Bubble University doesn't miss. Every drink tastes like they actually care about what they're making (rare, honestly), and somehow they nail it every single time. The staff is just as great --friendly, quick, and never making you feel like you're an inconvenience for wanting extra boba like a normal person. The ambiance is so cute too! The wizard theme? I love it! It's like Harry Potter decided to open a boba shop--magical vibes, cozy atmosphere, and drinks that feel like they were brewed with actual spells. read more

This is my go-to boba spot in Rocklin and it has never disappointed! Located in a big shopping plaza the parking is very easy and there is some seats outside and some inside but not very many. I've only ordered at the kiosk so I'm not sure if you are able to walk up. I love the taro milk tea here and it pairs super well with the sea salt cream! All their milk teas are 10/10 I also love the brown sugar milk tea. I tried the mango green tea today and if you're a fan of mango it's a must try and I loved it with the mango popping boba. The service is pretty limited since we always order at the kiosk. But today my cousin did not like one of her drinks and the worker was very nice and switched it out for her which I really appreciated. read more

Yummy drinks and Snacks! [Rocklin CA] Been here a few times now since my last review of almost 1-1/2 years ago. They offer customizable options for sweetness, ice, milk, and boba types. My favorite are the fruit drinks. The golden boba has that sweet honey molasses taste and always good consistency. The staff is friendly and efficient. Bubble U have started using organic ingredients which is a good thing and a more healthy option. There will still be non-dairy options like oat milk and almond milk that are lactose intolerant for those who don't drink milk. They have claw machines to challenge yourself while waiting for your drink to be made. I've not looked lately but did someone just win that big Cinnamorol??!! Congrats to that winner! We just got two Boba drinks at Bubble University Rocklin. When they first opened they were excellent quality and every order was always correct. I started ordering Thai Tea with Vanilla Ice Cream without Boba. It was a nice occasional treat. The computerized ordering system seemed foolproof. Well, fast forward until today. BOTH of drinks looked correct after receiving them BUT they were BOTH WRONG. How does this happen with a computerized order system? Mine had boba that I didnt want and NO Vanilla Ice Cream. I will think twice about visiting this location again. read more

This place feels like a hidden gem. Everything is delicious! Rebecca is the sweetest, friendly, welcoming as she made the delicious drinks, and was patient with me as I was deciding. She had great suggestions and input, and I'm so glad I tried her recommendation. Shoutout to Rebecca for the delightful welcoming experience. My favorite is the melon cream delight made with fresh fruits and homemade cantaloupe whipped cream topping too. This drink was heavenly. I can't wait to be back! read more

This is my favorite boba spot in the area. I have at least 26 yrs of boba consuming expertise under my belt. My go to order is a jasmine milk tea with boba. And my son loves his Oreo shake. Bonus points for this location because Rebecca is warm and friendly whenever we are lucky enough to catch her there. Ayvah is also warm and friendly too. I am over the moon happy to patron a business that has great drinks and great customer service to represent their business. Thank you ladies! Where a degree in incompetence is required: We've ordered from here 5 times... as we wanted to give it a fair try. Needless to say once again they are "missing" the mark. Previously we've had ingredients missing. This time in particular they managed to not put coffee jelly in two of the drinks, didn't put brown sugar crystals and instead was given honey boba and, no straws for BOBA DRINKS? Luckily we had some spare straws but not boba width. Now to be fair it wasn't written down for them through door dash or anything...jk it was, but you know instructions are hard. All in all it's time to head back to literature class for this monster of a university. read more

I have tried their Roseville location a few times and was never a fan of their drinks. But I decided to give them another shot at this new Rocklin location. I ordered 3 drinks and the only solid one was their brown milk tea. Even then, their boba was definitely undercooked and hard. I did like the store being clean and the customer service was good. read more

I thought I would try this place because I was craving boba. I got the brown sugar milk tea and it was overloaded with milk that it just tasted like iced milk. Gross! I also got the Thai tea and how can you mess up Thai tea? Well they did and it was gross also! The wait was 15 min for 2 drinks. Go to Boba Lane right down the street. They have much better drinks!! read more

