I have had every local pho joint within a 20 miles radius. Have legitimately probably tried about 30 different places, old and new. Stretching from malden, to chinatown- theres like 3 in malden square alone. I cannot give a full menu review, but as far as soups and fresh spring rolls go, saigon noodle is hands down the BEST. I cannot believe this place has a 3 star rating. For those of you who are a pho-obsessed like me- you probably know what kind of soup youre looking for. These soups do not have that super sweet hoisin taste, they are super rich in flavor, noodles are cooked well, meat is decent. In leu of a fair review, good and bad, ive had better juicier chicken(for the soups) at other places, but those places lack so far behind in every other category that the (still decent) chicken in the soups here at saigon is greatly outweighed by the rest of the perfection it brings to the table. Plus its only the chicken, so if u get beef soup, or any other soup, the chicken problem is pretty null and void. the bean sprouts are always fresh, never brown, and the service is great- usually one man waiting, I believe his name is Tanh, but either way; he's the man. He has offered me complimentary waters when its hot, and is super attentive. Sometimes there are 2 other women that serve too, i think one is Tanh's aunt and one his mother, and one of the two is the owner. Im not really sure who is who, but this is a tight little family owned restaurant and they make sure their customers are happy... one day i forgot my cash and the owner bought me my soup. The next time i came in i obviously paid her back but this gesture spoke volumes. This place is just great. Weekdays until 3pm is lunch special- you get a soup spring roll and drink for like $7.50... that is epic. You really cant beat this place. The first time i came here i tried it with an open mind as another place on my search for the ultimate bowl of pho, and now im a regular. Ive been here up to 3 times a week. As of now, and for the past 5+ years, saigon noodle is #1 on my list. read more

As a local to malden, i think this place is great. Dont get me wrong, its a basic restaurant with no frills. The service is good and the tables are clean. The pho is great, large portions and inexpensive. Broth is beefy and very clean tasting. I've had the curry here too. It's a bit sweet for my taste but my wife likes it. I totally recommend coming out here. Plus if you come for the lunch menu, meal comes with a can of soda and spring roll. read more

Used to be a nice restaurant but I think they changed owner and only two people working now. One in front and one in kitchen. Gave it two stars because food is still good but the service is very slow and the server does not remember people's orders. Unless you have patience to wait, don't go there. read more

TERRIBLE!!! Everything in this place is terrible. The food is horrible and salty. As if that isn't bad enough - they only accept cash and the sign that says that is in an obscure corner that you are sure to miss. The service is poor. Please spare yourself the trouble read more

This is the kind of pho restaurant Ali Wong jokes about. Genuine, excellent food, excellent prices, but not the kind of restaurant where you expect to be babied by the staff. My go to pho restaurant in Malden, time and time again. read more

Best place or lunch. Good deals. The vermicelli dishes are simple and flavorful. The soups are good too. Lunch here meant that I felt good (read not drowsy) and productive for the rest of the day!!! read more

Best Pho i have ever had. Service is always good get the Spring rolls and they always cater to a big group or kids when we bring them. I have gone later in the evening and early mornings and have always had good service and the best food A+ read more

Let me start with, I hate to write a negative review about an Asian restaurant as I like to support the small Asian businesses being from Lowell. This place has good pho-the large bowl looks like a small or medium size but was good enough for seven dollars she did charge me eight dollars though not sure why? When we walked in at 6 PM Wednesday night it was dead besides one American Couple checking out when the owner told them that it was cash only and they could go to the ATM. There's no listing on the door of cash only and even the credit card symbols on the door- so they got cash- When I checked out there with another white guy going to pay for his takeout and then they accepted his credit card! So, aside from all of the shady business it was a swealtering minimum of 90° by the end of my dinner I was sweating all over and it was embarrassing dinner date! Decent pho but wouldn't go back to the super hot restaurant with poor service. I am use to decent service at an asian restaurant but this was almost borderline rude. Very much a lack of ambiance too- no tv, no music, and no customers! So silence! read more

Our waiter was a sad excuse for the restaurant biz. He got our "COCONUT JUICE" order wrong and gave us coconut shakes instead. Instead of being apologetic and exchanging our order, he just barked "YOU ORDERED IT THAT WAY, I ALREADY ASKED U WHEN I TOOK YOUR ORDER!"....uhhh, maybe you need a couple more ESL classes to get it right? dude is a Sad excuse for a staff member, I over tipped you cuz u clearly need the money to go buy a personality! It's ppl like him that set my ppl back 20years!!! I will never go back there again...O, and this place is CASH only...I'm sure that has nothing to do with the books you cook with your pho broth. I hope Pho Hoa across the street puts you out of business! PHOget this place...Good riddance JERK-la! read more

We were at this place for the first time and then we ordered 2 dishes one was seafood noodle soup and grilled pork over rice. Those came very late, they served food before drinks. By the time that we were eating we found a piece of fabric which was look like burned of the meat but it was not. They were not even be responsible for this piece of sh**t and they charged us for the full price, we couldnt even finish it. And the last, we asked for the check but the server told us the price while he was standing back of the counter and we had to walk to the counter and paid for it. Actually we want to give no star to this restaurant but yelp allows us to give at least one star for reviewing. No wonder why this restuarant didnt have any customer when we were there. Hopefully health inspector wont go to check for this restaurant in a couple days. Good luck for this restaurant and hope you doing well in this business (: read more

The food is good. I like to have wonton soup there. Today, I ordered the same wonton soup but got surprised that I had to pay for a plastic takeout container. I don't think that any one like to pay hidden fee which would be the same as takeout container. If there is any reason and need to charge for it, they should let the customer know when they order. read more

