The staff were super friendly and my drink came out fast. The matcha was tasty, the cookie is enormous, and it's adorable in there. What more can you ask for? They had cute little Capybara merchandise. The decor is bright and airy with greenery. It's a small place. I'd stop by again. It's definitely a "sweet drink" experience though. Don't expect dark espressos and bitter drinks (which I also like).
So fun and such a cute design with decor inside. We tried 2 of the iced coffee variations and both were absolutely delicious. I usually need to get my Vietnamese coffee sweetened and they were able to accommodate my request. The workers were helpful and quick with our order. The decor inside was so cute and very trendy.
Super cute cafe, ran by a friendly family. I got the seasonal iced pumpkin Thai tea and it was soo good. It was my first time here and I'll definitely be back!
The vibes were great, staff was nice, and I loved every other aspect of the store except for the matcha. I was recommended the Capy Matcha, and when I talked to the barista, she let me know that all of their drinks run less sweet (abt 25% sweetness). If you like sweet things I would ask to up the sweetness! Regardless, I tried the drink and the drink itself was lacking depth of flavor. Not sure if it's the matcha they use, but it leaned a bit more on the astringent side and I didn't taste any other notable flavor profiles. I tend to love a nutty matcha like Yame first harvest and I also love Okumidori and Saemidori cultivars and am a bit biased towards them. But regardless of my bias the matcha itself was lacking flavor and just tasted really astringent. I also have gone to Capy Cafe multiple times and their drinks tend to vary based on the barista working. This is definitely expected, but the variance is too high and perhaps it would be good to develop SOPs that standardize drink making across the board. I also wanted to try their Vietnamese coffee but it was marked out of stock. Not sure if I would come again after giving Capy Cafe multiple tries, but if the drinks get better, I might return because I love the vibes and decor in the store.
Was so excited to try this local spot in Folsom! I had seen a lot of people post about it on tik tok and instagram. The aesthetic was very simple and cute with lots of capibaras all over the cafe in plush form. I was greeted right away and I ordered the imperial jasmine that came with a matcha cream top. The jasmine part was nice and strong in flavor but not too overpowering and the cream top was the perfect amount of sweetness. This place is so cute and I wanna come back and try more of their matcha drinks
I've been back a few times since my initial visit, and unfortunately the matcha drinks haven't been very consistent. The one thing that has been reliably good is the matcha foam on top and honestly, each sip needed it to taste good. The ratios still seem off; the drink can taste watery at times and the matcha just doesn't shine through the way you'd expect it to. I've tried asking for less ice and less sweet, but it hasn't made much of a difference. There is also sediment at the bottom even after mixing; they may not be sifting the powder first, or the matcha powder itself could be lower quality. The egg coffee was sold out every time I returned, so I still haven't been able to try it. Capy Cafe is probably doing well partly because it's one of the only spots in Folsom offering made-to-order whisked matcha, so there isn't much direct competition. If you've had exceptional matcha before, the drinks here might be a little underwhelming but if you're just looking for a local whisked matcha latte, it may still be worth a try.
Was in the area for a softball tournament and my bff was craving a viet coffee. When we got there, we were thrown back by the cute, fancy decor and claw machines, but ended up being a chill spot with friendly people and excellent coffee. PLUS... WE WON A CAPY in the claw machine. If you're in the area and want a chill spot to hang out, or need a quick pick me up,try this spot.
Over the weekend, my friend, daughter and I drove to Folsom to check out the Capy Cafe! They just opened on April 11th and my daughter is obsessed with Capybaras so we knew we had to check them out. The inside was so cute and inviting with stuffed Capybaras spread throughout - my daughter wanted to take one of the large stuffed ones home! We ordered a Capy Latte, Sea Salt Coffee and a Brown Sugar Boba Milk - all 3 drinks were great! We devoured them all before we left. They also offered Matcha, different teas, cookies and even Tiramisu! I loved how fresh the drinks tasted and that you could still taste the coffee and nothing was overly sweet. The inside has a decent amount of seats and they even have seats just outside that still make you feel like you are sitting inside. We found a cozy spot to relax and enjoy our drinks, but they were definitely busy and seats filled up fast! Service was great - everyone we spoke to was super friendly and eager to help! We will definitely be back next time we are in Folsom! Loved this place - check them out!
Really good matcha. Highly recommend the Capy Matcha which comes with the matcha foam. The Sunset tea is great as well; the overall flavor gives the impression of violets which probably comes from the butterfly pea flower syrup. Cute cafe with stuffies to cozy it up. A great place to hang out with friends or even a quick date! They have some seating outside as well.

