I stopped here a few weeks ago with my co-driver before getting back on the road. I had been craving sushi for a while and found Sake Roll & Grill on Google Maps. To start with the positive, the sushi itself was actually solid for an all-you-can-eat spot. AYCE sushi can sometimes be hit or miss, but the rolls and sashimi here were better quality than I expected. We arrived around 8:30 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant closes at 10 PM and the place was still fairly busy with customers. We were greeted kindly by a host with pink hair and seated near the TV across from the sushi station. Service overall was friendly. Where the experience became frustrating was how early the sushi bar shut down. By around 9 PM, every sushi chef had already broken down their stations. I'm talking fully cleaned cases, wiped counters, and the sushi bar basically closed. There were around five to seven sushi chefs working, so it was surprising to see the entire sushi station shut down while customers were still dining. At the very least it would make sense to keep one or two sushi chefs working closer to closing time, or let customers know something like "last call for sushi is at 8:45." We weren't told anything when we walked in. I've spent about 17 years working in kitchens and culinary, and in most restaurants if something is about to be 86'd or is nearing last call, the staff communicates that clearly to the guests. To be fair, the sushi I did receive was good. What I ordered: Miso soup Two crab salads Avocado salad Snapper sashimi Tuna sashimi Tako sashimi Spicy California roll White Tiger roll Spicy tuna roll Crabmeat roll Cucumber roll And yes, I finished everything. My co-driver was honestly surprised I was going to eat all that, but I don't leave food behind. I even had room for another roll or two. The sashimi and rolls were good quality overall. A few pricing things were a little confusing though. Sashimi costs an extra fifty cents per piece while nigiri does not, even though the only difference is the rice. There is also an eighteen percent charge for wasted food plus fifty cents per uneaten piece. I understand discouraging waste, but the combination of those charges felt a bit excessive. The base AYCE price was around twenty-two to twenty-three dollars, which is fair. However the additional charges can stack up quickly. The miso soup was unfortunately the weakest part of the meal. It tasted extremely watered down, almost like plain broth. My total ended up being around thirty-three dollars after tax, which isn't terrible, but the early sushi bar shutdown and lack of communication made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall the sushi quality was solid and I'd still come back again. Just give customers a heads up about last call for sushi and this place would easily be a home run. read more

Most sushi restaurants aim for quiet elegance. Sake Roll & Grill went with giant sports bar television and hoped the sushi would keep up. This place is a little off the beaten path, but the reviews looked promising, so we decided a small sushi road trip was in order. I walked in expecting the usual sushi restaurant vibe. Instead I was greeted by a television so large it could probably pick up signals from space. When I say massive, I mean it takes up an entire wall. Nothing pairs with delicate nigiri quite like a television the size of a drive-in movie screen. The all you can eat menu is a little limited when it comes to rolls, which was a bit surprising. But the nigiri selection was actually pretty strong and, more importantly, surprisingly fresh. Plenty of options and the fish held up well over multiple rounds. The cooked items were also plentiful, which helps if someone in your group is not fully committed to the raw fish lifestyle. Overall, I enjoyed the food. The service, however, moved at a pace that felt very... deliberate. Very, very slow. Slow enough that you start wondering if the rice is being strategically deployed to fill you up before your next order arrives. Still, the food was good and the experience enjoyable enough to land at a slightly above average four stars. Tip: come with extra time and patience. Settle in, watch a good sporting event on that enormous TV, and pack away some pretty solid sushi. Four stars. A little off the beaten path, a little slow on the service, but good sushi and possibly the biggest TV you will ever see in a sushi restaurant. read more

always love coming to sake. it was pretty busy today, but we still were able to put in our order and receive them fairly quickly. i was curious about the soy paper but i definitely won't order it again, the seaweed is much better, especially with the tuna. but it was nice to be able to bite through it easier. the edamame was one of my faves, i always love the texture of the pods. the miso was surprisingly very hot and flavorful today so i ordered two bowls of it. the seaweed salad also was very good. i definitely love coming here, the vibe has always been very nice. thanks again for a great meal, sake! read more

Was looking for all you can eat in chatt and came across this restaurant'. Was super impressed with the quality of sushi and I absolutely loved every moment of it. If you can eat at least four helpings of sushi rolls, this is a great place to visit for their AYCE $15 lunch special. Lingling, MJ, and Ethan were all helpful and friendly during our visit. Our server, Ethan, was attentive and insured we received all of our orders as quickly as possible. The offerings for their AYCE lunch were plentiful, and I enjoyed not only the various sushi rolls but the appetizers, soups, and salads available too, and hibachi! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the White Tiger Roll, Bubba Gump Roll, Avocado Salad, Vegetables Tempura, and Gyoza. All of those were amazing! A few things to note: they offer soy paper wraps instead of seaweed for an additional $1 for each item you order requesting soy paper instead. They charge per pound or piece of sushi that is not eaten, and also charge if you want to take it home. You can order as you go. We ordered 3 items to start, then did a second round, then a third round, and so on. Lastly, if you sit at one of the booth style tables, you won't have much leg room. I believe the tables and building used to be a Korean BBQ restaurant, and the tables remain (minus the top grill being accessible). If you want more leg room, request seating at a table with pull out chairs. In all, very enjoyable visit with great service, a clean and relaxed atmosphere, and DELICIOUS food at an excellent price. It was ok due to the fact that every sushi we ordered would be with cream cheese even tho on the description it didn't say it had any. For example my Alaska roll, I was confused to why it had cream cheese but didn't bother to complain bc we were there to get a quick bite before we head to our destination. Then we got another sushi that wasn't supposed to have cream cheese and once again, it was stuffed with cream cheese. To me, cream cheese doesnt belong in sushi. I came here for my birthday with friends so there were 11 of us total. A friend recommended the place. Let me start by saying it was a Thursday night so it was busy because kids eat free on Thursday. I did make a reservation several days in advance though so they could make arrangements for staff. My initial feeling was one of disappointment because it's not a true hibachi experience. They don't cook in front of you. They just serve hibachi style food, plus sushi. I was also disappointed because the only seating for large groups was at a raised bar, which was uncomfortable for several of my guests due to arthritis and other conditions. They were short staffed due to illness among the employees. Our food came out very slowly, which I can understand due to our party size and how busy it was, however...they mixed up our orders, brought 2nd courses out before 1st, put 2 people's food on one plate, brought out duplicate food so we had too many sushi rolls. It was completely disorganized. We had about 5 extra sushi rolls at the end of the night due to duplicates and mix ups in serving courses. They usually charge for uneaten food, but because it was their mistake they didn't charge us for the food, and they discounted my friend's dinner that they had really mixed up. Overall the food was good and at $22.99 for all you can eat (including sushi) it's a good deal. I'd definitely go back here for all you can eat sushi, but if I want hibachi, I'll go to Fugi or another hibachi place for the real experience. read more

