Callie's Kitchen is hands down a vegan gem in Tomball and I am so glad I finally got to try it. From the moment the food hit the table you could tell everything was made with intention fresh ingredients and real care for flavor. On top of that the customer service was top tier. The staff was friendly welcoming and attentive which made the experience even better. I ordered the Houston Street Tacos and they were amazing. Two large organic tacos filled with jackfruit and quinoa that were perfectly seasoned and very satisfying. They were topped with avocado tomato marinated cabbage and a house turmeric queso that brought everything together so well. The side of kreamy kale sauce was a standout too and I found myself dipping every bite into it. To drink I had the Organic Mango Hibiskus Lemonade made with house brewed hibiscus and pure organic mango. It was refreshing not too sweet and tasted incredibly fresh easily one of the best lemonades I have had. My friend ordered the Orange Buffalo Tahini Cauliflower and it was packed with flavor. The cauliflower was roasted just right tossed in a bold orange buffalo sauce drizzled with tahini and topped with roasted cashews and sesame seeds over seasoned jasmine rice. She also had the Catalina Rolls which were crispy hearty and filled with fresh cabbage herbs and house taco meat and they were so good. She also tried the Heal All of the Rainforest Pau D'Arco Latte which was warm earthy and comforting. It is made with Peruvian Pau D'Arco heirloom cacao ashwagandha catuaba bark cinnamon maple syrup and almond milk and it truly felt like wellness in a cup. Everything we tried was flavorful filling and never felt heavy. Whether you are vegan plant based or just love good food Callie's Kitchen is absolutely worth a visit. The flavors and textures complimented each other so well while being vegan and organic. the hummus which was homemade was rich and perfect. While it was on the expensive side for the meal ranging about 50$ for two meals, appetizer and drinks. It was not a bad price for the food amount given with enough to make leftovers. I was out in Tomball looking for somewhere to eat. Oh what a blessing it was to find this gem. Just to start with it's very cozy dining space. The owners are great and love what they do. We drove 30 minutes to visit this restaurant. We showed up around 4:30pm (it says they close at 6). Tthe door was open and the open sign was present. A lady standing at the register told us the kitchen closed 2 hours prior then directed us to a fridge for a packaged meal to warm up in the microwave. They were small and didn't seem appetizing. BUT I decided it was best to share my experiences I've had with Callies husband, the rude man that runs the front of the restaurant or sometimes sitting out on the porch with his why are you here type of look on his face! Guys be prepared because if you ask him a question he will try and ruin your day by his rude response so protect your energy field! Let me start off by saying I hated vegan food when I was in LA- now I drive in from the city to pick up my meals from Callie twice a week and only eat vegan. If your scared and worried about what to get don't be- miss Callie DOES NOT MISS!!! Everything is lick your fingers good I mean even the little cracker she serves with her soups are so dang good. Creamed cabbage and potatoes with Eggplant sausage. It was piping hot and delicious. The dish had both white and purple cabbage. Eggplant sauce was herb filled and flavorful. A pinch just a pinch of salt to the cabbage would have open my salivary glands open even more. But pairing each bite with the sausage achieved that! Their menu changes weekly. To say that this place is good would be an insult because this place is greatness and needed in an overindulged carnivorous society. My son and I stopped off here yesterday because he's vegan and we were on our way out of town and it was sort of in route. I always have a weakness for houses turned businesses and that already set the tone for me. The workers were extremely nice and helpful and the food was epic!! We tried the street corn pasta salad, super bar, and some peanut butter balls concoction and everything was AMAZING!! This is probably one of the best vegan places I've had in the Greater Houston area and tomball should be proud and embrace this place to the fullest.
