I really gave it two stars because of the yellow curry which is usually super good however I always take it to go. I dined in this time and the yellow curry actually all of the curries were sweet as hell which isn't usually how they make it. Me and my sisters were fine with the sweetness but my friend didn't like it at all, she got the beef yellow curry. The beef was really dry, and it was super sweet. She decided not to eat it at all, literally took a taste of the broth and a nibble of the beef. We asked our waitress if the manager could come over. Mike, the manager was so rude about it. He said we were "Trying things" on the menu and this isn't the place for samples and it kind of confused me because it's not like we sent everything back that we were eating. And he brought out a sheet with their policy On no refunds for food, just rude and weird. Overall we still paid for it since that's what his problem was. But I'll never be back after that. When it came time to pay, I noticed a hidden fee and asked about it. "Oh it's for the credit card". I told him that was sketchy and he said "That's all I'm going to say about that". My favorite place for quick - to go - sushi. Their location is very convenient to my office (about a 5 minute drive), where there is ample amount of parking. They are located in a strip mall which provides great amount of parking for all to park in. From the looks of the outside of the restaurant, one may be hesitant to go further, however, once you enter through the doors, you are transformed into a much nicer looking restaurant with a FULL, top shelf lounge / bar area with televisions, high tables, booths and bar seating. On the other side is their restaurant location, where they provide plenty of seating, booths as well as tables. Their lunch specials that they offer are great priced! you can get 3 rolls, soup and salad for only $12.00! Typically I get the same 3 rolls - Tuna Roll, Salmon Roll and shrimp tempura roll. with miso soup and salad with ginger dressing. Recently, I took a 'to go' order on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised with a BOGO! (buy one, get one free) - which ever roll is lesser. I was able to try the rainbow and firecracker rolls. Because of their higher prices, I would go in a group and eat family style to try out more dishes and get a better deal. I only had the chance to try two of their menu items: the Caterpillar Roll ($16) and the Samurai Roll ($16) which were in a BOGO deal so I ended up paying $16 for two rolls. The Caterpillar Roll was my favorite since I love eel in sushi! It had eel, cucumber, scallops, masago, avocado with eel and shrimp sauce. It was unique and also delicious so I'd definitely order the Caterpillar Roll if you're an eel fan like me. The Samurai Roll which was a deep fried roll with salmon, eel, white tuna, jalapeño, and creamed cheese. I personally felt it was a weird combination of flavors but still decent. I think it's good quality and I can understand why someone would enjoy it. The service was okay, the waiter was not super attentive but we went during a busy time so that is understandable. Overall, I feel like some of the prices of the entrees and sushi are a bit expensive for the quantity and quality of the food, but it was still an enjoyable experience. This place has taken the top spot as best sushi / asian fusion place over from Shiki Sushi, who held the prize for several years while I was in college. Like the Shiki of old, this restaurant has a hip and trendy vibe inside, with dark and glossy interior, great for a Saturday night date night or out with the girls. The cocktail list is extensive, and they've got beer and wine specials nightly. But where it shines is the curries and the sushi! BOGO sushi is pretty much standard, nay, required here in the Triangle, so I don't advise you to get excited over it. However, their sushi rolls here are delicious, varied, and not everything is deep fried or filled with cream cheese. Presentation is always excellent, the combination of flavors are tasty, and two rolls is really all you need to be full. For those not in the mood for sushi, their appetizers and curries are delicious! Unlike Shiki, whose prices have sky-rocketed and their food has become sugary and watered down, the flavors in the green, red, and Massaman curries are subtle, well-balanced, and more authentic than putting broccoli in everything. Additionally, they've got a Vietnamese section of the menu that's quite good, though I haven't fully explored it. There's even some flavorful lamb dishes. The Hibachi section is standard fare for the non-adventurous, although the quality is certainly high. And there's some amazing whole fried fish dish I keep seeing go out that smells incredible and one day I hope I'm brave enough to try. This place is close to my work place and I can say it's just another Thai restaurant which is neither extraordinary nor that bad to rule out. Ambience is good with semi fine dine like experience and quick serving time provided it's not too crowded. Their drunken noodles are hit and miss. Sometimes it's bland and sometimes it's spicy with the same spice level ordered. Red curry is okay but there are better options nearby. I would say the best they have is Sushi rolls with good variety. As many other places, they always have Buy one get one lunch special for all Sushi rolls. Came here for dinner on a weeknight and sat st the bar - good service. Favorite thing ordered was the appetizer - hamachi on Fire. Good flavor, fish was tasty and had a crispy edge with the fried onions on top. Everything else was just so-so. We did the bogo sushi - it is probably the best of the bogo sushi in the Durham