I've bought several books for my book club, cds to listen to at home, and various gifts for other people. I would say the prices are really good here, much cheaper than if you tried going to a chain book store or even small local shops (still should support them). The store is really well organized and clean. The staff are very nice and helpful if you're looking for something specific. There also is a section in the back where you can sell items but I haven't done this yet. Check them out!

Prices range from free ( aha... giving it away with nothing asked in return kind of free), a quarter to $3. When they have the monthly pop up sales, recently decommissioned library books are 10 for $1. Yes... I did a double take too. 10 books for $1!! The proceeds goes back into the library programs. I purchased 8 beautiful cards the sweet volunteer mentioned were all handmade by locals for $3.00 each! The receipt wouldn't print, but I didn't need one! My 5 year old received the Amazing Animals book from their Free Books basket(1 book per child) she recommended as well! I would definitely recommend paying a visit to this non-profit organization that opened it's doors in the year 1990, all run by volunteers, all items generously donated and all staff volunteers! Each sale of course goes towards the library, they accept donations for gently used books, DVDS, CDs and audio books as well! In fact we'll be stopping by this morning to donate some children's books and purchase some Handmade Father's Day cards as well to help support our favorite library! :-)

We used to buy childrens books here almost weekly, their selection is decent while extremely unorganized. (Don't trip on the piles of books). Don was great, as he was always friendly and helpful, and it was clear he had a deep passion and love for books. We would bring in trade books as our kids grew up and outgrew their books, and they would discount any new purchases based on how much trade credit we had with them. The books were always priced well and reasonably, and while disorganized, it was the closest bookstore we had. it was always fun to look for treasures, and chat a bit with Don. Things went completely downhill when his wife took over the business. She got rid of the friendly cashiers and replaced them with what appears to be her friends, who know next to nothing about books, and are constantly in bad moods or throw attitude. Last week we were in line and the grey haired lady rand up a guy in front of us, saying nothing, then mockingly said something along the lines of "This is where you give me the credit card so that you pay", without saying anything else to him. No idea why she was so mad as a quiet customer who was confused by herr terrible attitude. We wanted to leave immediately, but we had two books to buy, so we had to deal with the aftermath. Then when we were checked out, she grumpily told us the price without looking at us. What on earth is happening here now. When we got home, we saw that the books were priced 1 or 2 dollars more than the new price, so even with our discount, we were practically paying new prices for books in fairly poor condition. We will be going elsewhere in the future. We just wish a decent bookstore would open in our area so we don't have to drive to Half Price. Maybe when his wife gives up, it will prompt someone else to open a shop who actually cares.

They always have present employees that are so kind and helpful. When you ask for a book not only do they show you where its at the make sure you are getting the exact book you asks for. At the registers they make sure you know about any and all promotions they have going just in case you wanted to jump in on any. Did you know that Barnes & Noble has so many games and puzzles and other fun gadgets? I for one didn't as I walked throughout the store I was blow away by see all this new stuff to me. If you are into coffee stop by Starbucks and read a book and enjoy your drink. Well next time here take a walk around the store and see all they have to offer. Where my mom lives they don't have a similar bookstore near her so this was a treat for her. They had a lot of items on clearance and good stuff too. Books, photo albums, games, ect. A new item I've never seen before was Old Testaments with journal aspects included in each page. The book is extra large and they have margins with blank lines in it for journaling. They also have all sorts of styles. The one that caught my attention was the one with flowers on the front. I think this is a great invention for someone who love studying the Old Testament and wants to take notes so they can refer back to them. I believe they have this for the New Testament too. They also had a great assortment of men's ties and socks. That was a new addition to a book store. They had beautiful white handkerchiefs with the Temple Embroidered on it in white. They also carry drinks and snacks, that's a new addition. And I was surprised to see food in a bookstore. They also carry games for all ages. This is a really nice bookstore and it is a one shop stop for you Church needs.