I got the banana matcha, the cream was a little thin for me, but has a nice flavor. Matcha was smooth and good quality. . Love the mini claw machines. Had so much fun trying to win the little plush keychain when I have a million of them at home. Just the fun of winning is fun. . They had a raffle giveaway on the grand opening day. This is the cutest cafe! I mean who doesn't love a capybara? We were immediately greeted when we walked in. After looking over the menu we ordered. I was sad they were sold out of the Egg Coffee but now I'll have to come back for sure! My daughter had fun trying her luck on the mini claw machines and she scored some cute Hello Kitty! I ended up ordering the Sea Salt Coffee made with delicious Vietnamese Coffee. My daughter got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba. Yum!!! As soon as the Egg Coffee is back, we're headed back!

The space itself is super cute, though definitely on the smaller side so we got lucky with our timing because it filled up quickly and the line was already stretching out the door. I ordered the capy matcha, which comes with a matcha cream top, and it was honestly so good and rich, creamy and perfectly balanced. The only thing I wished for was a bit more variety in sweeteners. They currently offer cane sugar, which is fine, but I usually go for agave, so having that option would've made it perfect for me. What really stood out, though, was how welcoming the staff were. Everyone was friendly, professional, and just genuinely kind. I appreciated that they took the time to ask if it was our first visit and whether we preferred coffee or matcha it made the experience feel more personal. My husband kept it simple with a latte, which was solid and exactly what you'd expect, and my daughters loved the brown sugar boba milk the boba was soft and the drink itself was delicious. Overall, it's such a great little spot, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for quality matcha and a warm, inviting vibe!
So glad that Folsom has a spot like Capy Cafe now. I love that they're open early too! I've enjoyed every experience so far and service is always friendly. Egg coffee/ca phe trung: 5/5, the egg cream is delicious and Viet coffee tastes even better when you let the ice melt it a bit. Capy milk tea: 5/5, really unique as I haven't had a lotus flavored milk tea before. It might not be for everyone's palette but I enjoyed it with the matcha cream top.

Decided to try this spot as their tea selection caught my eye. I ordered the jasmine cloud which had a good strong jasmine flavor and the cloud foam was a nice balance. Small business with really welcoming and friendly vibes/service. Didn't stay long but location seems to be good for studying or just hanging out with a good amount of comfy seating. It is a bit on the pricy side but worth it for the quality tea and service. read more

First time visiting this place and I remember when it used to be the Sunbright boba a couple of years ago. My experience was positive and the gal who helped me was very friendly and helpful explaining to me what the Lotus Milk Tea was so shout to her (sorry don't know her name but she worked around 30 mins to closing.). Since I didn't know what the lotus was she gave a sample and explained that it was more on the bitter side compared to the Jasmine Milk tea which is what I normally order at other places. To my surprise, I liked the flavor and decided to order it. I wish they offered larger sizes. Bc i had a long drive during my work day I needed more to drink on my drive. They only had 1 size, hence my 4 star rating. The boba was delicious, soft and fresh-tasting. Prices are on the higher end. And also found out that Capy is named after the animal a capybara. Cute little capybara themed cafe, but the drinks were just ok. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty bland and could use a bit more sweetener. I don't have a sweet tooth by any means but it tasted like the drink wasn't sweetened at all. The strawberries looked jammy and promising but they ended up being sour. The quality of the matcha was pretty good but without sweetener it was really lacking. The drink also had a lot more ice than I'd like. read more

Saw this place on IG and finally had the chance to check it out! I had an appt down the road so decided to treat myself with a matcha drink from here. The location is near a busy road so you can't miss it. The interior of the cafe was cute, aesthetic, and of course incorporated capybaras everywhere from plushies to merchandise, etc. The menu had a decent amount of options from drinks to pastries. I ended up ordering a Capy Matcha drink for me and a regular Matcha Latte to bring home to my husband. Both drinks definitely had a good taste of the matcha and not overly sweet. I love matcha drinks that aren't too sweet so I'm still able to get a good taste of the matcha flavor. Service was also quick with little to no wait. I just happened to stumble upon this cafe on their grand opening with everyone congratulating each other, and let me tell you...it was CAPY-TIVATING... capybara plushies EVERYWHERE! So zen, especially with friendly staff. The menu is pretty concise: milk tea, lattes, and matcha. A bit on the pricier side, but hey, the capy ambiance makes it worth it. Seating is cozy, a small indoor setup with wooden patio-style tables for two, plus a comfy lounge corner by the window. Ideal for a quick catch up chat with a friend or grab 'n go. Come hug and chill with the cutie cappies before they get capy-napped by other customers or accidentally dripped on by drinks! read more

what a cutie little spot capy cafe is! inside a tiny strip mall, you will find this adorable cafe. when you walk in, you're instantly greeted with capybara's everywhere! the sweetest gal was working at the register and walked us through a few different suggestions -- all great! we ended up with the frozen matcha, VERY sweet. the vietnamese iced coffee with and without ube cream top.. absolutely incredible! the brown sugar boba milk was good -- but we are big thai tea fans! lots if parking options; expect some sort of line on the weekends. i was shocked how busy it was; a line consistently throughout our visit. not really a lot of options for kiddos, but they have claw machines there to keep them entertained! can't wait to come back and try some different drinks! read more

