I had lunch delivered today from Oki Sushi. It was my first experience with this restaurant, and I was pleased with the food. My order consisted of two items - Hamachi Sashimi and a Triple Tuna Sushi Roll. The Yellow Tail Sashimi was marvelous. The fish was very fresh and flavorful. I would order again. Wow. If I could give less than one star, I would. This must be the least authentic Japanese restaurant in Placer County. In fact there was not one single Asian behind the counter. The food.....OMG if you like mealy sushi rice, mayonnaise based sauce squirted all over your deep fried sushi, this is the place! The seared ahi was full of gristle. The beef teriyaki had almost no sauce on it and was as dry as shoe leather. The Katsu over rice was just that - a dry slab of deep fried panko covered pork with hardly any tonkatsu sauce over rice with zero accompaniments. It took forever to get service because the waitress was too busy dropping dinnerware. And don't let me get started on how she would handle used dirty dishes and then proceed to handle our to be eaten food. No hand washing ever. Disgusting. Despite the table being out in the open, instead of serving each person individually the waitress just handed food and drinks to the person at the end of the table to be passed down the line. The sushi came without ginger or wasabi. When we inquired there was none to be found. It finally showed up after we had all finished eating and the bill was waiting to be paid. We have tried almost every sushi roll on the Oki menu. They have excellent quality food. Best sushi I have personally tried. Some of our favorites are the Lobster, White Lotus, Fiesta, Triple Tuna, Rocklin, Goldenstate and Salmon Lover. The sushi chefs are fun to chat with if you sit at the sushi bar. I always order the bbq albacore when I go for sushi. It's my absolute favorite! I've learned that not all places do it the same and I've come to know my favorite spots to get it. Having said that, the first time I try a new sushi restaurant can be a hit or miss. Am I going to love it or hate it? In this case, on this day it was a huge no for me. I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars because they have a great location in Rocklin next to Green Acres and the customer service was great! I should also mention I was in on a Sunday and I've heard never order fish on a Sunday! The dish was over cooked and just not super fresh. I think it's worth another try and I would have politely gone back but during Covid it's just so awkward. Nice decor with TVs on as well. read more

I was in the area and wanted to try their sushi. I ordered over the phone and ended up pulling up to pay before I receive the order. The gal at the front was really professional and friendly and there were no issues from start to finish. I waited for my order about 15 minutes. While I waited, the atmosphere was really nice as well, even though I was doing takeout. I ordered the Sunshine roll which was so delicious and fresh. The texture and quality was on point for being in the middle of a week, I just wish there was more. I didn't feel full after a roll (that might be just a me problem). Cute little sushi place in the Rocklin Commons shopping center. The interior is dimmed with a modern cultural twist. Not many seating options and I can't imagine a party larger than 6 coming in. It's a really cute space! Ordered the gyozas and a triple tuna roll. They were just fine. No complaints about the food at all! Took off a couple of stars for service and professionalism. Excellent food. The Savage roll is amazing. Deep fried and torched with amazing sauces. I love the Sesame Chicken with rice and gyoza as well. I ate them all so fast the I forgot to take a picture. Will update review with more pics of those later. I am a huge fan of yellow tail and it was excellent as well. My 3 year old daughter loves the miso soup and tofu. My fiancée and I Ate here last Saturday after flying back to the Sacramento airport and stopping by here on our way home to Grass Valley. Never had heard of it but seemed like it was worth a try since the rating was pretty good. Nearly completely empty when we walked in other than one other table. Not the best sign for 8 PM on a Saturday night. Our server took our order and brought us our first round of sushi, which was delicious. After eating the first round, and deciding on a few more items from the menu our server came back with a check at 8:45 PM. When we explained we weren't done eating, and that we would like to order more food, she told us the kitchen was closed I was free to fight the chefs if I had a problem with it. I replied that I had no interest in fighting the chefs and we just wanted to order more sushi. She apologized in a pretty insincere way, and we paid and left. So it took me a while to finally get my son to try sushi, and it only happened because he liked how close this place is to my apartment. They've got a pretty solid menu with all the classics from rolls to sashimi and whatever else most sushi places have. Now I have to admit that I'm something of a sushi novice myself, but they are the best of the Rocklin sushi joints that I've tried. Prices are decent. Everything tastes fresh. And the staff is good. I've been in there when they were a little too packed for the middle of a pandemic, though. Seems like the might wanna space folks out a little bit more. read more