They removed the free boba option from the brown sugar drink. Complete tragedy, I felt like I was drop-kicked by a 1700kg cow (that one cow in Tuscany Italy that broke the world record). It went well; business as usual. This time there was only one guy working there but he was overall chill. Ambience was quiet. The drinks were good, I'm glad the 25% sweetness this time wasn't overly sweet. read more

I think this may end up being my favorite boba tea restaurant in the area, but I should go a few more times. Bubble University is located in the Safeway plaza on the corner of Sunset Blvd and Park Dr in Rocklin. Easy parking. Restaurant closes relatively early at 7 pm according Yelp hours edited in 10/2022 (or 7:30 pm according to my 7/2022 photo and Google). I went near closing time, so the restaurant was out of black pearl boba. I ordered Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Golden Boba, which was delicious. I could taste the tea flavor. The pretty yellow-colored boba was yummy and chewy. I think I ordered 50% sweetness. Here are the boba descriptions: - Golden Boba: Chewier, Bigger, and Black Sugar Flavored - Pearl Boba: Medium Sized and Honey Flavored Drink comes in a cup and a lid made of a sturdier, thicker plastic. I poked the straw into the lid, which caused a piece of plastic to go into the cup. I would recommend pulling off the straw opening by hand, instead of poking it inside the cup. I did compare the size of the straw opening plastic piece and the straw. The straw opening plastic piece is bigger in width than the straw, so I don't think you can slurp hard enough to force and bend the thick plastic piece into the straw. However, just to err on the side of caution, I'd take the time to pull it off and throw it away. Because the straw opening plastic piece is roundish in shape, it is easily mistaken as the shadow of a boba. For the future, I'd be interested in trying these drinks: - Iron Goddess Oolong - Matcha Milk Tea - Taro Milk Tea - Brown Sugar Milk Tea - Honey Milk Tea - Burn Burn Tea Latte - Taro Smoothie - Coconut Pineapple Smoothie - Strawberry Matcha - Taro Blush I'm happy that the bubble tea restaurant that I'm most impressed with is closest in distance to me. Walked in on May 7th of 2025. 1st impression, I noticed small claw machines, thats cute... touch screen order screen... PERFECT!! The person working greeted us upon entering & she asked if we has any questions while we got acquainted with the touch screen order screens. Thankfully it wasn't too difficult to navigate & i was able to find everything i needed. I ordered a matcha smoothie w/25% sweetness, w/almond milk & pudding. My daughter ordered strawberry matcha w/oatmilk, 25% sweetness w/ice cream topped off. It was really good that mine tasted very bland with just the crushed ice flavor that I decided to trade it to remake with it the way my daughter's had hers made, minus the vanilla ice cream. I wished they had non-dairy ice cream but its not available. The matcha & strawberries was better in milk tea form & more flavor to taste! Strawberries already make it sweet thats why I put it at 25% sweetness. Overall its not bad to try & i wouldn't mind returning read more

The service and store are great but the drink execution was lacking. We got three drinks and 2 of three were undrinkable. The match was extremely clumpy and the mango fruit tea was super sour and bitter. read more

I ordered 3 smoothies and a flavored tea, for a scheduled pick up of 3:15. I placed the order at 2:44pm, then got a text at 2:50pm stating my order was ready? Weird.. but ok. Got to the spot at 3:05, and there were my drinks. Sitting on the counter, not even in the fridge. They'd been sitting there from 2:44-3:05, ridiculous. Drinks were melted. My tea had like 3 pieces of melted ice in it, when I asked for "regular ice." So annoying considering I paid $30+ for 4 drinks. Not wasting my time driving to this location again. read more

I've been craving boba lately and decided to try the closest shop. My first visit was about a week ago; I ordered the Thai milk boba. It was okay but had a slightly chemical taste. Yesterday, I walked in again, and since I was the only customer, I thought ordering would be easy. However, the cashier insisted I use the self-kiosk to place my order. I just wanted a regular Thai milk boba and asked if he could take my order directly, but he refused. After struggling with the kiosk, I finally placed my order. When I got my drink, the cup wasn't filled to the top and still had that off taste. Between the poor customer service and the chemical flavor, I won't be returning. read more

