The food was lackluster and it honestly felt like a waste of money. The bon hue was frankly overpriced and dripping with oil while the pho was very oddly sweet. Also, it was quite loud despite the fact that the restaurant was empty with a child and an adult watching from their iPads. My hubby and I love this place! The girl that always serves us is super sweet and always makes sure we have water on the table.The taste of the food has been consistent. I would say I come here every or every other weekend for the past 5 months. The decor is nice, the music is not too loud but can get repetitive. I did have one mediocre service experience but considering all the other times were awesome I think this is still a great place. I've been to so many Vietnamese restaurants and this one has been by far the best. The brisket pho is so good. The meat is so tender, and the grilled chicken Bahn mi is so good. The food was so tasteless. I ordered a pork bahn mi sandwich and it was so hard and dry. I don't know why the pork was ultra red but it was dry and also had no flavor. I ordered a chicken plate for my daughter and the rice was also dry and semi hard, the chicken I don't understand why it had a red dye or sauce but it wasn't good. This is my second visit and after my first I knew I was returning to experience another dish and I was excited to visit again. On my first visit I had ordered a large Wonton Soup with Egg Noodle which was delicious and I also wanted to try the Vietnamese sandwiches so I ordered two to go and no I didn't eat them on the way home.. haha!! Todays experience is a great plate of Pad Thai rice noodle Combo with chicken, pork, beef and shrimp and let me tell you it is so good that I had to stop just to review them here. Just swung by this place to get my dinner on, and because I was starving. Sat down picked up some menus and looked over the options. They have it all, pho, rice and many noodle dishes. Table ordered a R2, R3, and N9. Food orders taken and the owner lady who took my order mentioned I'd have a 10 min wait longer than others at the table, I was fine with it. She actually ended up bringing it out the same time as R2's. Said she'd cooked it extra fast just for me, I feel so special!! Everyone agreed the meats and seasonings hit just the spot with great selection, dessert and even boba drinks if desired. Wifi offerings here as well should you need to get some internet going. Lime in waters was a great touch and utensils all at the table along side a great condiment selection makes me happy. Love it! read more

A little more than the pho places down in Asia Town (Bellaire Blvd) and more than other Pho places up North. But I think it's worth the price. Their Small Bowls is equivalent to a Large bowl at a typical pho place, and their Large Bowl is equivalent to an XL bowl. Not only is the bowl big, but they packed that bowl up! It's a total bang for the buck! 3. Ambiance - Mom and Pop, hole-in-the-wall type place. Cozy Ambiance. Dress code is casual. 4. Food - This is a hidden gem! You cannot find pho this good up North. My wife and I came here for the first time based on family referral. For our appetizer, we had the "Beef Lemon Grass Spring Rolls", she had the "White Chicken Breast Pho", and I had the "Beef Eye Round & Meatball Pho". The Beef in the Spring Rolls were extremely tasty, WOW! What makes a good bowl of pho is their broth. You can tell that it's authentic and I think one of the best pho I have ever had. Dropped in for the first time after driving by here more times than I can count. It was during lunch and they were busy. Only one lady was waiting on tables, serving and cleaning. On top of that the air conditioning was not up to par. Regardless, the food was worth the stop! I had a Vietnamese beef and lemon grass sandwich. I could have ate two. My wife had beef eye Pho. It was as good as any we have had. As an appetizer we had a couple of spring rolls. They were fresh, tasty and nice size. Love Pho! Have it everywhere, this place is good but I'll never return. The woman at the check out was so rude I actually thought she was joking.. I asked for extra lime, she told me they give enough with the pho. I wasn't asking for input on how I like to eat my pho I just wanted extra lime. I asked again , she says that I would pay extra. Reviewing macarons. Visiting the Tomball/N Houston area, looking for macarons to give as a gift to a local. Thanks be to Yelpers, I located this spot not far off my route of travel. The macarons are $2 each. No fancy packaging; just fresh, lively flavors that made me finally understand why some people go bananas for the macaron (I usually feel pretty meh about them). Only a few standard flavors available. Raspberry (framboise) and lemon (citron) were like eating happiness. I was able to deliver the coveted desert and the intel where more could be found - in a completely unassuming spot in Tomball. Look forward to trying their food next time I'm in the area. read more