Came here after going to Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and this restaurant was good! Rarely do I ever make the trip to go to Rocklin unless I'm going to Bass Pro Shops and I was impressed by the simplicity of the food and quality. Word of advice: Sushi was always meant to be eaten fresh and my takeout experiences never match the quality of my dining-in experiences. I will visit again when I am in the area. read more

This business is absolutely horrible! If I can give them a zero star I would! We came from out of town excited to eat here. We had our small support dog with us who is very well behaved and trained, when the owner came flying to the reception area and denied us service! We showed her documents that he was a registered service animal and she still said we couldn't enter her establishment. By law a service pet should be allowed because it is part of the ADA regulations, so this restaurant should really look into Americans with Disabilities Act handbook. read more

Ordered twice from this place from doordash. First time was fine, second time my greenie roll looked like this. When I called to complain they said it was because the food heated up the avocado. Unfortunately the menu is not accurate and you'll have to question if the ingredients listed are actually in the roll. We QR'd the menu and right away was excited to see unagi on one of the rolls. Come to find it's not true. Which is fine ; it happens but it was how the manager handled the situation that wasn't good. Instead of this roll they misheard us repeating that instead we wanted the salmon hand roll as was ordered originally (x2) and made a way more expensive roll then had the audacity to charge us for it! The service is what made the food horrible! The sushi was just okay so I'd say if you're looking for a sub-par or mediocre sushi experience go for it! I ordered a bento with katsudon and beef teriyaki, but they may have forgotten to give the katsudon sauce and the teriyaki when my ordered arrived. I asked the server, Trini, if I could get the sauces for the tonkatsu and the beef teriyaki and, I am not sure if she was joking about me paying extra for the sauces, but I showed her my bento. I was expecting at least a drizzle of the sauces on the (apparently dry) meats. She came back with the sauces and did not charge me for them. I thanked her for the accommodation. One word - FANTASTIC! Opted to dine in as I was craving for sashimi. Best decision ever - the sashimi was amazingly fresh and beautifully arranged! The escolar was absolutely delectable Also ordered a deep fried roll, I think it's called Galleria, and it was the best tasting deep fried sushi roll I had compared to other places! The crunch was just right and done to perfection that wasn't overpowering and you can still taste and enjoy the other ingredients. The spider roll was wonderful and I like the perfect balance of ingredients and rice! Staff was friendly and followed safety measures and wearing masks and gloves in serving food. Social distancing protocol was observed and it made me at ease dining in. The decor was so cute and I was admiring their sushi bar in real wood. Can't wait to be back for some more yummy sushi and sashimi and hopefully one day we can sit at the sushi bar :) read more

We thought to try a different sushi place, so I came across Oki Sushi on Yelp. Unfortunately, the 4.? star ratings wasn't accurate (maybe because there was a lower number of patrons that voted). So I thought to offer my thoughts, for others that might try this restaurant. The good things we liked: restaurant's decorum was very nice. Service was good, servers were pleasant. Now the food... My Wife and I were disappointed in their food. It was served quickly, and the presentations on the different plates were ok. But the food was lacking in taste and flavor. And portion sizes (namely their Bento Box), was quite small, especially in comparison to cost (which was a bit more expensive, not out of sight). This Bento Box had little meat (we ordered beef teriyaki), the tempura side came with only one shrimp, and small portion of vegetables, and the side dishes were adequate (soup and salad). (But the little amount that was served, the flavors were less flavorful than typical, nothing striking.) As for the sushi, that too was ok at best, we've had much better. (And we've diined at many different sushi houses over the years.). Next time, we'll revisit Arigato instead... One of our sushi favs! As for their prices, it was comparable to other places. So our poor scoring, is solely against their food. (Food quality was ok, nothing fancy. Portions were very lite. Flavors were lacking.) Again, my Wife and I both suggest... Go to Arigato in Roseville (or try anywhere else)! We hope our poor scoring, will help others from making a similar mistake. read more

Nigiri had great quality fish, we tried the escolar and the salmon toro nigiri special, my husband enjoyed it so much he ordered a 2nd order of salmon toro. As for rolls I enjoyed the Basil Roll.
