. Everything was prepared and ready to go within 10 minutes. The food: Hushpuppies: 3/5 - They borderline too toasty for me. Fortunately, inside wasn't too bad. Fish and Prawns: 4.5/5 - They were good. Generous sized meal - I felt like the fish could have been seasoned a tad bit more. Fries - 3/5 - Crinkle cut fries. By the time I got back home, they were still semi crispy but were just normal fries. Not terribly oily. Overall, I still will return to try more of their meals. Apparently, they also serve sushi so I'd like to give that a shot as well. Thanks! read more

Delicious fish and chips and sushi. Tugboat is a gem in Lincoln. This is more of a takeout place, but eating fish and chips fresh at the restaurant is worth it. Run by a family, this mom and pop restaurant is worth the visit. We got the following for a table of 5: 1. Fish and chips 5/5 2. Lunch special (1 fish, fries, fried zucchini, onion rings, and potstickers or lumpia) 5/5 3. OMG sushi roll (spicy and delicious) 5/5 4. Happy sushi roll 5/5. Lemon and salmon on top of a California roll is perfection 5. Lion king sushi roll 5/5. Always love a classic baked lion king roll 6. Flying Tiger 4/5. I had a better experience than I did years ago. My man and I came in here for my craving and Tugboat Fish & Chips was the place to go. It was an hour before closing and it looked like we had missed the rush. We were able to order right away at the register. We got a 2 piece fish & chips and prawn & chips. As we made our way to an open table, we sat and waited about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. They also brought ketchup, cocktail sauce and their infamous tarter sauce that I've never tasted anywhere else but at Tugboats! I did notice the fish was pretty thin. Over the years, it seems like the pieces got smaller. It's about 50/50 fish to batter... it still had that delicious taste of Tugboat, but with less fish than in the past. I like that they serve their meals with a few crispy onion rings and crinkle fries. They make everything to order!! I like the ocean theme they have going on inside Tugboat. There was music playing as we ate. They also offer a small variety of sushi. I haven't tried it yet, but next time, I plan on it. Thank you for a delicious dinner!! read more

We were thinking of going to Thunder Valley, but glad we decided to try this place. They have a fish and chips menu, and a sushi menu. They also have a lunch special on the menu...but maybe next time. I ordered the fish and chicken. Everything was nice and crispy and the tartar sauce was so good. We also ordered a few sushi rolls to go too. We got to see them make the sushi fresh. I like how they didn't put too much rice in the Cali roll. After a short wait, they brought out our order with a box with the carry out boxes and paper bags/tray for the fish and chips, and included chop sticks and sauces. My new favorite spot in Lincoln! We will definitely be back. read more
Super surprised about this place! Found this at Yelp on our way home to Roseville and just decided to give it a try... didn't disappoint! We ordered the fish and prawns, fish n chicken, cal roll and the popcorn lobster and all was so fresh and delicious.. the tartar sauce all good! Seems that this place is run by a Korean family. This place offers fish and chips one side and maki/sushi rolls on the other menu. Sounds like a weird combination but I am happy that they have it cuz all was so good and fresh! (I was a little hesitate when I saw their fish display ) . They put almost a whole avocado on the popcorn lobster roll! Is like nowadays everywhere is so cheap on their avocados but not here! The owner/cashier was super nice. We will definitely coming back if we are in the area. read more
We recently ordered dinner from Tugboat Fish and Chips. It had been a while since I had eaten their food. I have always had positive experiences in the past. This time lived up to my expectations. Our meal consisted of * Cab Cake * Rainbow Role (Crabmeat, Avocado supported by a variety of Fish) * O.M.G. Role (Crabmeat, Tuna, Salmon, Albacore & Cucumber) * Clam Strips * Prawns Every think was good. I practically enjoyed the O.M.G. Roll. The food was well packaged for takeout. read more

Small family run Fish and Chips Restaurant in Lincoln, California. Friendly well run service, delicious fried fish and seafood. The fish was crispy and flavorful on the outside and moist, tender sweet fish on the inside. The oysters were very fresh tasting, could really taste the ocean in every bite. The clams were small, but very tasty. All in all we had a very pleasant, simple fish and seafood dinner. read more

Just had a nice lunch here. Staff was very friendly. We both had the lunch special which was only $11.99 and included a can of soda, your choice of lumpia or potstickers (we chose the potstickers and they were wonderful! Light and crispy!, 3 fried zucchini's and 3 fried onion rings and a long piece of fish on top of a full tray of French fries! If you eat it all, I guarantee you won't be hungry! We will go back to just order sushi as the photos looked great on their screen. read more

I've been wanting to try Tugboat for some time now. They are a small local chain and it has amazed me since most fish and chips places I know are coastal, and this hardly is near a coastline. The reviews are generally favorable, so worth a try! Ordering online was simple and easy and ready on arrival. We ordered two three piece meals with fries, and it comes with a couple of onion rings. Obviously, everything is fried. The batter and breading, however, is very well done and not all that greasy. As per the photo they apparently use a good grade of breading, but not their own. Consistency is good. The fish tasted fresh and delicious yet I agree with other reviewers that the pieces are far too thin for breaded fish and chips. I also couldn't decipher the type of fish- cod, tilapia or ? Some fish and chip establishments give you a choice of type of fish. It comes with containers of tartar sauce, yet bland. Luckily, I had my own with diced pickles and a bit of vinegar for more punch and taste. The fries, crinkle type, were big and substantive but are probably frozen and not that fresh in taste. The couple of onion rings were ok. It came with a side of cole slaw that was quite good, probably the highlight of the meal. The three piece meal is huge and I was more than full, probably more food than I needed for a meal. They serve sushi as well, but I personally would stick to fish and chips; just my thing, as I'd rather have sushi at an authentic Japanese restaurant. Overall, I'd go back but get a smaller meal. It isn't that bad, and 3.5 stars is probably most accurate. My better half was not as impressed. I was amused as a British reviewer here panned this place, and commented that it is nothing like the UK fish and chips places. Well, some of the most awful fish and chips I ever had was in the UK... see past reviews. It's all relative and personal, I guess. Final tip- the web price for the meal, $7.99 was much different than the actual in-store price, $11.99. read more