According to Google maps, it's been 9 months since we last dined here. There were 5 of us on this occasion. My wife, her parents, my foodie guru Nick & myself . We shared a couple of appetizers. The Vietnamese egg rolls (fried nice & crisp, served with a savory dipping sauce) & the fried wonton (these had an odd filling but the dipping sauce was tasty). Also, on our last trip, we arrived rather late in the day & they had already sold out of the banh mi bread. Luckily today, that was not the case. I was able to order the grilled beef banh mi. This sammich was terrific. I added some hoisin sauce & it was even better! In addition to the sandwich, I got a side of French fries. They were fried perfect & had a good amount of salt. My wife chose a bowl of pho (Menu item P2), she was glad that it had a good amount of of beef, lots of noodles, and the broth was tasty. My MIL & her fiancé split a bowl of pho (Menu item P9) & the CA6, which is a vegetable combo with beef, shrimp, and chicken served with fried rice, uncharge from white rice. They didn't seem impressed with the soup but LOVED the combo platter. Our friend Nick decided on the wonton soup (Menu item W2). The dumplings had shrimp and pork in them, pretty good egg noodles and broth. He says he definitely liked their pho better. While the food was PHOnomenal, the service left a lot to be desired. Last time we were here the owner's son waited on us and he showed passion and pride in the restaurant. We too came because of the reviews and we were in the area. I had the F11 combo and my friend had the N9. If I had to base the entire review on my dish I'd probably not give it such a high review. The reason is, I can tell it was good for what it was, but it wasn't my type of dish. But, here's the thing.. the other food was REALLY GOOD. The shrimp was super fresh, and the vermicelli with the egg roll had a lot of flavor. I could take or leave the peanut sauce with the egg rolls, but they were super fresh and tasty too. For desert we had the in-house made Macarons. Holy moly they were SO good. We spoke with the owner for a bit and she told us she brings in the ingredients from Paris (France, not TX!) as that's where she learned her pastry skills and feels those ingredients make it taste the best. I must agree. Get the vanilla and raspberry!!! Adding to the experience was the music. It made us chuckle, it was like 1950s era epic movie music. Loved it! The final thing I want to mention is the few minutes we spoke with the owner. She told us a bit about her and her husband, their back story and about the family owned business. Genuinely nice, kind people. That's super rare and hard to find these days. Pay them a visit in their restaurant and enjoy the food and conversation. It's worth the drive. Here's my final word. I was going to leave 4 stars for the food, but I'm adding a star because of the atmosphere and the genuine niceness of the owners. It was really like talking with friends. Go see them. read more

We just love 'em! We love Vietnamese food and seek to enjoy it wherever we go. We do this at a minimum of once each month; three times in a good week! :) The food is great. Period. If I want better service I know where to find that too. The only problem is that the others don't cook the food to the level I desire. YES: I love the service at Kim Son! YES: I think a great bowl of Pho' can be found at Tau Bay! What about the flavor and desirability of the FOOD that I'm eating? Am I going out to eat to get my car valet parked or do I want a well prepared meal that satisfies my pallet? Every time we set foot into a new Vietnamese restaurant we are seeking to find one that can dethrone Siagon Pho'. Twelve years later, we're still searching. (Note: Siagon Pho' dethroned our previous "#1" four years ago.) I do see that some reviews are not favorable and I get the fact that bad days happen. I'll say this and I'll be through. We've been to no less than 40 different Vietnamese restaurants in the past six years. There is something really magical when you compare all the others to "the one." read more

