Managers Special with Side Miso Soup and Salad

Great hole in the wall spot with large portions. The value here is unmatched across Chatt and the service is quick. This is a go to spot when I want leftovers with simple ingredients.

Located in the Aldi shopping area, there is plenty of parking. Some is adjacent to the building, but most spaces are across a traffic lane. There is handicapped parking, but you may need to cross a traffic lane depending on what spaces are open. Walking in, there is a small anteroom, then a small waiting area. Continue walking to the rear for the counter where you order. There is also another seated waiting area next to the counter. There is a large menu on the wall behind the counter as well as paper menus next to the cash register. Seating is to the right and looked to be about half full. It was a mix of booths and tables. We did a walk in for a take out order. The waitress/ cashier/ manager took our order and helped us through the menu. She also pointed out the manager's special. I wound up ordering that and my dining partner selected from the regular menu. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes. Our actual wait was about 25 minutes. Not bad for a weekend evening. The hibachi chicken was quite good. The chicken was plentiful and tasted good. It was a little dry, but nothing a bit of sauce could not rectify. Under the pile of chicken was the vegetable medley. The veggies were very good. They were soft but not mushy. The fried rice was also done well. It had a few peas and small carrot pieces as well as small pieces of egg. My dining partner selected the NY strip steak with noodles instead of rice. The meat was cooked to her preferred rare. It was very good and flavorful. The same veggie medley was under the meat. The noodles were cooked properly al dente. The noodles had pieces of carrot, onion, and broccoli included. Everything tasted good. Overall, this hibachi place offers a nice meal for a good price.

Steak, chicken, and shrimp hibachi dinner!

Visiting the area on business and stopped with a coworker. Very friendly atmosphere. Quick to get your order ready, and the food. Wow. Huge portions and taste great. I picked the chicken, steak, and shrimp hibachi shown in the picture. The steak almost melts as you chew it. Easily 2 meals for me.

Chicken Hibachi - the portions are gigantic!

Want a decent Hibachi without sitting down for "the show" in Hixson, TN? Soho Hibachi serves up large portions at a very reasonable price. I ordered the standard chicken which came with fried rice and veggies. We also added spring rolls. The dinner was only $9 and the spring rolls $1.50 for 2 I believe. The spring rolls weren't great but for that price I made a dip and dunked those puppies. The hibachi chicken was dry but the veggies and rice were good and the portions? HUGE. Lots of sauce helps the chicken. My order was "to-go" with plenty of parking. Inexpensive Asian on the fly, can't beat it.

    This is it!

Great little snack today! I had the miso soup and edamame. My partner had the chicken subhuman. It was all good, as always. Fair prices, fast service, and delicious food! The restaurant interior isn't anything to brag about, it's okay.

The veggies used to be cooked properly, but over the last year they have changed to over cooked and mushy pretty much all of the time. I couldn't tell you how the noodles are recently, as we gave up ordering them a couple years ago since they are never fresh unless you get them right when they open. It's like they only make one batch a day. The staff have started to explicitly point out the tip section and were really pressuring us by pointing out the 20% "or custom if you want to go higher". This really left a bad taste in my mouth, as I tip at the table after service. Besides this is really a fast food restaurant, the ordering and receiving is the same as a Chick-fil-A and McDonald's. You order at the counter, get your own drink and refills, and pickup your utensils, napkins and sauces then seat yourself. When you're done you clean up afer yourself. Goodbye Little Tokyo. You were good, but I can't keep buying your food just to toss in the trash everything but the rice.

