Boba Unit Cafe is still my favorite matcha spot in the Greater Sacramento area! I've been coming here pretty often for the past 1.5yrs and they've been open for almost 2 years now. (So glad they started a rewards program now!) I'm glad their Uji matcha supply has become much more consistent because it used to sell out frequently when they first opened. The quality is really good, and it's my go to whenever I don't feel like making my own Japanese brands of matcha at home. Once you've had amazing matcha in Japan, you're ruined, and it's hard to settle for anything less lol. I also appreciate that every matcha is made fresh to order. They don't even offer their matcha drinks on DoorDash like they do with their other drinks, which I think shows they really care about serving it at its best. A lot of people recommend Offbeat, and I do love it! but Boba Unit's Too Much Matcha has become my favorite. The matcha foam top is delicious, and you have to sip instead of using a straw to really enjoy it. I think Offbeat's foam is slightly better, but to me, Boba Unit's actual matcha drink tastes better overall. I think people sleep on Boba Unit's matcha because of the name. Since it's called Boba Unit, I'm guessing a lot of people probably don't realize they serve really high quality matcha here. Another big plus is that Boba Unit is open every day and always has plenty of parking (I hate street parking), which is something I really appreciate. I do wish they opened earlier than 11am. I'd love to grab a matcha earlier in the morning, but I usually just go at 11am when they open so I'm not drinking it too late in the day and staying awake all night. The only other downside is the store layout. If you're meeting with more than one other person, the large table at the front is really the only good option. Since it's right next to the register and where everyone lines up to order, it doesn't feel very private if you're trying to sit and chat for a while. The two person tables along the hallway toward the back aren't as inviting, and the lighting back there kind of sucks. But anyways, if you're ever in the area, give it a try!
Good drink options! [Roseville CA] After having lunch across the parking lot I stopped by this boba shoppe for a little sweet treat. I usually like blended/smoothie drinks and they offered four with delightful flavors: Mango, Berry, Strawberry and Grape. I went for the Oreo Berry: Berry Smoothie topped with crushed Oreos. Oh, and with boba topping. Very clean and nice and bright inside with natural lighting. There was ample seating. The table seating (good for 2) against the wall each had its own wall socket where you can plug in to charge your electronics. My Oreo Berry smoothie was refreshing and yummy. The boba had a good consistency and chewy except they were a bit hard. Not sure if they were undercooked or if it has been left to sit too long after cooking. Too bad I'm not a matcha fan because Boba Unit is the place to go! My friends loved their banana matcha and mango matcha. I've been on a mango kick, and I was excited to try the mango sticky rice drink that I saw on Yelp. Sadly, they discontinued that item, so the staff recommended the mango maniac (I got it w/o the grapefruit with 0% sweetness). It was perfectly smooth and creamy with a nice texture that was just thick enough. I could tell by the naturally light sweet taste that they use real mango to make it. They are fast with getting the drinks out, even when they got an influx of customers. The staff was a friendly younger guy who was very patient and helpful with questions about the menu. Service itself was 5 stars. The place was clean and simply decorated with light wooden furniture and some fake greenery. It was a calm and inviting space, although seating is limited. Definitely returning if I'm in the area!
I've tried a lot of matcha spots, but Boba Unit Cafe seriously surprised me. I got the Strawberry Matcha and it was SO good. The strawberry at the bottom reminded me of that strawberry syrup they put in ice cream sundaes, and it paired perfectly with the matcha. Not overly sweet, just super refreshing and honestly one of the best drinks I've had in a while. I'm literally craving another one already. Cute atmosphere and definitely worth stopping by!
