We live B&N! Our boys love coming here! They will spend their bday money here getting manga and novels to read. We still have to come and try brunch. One of these days. Staff is always helpful. Parking is probably the biggest challenge to no fault of B&N. Books are at msrp unless you pay for the b&n annual club membership which can save you a discount if you buy enough books here to offset. People will always ask why not just get it on amazon for cheaper but I still like to go and support these bookstores and find stories and books vs look online..maybe it's the old fashion treasure hunting and flipping through book summaries and covers that we find intriguing ...to past time by...but it's something I enjoy doing with my sons and that in itself as rare as it is...is worth it to me! read more

This was a nice, large bookstore to browse and wander. It had a lot to see & a lot of variety of items that were nicely organized. The kids section was spacious & had a big padded seating area. A staff member went around to keep it neat. I love that they had a lot of Ooly brand items. We ended up purchasing a book and small game. The staff we encountered at checkout was fine & gave a straightforward experience. It's an enjoyable stop to look around when visiting the Palladio. read more

This Barnes & Noble is huge! It is located in the Folsom Palladio area and I believe is one of only a few locations that has a full blown cafe inside. I mean like a Barnes & Noble kitchen with sandwiches, burgers, pastas and even ribs - with separate seating and everything. The inside is massive, but organized and well stocked. I liked seeing the big book displays and the different sections they created. The kids area was also really nice and welcoming. While we didn't check out the cafe as we had just eaten lunch, we did buy a few books for our daughter. We could have spent hours here, but sadly we had to drive home. Staff were very friendly and helpful! You could always find at least one employee walking around in each section which I really liked. Overall, this is an amazing location! I highly suggest stopping in if you're in the area - buy a book and grab some lunch! Can't wait to come back next time we are in Folsom! read more

What a u unique Barns & Noble!!! It has a coffe bar & a restaurant inside!!! My daughters were able 2 find their books quickly. I loved the children section cause it had soooo many Sandra Boynton books-my favorite children books!!!! One day when I have grandchildren, I'll buy every single 1 of her books!!! I am writing this review to bring a matter of customer service and ethical integrity to the appropriate person's attention. Yesterday, on 6/28/26, at approximately 4 PM, I purchased a book from an employee whose name I did not learn but who was behind the check-out register and was female, brunette, I believe blue-eyed, and distinguishably heavy-set. She was astonishingly rude. She was quite gruff from the moment I got to the front of the line, never smiled or demonstrated any effort to be pleasant or polite, and was curt and uncouth in her demeanor, facial expression, and tone of voice. After completing the purchase, she concluded "there you go!" Really? I'd expect something along the lines of "thank you." Ironically, I was the one who then said "thank you" to demonstrate for her how polite people behave. For everyone else reading this, this B&N is actually EXCELLENT for its size, selection, and location. It is focally located in the Palladio, and even has its own restaurant complete with alcohol. But integrity first. I expect to eventually delete this post, but want to first bring my customer service experience yesterday to management's attention. read more

Stopped by for their annual end of year sale. This Barnes & Noble is huge and is one of the rare locations with the B&N Kitchen. This location is huge and you're almost guaranteed to walk out with something. Everything is always well organized and clean. I absolutely loved seeing how busy this place was for the holidays. read more

This is a nice place in the Palladio to peruse books and more in a relaxing environment. My family and I frequent this place and find that the time does pass by here quite quickly...quite enjoyably. There's seating areas around where you can take a book for a spin before purchasing. And there's a restaurant and coffee bar if the time is right for food and beverages. There's just so much to enjoy... The place is brightly lit and well decorated. Apart from books, there's a lot more other things you can buy...vinyl records, toys, even model kits you can assemble in your spare time. And there is always the staff, friendly and knowledgeable about the store and its merchandise. Summer time in Folsom can get quite hot, but a relaxing visit to Barnes and Noble here in the Palladio is cool! read more