Most sushi restaurants aim for quiet elegance. Sake Roll &…read moreGrill went with giant sports bar television and hoped the sushi would keep up. This place is a little off the beaten path, but the reviews looked promising, so we decided a small sushi road trip was in order. I walked in expecting the usual sushi restaurant vibe. Instead I was greeted by a television so large it could probably pick up signals from space. When I say massive, I mean it takes up an entire wall. Nothing pairs with delicate nigiri quite like a television the size of a drive-in movie screen. The all you can eat menu is a little limited when it comes to rolls, which was a bit surprising. But the nigiri selection was actually pretty strong and, more importantly, surprisingly fresh. Plenty of options and the fish held up well over multiple rounds. The cooked items were also plentiful, which helps if someone in your group is not fully committed to the raw fish lifestyle. Overall, I enjoyed the food. The service, however, moved at a pace that felt very... deliberate. Very, very slow. Slow enough that you start wondering if the rice is being strategically deployed to fill you up before your next order arrives. Still, the food was good and the experience enjoyable enough to land at a slightly above average four stars. Tip: come with extra time and patience. Settle in, watch a good sporting event on that enormous TV, and pack away some pretty solid sushi. Four stars. A little off the beaten path, a little slow on the service, but good sushi and possibly the biggest TV you will ever see in a sushi restaurant.

I stopped here a few weeks ago with my co-driver before getting back on the road. I had been…read morecraving sushi for a while and found Sake Roll & Grill on Google Maps. To start with the positive, the sushi itself was actually solid for an all-you-can-eat spot. AYCE sushi can sometimes be hit or miss, but the rolls and sashimi here were better quality than I expected. We arrived around 8:30 PM on a Sunday. The restaurant closes at 10 PM and the place was still fairly busy with customers. We were greeted kindly by a host with pink hair and seated near the TV across from the sushi station. Service overall was friendly. Where the experience became frustrating was how early the sushi bar shut down. By around 9 PM, every sushi chef had already broken down their stations. I'm talking fully cleaned cases, wiped counters, and the sushi bar basically closed. There were around five to seven sushi chefs working, so it was surprising to see the entire sushi station shut down while customers were still dining. At the very least it would make sense to keep one or two sushi chefs working closer to closing time, or let customers know something like "last call for sushi is at 8:45." We weren't told anything when we walked in. I've spent about 17 years working in kitchens and culinary, and in most restaurants if something is about to be 86'd or is nearing last call, the staff communicates that clearly to the guests. To be fair, the sushi I did receive was good. What I ordered: Miso soup Two crab salads Avocado salad Snapper sashimi Tuna sashimi Tako sashimi Spicy California roll White Tiger roll Spicy tuna roll Crabmeat roll Cucumber roll And yes, I finished everything. My co-driver was honestly surprised I was going to eat all that, but I don't leave food behind. I even had room for another roll or two. The sashimi and rolls were good quality overall. A few pricing things were a little confusing though. Sashimi costs an extra fifty cents per piece while nigiri does not, even though the only difference is the rice. There is also an eighteen percent charge for wasted food plus fifty cents per uneaten piece. I understand discouraging waste, but the combination of those charges felt a bit excessive. The base AYCE price was around twenty-two to twenty-three dollars, which is fair. However the additional charges can stack up quickly. The miso soup was unfortunately the weakest part of the meal. It tasted extremely watered down, almost like plain broth. My total ended up being around thirty-three dollars after tax, which isn't terrible, but the early sushi bar shutdown and lack of communication made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Overall the sushi quality was solid and I'd still come back again. Just give customers a heads up about last call for sushi and this place would easily be a home run.

The overall parking area is tight, so be cautious as you select your space. Walking in, the area is bright and clean. The ordering counter is directly in front with a large menu on the wall overhead. There is also a kiosk to place your order, although the server said I could also order from him. That is what I wound up doing, although I did see several subsequent customers use the kiosk. It did not look like they were having any trouble, so that would seem to be a viable option. The restaurant was over half full and there were several take out orders picked up while I was waiting. The pickup point is on the end of the counter to the right. My food took about 15 minutes to arrive. It was very well packaged. The Atlantic and Shogun poke bowls were both excellent. The base rice seemed to be the same between the dishes and was a solid base to build on. The additional ingredients were all fresh and flavorful. The salmon and tuna were fresh and plentiful. My dining partner and I both were surprised at how filling the bowls were and we each had unexpected leftovers. Overall, Ichi Ramen is an excellent addition to the Hixson restaurant options.