Now I see why this place is always packed. The dishes are tasty with rich flavor. You can not beat the price with that quality of the food, which are fresh, beautifully display, and excellent services. It's not disctintively good but it's really nice for all-you-can-eat package. The seaweed salad and squid salad are delicious, although they taste like those in Sam's club (I hope they don't get it from there lol). Been waiting to try out a yummy sushi place and came across Sake. I haven't been to an "All You Can Eat" sushi restaurant before and wasn't sure what to expect. I like the idea and still wish there was an a la carte option instead of the all you can eat in case you're not very hungry. The young lady who waited on me was friendly and wonderful. I sat at the sushi bar top and was able to watch everything get made. I enjoyed my specialty sushi roll, miso soup and edamame, I didn't enjoy the tempura shrimp because they were severely overcooked and dry and the yellowfin sashimi smelled like it had been sitting too long in the case. They also do not have real crab but don't list it on the menu, all of it is imitation. This is where I was really bothered, I watched one of the chefs cut up watermelon slices for the employees (without gloves) which isn't the problem, but he began to eat it in the prep area and then spit seeds into his hands to throw them away. After that, he uses one of the sushi knives (that is used by him and other chefs) to cut up more. The amount of cross contamination I saw was upsetting. After, he kind of washed his hands, puts on gloves to continue prep but the knife handle is never cleaned and that touches the food served to guests. Because there appears to be a lack of cleanliness and awareness, I will not be coming back. If you still want to check it out, I recommend a specialty roll. read more

This is our all time favorite sushi place here in Chattanooga. I'm usually picky about sushi because I moved here from Florida, but their rolls are always so fresh tasting and they're great quality! I am always a little skeptical of all you can eat but you can tell they don't skimp on quality here, or quantity! Service is usually pretty quick too. I have found my new go to lunch. The open concept seating area and upbeat music make it fun and relaxing. For $15, you get to order as much sushi, hibachi, appetizers, soup, and salad you can eat. You do not wait in a line at a buffet. Your food is delivered to your table fresh and hot. It is more expensive at dinner and you will be charged extra for wasted food. Order only what you can eat. If you're still hungry, you can order more. The service was fast and friendly too. I ordered the shrimp and steak hibachi, fried dumplings, and 2 specialty rolls. I can't remember their names but they had jalapeños and were supposed to be spicy, but they weren't. The shrimp and steak were good quality and cooked tender. We were excited to try a new spot that came with such good ratings. However the service was absolutely terrible! We came in for an early dinner around 4:30pm on a Tuesday night. There were maybe 3 other groups of people seated so the place was not crowded whatsoever. We were sat and asked if we ever ate there before which we replied "No, it's our first time here" and the servers threw the menus and pencils on the table and walked away. After reading the menu, we were still unsure how it worked so we proceeded to ask the server to explain and it was like they didn't understand the process themselves and couldn't provide us clarity. The three of us ordered on separate papers as we were instructed and when the food came, items were missing or mixed up. We didn't complain because we were all open to trying what was brought. However, my fiancée felt ill after eating a few pieces of yellowtail nigiri. Not to mention the fact that it's an all you can eat place which is typically one price for everything, but then there are up-charges for most of the menu items. After receiving our last ordered rolls, we waited a good 30 minutes for a server to come and give us our check. They had passed our table quite a few times to assist other guests but never checked on us once. Was hoping to make this a new go to spot but it's sad to say I don't plan on visiting again. Management tries to turn business away 1 to 1.5 hours before closing. Shuts half the restaurant down 2 hours before closing. Has an attitude about people coming into the restaurant within the hour to hour and half close window. The portion size of the food has shrank since we've began eating here. My hibachi came out not even room temperature during my last visit. Service is about the only reason to eat here anymore. I went in on May 9th, 2025, at exactly 9:21pm and the server turned me away from sitting and eating. She said they did not sit customers to eat anymore at that time. I checked the website, and they close at 10pm. I could have eaten and left in plenty of time. I feel like the server was being lazy and was not interested in making money. It was WAY TOO early to be turning customers away. She should be fired and you should hire people who actually want to work. read more

This place is very good. I went in with moderate to low expectations and walked away knowing I'll return. The hibachi was as good as I've had. And the crab Rangoon were so good! Delish ginger dressing- the sushi is also excellent. The serving sizes are smart too- like you get enough of everything but they're small enough you can do lots of sampling. (You get charged for food not eaten so bit of strategy comes in on what to order in your party). Our server was great and they've really made the inside look clean and modern.