I love to come to this outdoor mall in Folsom . Everytime we come here we have to stop at Barnes and Noble grab a coffee so us adults can continue to walk around. My boys and I love to look around pick books to read . This store is huge and has a lot of cool things and obviously great books . On the left side they have a restaurant and coffee . I saw one of the employees, who works in the beverage area, blow his nose and then proceed to make 2 beverages for some customers without washing his hands. He put the lids on the drinks as well. Not very sanitary. He blew his nose a second time, while still behind the counter, and then stepped away from the station. Hopefully he washed his hands then. The bookstore itself seems pretty nice though. However, after seeing the situation at the food and drink area, I'd steer clear of it. read more

Stopped by when I was walking around Palladio and there was a lot to look at inside. They have happy hour M-F 3pm-6pm at the Kitchen inside and food looks good. There are a different selections of books for all ages and different dramas, toys, bookmarks, novelties and more. I bought some cute books for my 1 yr old and 3 yr old. I did have to ask where certain sections are because it was confusing, but the employees will answer your questions. read more

We had dinner at The Melt and wanted to stretch our legs after. I haven't been to a book store in like forever, because I mostly read e-books. This Barnes & Noble is bigger than I expected with high ceilings and spacious. If I had the time, I'd feel comfortable curling up in a corner and read. There is a big section of Manga, which my teenager son enjoyed thoroughly. A large area for young kids. A nice section of magazines and vinyl/CDs. I think you can find just about anything here. There is also a restaurant called Barnes & Noble Kitchen inside - very convenient! The individual private restrooms are a plus! We purchased a couple of books and this was a nice treat. Went to this B&N location with a friend for Liz Tomforde and Tarah Dewitt book signing - very spacious and super organized event! B&N Employees were great and the event went by smoothly- and had a great time. I love that this location has multiple restrooms and several indie books that I haven't seen at other B&N locations. This bookstore doesn't have as many books as other locations but they do have a great selection. Half this store is a restaurant and there's a Starbucks inside. When you first walk in, it's all tables with popular books. There's one table with Barnes and Noble exclusive editions. These are usually hardback classics with golden edges on the pages. They sell vinyls here too. They also have a Harry Potter table with merchandise. Their children's section has a seat for reading and lots of toys for sale. To the right of the shop are the bathrooms and water fountain. The cafe is on the right side too. This shop have much more space than other locations, making it feel less cramped. Some areas of the bookstore have so much space, such as the manga section. read more

The amount of effort this staff put into making my experience at this Barnes & Noble Bookstore location was next level. Marcus a manager was very knowledgeable with his technical assistance. A clerk named Cameron was particularly helpful as he went the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. These employees did everything necessary to make my experience worth taking the time to write a review (BTW: this is the first business review I've ever written and it is well deserved). Honestly, I love the food here, but the service is horrible. There were about five active tables in the entire restaurant for lunch, so we walked in to find a seat. We did not see the sign that said please wait to be seated. That was our mistake. The waitress literally yelled at us. She not only yelled at us, she scolded us. My elderly mother was shocked, and I was embarrassed. There were tons of open tables, I'm not sure why it mattered where we sat, but we definitely paid the price for it. She told us that we should read the sign in the next time we come in we shouldn't just sit down. She was obviously angry, and the people that were sitting at the table next to us looked afraid. Again, this was all in a very rude tone. Then, she proceeded to see other people take their orders and get them started before coming back over to us. These are people that came in after us. She was clearly making a statement. It was as if we were being punished. We apologized for seating ourselves again and asked if we could have someone take our order. Finally, a different waitress came to take our order. My elderly mother has back problems and she just needed to sit down. The whole experience was very offputting. I'm sorry we didn't read the sign. I think the public shaming and waitresses attitude was unnecessary. read more

This is one of the posher Barnes and Noble bookstores. That is because it is relatively new and built to spec. It is located in Palladio shopping center in Folsom, CA which makes parking Besides the bookstore, it has a cafe and a separate coffee bar with a lounge area. Plus they have an outdoor seating area. The coffee bar serves Starbucks coffee. You do not have to buy anything to sit in the coffee lounge or outdoor patio. On the weekends, the cafe has a brunch menu served 10am- 2pm. Last weekend the menu included bottomless mimosas and lemon ricotta pancakes. Oooh! The layout and interior design of the bookstore is fun and cheery. Great lighting. Eye catching displays. Good selection of current and classics reads for adults, teens, and children. They have discounted books and ongoing sales specials. Each month, they have monthly book picks and offer buy one and get half off from those picks. If you cannot find a particular book, you can ask the associates at the front counter or information desk. They can search the inventory online and even order items to be shipped to the store. They also sell cute greeting cards, kitschy gift items, tote bags, journals, planners, calendars, and new vinyl records. Yup, you heard me right... vinyl records!! They have a ton of books separated in different categories, and I enjoy that they bring in new books consistently. My favorite book is the encyclopedia on dogs. Ambience is nice, it can range from peaceful to noisy depending on the time of day, and the time of week. I like to visit this place when we come here occasionally and I like that there's a cafe nearby. The bathroom can be stinky. read more

