Expecting this to be a greasy Chinese take-out spot for seldom occasions; I was thrilled to discover an offering of Japanese/sushi, Thai & Chinese cuisine! So wonderful! More fresh options, vegetarian options, and a nice ambiance should you choose to dine in. As I ordered the first time, I enjoyed a sesame chicken entrée, which was soft and delicious. The broccoli (tho I wished more) was steamed/crisp to perfection, not mush. And most importantly, the fried rice was wonderful and did not contain peas which would destroy me. I was actually really surprised that the sushi was so good here. I didn't go there for sushi in the first place, but when I saw their extensive sushi menu, I decided to try it. Everything I had was really good. It was presented nicely and the rolls were really big for the money. I will definitely go back. My husband also really liked his Teppanyaki. Ordered from Rice Box through DoorDash. I ordered the 2 roll combo and got the Philadelphia Roll and Crazy Couple Roll. It also came with a salad and a choice of soup. I chose miso. Rice Box has consistently been one of my favorite places to eat in Chattanooga. I just moved to the Red Bank area and was thrilled when I realized how close I live to this restaurant because it's that good! When I went to pick up my food, the inside of the restaurant was empty and the woman working at the register was very friendly when she gave me my food. Both rolls were delicious and I LOVE the dressing that comes alongside the salad. I will be coming back to Rice Box very soon. They are the best!! read more

If your like me, + still looking for decent Asian food in our area, this may be just what the Doctor ordered. Among other favorites, they have "Stir Fry" dishes, a combo of protein/veggies/Carbs... lunch size ($11) and dinner size $15/16, which is really enough for two meals. You can choose mild to very spicy. It's also 'sit down' style, where you're served by a waitstaff, not just take out. Very delicious. I got the tofu Pad Thai and and my husband got cashew chicken. The dinner portions were nice and big. It's not cheap for us but you definitely get the food you pay for in size and quality. The service was nice too. Definitely will be going back! We went again! Ordered as we were chaperoning a sleepover and wanted to treat ourselves too. The hot pot dish was amazing highly recommend if you want something that feeds the body with good food. Speaking as someone who misses the goodness of Chicago's China town, this is a legit setup, slightly Americanized but with a good dose of traditional flavor and recipes. The dumplings (all the dumplings, in every form) are addictive. The fried rice and Lo mein are flavorful. The fried dishes are still crisp under the sauce, not the soggy mess you usually see from ... well, places a long way from any China town. The meat used is a cut above, including the seafood. I haven't tried every Asian place in Chattanooga (yet) but thus far this blows the other away for reasonable takeout. Finally: the service is great for pickup. They look like a hermetically sealed viral response unit behind their Covid screens, but they're very kind and prompt as they serve you steaming deliciousness through the bank teller drawer. read more

I was really happy to get a fresh vegetable dish with a LIGHT amount of garlic sauce. The portions were a nice size and not too much but they charge $12.50 for it. So for many, that would seem a rip off. I'd rather have a average portion of good food than a trough full of crappy fusion. read more

Rice Boxx is our go to quick meal when we want to get food on a Friday night but we just want take out. Fast, fairly priced and always good!

Rice Box is a nice little place with good food, good service, and good prices. The wait staff is always helpful and friendly and while I've never gotten anything other than appetizers and sushi here before, it's never disappointed. I can't say it's outstanding but I've been here a handful of times and the food always consistent, comes quick, and the presentation is always great. read more

Granted, I came from a large city with authentic Asian food; but this was so bad I have to warn others. 5 different entrees were so bad, we threw them away after a few bites. I threw away over $100 for our meal and I'd rather eat the monetary loss over the food. I had low expectations going into the meal but I was overwhelmed with how bad this was. I paid $72 for takeout. Everything tasted like it had been cooked hours before and left to sit out. The crab Rangoon was old and nasty, I took it back for a refund. This place was recommended by a friend so I thought I would give it a try. I had a child with crutches with me and she fell going into the place because the floors were slick, she was ok though. We split a chicken teriyaki plate with veggies. When it came out it looked very good but a very small amount of rice was given for the price so had to pay another $2.50 for another small portion. The owner of the Asian Market across the street told us it was his favorite sushi so we knew we had to come. We absolutely loved it. Definitely the best in town. Service was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. That is a delicate balance. Decor was inviting and clean. Place does not look impressive from the outside but a nice surprise. I went to Rice Box with my mom last Saturday night, and it was all right, but nothing special. I'm always suspicious of fusion places, and Rice Box's menu has Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes included. I went with an old classic - pineapple fried rice with chicken. The rice itself was okay. The pineapple hadn't been fried with the rice, so it was pale and cold. The dish would have been improved if they had cooked the pineapple with the rice (and maybe even used some of the juice from the can, because it was definitely canned pineapple). The best part of the dish were the fried cashews. The chicken was so dry that I made myself eat a few pieces and then ignored the rest. So, yeah, not a great dish. But not a dish I hated either. My mom is vegan, so she got their hibachi tofu, which is what she always orders (and she enjoys it). They served both of our dishes with a strange sauce on the side - it was the color of Japanese spicy mayo but the consistency of soy sauce. It was strange, and I didn't see why it was served with my pineapple fried rice. My mom is obsessed with it. I ordered green tea, which was actually really great (real tea leaves in the pot).
