I realized I am long overdue for a review of this place. Red Lantern has become our go-to spot for date night dinner. The atmosphere is fantastic and honestly, the bar area and the main dining room both have great seating options. Tonight we had potstickers, honey walnut prawns and the spicy chicken wings. Everything was spot on and absolutely delicious. I usually always get a lychee martini (which is absolutely great), but I decided to mix it up tonight with a glass of Pinot Grigio, and my husband had a Stella. As always, we were super happy with the attentive service. The staff always make us feel welcome and the quality of the food is great. Red Lantern has been our go-to for some time when we visit Thunder Valley. We came again just before a concert at the Venue recently. It was really busy so we are glad we booked a table. Definitely book ahead, especially if there is an event. We like to share some appetizers and fried rice and we did the same as usual. Pot Stickers, Soup Dumplings, and the Yang Chao fried rice. The soup dumplings were definitely the best and our favorite of the night. The Yang Chao fried rice was good, a generous portion that tasted fresh and had lots of shrimp, but it did seem to be lacking somewhat in flavor. We used the chili sauce, and had to keep asking for more - finally the second time they brought us a bigger portion. The pot stickers were fine but probably our least favorite. We definitely left full and food was fine, but the service was not as attentive as usual and it wasn't as great an experience as we're used to. But still worth 4 stars for the consistency and the variety on the menu. read more

I attended the dinner to promote the gold bar whisky. I enjoyed all the drinks. My favorite was the lychee cocktail. The sashimi and scallop appetizer was so good. The main dish was just okay. The fried rice lacked flavor and only contained a small amount of eggs. The wagyu was overcooked. I enjoyed the flavor and the tenderness of the duck. Although, the sauce was just okay as it was quite sweet for my liking. The dessert was just okay as well as I do not prefer dense chocolate cakes. Not knowing how busy the restaurants would be 2 hours before a concert we were lucky to even grab a spot at the bar at Red Lantern (we had to wait 30 mins stalking the bar in wait). While we waited, however we met a lot of other concert goers all in a fantastic mood as we were all ready to see a fantastic R&B concert. The ambience inside is really spectacular. And let me tell you those bartenders know how to pour a drink way better than inside of the casino I'll tell you that. The bartenders were efficient and nice. Service was fast and friendly but didn't explain the menu and we had to ask questions like what the soup of the day was, how to order, etc. we ordered appetizers of chicken wings and then most of our group of 6 ordered the $35 pp option where you get 1 egg roll, 1 potsticker, an entree and pudding dessert ... the appetizers were good, the soup was soup of the day - a sour soup that was just okay - I would have preferred a different soup not so spicy. Extremely Disappointed - First Bad Experience After Years of Visits My wife and I stay at Thunder Valley quite often, and our first stop is always Red Lantern. The food has consistently been on point, and the service has always matched--until now. Unfortunately, the streak of excellent customer service has officially ended. I absolutely cannot stand when a manager or supervisor lies about the status of an order, and that's exactly what happened. I placed my to-go order at 4:18 PM on 11/27/25, Ticket #15700643. It was a simple order--our usual favorites: Hot & Spicy Mongolian Beef 2 Trios Shrimp Fried Rice Broccoli & Chicken Walnut Prawns Chow Mein Spicy Orange Chicken After 40 minutes, I asked about my order. The woman dressed in black told me, "We have a lot of orders ahead of you, it should be out soon." I even asked her to verify the two to-go bags sitting on the counter. She checked and said neither was mine. She went to the back, came back out, and repeated, "It will be out soon." For the record, those were the only two to-go orders during my entire wait. No other bags came out. No other customers waiting. Another 15 minutes passed before Yi--the person who took my order--asked if I had a large order. I told her it was the standard, and she went to the back to check. She returned saying, "They're just finishing up your Orange Chicken." Really? After almost an hour? When I finally received the food and made the long walk back across the hotel to my room--where hungry family was waiting--the Trios were ice cold. Clearly, they were made first and then left sitting while the rest of the order was forgotten. As we started eating, you could literally feel the temperature progression from cold to warm to piping hot. The Orange Chicken was blazing hot because it was clearly the last thing rushed out. When you spend around $200 on a meal, you expect quality and professionalism--not excuses, not lies, and definitely not food that's been sitting out for who knows how long. This isn't Panda Express. But honestly, based on today's service, Panda would've been the better choice. We won't be returning to Red Lantern. If this is how they're operating now, it's a sign things are going downhill. The part that still blows my mind? They lied to my face. WTF. read more