area. We also got two curries - roti canai and de xao lan (spicy goat curry). I had heard both were fantastic here so this may have been an off day but both sauces were too sweet and honestly tasted as if made from the same exact sauce. We didn't finish either dish. This place is really good! We're always on the lookout for pho and with many places closed at the moment we tried something farther away and I'm glad we did. The pho is delicious and generous with lots of toppings and always professionally packaged which is important since we're now having food delivered. The Tom Yum soup was also good and a bargain at $5. The summer rolls are tasty and can be made vegetarian which is a plus since I don't eat shrimp or pork. They have a really good selection of Thai stir fries and curries as well. If someone in your group doesn't like Thai, no worries as there are traditional Chinese dishes as well. It's definitely worthwhile to try since the only decent pho place in chapel hill is Pho Happiness and they are operating on limited hours. You definitely get your money's worth here. read more

I ate a piece of one of the Scary Spider roll and it had a weird fishy taste. I look inside the other pieces of sushi and see some dark meat that is not mentioned in description and upon further inspection, it's an old, spoiled piece of shrimp (seen on the right). It smelled off too. The things that's upsetting is that it was in every piece of sushi for that roll so just a waste of money since I couldn't eat it. My friends and I came here after being lured in by BOGO sushi. After opening the menu, I was surprised by the amount of Asian fusion they had going on. They seem to be low key Vietnamese based on the sheer amount of Viet dishes on the menu. It was a Saturday night, but they had a lot of empty tables. I should have taken that as a warning, but I ordered the Red Dragon Roll and the Rainbow Roll. Compared to my friend's, mine looked alright. His were bigger than any sushi roll (or even kimbap) that I'd ever seen, making it nigh impossible to eat with chopsticks. He used his hands while I ate my normal sized, well rolled ones. The sushi itself was okay, but not great. Something about the rice seemed off. Maybe old? I couldn't put my finger on it. I am so irritated right now, I just had the worst experience with take out ever. Let's start at the initial call, the lady who answered the phone was rude let's start there. I ordered shrimp green curry I asked if I could substitute the bell peppers for bamboo shoots. She replied it would cost $1, mind you I didn't have a problem substituting when I ordered food through Uber eats at the same place. I went down to pick up my order. I asked the hostess if I can get soy sauce, ginger and spicy mayo. She says ok, so I get the bill and she charges me $1.50. Didn't tell me it cost for the sauce that I thought was complimentary with SUSHI! At this point I just want to get to my house I'm looking crazy and I just wanted to pick up and go. So I didn't even argue I just paid and left. I open up my food and soy sauce is everywhere. I'm really disappointed and annoyed.I hate when restaurants charge for small things you would get if you were dining in, seems like a rip off and a poor way to make money. Beware of extra unnecessary charges and rude customer service Food: the green Thai curry is the best thing that I ordered. We are huge fans of Bulgogi but it hasnt come with the sauce either time even when I asked for extra the last time I ordered. "Asian fusion plus sushi" Just tried this new place nestled in the shopping center on University Dr. behind Target & Sam's Club-- quite a diverse menu ranging from various sushi (BOGO, though today was 50% off all rolls), hibachi meals, curries, pad thai, pad see ewe, etc. Most entrees are in the $10-20 range, so reasonable while not "cheap" per se. "Classic hibachi meals" are probably the best deal, at $10 for the entree with tofu (slightly more with meats) and choice of miso soup or salad. Pluses: + Every dish we tried was good-- miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, seaweed salad, sweet & sour chicken, Vietnamese lemongrass tofu hibachi, and a few sushi rolls. Nothing was "knock-your-socks-off-awesome", but every dish was quite good. + Slightly upscale atmosphere. Restaurant was well-lit, with a separated area for the bar vs. regular seating and sushi. Cloth napkins, cloth tablecloths, and nice chopsticks (not the usual giant-toothpicks that come as one piece you break apart). TV in sushi area detracted slightly from this, but at least it was very quiet. + Good portion size. The classic hibachi meal would have been plenty of food for me by itself. + Very attentive service (but see below)-- none of our water glasses ever got below half-full, and we got our foods remarkably fast. Manager came to check on us. Minuses: - Server definitely meant well, but visited the table too frequently and would hover when we were trying to subtly hint we don't need help. - Surprisingly hard seats in booth-- not much cushioning there... - No real "kids meals", but it doesn't seem like a place that would intentionally draw in kids. Synopsis: A good place-- definitely somewhere I can imagine going for a work-related lunch or dinner with a visitor. I enjoyed everything I had, but was not "wow'ed" about any of it. Given the range of dishes and the price-range, I would have preferred it if one dish really blew me away. This may be my personal fault for not being a huge fan of upscale Asian fusion restaurants, but personally, I feel happier after leaving less-fancy and cheaper places, like Pad Thai or even Chai's, or just going to a sushi restaurant if for sushi.
