    Caramel Apple Oolong Chai

I haven't heard much about this spot but finally stopped by over the weekend for their K-Pop Demon Hunters popup...I guess I'll drive 45 mins for anything K-Pop Demon Hunters! Loved all the cute vendors and the large cardboard cutouts for photo ops! I ordered the caramel apple oolong chai which sounded super interesting! It was kinda watery though and the sweet cream just separated from the drink pretty quickly. Maybe I ordered the wrong drink but hope to give them another shot soon.

Senpai's cafe is still a favorite boba spot to visit! We always love coming in and seeing the different anime posters, and figures. We love that they now offer food like rice bowls and fries. Some even have cute anime names. They also have events on their white board like tasting event. Service is always amazing and friendly!

Most consistent boba you will ever find in this area! All of their items are the same top-notch quality no matter when you go. Customer service is superb. Very calm and friendly inviting environment. 10/10 recommend!

Loved it here!!! The decor was amazing. They had anime scnese, manga, and more everywhere I looked. The service was fast even though there was only one person. Lastly, the boba was delicious and chewy ans the flavor of the tea was perfect!

This is a cute tea place lightly covered with anime. I got the butterfly pea powder lychee star boba lemonade and made it less sweet. It was very good, beautiful drink and tasted perfect! My friend got the regular milk tea with boba and less sweet. The milk tea was pretty light not a very strong milk tea flavor but the boba were really good with an easy and nice chew to them. The strawberry dragon fruit cake had a nice texture but had a slight perfume taste to it but not unpleasant. The staff were very quick and one of the girls brought my drinks to where I was sitting g which wa super nice of her and not expected.

In a nutshell; good place to chill, have a mini anime-esque experience as the establishment draws inspiration from anime befitting of its name. Also the iconic initial d car is parked out front. Pretty decent boba, the place has a number of seats and tables to hang out or chill at. There are tables that have manga panels in them which was neat. Parking isn't an issue at all. The wait didn't take long at all and ordering was pretty simple with the kiosks by the counter. Overall boba's neat. Hope they provide good snacks in the future.

Senpai's Cafe (what you call upper classmen or workers that are in the company longer than you), which seems to have opened earlier this year from what I have observed, is not an easy place to grade. Why? I can't be too lenient because not only have I tried way too many boba places to have an idea of knowing what's good. Sacramento once upon a time had a Japan Town, and the expectation of precision sticks in the city and its surrounding suburbs, including Roseville. I can't be too ruthless either because the place does try hard, and to be honest, of all of the boba places I've been to, this is probably the most fun one I've been to. Let's start with the good. If you don't know, this place is an anime/manga/light novel theme boba spot. Combing these things together is brilliant. You see various series, and you not only see an anime. You also see a part of the spot with a classroom setting. The (cute) staff member there was helpful for parts one of my brothers and I were stuck on, and we did get a real good recommendation in the honeydew slush. There are also ice cream mochi and a few other snacks. What's interesting though is that not only is there a cherry blossom boba. There's also a sour blue raspberry boba. Can't forget the crane game. I do need to place in a personal strength. There are multiple Koudansha series represented. You see "Gotoubun no Hanayome" ("The Five Equal Brides"/"Quintessential Quintuplets"), and "Sailor Moon" along w/ "Initial D". Ha ha ha! The bad. Right off the bat, I notice the lack of a sign in both kanji and katakana or kanji and hiragana if the full Japanese name is used, which is "Senpai no Kissaten/先輩の喫茶店". There needs to be one to get attention. I still hate places with kiosks only because you not only deal with a lack of sanitizers. You don't get that proper control of a drink. I'm starting to think that this will be the normal layout of boba places if this isn't the case by now. While I'm on the subject of drinks, though you have you have boba drinks, you don't happen to have Japanese ones. My brother told me to type in a lack of popcorn chicken, and what he said is true. There is a lack of popcorn chicken. Oh. There is a point system. While you can give a friend an item once you hit 10 points by spending $50, it's a funky system. It seems that it acts like Boudin's free bread loaf system, though it's supposed to not be like that. Senpai's Cafe is a solid good boba spot despite not being in business for a year. While it does feel like fun place to be because of its cute theme and its yummy food and drinks, it is missing critical elements to get a perfect score such as Japanese drinks. Roseville, help the place out for me because the next time I'll try to be here will most likely be an early Kings game. +: Senpai's Cafe is cute and solid good becuse of the marriage of two noteworthy items being both good along with items I don't see in a boba spot or Japanese cafe. -: Critical flaws like the lack of Japanese drinks and certain boba foods are there that prevent the score from being perfect.