Tried Saigon Noodle this weekend. Not bad, but in comparison, I like Pho #1 in woburn better and Pho 99 in Malden up the street better.. I got the chicken pho and my wife got the steak. The chicken was real good, but the beef was kind of bland. Service was kind of pissy too. Won't go back. too many better options. read more

the noodles here is nothing out of the ordinary. the amount of beef they give you is very little, i think i got 2 pieces of rare steak once. the soup base is okay. service is close to none. on a random note, they change their flower arrangements every so often and it matches with the chopsticks. read more

I came here on an extremely cold winter night and the place was quite busy. I took that as a sign that the pho would be awesome. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I ended up being disappointed. The broth seemed a bit oiler than what I'm used to in pho, and it wasn't as flavorful. Don't get me wrong, though -- it wasn't bad food. I wouldn't have a problem coming back if I was in the Malden area and craving pho, but if a drive over to the Vietnamese section in Chinatown was an option, I'd prefer to have pho at Pho Hoa there instead. read more

I got the beef vermicelli to go. It was ok, but not great. It certainly didn't have enough of the fresh vegetables that should have been there, and it was mostly noodles. I thought it was overpriced for what it was. read more

So I guess the owner guy might have a crush on my GF. When I went with her to eat there, he was nice to her, but acted like I didn't exist...and later I had a horrible stomachache for over a week. So warning to all of you who have girlfriends who the owner have crushes on: enter at your own risk. And the guy took a very long time to give back my credit card. So god knows what he was doing with it. read more

I am a regular here, about 4x's a month. My favorite dish is Bun Rieu (a crab meat based noodle soup dish) There spring rolls (fresh rolls with peanut sauce) is very good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because there are some dishes I crave from a viet restaurant that they don't carry. The service portions are large and you definitely get your money's worth. The lady waitress' are very pleasant. read more

I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I ordered an avocado shake and vermicelli noodles with pork and egg roll. 30 minutes later they still did not make the shake. They handed me a bowl of chicken and vegetables and I told them that is not what I ordered. Nobody speaks a word of English. The few people eating there were all not happy because nobody got the food they ordered. They never gave me the right food so I walked out of the restaurant. SPEAK ENGLISH OR HIRE SOMEONE THAT DOES. WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MT LIFE. DO NOT EVEN WALK IN THE DOOR!!! read more

Food are okay. But I just wish he would just show us our bill when it's time to pay instead of just telling us how much we owe. Smh there's times where I feel like I'm being charged extra. read more

This was my first time having pho, and I must say it was pretty good but not something I'd write home about. For those who've never tried it, it's Vietnamese style noodle soup with either beef, chicken or seafood. This place is conveniently located in Malden Center so it's T accessible and there's actually a decent amount of on-street parking on the side street around the corner. They give you a lot of soup for a little money. I ordered a small and I could barely finish it, I'd hate to see what a large - or god forbid an extra large - looks like. But it's only $6-$7 for a bowl that's chock full of noodles, pieces of meat, and a hearty broth. They brought out a plate of bean sprouts piled with more than enough for all three of our soups. The service was decent, we didn't wait too long for them to take our order, to receive our soup and to receive the check, but they more or less ignored us otherwise - no "how is everything?" or coming to refill our water, but not horrible service. Just mediocre. The exact opposite of the Thai restaurant Tom Yum Koong I reviewed where even the owner comes over to every guest to see how they're doing. It is cash onl;y but there is an ATM right across the street so it's only a minor annoyance. It does make it easier to split the bill when you go with a group if you're forced to have cash LOL. My friends ordered from this place all the time and they love it, but I have heard a lot of mixed reviews. I guess they have a lot of off days. Be wary of this if you're in the area and willing to try this, but if you're there on a good day, you're going to get a lot of soup for a reasonable price. read more

I think the food is pretty good and the food comes very fast. However, they charge extra for to-go option and no credit-card.

I sometimes order take out from here whenever I crave vietnamese noodles with decent quality/amount of tofu and vegetable. I always order the same dish so I don't know about other dishes, but the one I always order is decent for the money. Economical, and tasty enough. Quick prep too. I don't eat in here because one of the staffs makes me uncomfortable (haha, there is another review of this restaurant somewhat along that line). read more

I went to Saigon Noodles today and it was my first and LAST visit to the place. I only went there because one of my friends wanted to go there while the others and I wanted to go to the other pho place called Pho Hoa, but since both restaurants served pho, it didn't really matter to me and so I went to Saigon Noodles. It was the worse decision I made. I only have 1 hour to eat since we were going to go back to school to take exams. I spent 1 HOUR, just sitting there and waiting for my food to come to me. My other friends ordered the same dish as me yet they got it earlier than I did. I asked the waiter when my food was going to come, he just kept telling soon, soon. Yet soon never comes. I only had 15 minutes to get back to school and I told the waiter to just cancel my order because I have no time to even eat it anymore. Just when I was about to leave, the waiter comes with my food. I MEAN SERIOUSLY NOW?? I already told the waiter to cancel my order and then he comes back with my order. Their customer services just upsets me and I NEVER will go back there again. Sat there for 1 hour and in the end I still didn't get food into my stomach. They gave me the WORSE experience I have gotten. I am not a very picky person on food as long as it comes to me, I will be a happy person, but their services was too bad. I didn't enjoy my time there when I saw my friends eat their food and I was just sitting hoping mines will come soon. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone who is in a hurry to go. If you're someone who doesn't mind waiting for 1-2 hours for your food to come to you, then go ahead with this place. If not, I SERIOUSLY won't recommend this place for you. read more
