    Black Matcha Latte
    Helen H.

The coffee bar is located close to the railroad tracks and is set up behind a fence. There are canopy tents popped up in the outdoor seating area. I came here because I intrigued with the black matcha latte as I never heard of it before. I liked the roasted flavor of it!

Super cute vibes and hang out spot but the drinks were not my favorite. The staff were polite and responsive. We love the Village Refillery and stopped by here to grab a drink while we shipped. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte with oat milk that was bitter and lacking in pumpkin flavor. It was very much a bitter coffee with a splash of pumpkin syrup but not nearly enough. My friend ordered the black matcha which sounded interesting but upon trying it, might have been an acquired taste. The tea flavor was strong but the cashier comparing it to a London Fog latte was a bit farfetched in my opinion.

Finally made it out to find the Hidden Coffee Bar! It really is hidden behind a fence but they have a cute seating area once you arrive. Luckily I've seen enough of them on Instagram to know where to go, and Google Maps took me right there! I was interested about the black matcha. When I asked she said it was using tea instead so I was expecting a milk tea. But when I saw her making it, it's actually hojicha. Never heard of it being called black matcha, but for those familiar it's a roasted green tea. It was properly whisked and tasted great! My only complaint was that they didn't have oat milk so I had to suffer with the whole milk since I don't like almond and that was the only other alternative choice. The alternative milks are pretty pricey at $1.50 too so at least I saved that $1.50, even if my stomach wasn't too happy about it! Overall enjoyed the ambiance, didn't see anything else that stood out though so I'm not sure I'd drive all the way back here unless there were new drinks added!

Just like the name states, this is a hidden gem of a coffee spot located in Roseville! I was able to snag a parking spot right in front of the cafe and walked right in to order myself a decaf latte. Unfortunately, the coffee fell a little short for me as the espresso tasted a bit bitter! Although I didn't love the coffee, I will still be coming back and will try something different on the menu. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! There was plenty of seating with abundant shade that helped keep it cool despite the warm morning weather. I would like to note that this spot is completely outside. Definitely a family friendly spot as many families showed up with younger kiddos but would recommend being mindful of there not being any indoor spot to cool off if needed. *they have a huge, clean, single restroom that fit my entire stroller inside with me.* if you're a parent, you know how great this is! Hope this is helpful to someone :)

Welcoming and pleasant staff!! I had chai tea latte , it was ok. I will have to give it a another try. Cozy hidden spot!

Organic brown butter latte (left) & black matcha latte (not hojicha; right) *juice not from here lol

We got the black matcha latte & organic dark brown butter latte both with organic NF milk. I absolutely love the fact that they use alternative milks with clean ingredients & Ceylon cinnamon instead of regular cinnamon. I really hope to find more coffee shops with clean & real ingredients like this one! The staff were very friendly as well. It was a cute outdoor set up. I overheard the cashier/barista saying that they give you 2 stamps on their rewards card if it's raining which is a nice plus haha. We enjoyed that the latte wasn't overpowered by milk or syrup!

Stopped by early on a Sunday morning. Order was an almond milk latte with vanilla and cinnamon. 5 stars for ambiance and outdoor seating vibes. 5 stars for menu including organic syrups, organic milks, and use of Ceylon cinnamon 5 stars for friendliness and service 3 stars for coffee flavor; tasted like a warm milk and really missing that roasted coffee flavor. Cinnamon didn't quite come thru either. Very new coffee spot from a couple who used to be with Fourscore. Located in the back of the store on the other side of the wooden fence. I wish this shop nothing but success! Hope they can play around with coffee and roasts to stay competitive.

Perfect little hideaway coffee spot. Thankfully they have a coffee flag to catch your attention. Great ambiance with light music, a gas fire, and comfy furniture. The coffee was legit! Made with care

Free parking next to the train tracks. This was an ingenuous use of the back of the Village General Store...literally a coffee shop set up in the back yard. Great variety of flavors offered all made in house. Machamama beans used to keep it local and focus on organic. The espresso was smooth and the staff was very friendly. I feel that the brown sugar cardamom was a bit heavy in the cardamom. Great place to have a cup when in downtown Roseville!

Wow! Impressive!! It all starts with the person who greets you, they set the tone for the whole experience. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, makes you want to stay a while. The owner made our drinks, and you can tell he truly loves what he does. He's incredibly knowledgeable, and we had a great conversation about coffee and how they perfected their espresso shot. That passion really comes through in every cup. We're very familiar with Pachamama and were impressed that Hidden Coffee Bar chose to serve their beans. Looking at the other organic ingredients they use, it's clear they care about quality. Espresso shot - amazing. Gibraltar - 10/10. Maple scone - delicious. We also tried their black matcha, and as someone who's a big fan of matcha lattes, it was like discovering a whole new world! So far, this spot beats any other coffee place in the Sacramento area for me. Definitely will be back, and definitely recommend.

If u love any sort of Hide And Seek stuff this is a good place to start fueling your days adventure. Hidden... it's in the name. Kinda like a secret club that you don't have to be hazed to enter, and it's good thang too, cause I pitty the fool that tries. LOL back to the coffee. No fake sweeteners here. Just home made goodness. Accept the sugar and move on with your life. The pastries are brought in from a couple different local locations. The best chocolate chip cookie I've had in a while & it went perfect with my Gibraltar coffee. (Think Cuban style coffee)

A very cute, hidden little coffee shop (as you could gather from the name) next to a refillery/trinkets store with its own appeal. (Perhaps meant to be visited in tandem.) The menu was clear, with all the relevant ingredients and variations listed. I do enjoy that they use Strauss milk, and believe they're one of very few that also offer raw milk as an option. Both drinks I purchased were delicious, not too sweet, and well-made with high quality ingredients (which I understand they also pride themselves in.) Nice fancy espresso machines too. The service was exceptionally friendly, greeting each person and answering questions with grace and patience. The environment is so cute--as an open-air cafe, it's got plants, shaded seating and a line of misters for the hotter afternoons, ideal for a date or impressing friends. It's lovely to have places like this in Roseville, and I hope to see them thrive as a community staple.

Hidden Coffee Bar - A True Gem Tucked Away This cozy little spot was born from big dreams. A husband-and-wife duo who left behind the grind of corporate America decided it was time to pour their hearts into something of their own--coffee. Taking the pop-up route turned out to be the best decision they ever made. What they've created isn't just a coffee stop--it's an experience. Tucked behind a wooden fence, Hidden Coffee Bar lives up to its name. The moment you walk into the backyard-style setup, you're met with warm wooden tables, cozy seating, sun sails fluttering overhead, and little touches of greenery that make you feel like you've stumbled into a friend's serene patio. It's the kind of place where time slows down, and the buzz of the outside world fades away. The drinks? Thoughtfully crafted. This isn't your sugar-loaded chain coffee. It's clean, bold, and made for true coffee lovers. I highly recommend adding an extra shot if you like your coffee with a bit more kick. It reminded me of Philz in San Francisco--smooth, deep, and rich in flavor. Their flavored lattes (like the one dusted with cinnamon and finished with heart-shaped latte art) are subtle and not overly sweet. Just perfect. Whether you're sipping an iced latte with organic cinnamon or enjoying a hot cup with almond milk under the shade, Hidden Coffee Bar is the kind of hidden gem you'll want to keep all to yourself--but it's too good not to share.
