Came here for a friends birthday dinner and it was delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is big and spacious with lots of seatings and a full bar inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was nice and funny. We ordered and shared family style.. we had the fish maw soup, honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, salt n pepper crab, ginger scallion lobster, Peking duck with buns, bbq pork chowmein, chicken wings and house fried rice Everything was delicious! My favorite was the Peking Duck and buns! Would Definately come back just for that!

I've been here several times for dinners. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of tables and a separate bar area, making it a great option for larger groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're dining with a big party, I recommend ordering double portions of certain dishes, such as the honey walnut prawns. The first time we ordered it, everyone only ended up with one shrimp each! One dish I always make sure to order is the Peking duck. It's not overly fatty, and it pairs perfectly with the buns and onions. The mango coconut cheesecake is also worth trying--it has coconut flakes mixed into the cheesecake, which adds a nice texture and flavor. Service is fast, and we've never had to wait long for our food. The service itself is pretty standard, but the staff are consistently friendly.

We had family style dinner. The food came out quick and was good. Servers were attentive. Standout dishes: calamari and noodle dishes

I realized I am long overdue for a review of this place. Red Lantern has become our go-to spot for date night dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is fantastic and honestly, the bar area and the main dining room both have great seating options.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tonight we had potstickers, honey walnut prawns and the spicy chicken wings. Everything was spot on and absolutely delicious. I usually always get a lychee martini (which is absolutely great), but I decided to mix it up tonight with a glass of Pinot Grigio, and my husband had a Stella. As always, we were super happy with the attentive service. The staff always make us feel welcome and the quality of the food is great. This is truly a great date spot that we will keep coming back to.

Red Lantern has been our go-to for some time when we visit Thunder Valley. We came again just before a concert at the Venue recently. It was really busy so we are glad we booked a table. Definitely book ahead, especially if there is an event. We like to share some appetizers and fried rice and we did the same as usual. Pot Stickers, Soup Dumplings, and the Yang Chao fried rice. The soup dumplings were definitely the best and our favorite of the night. The Yang Chao fried rice was good, a generous portion that tasted fresh and had lots of shrimp, but it did seem to be lacking somewhat in flavor. We used the chili sauce, and had to keep asking for more - finally the second time they brought us a bigger portion. The pot stickers were fine but probably our least favorite. We definitely left full and food was fine, but the service was not as attentive as usual and it wasn't as great an experience as we're used to. But still worth 4 stars for the consistency and the variety on the menu.

12/11/25- Came down a day early for my son's graduation.. Made reservations and luckily we were seated with a server who had waited on us long ago..(he even remembers our names).. Went with half a duck and the braised tofu and bok choy.. Sooo good when you missed breakfast and lunch! Glad we had a delicious meal!

Reservations for four via OpenTable. Fong was our server and did an amazing job tending to our table. The food arrived and did not disappoint. Great meal and cocktails.

Picked up the roast duck, Hainan chicken, and pork for a to-go order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nicer sit down restaurant inside the casino if you want an elevated meal vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You'll have to wait a while for seating as it's a popular spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Otherwise, great atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I attended the dinner to promote the gold bar whisky. I enjoyed all the drinks. My favorite was the lychee cocktail. The sashimi and scallop appetizer was so good. The main dish was just okay. The fried rice lacked flavor and only contained a small amount of eggs. The wagyu was overcooked. I enjoyed the flavor and the tenderness of the duck. Although, the sauce was just okay as it was quite sweet for my liking. The dessert was just okay as well as I do not prefer dense chocolate cakes. Overall, this was still a fun experience sampling the whisky mixed drinks.

This spot is located inside the Thunder Valley Casino. The wait was 20 mins for dinner. Service is quite swift and the food is above average.

Our favorite chinese restaurant when we come down from Reno. The food is excellent and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is spot on and prices are reasonable. Check it out.

The salt and pepper calamari was really lacking in flavor. Super bland. The mongolian beef had a good tender texture and flavor. Rice is an additional $4. Overall it's just so so

Not knowing how busy the restaurants would be 2 hours before a concert we were lucky to even grab a spot at the bar at Red Lantern (we had to wait 30 mins stalking the bar in wait). While we waited, however we met a lot of other concert goers all in a fantastic mood as we were all ready to see a fantastic R&B concert. The ambience inside is really spectacular. And let me tell you those bartenders know how to pour a drink way better than inside of the casino I'll tell you that. The bartenders were efficient and nice. There wasn't a lot on the vegetarian menu, but we did enjoy some tasty tofu and vegetables with rice.