Everyone I've brought here always likes it! The space is small but nice for hangouts and the menu has options you don't always see at other shops. The owner/manager(?) is also always super friendly whenever I see him. I'm glad they're open on Tuesdays now! Grapefruit tea: 8/10, very refreshing Rose lychee: 8/10, not usually a floral tea person but it was tolerable for me! Pandan milk tea: 7/10, the pandan flavor is not too heavy/likely an extract, but I do like the coconut milk and toppings.
Finally brought back their matcha brulee. Honestly my favorite drink at boba unit and it always keeps me coming back. It was off the menu for a while but it's finally back so please keep changing up the menu but don't leave out the OG drinks. Will definitely be coming back for that ceremonial matcha. Best place in Roseville for matcha drinks The restaurant is pretty quiet and has plenty of seating. You can come to just chill and talk with friends while sipping some tea .
Back again for their matcha and it never disappoints. Boba Unit Cafe has officially become our family's weekly stop because the drinks are always consistent, the atmosphere is cozy and family friendly, and the staff are always welcoming. Their matcha is honestly one of our favorites smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced every time. We love having a spot we can count on to relax, catch up, and enjoy quality time together after busy days. Definitely one of our go-to comfort spots!
Cute little boba / matcha spot in Roseville, which is located in the Trader Joe's plaza. The interior has a nice sophisticated aesthetic to it. Makes for a chill place to hang out and enjoy your drinks. Tried the: - White Rabbit Matcha which is matcha with a scoop of their house made white rabbit icecream. I tasted the icecream alone before mixing it with the drink and it was good. I give this drink a 9/10. - Pandan Milk Tea which is a Pandan x Jasmine milk tea with toasted coconuts and Pandan jelly. This drink was a miss for me. The idea of it sounds amazing, unfortunately, I didn't really taste any Jasmine, and I could tell they use Pandan extract and not fresh Pandan leaves to make the drink. The Pandan jelly in the drink was good, but again, I could taste the Pandan extract in it. It (either the jelly or the drink or both) also stained my tongue green for hours ): I give this drink a 6/10. The matcha quality here is good and I'd come back again to try other items.
Cute little boba shop with a few seating and parking. I got the Thai tea which was not memorable to be honest. I couldn't really taste the tea, it kind of just tasted like milk. I also couldn't try it with the cream since they don't have any of those sip cups and when I tried to mix it, I didn't really taste a difference. I also tried the mango matcha which was also alright but it kind of just tasted like only mango, I could not taste much of the matcha. Maybe next time will just stick to the matcha as other people were saying. Otherwise, the service was really great! The guy at the front was very friendly and helpful.
Came by on Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy. No line so service was quick. I wanted to try the pandan milk tea but they were some out so I opted for a Thai milk tea. I wasn't a fan of the whipped cream that comes with the Thai milk tea. I love whipped cream on its own, but it didn't mesh well with the drink to me. Easy parking in this big lot. Couple tables and chairs if you want to hang out. There was enough seating that we could sit down while waiting for our drink. Not sure I'd come back to this particular spot and I'm still on the search for my go-to boba place in Roseville area.
Boba unit is one of the best in the area! They use high quality ingredients and get their matcha from Japan! Staff is friendly and service is quick. I tried the Oreo berry blast at 25% sweet with oat milk and it was the perfect sweetness. The banana matcha was very creamy and still pretty sweet at 50%. They continually change their menu with new seasonal drinks so follow their Instagram for updates when new drinks come in
I come here almost every weekend for their Matcha x Matcha! I tried the Matcha Einspanner once but I'm not a fan of whipped cream. Their prices are on the pricier side but I like their matcha latte a lot more than other places, they definitely don't skimp on the matcha. I went on a hike today and my $8.50 matcha x matcha was the sole reason for making it back to my car after getting lost.

