Tonkotsu black ramen

I went during lunch hour with a friend and we got one of the last tables. It is fairly busy but not many people were waiting in line after we were seated. The service was ok, make sure you write the number or the item on the sheet on the table or else the serving staff will never take your order.. on the decor side of things, it was pretty plain other than the extravagant cash area. Nothing to race or complain about & it seemed clean. I tried the ramen (which was more expensive than the online price) because I had heard that the chef from Sansotei switched to this restaurant. The ramen was very delicious! The broth was very yummy but the presentation wasn't as nice as the ramen is at Sansotei. The pork was good but could have melted in my mouth more. Lastly, the egg was good but somehow one of my yolks got lost in the soup :( Overall, I'd go back to have more ramen as it's cheaper than down the street & less busy!

Had a delicious lunch here after looking at the reviews I decided to give it a chance. Reviews don't do this place justice. I ordered a #54 bun vermicelli with chicken. Seriously it was just as a Vietnamese bun should be. Fresh, light tasty, lots of flavour and filling but not listing like a brick in your tummy. Adding the nuoc mam and a bit of sriracha zipped it up even more! The day day I visited the restaurant filled up quite quickly with it's location for much of the business and government crowd of Centretown Ottawa. Browsing around many people were enjoying big generous soup bowls of pho and other items. I was going to order a Vietnamese coffee and extra spring rolls but found their pricing a bit expensive. Definitely a place I'd return to as my experience was nothing but two thumbs up. If you haven't eaten Vietnamese you should totally give it a try it's one of my go to meals for lunch or dinner. Never to heavy and fresh and delicious.

I ordered shrimp summer rolls which were very good and the dipping sauce was excellent. I also ordered a large bowl of seafood Pho soup. Broth was very tasty; came with all the typical sides/condiments, Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, etc. my only complaint is there should have been more seafood than I got. Mostly noodles and very stingy on the important stuff. I will say a large is pretty big though. Unless you're really hungry, I'd stick with a medium bowl. Service was good and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. The menu also looked pretty good. I definitely will be back to try something different.

Great place to have pho. It was super yummy and fresh I got my typical chicken noodle soup with vegetables. Good service. I had a great time eating here. I would go back here again.

Authentic Vietnamese Pho House - B009 vermicelli bowl with grilled shrimp and spring roll

Authentic Vietnamese Pho House

Mid week, lunchtime, first time. Had always been curious to eat here. Grabbed a neighbour to come…read morewith, also her first time and we had a nice meal. The place was very steady but we got one of the few remaining tables. The menu has a lot on it and there is another, separate menu for specials. The complimentary herbal tea was nice and hot for a very cold day. Ordered was a pho for me, extra spicy and my friend got a beef and veg dish and they subbed her noodles for rice upon her request and accommodated her peanut allergy. The food was good, also. I ordered us shrimp spring rolls to start, 2 to an order. Very good. $6. The entrees... My broth was nice, albeit mild. Not that clovey taste I've experienced at other places. My pho had shrimp, beef and chicken. It was a house specialty so it only came in a medium size. This was fine as I ordered extra noodles for $2.50 to go and had some at home for dinner tonight. And, it will feed me for lunch one more time tomorrow. The containers were leak proof and the liquid survived the drive home. The staff were unobtrusive yet attentive and kind. Said to be family owned and that everything is homemade. I'll return! I love Vietnamese food and love supporting these places. I will avoid weekends though as I was told people are lined up at the door for seating. Was it the best I have ever had? No but it fit the bill and I'm glad I live close by as there are 100 other dishes I'd like to try.

Found this place on Yelp and a good star rating and I was happy with the results. It's located at a large strip mall quite a ways away in Barrhaven - hence the name. Grabbed takeout at 8:15pm and it was good. Got 2 orders of spring rolls which were still very crispy when we got back from the 20 min drive. A little on the greasy side but they had fried it up fresh. The house special combo had shrimp, beef, pork and chicken - a decent amount of protein and tasty. A somewhat small restaurant but still had a few tables of patrons at that time. The staff were nice. Plenty of parking.

While parking, I searched the strip mall to find a spot for me to order food. Barrhaven Vietnamese Restaurant popped out among all the other chains. I called in an order for pickup. When I arrived the place was moderately busy, but i was greeted immediately. The restaurant itself is very cute and cozy. I will definitely be back for lunch or dinner. As we were walking out, my children noticed someone eating pho and even requested we come back. I ordered the Vermecelli with chicken and I am so grateful I did. There was so much chicken and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Even the salad was green and fresh, along with cucumber that had been cut into tiny strips. It also came with two fried spring rolls. I prefer regular spring rolls, but they were delicious, very crispy and flakey. I prefer my vermecelli completely mixed, so I added the dressing, shut the takeout box, and shook it up. This made it easier to have noodles, greens, and chicken with every bite. I was too hungry to think to take a photo, but will add some on future visits. Definitely recommend and will absolutely be back!

I've been on the search for a good banh canh after having the most amazing one in Vietnam. However,…read moreit has been a hard search because most places don't sell this item so I came here just for this item. It was good compared to others I've tried but still missing a flavor in the broth. Service was quick. The guy who gave us the menus handed us with a paper to write down our order but didn't speak which was fine because we understood what we had to do. Everything was cooked as we ordered and the vegetable spring rolls were amazing and piping hot when they came out. We couldn't even eat/touch them until our main dishes came out. They were also quick to refill our waters as well. Interestingly enough, the guy who handed us our menus actually finally spoke perfect English when we went to pay. This was a good local spot which consist of actual Vietnamese owners/cooks. There was also a group of Vietnamese ladies who were definitely regulars.

The beef was really tender and flavourful. I did get a fatty and gristley piece though :( but on the most part, the beef was lean. The chicken was lean and a tiny bit dry, but still flavourful a tasty. The shrimp were medium sized and ok. Not that plump nor juicy, but for the price, not surprising. The spring roll was mostly wrapper and too oily for my liking. The rice dish came with fresh cucumbers and pickled radishes and pickled carrots. The vermicelli dish came with shredded lettuce and bean sprouts, which were underneath the vermicelli. It also came with pickled carrots and crushed peanuts. The fresh vegetables were fresh and the picked vegetables had a good sour bite to them. We also got a tub of fish sauce, which neither of us like, but my dad does, so I saved it and gave it to him on the weekend when I went to see my parents. I appreciated that they labelled the fish sauce with a warning to open slowly (with a smiley face, lol). Food is packed in styrofoam, which is not my preference for environmental and health reasons. Service was very courteous and efficient. I was told it would be 25 minutes. I returned in 22 minutes and they were just tying up the bag. Perfect timing! Note that the prices on their takeout menu (pictured) are outdated. My dishes were listed as $9.50 each on the menu, but I was charged $11.75, which is still a great deal. Prices have gone up as a result of the Covid Pandemic, so I get it. I would just suggest that they print new takeout menus. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path in Chinatown. Street parking only.