Anime Cafe [Roseville CA] If you love anime and manga then you will enjoy this anime-themed cafe. It's a first of its kind in Roseville and the interior has a fun atmosphere. My daughter asked me to take her here even though she knows how to drive and could've made it here by herself plus it's only 2.7 miles away from our home... I think she knows I'd enjoy this place and it was indeed pretty cool and fun. We placed our orders at one of the two kiosk stands. I ordered the Butterfly Lemonade w/ boba and I can't remember what drink my daughter had. They sold Japanese snacks also where I chose a Panda Cake. The walls are decorated with life-size decals. Sit, relax and enjoy an anime series from their flatscreen or browse through a collection of manga books from their library while sitting in one of the two authentic school desks with book compartment. Plenty of seating including couches and a side bar seating. Cool ambiance that anime fans would enjoy. Review #3401

    HAIKYUU Cupsleeve Event

This was our first time at Senpai's Cafe and the HAIKYUU Cupsleeve Event brought us in. Located on the corner of Pleasant Grove & Foothills in Roseville. Super easy to find and tons of parking! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The place is decorated with anime and lots of picture worthy walls. There's tons of seating (tables, bar stools and couches). You order on one of the 2 kiosks which was super easy! We ordered the Karasuno: Thai Tea, milk of your choice & Black charcoal paste with Boba, which came with a Cupsleeve and 2 cute stickers. We also ordered the Itadori Strawberry Lemonade with clear boba. Both drinks were absolutely delish!!!! We can't wait to go back and try a few different drinks!

First time this year (2024) previously went in Dec 31st 2023! I noticed last time I was in but forgot to mention, there wasn't an option for ice level, but I was able to type it in the notes that I preferred less ice than usual. I was greeted when I came in, and went straight to the menu to order. There were a couple other people in there, so I'm glad word is getting out! Anime was on, something that was playing differently from last time. It is subbed, jsyk! The menu also looks a bit different from last time, so I'm glad the input from others is being recognized! Excited for my classic milk tea!!

Our server greeted us right away and was very sweet and attentive. You could tell she was still in training, but everything went smoothly. The only small thing I would suggest is having more napkins at the table, since we were only given one per plate and ended up needing a few more during the meal. We had originally reserved a tatami table, but quickly realized it wasn't the best fit for our group since we had some older people with knee pain. Just a heads up, the tatami seating does not have recessed flooring. Luckily, we were able to adjust to a regular table. Once we were settled, we looked through the menu and ordered a double toro roll, a wagyu roll, and a dinner bento with unagi-don. Happy to report everything we ordered was delicious! The double toro was very fresh and refreshing, and the wagyu roll had a rich, savory flavor that reminded us of a yummy steak. We enjoyed every bite. I was especially impressed with my bento box. The presentation was beautiful and the portions were very generous. The bento came with steamed egg, a fresh garden salad, assorted tempura, and unagi-don. Everything in the box tasted great. The tempura was light and crispy, and the unagi was savory and satisfying with egg ribbons in the rice. I think it might be one of the best bento boxes I've had in a long time. Overall, we had a great experience at Azayaka Japanese Fusion. The food was delicious, the service was warm, and we would definitely come back to try more dishes.

First, I want to say the chef was younger, but he put alot of care and effort into each dish, so he should definitely be acknowledged. However, as soon as we walked in, there was no greeting from both of the female servers, only cold stares. Many servers do not give great service to younger tables and assume they won't tip. This occurred throughout our dining experience and we didn't feel welcomed at all. Our table also wasn't the biggest and there was no pre-bussing done to clear our dining space. Also, as a recent graduate, I brought my cap to receive a $15 gift card for their promotion. Instead, she gave a "neighborhood" discount (10% off which made it $10 off). I didn't mention anything since I did not feel like coming back to this location. Then I looked at the receipt, wrote a 20% tip, but this was where I felt scammed. It's difficult to explain and I wish I took a picture, but please check your math on the suggested tip. Total with discount: $98 Previous Total: $108 Suggested Tip: 20% = $20 and Suggested Total: $128 I don't mind tipping $20, but the suggested total would include a $30 tip? I don't know if it's intentional and the server wanted to pocket the discount as her tip, but it did not feel fair. We had two younger kids with us and I didn't want them to notice, so we just left after paying. We been to the Sacramento location many times, but their Roseville location was disappointing. Horrible service.

I, honestly, think the sushi and sashimi are better than Kru. The fish is so tender, buttery, and will melt in your mouth. The appetizers and rolls are SUPER yummy, with good flavor combinations. And the sushi chefs, servers, and staff are friendly and professional. They really know their fish, and are happy to explain the different cuts to you. They treat their customers well, and as a result, it is obvious that they get a lot of regulars. The one down side is that they don't take reservations, and depending on the day, it can be a long wait to be seated. So, I recommend that you don't come starving. But they are good about taking down your phone number and calling you when a table is ready. When it is a long wait, we usually go to the brewery across the street to hang out, and that works well for us. The ambiance is casual, so if you are looking for a fancy dining experience, this might not be the place for you. But the food is first rate! I highly recommend!
