Needing a Vietnamese coffee, I Yelped what was in the area and saw that I had Boba Lane bookmarked. It's a little hidden behind the oil change biz, in an unassuming strip mall. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Nice and polite older Filipino staff/owners. The place was empty on a Sunday afternoon, with a couple customers coming in for to go orders. I first noticed the mini foosball table and saw another mini video arcade game, along with a few other table games. The place was clean and spotless (restroom also), with wooden tables and chairs. There was a cute photo background on the back wall. I took a few minutes to look over the menu and decided on the iced Vietnamese coffee for my husband and the "Caffeine Collision" (Thai tea and Viet coffee collab) for myself. Our drinks were ready quickly, and we decided to sit and sip for a few minutes before making our way back home. I loved my drink. I had done that same mix at a Thai restaurant Yelp event where they had set up a drink bar, so I knew it would be good. I have a feeling that this is a family business. The drinks were really good. I didn't get anything exciting - just my usual fruit tea. My son got the Halo Halo and it was delicious. It had ube ice cream, some sort of jelly, coconut flakes, and fruit on the bottom. It's like a meal in a cup. I was shocked that he can finish it. He said it was the best Halo Halo he ever had. We stopped here last night for a treat after a long day of volleyball. I had the avocado smoothie with sea salt cream, it was delicious. No food served at the time of this review but their drinks definitely will satiate your boba cravings. Service here is outstanding!! This boba spot is Filipino owned. The owners are the ones running the place and both are there both times we have been. They are so sweet and welcoming and even let us bring our dog. They have yummy boba drinks, even have some available in hot if you want. And of course they have halo-halo. This is a fun hangout spot, they have lots of board games, a basketball and foosball table. The inside is extremely clean which I can appreciate. And they have lots of cute decor. Cute place. Located in same shopping center as Celestino's, Chang Bros and Edible Arrangements, behind SAFE Credit Union. Nice employees. Lots of fun games and activities for kids and teens including a basketball hoop thingie, board games, Pacman arcade game, etc. Lots of interesting menu items, especially the specialty drinks. Pricing was higher than usual, but it's Rocklin. Our 4 drinks were disappointing. Presentation was great but taste was meh. My brother's matcha drink was powdery and gritty. My tiger milk tea was just ok. Boba was mushy. The Four Seasons Square was interesting with orange, guava, pineapple and mango juice was decent. We decided it's a great place for teenagers and people who don't really care about tea and quality/taste of boba. But for those of us who like fresh brewed teas and good boba, this was not up to our taste. I'm sure they'll have tons of business from young crowds though. Oh gosh this is a hard one to review because the service was great and they seemed very pleased to greet you and have you as a customer. However the drinks were not good. The Yelp ratings tricked us. The staff were very friendly and we did not feel rushed to place our order because all their specialty drinks look good and we just can't decide. Another new boba shop in rocklin to try out. They have some more specialty / fancy flavoring options. I think the prices are a bit high for the area and the drinks were just ok. The drinks were extremely sweet, so I would recommend less sugar if you're sensitive to that. They also tasted extremely sweet and milky, so it was hard to even really pick the flavors out. Generally, this is not the kind of boba I enjoy. The service was also a bit slow when we came. The ambience is really cute, but the seating and tables are pretty uncomfortable to sit at. Its not a place I'd really go hang out. They did have some games for costumers to grab, but again too uncomfortable to enjoy. Not terrible but not amazing either. Stumbled upon this place after having dinner next door and later realized I had it bookmarked all along! We were greeted by the nicest workers when we came in. They were patient with our big group as we decided on our drinks. When our order was ready, they brought it out in the cute little carrier to hand deliver them to our table! The interior is very cute too with a photo op in the back with giant boba pillows. They have lots of games and some arcade video games too which kept the kids busy. I loved my wintermelon slush! I've never had it in slush form but it was perfect because it was just like an iced tea but no wasted space on ice cubes. The flavor was delicious too. The caffeine collision was a mix of Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea so we saved it for our morning caffeine and it was delicious! You could taste the Thai tea but also got the bitterness of the Vietnamese coffee. I wish they were closer to home so I could order that more often! They are not able to modify the sweetness since they use syrup in for their flavoring, not real fruit!! It was incredibly sweet and quite bad.