Clean, good room, lots of choices. Browsing is very enjoyable. Always good number of staff that move through the store and connect with customers (not to little or too much). Close to lots of shopping which is convenient. At a time when some bookstores give so much space to other types of items such as toys and music, this location has almost all its space with books. I often come to this location, at least twice a week. It's one of 2 in the country (other one being in New York). I have never once had a bad experience here. Book buying is a personal experience here. All the staff is very knowledgeable of genres, authors, and really take the time to get to know what kind of reader you are and are either always ready to give recommendations or find a colleague whose better suited to your reading taste. Very kind and patient with me when I have specific requests or questions. The Kitchen is wonderful. The food is absolutely outstanding. Every meal I have had is fantastic. It is stunningly fresh, modern, and beautifully presented. I personally recommend the Bricked Cooked Chicken (the tarragon butter is out of this world). The café/bar area is also amazing. This is where I usually sit to work or read. The baristas are outstanding. They are attentive and are always willing to talk about the book you are reading. Cassie is an absolute doll. They are a Starbucks bar but they also serve beer and wine as well as flights. Definitely stop by if you have the chance! read more

Crazy rude employee I encountered here. I went to check out a book and stood in an empty line. A few minutes go past and a line starts building behind me. I then look around and realize that three employees are just chatting away at the "customer service" counter. I wave to them so they can help me out but was met with a worker that had so much attitude. Ouch! What a complete horror show. Just got here to purchase a book for my son. "Customer Service" person gave us a complete attitude when we had the audacity to ask for the location of this book. I almost apologized for asking for her valuable time to assist... Waited 5 minutes at check out with no cashier in site. "Customer Service" was straight looking at us standing in line waiting for a cashier. Of course they did not offer any assistance. We then decided to walk over to the coffee bar to see if we might be able to check out the book there. As you can probably guess by now if you're still reading this, they don't have a scanner to check out a book After that we proceeded to "customer service" where we "bothered" another completely angry associate in order to pay for the book... DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU PLAN ON WORKING OR STUDYING. The manager here is out of line. Despite ordering coffee and lunch to get some work done, the manager insisted I leave after a 45 minutes, even though the bar was wide open. I was the only one there. It's absurd to enforce such a strict time limit when there's no one else there. The manager's attitude ruined what could have been a productive and enjoyable time. This kind of customer service is simply unacceptable. read more

I love bookstores! I even have a Borders gift card that I forgot to use before it went out of business. Glad to see that B&N is still in business. This location is clean and well organized. I liked the look of their cafe area, unfortunately it was closed when I went. If I lived nearby I'd probably come here once a week just because of the many books I can look at. Prices on books and other things are still kind of expensive but I still don't mind getting some books here. read more

This is my third visit here so now it's time to review! Here is goes! I first came here with a friend for lunch and was totally surprised they offered food in a bookstore. Go figure. And to boot, the food here is really good. I mean really good. My second visit here was with the elite yelp group which we sampled several small plates. Nothing fancy, you're basic grilled cheese, tomato soup, and chicken wings, but very tasty. My third visit I brought my husband. We both had salmon and it was out of this world. I hardly give a restaurant five stars, but this place really earned it. The host and waiter were very friendly responsive and quick to make sure things were right. The salmon was seasoned perfect But was a bit rare for my palate. The kitchen took it back and cooked it under the broiler for a few minutes and it was perfect. Love the citrus salad with fresh heirloom tomatoes and cucumber. So fresh and packed with flavor flavor!! One of the best salmons in the Folsom/El Dorado Hills Area. read more