Just an update on my newest favorite drink...GRAPEFRUIT TEA- 50%sweetness. It's is perfection! It screams "summer time"! My favorite is eating the slice of grapefruit after I'm done sucking down my drink!!!! Lately we have been ordering on the self serve kiosk. It's super easy and quick to use. I tried the Watermelon Slushy with lychee jelly (100% sweetness), and it was absolutely divine! It honestly tasted like I was drinking fresh watermelon instead of an overly sugary syrupy drink. It was so refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lychee jelly was the perfect addition and gave it a fun texture without overpowering the watermelon flavor. I think this is a seasonal drink, but if it is, I'll be back every time it's available. Definitely one of the best watermelon drinks I've had! read more

Finally a decent Asian drink shop in Roseville! I got a matcha yuzu drink which was light and refreshing. My husband got the strawberry mango smoothie-which was so AMAZING-it made me which I got that instead. Both drinks were great, will definitely return when we're in the area! read more

From the moment I walked in, the space felt bright, clean, and welcoming. The staff greeted me right away with genuine smiles and were super patient as I asked questions and customized my drink. I ordered a classic brown sugar milk tea with boba, and it had a perfect, rich flavor, not overly sweet, and the boba was soft and chewy with just the proper bite. I also tried one of their fruit teas, and you can really taste the difference in quality compared to many other places. The balance of tea and fruit flavors was spot-on and really refreshing. What I appreciate most is how customizable everything is. They let you choose your sweetness level, ice level, and toppings, and they're happy to make recommendations if you're not sure what to get. Service is quick, and my drinks came out fast, even though they were clearly busy. The cafe itself is a great spot to hang out: comfortable seating, good lighting, and a relaxed vibe. It's the kind of place where you can meet friends, study, or enjoy a quiet drink on your own on a non-busy day. Otherwise, the music can be a bit loud if you don't bring noise-cancelling headphones with you if you do choose to study here at Boba Unit Cafe. Overall, Boba Unit Cafe is a gem in Roseville. Really cute and spacious spot to hang out with friends, work on stuff, or study! I tried the strawberry matcha today and got it adjusted to 50% sweet, but it was still very sweet to me. The matcha flavor was also faint-- which is surprising because the color of the matcha looked really good-- so I'll probably skip their matcha and try a fruit or milk tea next time. read more

Saw that they offered some unique matcha drinks and was in the area so I decided to make a quick pit stop. I'm so glad I did! We ordered through the kiosk and decided on: - Pandan Milk Tea (comes with toasted coconut flakes & pandan jelly) $7 - White Rabbit Matcha (comes with house made white rabbit inspired ice cream) $8 Both drinks came out fairly fast and they were both yummy! The pandan MT had a nice floral undertone from the jasmine tea and the pandan jelly was fun to eat. I really enjoyed the matcha because it was nutty and the house made ice cream really added an additional creaminess without making it feel overly heavy or like a dessert drink. It wasn't too busy when I came in and I saw that there were people in the back studying so this would be a nice and chill study spot. Would definitely come back if I was in the area! read more
What initially caught my attention to try this place was the white rabbit matcha! Growing up I was obsessed with that candy, so I was super happy to see they have that flavor! The white rabbit flavor comes from their in-house made white rabbit ice cream. The matcha itself is very strong so even half the drink gets me wired, since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine. Second, I tried the Soo Soo sweet corn matcha, that was interesting but I don't love the flavor combination with matcha . But I'll be back again to try the other matchas and of course get the white rabbit matcha again. read more
I tried three drinks here: the Corn Matcha Latte, Banana Matcha Latte, and Yuzu Matcha. Both the corn and banana matcha lattes were pretty good. Not too strong on the flavoring, which I liked. They also weren't overly sweet. I ordered mine with regular sweetness, but next time I'd probably go with 75% sweet since I liked the balance better when I tried my friend's. We got oat milk with both lattes. The Yuzu Matcha was my favorite out of the three. It doesn't contain milk and has a carbonation to it, and the yuzu flavor really stands out. Super refreshing and definitely the one I'd order again. read more

I love Boba Unit for how quick the service is, the quality of their drinks, and even the seating area. While there isn't a ton of seating, the seats do have outlets, which makes it a great spot to study or get some work done if needed. The service is always consistently good, and this place probably has one of the best matchas in the Sacramento area. I'd absolutely love to come back and try all of their drinks! read more

matcha drinks here are sooo good and that's coming from someone who makes and drinks a loooot of matcha. love that this spot has a lot of creative options- boba tea drinks, coffee, matcha, fruity drinks etc. so there's something for everyone. there is also no up charge for oat milk and sweetness can be adjusted. loved the matcha einspanner the most! i also really appreciate that the drinks are not overly sweet at the base level because a lot of times matcha drinks can taste like a dessert but the flavors truly shine without being sugar overload! read more
Excited to see how they grow! As of 6/15: NO MATCHA DRINKS UNTIL JULY due to the matcha shortage! We tried the: - Pandan Milk Tea $7 (5/5) - Oreo Berry $8 (3/5) The Pandan Milk Tea is SOOOO good! I might just be saying that because it's the only Pandan milk tea in the area, BUT it truly is tasty! We didn't make any modifications to the sweetness and I thought it was perfect--not too sweet! I also love that it comes with toasted coconut and Pandan jellies. I really think it's a good price for what you get! The Oreo Berry smoothie is an amazing fruit smoothie, but the crème brûlée cream and Oreo bits push it too over the edge for me. I can see kids loving it though! Really excited to come back and try their matcha drinks, because I trust they'll do them well! read more