I came here about a year ago to try a Viet sandwich and it was delicious. I went again today thinking i would be getting the same sandwich. They added way too much sauce on the meat and it didn't even taste or look like grilled beef. It was honestly very disgusting i had to spit it out. The manager said "no you're wrong" when i mentioned the sandwich tasted bad. So much for customer service. On top of that i heard her talking vulgar words in the kitchen. I guess she thought i wouldn't understand but that was really disappointing. Im never one to be picky but that sandwich was 0/10. And the vibe was ruined. Just had the best Vietnamese food ever. So glad we saw the macaroons pictured on the yelp page and let that decide over the other area phô places. At first bite my wife and I both commented on the freshest spring rolls we have ever tasted. A little looser wrap, clearly fresh rice paper and lettuce that screamed crisp. You could tell - and it was confirmed - that they make these at order unlike other places where they have been sitting. Pho was amazing. I had the Ga and the white mean chicken was thinly sliced and tender. The broth is killer. My wife had the flank steak, tendon, beef rare pho and claimed it to be the best she has eaten and she is big on the authentic items like tendon. We eat vietnamese a lot and this was our second pho night out. This beats everything from the downtown and china town/mid town places to the bellaire area spots. To top it off the Vietnamese coffee was great. Desert options with the French bakery are plentiful. The silver dollar size petite fours, mini pastries, cheesecakes and eclairs made me think of standing in a Godiva shop with too many choices. The macaroons are half the price of what you are paying around town at places like Sweets. read more

We visited Saigon Pho today for lunch, since it was so close to Tomball Regional Medical Center (Break from visiting my dad in the hospital), plus they had 4 1/2 star on Yelp. I ordered the Lemongrass Beef with Vermicelli Noodle. When my dish arrived, the noodles were soaked from the sauce of the lemongrass beef, which made the whole dish too salty to eat. I asked if I could get replacement noodles and they rudely said it would cost me an additional $2.99. So instead of noodles, I asked for extra vegetables (lettuce), in which again they rudely said it would be an additional cost as well. I kindly refused because I don't think I need to pay additional money to make the dish edible, so I did not eat the dish. Upon paying for our meal, they took my money and did not say anything. I am in the hospitality field and I have never frequented a restaurant that I had such rude service. Especially one that has 4 1/2 stars on yelp. I came here because of the great reviews and there aren't any good pho places around the Tomball area. So my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try. Food: We ordered the lemon grass beef spring roll for our appetizer and ordered the pho because it was cold outside. -lemon grass beef spring roll (5/5): Amazing. The spring rolls were huge so it only came with 2. The lemon grass beef was so flavorful and soft, the vegetables tasted fresh, and it was paired perfectly with the peanut sauce. Apparently this is a new item on their menu that they just added! I'd come back for this. Highly recommend. -pho (3/5): It wasn't as great as how the other reviews hyped it out to be. The broth was bland. My boyfriend and I liked some of the meats though. The brisket was good but the eye round wasn't tasteful. My boyfriend loved the beef tendon because it was soft and it wasn't too chewy. Service (5/5): We were greeted with a warm welcome from the server (cashier) when my boyfriend and I came in. He was very friendly! The rest of the staff seemed nice too. I gave this place a 4/5 because their service was on point. This place is wonderful!! I just went last night for dinner and the whole experience was great. Such a small place hidden in Tomball, a hidden gem!! Great service and very generous portions. The owner of this place is so sweet! She really made sure we were taken care of. We started with egg rolls and spring rolls, both came out fairly quickly and were super yummy! The spring rolls were a little bigger than your average, I think. Definitely worth the money. We ordered pho, wonton soup with egg noodles and lo mein. The small pho bowls were actually quite big and very filling, and the lo mein had a lot of meat with noodles. All of it was super hot, fresh and delicious, generous portions. We ended with macaroons and boba. Taro coconut with boba and avocado with boba - I'm pretty sure they used mostly fresh ingredients for both smoothies and they were so rich and creamy. Overall I'm not impressed and will not be back for a second visit. Prior to going, I read a lot of mixed reviews on this establishment, so I decided to try it for myself. They do not have a lunch menu with lunch prices. I ordered chicken curry with steamed rice and an iced tea to go since I was pressed for time. The food itself was decent, but definitely not exceptional, and not what I expected. The rice had zero flavor, and the curry was ok, but not as creamy or as spicy as you would expect, and the chicken and vegetables were cut in such giant pieces that it made it very hard to eat without taking it out and cutting it first. The restaurant itself was very dirty (see photos of the kitchen doors & walls in seating area), the floor was sticky, and the place just had a general unkempt appearance. On top of all of that, none of the staff wore masks or gloves, and that includes the woman taking orders up front as well as the kitchen staff. I was pretty disappointed and would not recommend this place despite all of the awards they have on the dirty walls. read more