We like bubble university the best for outside the Bay Area. All our friends who visit enjoy this place for boba. My favorite is the burn burn tea - only 25% sugar, regular ice, and add topping like brown sugar crystal boba or honey boba. My boys enjoy the milk brown sugar boba and blended drinks like the cookie smoothie. Some times service is slow...but I guess you can't rush good stuff. I'm glad this is one of my closest options to my house. read more

Bubble University is now in Rocklin! We had visited the Roseville location (on Sunrise) but found it to be a little farther for us. So when we were getting groceries today at Safeway, we were surprised to see their sign where Rita's Italian Ice and Custard used to be. Looked on Yelp and found that their soft opening date was yesterday (Sat, 3/27). Their current open hours are 12pm-7pm. Great location with plenty of parking. I love how orders are put in solely by customers on a kiosk to the side instead of having to stand in line and dictate your drink to an employee. This way I can take my time browsing their menu and can customize it according to my preferences (adding toppings, adjusting sweetness levels, etc). (Of course, I'd try to speed up my order if I noticed others waiting behind me to place an order though.) My husband tried a strawberry smoothie at 25% sweetness level and to me, it tasted like strawberry water but he didn't seem to mind, since he's trying to drink less sugar. I tried the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba at 50% sweetness and loved it, though it was still fairly sweet. It was very convenient to receive a text message after placing an order, during the order process and also a message stating that my order was ready, especially since they're only allowing 3 customers inside the building at a time. So this way you'll know when to pick up your drink. The owner Polly was great too, telling us of their 20% promotion during their Grand Opening time. They are cashless so make sure you have a credit or debit card to order. Definitely a fun place to check out! read more

So glad that they finally opened one up near me in Rocklin. This location had a soft open the day before and I was so surprised to see one open up here. I noticed it as we were going shopping at Safeway. This is a great location for me as I can buy groceries and get a delicious drink after a tiring time of shopping. There's plenty of parking here and they are open 7 days a week from 12 noon to 7 PM. Once you walk in the store, you are directed to a kiosk where you place your order and pay. It is completely touchless as they do not accept cash at this time. There is a QR code on the window that takes you to their website to order ahead for pickup. Polly greeted us with a smile as we walked in the door and she would answer any questions that we may have. It was as simple as scrolling through the menu, adding optional items, checking on various other options including levels of sweetness and type of dairy or non-dairy options, and then checking out and paying with a card or Apple Pay and Android Pay. Polly was quick in preparing our order and we were on our way, lickety -split. I ordered the strawberry smoothie and my wife got a brown sugar milk tea boba. Both drinks were spectacular and I guarantee you that we will be back for more. Thank you, thank you Bubble University for finally opening up a location near us. Great Boba, I got the coconut smoothie with no sugar, which tastes really good. I also like the staffs who are friendly and passionate.

Bubble University opened in Rocklin and it definitely has potential. Our first visit was not the best, but the drinks were still really good. We came on a Friday evening, near closing, but there was still a line to order so we waited outside until it was our turn. We ordered through the kiosk inside the shop, however, the male worker informed us that they were out of boba due to the boba shortage. I asked him what they have as a replacement and he suggested the agar boba. Then I asked him if he would substitute the brown sugar boba with the agar boba and he said okay. We order the Brown Sugar Boba Milk with no ice and the Lavender Milk Tea. Prior to paying at the kiosk, he provided us the wrong discount code about 3 or 4 times before he went to ask his boss what the correct code was, which caused a lot of frustration for us during the ordering process. We went outside to wait for our order. When we went to the counter to pick up our order, I realized my drink had ice and there was no boba in my drink. I told the worker of the mistake and he said I didn't write in the comments section when ordering at the kiosk that I wanted to substitute the agar boba. I told him we verbally confirmed with him the substitution, and he even admitted that he knew I wanted to add agar boba, but didn't add it because we didn't type it out. That was really strange because we verbally discussed it and he knew I wanted to add it, but didn't. He remade my drink and it was made correctly the second time. At this point, my rating of this new boba shop would have been a two or three at most. Having to drive over 30 minutes out of my way to come here only to have the shop run out of boba, unknowledgeable employee providing wrong information creating a frustrating ordering process, receiving an incorrectly made drink after verbally confirming how I wanted my drink made, and just a rather long wait for the drinks to be made. It was a bit frustrating. Despite the frustrations, the drinks were really tasty. The brown sugar boba milk (except no brown sugar boba, substituted with agar) was sweet and delicious. This drink has no caffeine and it was very tasty even with agar boba. The lavender milk tea had lots of lavender flavor and it tasted outstanding. Both drinks were really good in flavor. Even though there were a few hiccups during our first time at this new location of Bubble University, the drinks were really good. Bubble University closes at 7:00pm, which is really early, especially for a Friday night. Hopefully, they will open later in the future. I was really impressed with the flavor of their drinks and hope to make it here again in the future, hopefully when they have boba and before they close. read more