Such a cute shop! The strawberry matcha had a nice strong matcha flavor. Not overly sweet at all. I loved the Egg coffee, bold coffee flavor with a complimentary sweetness from the egg cream top to balance everything out. Staff was great, and offered suggestions and recommendations. I'm so glad that there is a new matcha cafe in Folsom. I work around here and it's hard finding a good matcha place around. I got the double matcha and it was so good, creamy, nutty, and the right amount of sweetness. It's a small cafe with very limited seatings. The decorations are super cute and there is a mirror for you to take pictures at. I thought the price was a bit expensive at first, but for the portion, it's great! You can tell they use very high premium matcha. read more

Saw this place on Instagram and decided to give it a shot. Im a big matcha head so any new place that offers matcha Im excited to try. I personally love a strong matcha but unfortunately this wasn't strong enough for me. The flavor was there although it was lacking what Im used to. I would recommend to maybe get the double matcha if you like strong matchas like me! Still a really cute place with enough seating (indoor/outdoor) to chit chat:) read more

So glad I got to finally try this place! I got the capy matcha, which is a matcha drink with matcha cloud foam and matcha powder. It was very creamy and well-balanced! Perfect for slow sipping. I also tried the coconut drink with matcha cloud. Both drinks are just amazing! Definitely a great place if craving good quality matcha in the area. The location is very convenient as it's in the heart of Folsom. The inside is really cute with a bunch of capy bara stuffy for a cute pic. There's limited sitting and no plugs, so I got a little work done, which is the only down side. read more

I was in need of a little pick me up, so I checked Yelp and came across this spot for Vietnamese coffee. It is such a cute little capybara themed coffee shop. There were capybara stuffed animals around the seating areas, and my kids had a great time playing with them while we waited. My coffee came out pretty quickly. I tried the salted cream top and really enjoyed it. The coffee itself was just okay since I have had better, but once I mixed the cream top into the coffee, the flavor improved a lot. Overall, it was a nice stop, and I would come back again if I am in the area and need a caffeine boost. read more

We were really excited to try this place unfortunately when we put a straw in the capy latte a long piece of hair came out with it. This definitely didn't leave a great taste with us so we ended up tossing both drinks. We also were a little bummed how they charged $1.50 for soft foam too. It didn't mention that in the menu especially when the ingredients are included having sea salt cream. We looked at our receipt and found about the extra charge. The people were friendly there who took our orders, the space is nice and relaxing but the coffee is a no go for us. read more

This place is too cute! For drinks my fiance and I got a viet sea salt coffee to share and a sunrise drink. I dont recommend adjusting sweetness at all as they both weren't too sweet to begin with, unless you really dont like sweet coffee. The jasmine tea in the sunset was nice and strong and had pieces of fruit in it. I like that it tastes like real fruit. The coffee was a very unique one-you can def tell its slow drip and it doesnt have a bit of the bitter/burnt aftertaste that some viet coffees have. The sea salt crema is addicting. We also got their homemade tiramisu and smores cookie. Even though the tiramisu was homemade it didnt have a strong coffee taste, was a bit grainy and I wouldn't get again. The cookie was good but we had to check like three times because they kept forgetting to grab it for us-they we're apologetic and nice however. I would def come back! read more

Shesssh!!! Our standards for coffee and Vietnamese coffee are high and this place did not disappoint. We also got the egg one and loved it. We walked into this store yawning and came out with our jaws dropped. We had the best, friendly service! So welcoming and genuinely kind. Loved the claw machine for my littles! They have two! Took a few tries but we got one. Dad wasn't going to walk away without one lol. They have pastries too. We didn't try any this round. Parking is easy and the place is cute with a good amount of seating. Love this place! So happy there's one in Folsom!! Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!!! read more

What I got: Capy Matcha Sunrise Fruit Tea Ube Coffee This place is super cute! I am obsessed with capybaras and there's cute stuff animals of Capy baras inside, they also got some cute merch! I love the Capy stickers and tote bag! The ambiance is casual, cute, they have seating inside and some outside. They also have some claw machine. The service is amazing! Everyone's nice and very attentive, drinks come out really fast! I love that this place is getting busy The drinks are sooo good! Super delish! I'm obsessed with matcha and I love how they make the consistency really thick, creamy and good amount of matcha in my latte! The sunrise fruit tea is a good option for a very refreshing drinks and very balanced, the Ube coffee is really good I love how strong the coffee is and the Ube definitely balanced it out ! Even though there was a line, the service was quick and super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients in their drinks. The coffee, matcha, and tea they use really stand out. I tried the Cafe Sua Da and the Capy Matcha, and both were excellent. The flavors were well-balanced and refreshing, and you can tell a lot of care goes into what they make. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more drinks, and I hope they continue expanding their menu! read more