I also ordered a taco salad to go. The salad was to have no beans. We sat and waited for our meal. When they came, the fried beans were bone cold. I took the whole plate up to the front counter and explained that the beans were cold. Everyone behind the counter just stood and looked at the plate. One man said, "cold?" I said, "Yes, cold". I couldn't understand what he didn't understand. He spoke fluent English. Everyone was still just standing and looking lost. The young man turned slightly and pointed while saying, "They came out of there". Where he was pointing, I had no idea. I said, "Wherever they came from, they're cold". By this time, I'm through with the game, I turn and walk away with the plate, sit down at the table and scrape the beans to the side. A person comes and sets a small bowl of beans on the table. They weren't much better. Garbage! Next ..... I've never had white mushy rice with Mexican food. I pushed that to the side. It was awful! We decided to pack it up and leave. Next ... The taco salad had almost a cup of black on the bottom. The bottom of the shell was saturated. Don't they know, a salad should have lettuce. There was enough lettuce for 3 burgers. I'm talking McDonald's type of burgers, so you know it wasn't much. Maybe a cup at most, and it was shredded so, it was sprinkled over the top of the beans and covered with at least a cup of cheese. There was a few chopped olives and tomatoes. The meat was old, dry and tasteless . What a tragedy! I even went and spoke with some casino employees. They said it wasn't a good place to eat. I should have investigated before hand. **The best thing about the meal......It was over quickly!

It's a good thing that we bought a side of broccolini. I can't really say much about the Filet Mignon. With a price tag of $78, it was not worth it. My lobster corn chowder tasted nothing like corn or chowder....just bacon flavor overpowering the taste..and it would have been nice to have actual lobster in it. The meatballs were served with a polenta "sauce.." not really a polenta. While tasty, I would think for $20, the meatballs would be served warm. Not a good start .. Then, the steaks and sides. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly....but perhaps some seasoning next time? I essentially used the gorgonzola mashed potatoes as a "sauce." Kind of "scammy" to have flavorless steaks, and then charge $10-$20 for various steak sauce and toppings. Lastly, the creamed spinach. Again, man...some seasoning would be amazing. Spinach mixed with cream....and "liquid" cream (lack of presentation?) was not worth $20. The server was good and attentive, so props to her. Why a 2? If I'm going to spend $280, it needs to taste better then someone getting yelled at by Ramsay on a Hells Kitchen episode. Would NOT recommend for a special occasion....until they get the basics right to warrant them charging that much.

It's a very modern, small restaurant, and the bar seating is definitely the focal point of the space, though the overall vibe felt a little cold with minimal decoration. I'd love to come back to try their full omakase experience eventually, but the service was a real letdown. Even though we were the only two people in the restaurant most of the time, we felt like an inconvenience. At one point, I said out loud that we were ready to order; the staff including our waitress stopped for a second, looked at us, and then just went back to what they were doing without acknowledging us. It was as if we were on her time, and she was making it clear that she would get to us when she felt like it, not when we were ready. The wait for food was also way too long. Despite being the only ones there, I waited about 40 minutes for my ceviche mixto bowl ($22). For a raw dish that requires no actual cooking, that kind of delay in such a small space is hard to justify. We also had the broiled oysters ($15) and oyster shooters ($5), which were solid. I noticed the drink menu didn't have many sweet cocktail options, so I asked if they could make me a lemon drop instead; and they granted the request. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The food and drinks are great, but the service and kitchen speed really need to be more attentive to match the quality of the menu.

The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. Between the food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail, this is easily one of the top restaurants I've been to in Sacramento. Definitely worth a visit.

When we arrived on a Monday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, so we expected attentive service. We were seated, our server came over for drinks, and we let him know we were celebrating my aunt's birthday. This restaurant usually has a nice way of acknowledging birthdays, so we were looking forward to that, but it never happened. We ordered the lobster bites, and they were outstanding as always. My mom, who is allergic to seafood, started feeling a little nauseous from the smell and asked our server for some lemons. He walked away, and we never saw him again. After waiting for quite a while, we asked another server, who brought them over immediately. Our salads and soup were delivered by a food runner, and once again, our server was nowhere to be found. I eventually had to flag down the manager just to have our appetizer and soup plates cleared from the table. Our entrees arrived, the server asked how everything was, and then disappeared again. The next time we saw him was when he dropped off the check. What made it even more frustrating was watching him repeatedly check on, laugh with, and chat with the table behind us while barely acknowledging ours. We completely understand that restaurants get busy and servers can get overwhelmed, but that didn't seem to be the case here. For a $300 dinner for four people at an upscale restaurant, I expected a much higher level of service. The manager did remove our desserts from the bill, and I appreciate that gesture, but I honestly felt more should have been done once it was clear how neglected our table had been. The biggest disappointment is that the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was delicious, which made the lack of service stand out even more. This has always been one of my favorite locations, so I truly hope this was just an off night. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and didn't reflect the level of service I've come to expect from this restaurant.

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. The only small thing I would suggest is having more napkins at the table, since we were only given one per plate and ended up needing a few more during the meal. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. Overall, we had a great experience at Azayaka Japanese Fusion. The food was delicious, the service was warm, and we would definitely come back to try more dishes.

First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.