The worst thing about BU is that its in Roseville, and i am in Walnut Creek! I came here with my bestie when I was in the area visiting her and the memory of my drink from here still haunts me... it was DIVINE!! I actually like this new location a little better than the other one on Sunrise Blvd. It's much more modern, with an attractive interior and nicely decorated on the inside. Upon walking inside, the vibe and lighting is perfect. To the left there's a screen where you can order your drink and it can be custom made to your liking. The menu is just as extensive as the other location.... with tons of choices. My experience with the cashier and the other worker were great! No complaints at all. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Despite all the specialty drinks on the menu, I played it safe and ordered a Thai milk tea with boba. The drink came out fairly quickly and tasted pretty good. It had the right amount of sweetness 75% and I could taste the great flavor my drink was made out of. The boba was cooked well - had good flavor and a good amount of chewiness. Also another thing I liked about this place was the interior (and exterior), and the fact that parking was plenty and manageable. Overall, a great NEW boba place in Rocklin and definitely one of my favorites. read more

Stumbled upon this place while looking for boba and was NOT disappointed! After going inside we ordered via a kiosk, and got to customize lots of things like sweetness, amount of ice, etc. We then waited outside until we got a text message telling us that our drinks were ready! Portions were really big, but flavors were absolutely delicious. I got the taro smoothie with boba, and my niece got an iced coffee with salted sweet cream. Everything was a little on the sweeter side - I got mine at 50% sweetness and could've maybe even gone down to 25% but I normally like things less sweet to begin with. I don't know how natural their flavors are, but I liked how nothing tasted overly processed. The cups that they use are definitely high quality plastic and can be used again. Would not hesitate to go back. read more

Visited friend in Lincoln yesterday and he took us to this Bubble University after our lunch. He had the 2nd drink in the picture so I dunno how it tasted. We had 2 brown suger organic milk tea and the Lychee slushy. Lychee slushy was doable but the brown suger was basically ALL milk and some brown suger, No tea taste at all. Such a basic drink that shouldn't failed but went to the garbage right away! Thank God I live in an area with full of great boba joint so will never have to encounter this place again! One bothersome note ¬the BS drink comes with the boba but the ordering process with their kiosk only gave choice of no boba?? We had to ask for their help, Super confused! read more

Went here for the first time. Everything is contactless. You order through their app or at a computer inside, you wait outside while they prepare your drink then They text you your receipt and when your drink is ready. I tried the strawberry matcha with boba at 25% sweetness and less ice. I like that they have the option to make your drink less sweet and with less ice. Though the drink was at 25% sweetness, it was still a little sweet for me. I also like that they have the ability to choose the different types of milk you would like. Decided to check out the new location the other day as they have a 20% soft opening coupon going on right now. The Roseville location is closer to me, but I love trying out and supporting new locations. Located in the Safeway shopping plaza, this was easy to find and the setup with the kiosk is identical to what they have at the Roseville location. I ended up ordering the Lavender Milk Tea at 75% sweet as Bubble University's drinks tend to be less sweet compared to competition. Sadly, it was still a bit too sweet for me, so I ended up giving it to my mom. I didn't want to be that person to ask them to remake as they didn't do anything wrong, but it was a bummer. It was a good drink, but I'll have to order 50% next time. My husband enjoyed his coffee crema. read more
