Such a cool fun place. My girls played the claw machine ( 5 dollars 5 try's) they won 4 stuffys and felt so happy about their success!!! The coffee and matcha was great! The place is max cuteness! If you love capybaras, this place will give you the fuzzies as there are plush capys of all shapes and sizes to cuddle and sit with as well as Capy Cafe merch, including adorable slap bracelets and plushie key chains. We didn't know it was the grand opening so were pleasantly surprised to get a ticket to be entered for 3 prizes, and there was a cute photo op next to the front door with Capy props and balloons. Their customer service is on point: when you pick up your drinks, they're served on a wooden tray with your straw; great idea if you're carrying multiple drinks or just don't want to juggle your drinks if you're carrying bags, etc. My sea salt Vietnamese coffee hit- you get a nice dose of caffeine and the sea salt cream was amazing. The two combined balanced one another perfectly. I'm going to start a new job in the area soon so I plan on coming back to try more drinks including their banana matcha. My experience at the Capy Cafe had mixed feelings. The food was overall good & tasty had good flavor in the Oreo cookie I had bought. But as soon as I was asking to look over the menu, the owner comes up PUSHING away the person that was trying to help me order my food. I found that very disrespectful and disruptive. He helped me find out the goods and all of the drinks. As soon as I sat down waiting for my food the owner says "Sorry!! he's new" which I had no problem with him, the "new" employee was doing great taking my order until the owner runs up taking over. 5 minutes pass of time of me waiting and I look over to see the owner retraining the guy again right in-front of me. I felt uncomfortable and so dissatisfied, seeing him be rude to the new employee even tho he did a great job helping me. Overall, service not too great but the food was very good. read more

Absolutely loved my visit to Capy Cafe in Folsom! Everything we tried was amazing, but the tiramisu was next level--so soft, rich, and perfectly balanced without being too sweet. The capy matcha was super unique and smooth, and both the regular matcha and latte were made perfectly with great flavor and just the right amount of creaminess. The sunrise tea was also super refreshing and a great choice to balance everything out. This place is also nicely decorated! This new cafe has taken over the spot held previously by Sunright Tea. The capybara theme is so random and adorable! The menu is quite limited, just a couple options each for coffee, tea, and matcha. But they just opened so hopefully more will be added! I follow them on Instagram so I saw they posted about an egg coffee which they do not have on the menu at the counter but they said they could make it for us. I chose the Capy Matcha for myself which is their version of a double matcha. The cream was perfect consistency and the matcha flavor was all there. The egg coffee was pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. They had a couple snacks and lots of yummy cookie options. Service was very friendly but they did have a young kid who was working there, which is fine but she was also playing the little claw machine games that we paid for our kids to use. Not a big deal since I'm sure she just wanted to help but maybe a little frustrating for our kids haha. Otherwise the cashier was super nice and they were so kind to give some extra stuffed animal keychains to our kids. Since the menu is so small I don't think I have a reason to come back until they have new drinks so I'll continue to follow along for now! read more

I ordered the matcha latte with boba. The matcha itself was okay -- I've definitely had better, but also worse. The boba, however, was on the firmer side and a bit too chewy for my taste. As you can see in the photos, the pearls were sticking together, which threw off the texture. The café itself is clean, cute, and has a cozy amount of seating. The employees were kind and welcoming, which I appreciated. They do have plenty of great reviews, so it might have just been an off day for the boba. Love the matcha and atmosphere! Super cute and the staff was kind and cozy. I loved the matcha lattes, they weren't too sweet or too diluted with milk like how some cafes tend to do. I made my order and the wait time was like 5 minutes. I ordered the Sea Salt Coffee, a Kouign Amann, and a S'more Cookie. I love strong coffee, and their coffee is STRONG The Salt foam was well done, not too salty but salty enough to taste through the coffee. My kids loved the S'more Cookie! I had a bite, it tasted fresh and delicious. My favorite though had to be their Kouign Amann. It's the best I've had, and I've gone to many fancy bakeries that had mediocre Kouign Amanns. They are perfectly caramelized and flakey! With every bite and every sip, I could not stop commenting on how much I loved their coffee and baked goods. Great combos! Quality matcha and perfect sweetness. I don't like traditionally sweet matcha drinks and prefer the matcha taste to come through. I got the Capy matcha with almond milk and asked for less sweet because I always assume the drink is going to be on the sweeter side but to my surprise the barista said they're not super sweet, and she wasn't lying! it was a perfect matcha, and I enjoyed the "double matcha" latte. We tried the Banana Matcha and Vietnamese Coffee here and they are both surprisingly good! The banana matcha has that creamy and balanced sweetness with a taste of banana. Folsom has been in desperate need of a good matcha spot and Capy totally delivered! It replaced a previous matcha shop that just didn't hit everything tasted watered down and they made their matcha in bulk (no hand whisking), which really took away from the whole experience and flavor. Capy did everything right from the start. The vibe is way more lively and welcoming, plus they added more seating which makes a huge difference. But most importantly the drinks. Their matcha and coffee menu feels really intentional, and they hand whisk every drink to order Only small note my cold foam was a little thinner than I personally prefer. I like it thicker so you can really taste it but they were also pretty busy, so that might've played a part. I really wanted to like this place, so it honestly makes me sad to write this review. A relative had shared Capy Cafe with us on Instagram, and my family was so excited to visit. My kids LOVE capybaras and had been asking to go all week, so we made the 50 minute drive out to Folsom to check it out. While we were there, we ordered four drinks and purchased two capybara snap wristbands. Overall, we spent $56 and were looking forward to a fun experience for the kids. The part that was really disappointing happened at the claw machine. My son wanted to try it, so my husband paid for multiple attempts. After about 10 tries, we didn't win anything. Another child went right after us and also wasn't able to get anything from the machine. At that point, the owner (who had been sitting nearby) went behind the counter, grabbed a box of stuffed animals, and brought it directly to that child, letting them pick a prize. We were sitting right next to them, and our kids had just finished playing the same machine, so naturally my children were confused. They thought maybe it was something being offered to all the kids, but it wasn't. It was only given to that one child. What made this even harder as a parent was how it felt in that moment. Watching the owner walk past my children, who had just had the same experience, and choose to give a prize to another child right in front of them felt hurtful. I hope the owner takes a moment to go back and watch the footage from today. What he may not have noticed was the look on their faces. They were confused and sad, trying to understand why they were being treated differently. As a parent, it was hard not having any explanation for them at all. It left my son especially sad, and I found myself hurting for him. I don't think there was any bad intention, but the lack of awareness in that moment left a really negative impression on us. After driving so far and spending that much $ on drinks, it turned what should have been a fun visit into a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. We had hoped this would be one of our go-to spots when we're in Folsom, but that experience made it hard to come back. read more

First time going here I'm usually in the Folsom/Roseville area and I don't come across really good Matcha. In order for me to go get some good Matcha I have to drive all the way to elk grove or downtown Sac. The place is pretty tiny, but their Matcha is delicious. Definitely recommend their Capy Matcha, also staff is wonderful. If you're a real Matcha drinker, you'll know just by looking at the color of the Matcha that it was absolutely delicious. read more