In 2024, we drove past this place and saw the cute bunny logo. My brother was visiting at the time and wanted to check it out. Unfortunately it wasn't open yet and had a sign that said "Coming Soon." In April 2025, my husband and I stopped by. Got a milk tea and a smoothie. The fresh grapefruit on top of the smoothie was pretty unique. The milk tea was decent but must have had quite a high caffeine concentration. I couldn't sleep the entire night. While I usually get highly caffeinated at boba tea shops (perfect when you need energy to do lots of house cleaning), this seemed a little too much caffeine, if that is a thing. Plus prices seemed higher than other establishments, and the wait time was a bit long. Fast forward to this weekend and my brother is back in town. Thought we'd take him to check it out. He commented about sparse it is inside, with the minimalist decor. We thought they could at least do something cute with the bunny logo but there really wasn't anything bunny-themed inside. Drinks seemed a little pricey. 3 drinks cost us $23. Wait time was very long. While it was a weekend and probably a little more crowded than usual, it seems like other boba places are a little more streamlined and faster with order prep. Husband liked his smoothie and said he'd get it again. Brother finished his white peach refresher fairly quickly. My Rosey Peach drink wasn't too bad and even had little roses inside! Unique drinks but on the more expensive side, and prepare for a wait. Worth it to try but not sure we'd return since there are so many boba places around us nowadays! read more

Both my friend and I got the pandan milk tea. I had the boba. The boba is okay, slightly more on the soft side and could have used a bit more brown sugar infused into it. The pandan milk tea itself was good, definitely glad I got half sugar. It a good pandan taste to it. We were able to get our drinks pretty quick. It's a very minimalist design in the cafe which I enjoyed. read more

Waited for this place to open and finally got to try it with my family. The place is small but narrow where there is plenty if seating and also a cute toddler table at the front for the little ones to enjoy. Menu is small but not overwhelming so that tells you the quality of their products are good. We ordered the BU milk tea with the scoop of ice-cream which was pretty rich but really good. They had offered the strawberry matcha which was pretty good as well with the fresh strawberries. The mango smoothie was also a good choice. Will come again to try other drinks. read more

Cute, clean place with a great vibe. The young guy at the register was very friendly and talkative, which made the experience even better. It was our first time here and we loved it. I got the strawberry smoothie with no sugar and I'm so glad I did -- it was delicious. My son got the banana matcha with oat milk at 50% sugar and it was sooo delicious (and I don't even usually like banana!). Definitely one of my new favorite spots. We'll be coming back for sure. read more

I've been here twice now per the recommendation of a friend and everything is amazing. From the traditional boba drinks to the matcha. The drinks weren't overly sweet and had a rich tea flavor. I tried the white rabbit matcha and the classic milk tea. Both hit the spot with the perfect balance of sweet and tea. Such a rich addition to the Roseville area, will definitely be back soon. read more

Amazing quality matcha!!! Me and my girlfriend went to celebrate national matcha day by trying a few new spots and Boba Unit Cafe was one of them. Their matcha flavor is so spot on and has that perfect grassy flavor while still being sweet and nutty. The white rabbit matcha (not pictured) was by far our fav! It was so amazing and on point flavor wise! The mango matcha was delicious but slightly lost the matcha flavor with the strength of the mango flavoring; not complaining though as the mango was so fresh and not artificial tasting at all. The thai tea einspanner was pretty good as well, I would have preferred a stronger thai tea flavoring but the cream and floral notes were overall delicious. Give this place a try if you're a matcha fanatic! read more

I found Boba Unit Cafe through Yelp while in the Roseville/ Rocklin area, and I was instantly drawn in by their unique menu! Unlike big franchises, Boba Unit has a down to earth menu featuring well crafted Asian flavors from the pandan milk tea to their ceremonial grade matcha from Japan. My partner and I arrived just before closing, and to our surprise, it was quite busy inside. We also weren't the last customers of the night! Inside has an all white aesthetic and there's a couple tables if you prefer to dine-in and hang out. Boba Unit also has a kids table area, so consider this spot family friendly! I ordered the White Rabbit Matcha, which is a matcha latte topped off with house made white rabbit ice cream. I loved the subtle flavor and creaminess of the ice cream, but it was a little awkward to mix in since the ice cream kept floating up to the top. There was also way too much ice for my liking. Overall, Boba Unit offers drinks that are more elevated than your typical boba spot; however there's still room for improvement, which is understandable in the soft opening phase. read more

Great seating! Although there is a 3% subcharge for paying with card so if you're not up for that make sure you bring cash. Their drink to ice ratio is very bad. They dump a bunch of bulk ice and not that much actual drink. Great matcha though! read more