We came here with a party of 5 before a concert at The Venue. I called before hand to make a quick reservation the lady was really nice over the phone . I do appreciate that she made me a late reservation with such short notice . As soon as we arrived, we got seated right away. I think we got the best seats in the house. We had a table with the rotating thing in the middle. Super convenient for sharing. There is a beautiful water fountain to your right when you first walk in . The bar Area is also on your right side. I was pretty amazed of how big the inside was . We ordered some drinks and then for Appetizers we got the Potstickers, Wings, Vegetable Egg-Rolls, and the Wonton Soup. For the Wonton soup the waiter served everyone they were all so attentive they would pick up any dish that was empty right away to give us room for of our meals that were coming up. Then we ordered more food to share which was BBQ Pork, General Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Fried Rice everything was so delicious ! This place was a 10/10. When I first made the reservations, I was kind of worried because on Yelp they were rated I believe a 3star rating , which got me kind of worried but I had heard really good things about this place and sure enough it was really good . The food would come out fresh and hot . The service was above and beyond super nice and very attentive. We went to the concert the lady got us cups to go for our adults drinks and she bagged our food . Overall this place was a great and convenient dinner location. We had a great night with family . A friend and I stopped in for a last minute dinner before enjoying the Penn and Teller 50th Anniversary tour at the Venue which is also located at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Parking was a bit challenging to find on a busy summer Saturday night visit. We were seated promptly as promised. Numerous employees walked by with zero communication for over 10 minutes. It was to the point we were debating leaving for a food court restaurant to ensure we would arrive at the show on time. Our server finally made an appearance and we placed our orders. Chicken fried rice and Kung Pao chicken for me and sweet and sour chicken for my friend. The food came out fairly quickly thereafter. The chicken fried rice was a bit bland for my taste. I regrettably went for another spoonful before we left only to find a large hunk of chicken bone. I mentioned it to our server out of concern and courtesy without asking for anything in return. They could've cared less and it put a damper in an already mediocre at best experience. The Kung Pao chicken was medium spicy as requested and was the star of the meal. It had good flavor and was pretty well executed. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty solid as well. Nice crunchy pieces of chicken adorned with the sweet and sour sauce, bell peppers, and onions. A hint of spice would've elevated this further. The lack of awareness, customer service, empathy, and poor service overall makes this a no for me to revisit. The execution isn't there from start to finish. It's a nice looking restaurant but it's not for me. There's better Chinese restaurants in the area that are far more accessible and cheaper with much better service. read more

We had a reservation for 6:15 before a concert. We were promptly seated when we arrived. For 4 adults we ordered the calamari appetizer, bbq pork fried rice, beef w/broccoli, and honey walnut shrimp. Everything was delicious. Hands down the best (americanized, but they have "authentic items too) Chinese food we've had. So flavorful, and the shrimp was crispy on the outside and tender inside. Food came quickly and we finished our meal by 7:00. Portion size was perfect for us. We were absolutely stuffed and had no leftovers (if we didn't have a concert to get to, we would've had some leftovers). Our bill came to just under $100 before tip. Restaurant is located right near the entrance to The Venue so this was a great place for a pre-show meal. Service was perfect for us, meaning once our food was delivered, we had no other interaction with our waitress other than the check but our drinks were checked and refilled without us asking. The only negative thing I have about this restaurant is that there isn't a "front door" so all the cigarette smoke from the casino wafts in. Even though we were sitting in the back, the smell was still very noticeable and my friend got a headache from it in the short time we were there. Next time, I would request to sit as far from the entrance as possible. An observation: despite the restaurant's name, there were no red lantern decorations to be found, haha! read more

It was my first time coming here with my family for my dad's birthday. We did a la carte/ family style and it was good for the most part. It just tasted a bit salty for most of the dishes like the calamari, and the chicken dishes. We ordered a lot of food (we were hungry and didn't get to take photos of all of them) and we had a party of 13 (including baby :-) ). And my favorite dish was probably the tofu/bok choy dish. And I recommend that along with the rice, fish and chow mein. I wish they had more vegetable dishes and less oily ones. I also wish they had the spicy mustard/chili oil and a sauce for the calamari. The service was great (which got this review at 4 stars) and the servers were attentive. The ambiance and restaurant appeared to be clean and bright. Don't waste your time and money. Four of us dined there on a Friday night before a show. Thankfully we had a reservation as the place was packed. The restaurant is open to the gaming area (of course) and reeks of cigarette smoke and is incredibly loud. Service was terrible. Apps arrived but drinks came after and then we discovered the wrong wine was delivered. Took forever to get that corrected. Meanwhile our server returned every 5 minutes to ask us to order our mains. It's a good thing that we had reservations, because apparently the nicer restaurants don't really take walk-ins when they have events going on. We ordered drinks and dumplings to start our meal. I ordered a restaurant, special called the red dragon. Based on the description it sounded like it was going to be tasty, a little, sweet, and right up my alley. I had asked for super light ice and a drink, when the drink arrived, the glass was filled with ice. The drink itself was mediocre at best , and it was obvious that the bartender doesn't know how to make a mixed drink. The flavors were completely off, and the drink overall was not great. Service at this point had been challenging. When we were first seated, the waitress came over and asked us what we wanted to order for dinner. We haven't even opened a menu or decided what we were going to have. When we order drinks and appetizers she wanted a dinner order at the same time. We both politely told her that we wanted to wait until we had drinks and appetizers and we still need to decide on dinner. She seemed incredibly displeased with that. The dumplings were also very mediocre. They were gummy and the filling lacked flavor and seasoning. The dipping sauce was rather odd. It wasn't a soy sauce, it wasn't anything that enhanced the dumplings, and it just seemed very miss placed. We ordered the sizzling beef, tenderloin and fried rice to share. The serving sizes are incredibly generous, and definitely shareable for more than just two people. The rice was absolutely incredible. It's probably the best fried rice I've had in a very long time. It wasn't Granier dry, it was moist, and filled with flavor, and all the goodies that you would want in fried rice. Hats off to the chef that made the rice. That was the best part of the meal. The sizzling beef was really tasty. The meat was tender, but it should've been served in smaller more edible sized pieces. The vegetables that were made with it were on the raw side, and raw asparagus is not our jam. It would've been nice to have the meal or the drinks fixed, but the waitress made herself scarce and didn't bother to come over and check on us after the food was brought to the table. It was pretty much like she could not be bothered. It wasn't a busy day, went right at opening and seated promptly with only three other tables occupied. Would not recommend the honey walnut prawns, did not have flavor. Surprisingly the fried calamari was flavorful after reading other reviews. Inconsistently though the Singaporean rice noodles were heavily salted and over cooked on some parts and other parts no spices. Also, not including rice with a $20 entree is insane.
