What a cool spot! We were walking around looking for a late night bite and we stumbled on this place in a parking lot. They have booths for the various vendors and they allow you to bring your own drinks. People were eating and singing karaoke, the service was great, and best of all, the food hits real hard. They have one of the better fish sauces that isn't too fishy, so non-Viet people can enjoy it too. The scallops were delicious, papaya salad was solid and the people working here were very friendly.

Stopped by Saigon Grill and tried the Dubai-inspired pistachio crunch chocolate. This was good. The texture was amazing -- creamy pistachio filling, rich chocolate, and a really solid crunch. Not overly sweet either. $27 after tax.

Similar to food truck stop. Viet food, looks like crab is their specialty. Oxtail pho was very good, meat tender off bone, soup tasty with rice noodle. Bean sprouts were wilted or old. Beef plate was good, tender cubes. Service was good, external tables with cover for rain or heavy sun. Ambiance none as this is mainly like a picnic. Overall, 3 stars out of 4.

I usually steer clear of food trucks, but this one immediately caught my attention. Curious, I walked up and asked what was fresh that evening. A friendly woman showed me a steaming bowl of soup that looked absolutely delicious. I gave it a try--and I'm glad I did. The soup came with a generous spread of condiments: lemon, water spinach, and a punchy shrimp paste with chili. The broth was bold and rich with deep seafood flavors--every spoonful revealed layers of crab, shrimp, minced pork, and cubes of pig's blood tofu, all nestled over silky white udon noodles. I sat at one of eight clean tables under a charming awning, strung with colorful lanterns that made me feel like I was back in Vietnam. The menu is impressively extensive, and I'm already looking forward to returning to try more!

Scammin liar. He told me a big plate of food would be 22 dollars and 3 seconds later when paying he changed it to 32 dollars and there wasn't that much food. Don't go here

We stumbled upon this place after looking for late night restaurants after attending First Friday at Capitol Modern in Downtown. We initially were planning to go to Sura just around the corner, but was too impatient to wait. So we ended up walking to the food trucks to explore other options. I've been curious about this place for a while and was only able to come here for the first time. FOOD -- I ordered a combination pho. The pho was overall ok, but I feel like I've had richer tasting broth elsewhere. I probably wouldn't get the pho again, but I am open to ordering another dish from the menu. I also find that the prices here are on the higher end. I felt like the portion of the food does not reflect the price. Sugarcane juice costs $8.99, which is pricier than what I would pay. SERVICE -- The workers are friendly. One of them wiped down the table for me when I sat down. AMBIANCE -- This place is located on an empty (parking?) lot across the Hawaii Convention Center. There are two other food trucks in the lot. Saigon Grill is the biggest one. It is painted in pastel pink tones and sakura flowers. There are bench-style seating right infront of the trucks. Brightly-lit and decorated. I like how breezy it was while I was eating. Review for service received on August 1, 2025.

Great seafood options, loved the food here whenever I come! Got the snails, scallops, fried rice, and crab!

Came here because we were craving Vietnamese food, my goodness with place was FREAKEN AMAZING!! Cooked by actual Vietnamese people, the clams are so sweet and fresh even drank the lemon grass soup that it was in!! The crawfish was delicious literally smothered in garlic goodness, should've ask for a bit spicer. The drinks was just right not too sweet. The owner was sweet enough to talk to us and have a good convo about his food! Love it when people are just good people and like to converse ! Would recommend to any one who loves Vietnamese street style food. I'm really sad I didn't order more things to try, probably will come back tomorrow. Came back three days in a row and ended up trying a few noodle dishes and shrimp!! Would love different dipping options though, salt pepper and lime is just a suggestion. Outdoor seating with overhead coverage in a cute little lot!

    * This review is only for their sugarcane juice. I didn't get any food. I heard that they sell sugarcane juice. I love sugarcane juice, so I had to give it a try. A cup of cane juice goes for $8.99, so not bad. They have a lot of sugarcane juice combos. I opted to try their lychee cane. It was so good. It had bits of lychee jelly on the bottom and two pieces of canned lychee. As much as I liked the lychee version, the pure sugarcane juice is still my fave. This is a food truck. It's parked on Kapiolani Blvd. right next to the ramp going up to Hawaiian Brian's.

Food is overpriced and poor quality. Seafood is not fresh as advertised. We spent $60 on a small dungeon crab, took one bite and threw the whole crab away. The "butter garlic" sauce was really sweet and crab barely had any meat. For a $30 Conch mango salad, all you get is lot of onion, very little mango, maybe 4 thin slices of conch, and very stale shrimp chips. Our whole dinner tonight was $160 for 4 dishes and 2 sugarcane drink. I am upset because I feel like I've been fooled by all 4-5 star reviews and TikToKers. I had high hopes and it was such a huge disappointment.

Garlic Butter Sea Snail. I think I'd prefer escargot. This is too small.
    Rebecca T.

Finally got to try this place! It's pretty good but I think the prices could be better for the quantity and quality of food. We tried their snails, curry crab and dynamite scallops. Their snails were quite tiny and couldn't taste much of the meat flavor. The sauce didn't really stick to the meat so it's a little bland. The curry crab was delicious! The curry sauce went so well with rice! But the crab was small and not very sweet. The dynamite scallops didn't look anything like the photo, also it didn't taste that good. It's more mayo than anything. And the quality of the scallop wasn't that good. I think the idea of having so much seafood dish was great! I just hope the dishes stood out more. Their curry crab was good but I know other places make decent ones too. The seating area had nice ambiance lighting. It's a cool spot to hang out with friends at night, eat and drink.

It came with three sides so I got cole slaw, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Cole slaw and Mac and cheese were solid; Potato salad was just alright. They also gave one warm bun too. The reason I gave 3 stars was because service was extremely slow. It seemed like they were short staff and had one person at the cash register AND getting the food. He would take a few orders, and then grab the food. When I arrived, he was grabbing food for multiple folks so then I stood there waiting like 15 just to place my order. Then when he restarted and took my order, he took like 5 more orders before grabbing the food so then I waited even longer for another 15 min. That's 30 min of waiting! Also he wasn't serving food in the order that orders were received so it felt actually felt even longer. There needs to be a better system! Surprisingly he did a employee discount on my order. Now I've had a lot of these in my life, and I must say, Iyasume are easily the best. See musubi and onigiri have humble origins as a quickly made homespun snack or on the go lunch, and when you spot them in the convenience environment they're often a giant ball of rice with a tinge of protein or seasoning for flavor. At Iyasume, these are culinary adventures, stacked with ingredients, all in handheld form, and the variety they offer is IMPRESSIVE! Of course musubi starts with the classic, SPAM. However, after having to abandon our original dinner plans, we were no less intrigued after randomly stumbling across this place. While they may not have been our first choice for dinner, coming here was far more appealing than eating fast food or at the nearby IHOP! Although seeing so many folks at this mini food truck park may have been what caught our attention, it was the boxes of fried chicken on nearly every table that swayed us to try Waikiki Chicken in Paradise in particular. After skimming the menu, it wasn't hard to see why they were such a popular choice - everything on it sounded great. Granted, that's not overly difficult when there are only eight items to choose from, but tough to argue with the likes of fried chicken loco moco, fried chicken curry rice, fried chicken sandwiches, chicken & croffle, and fish & chips! Since we saw how big the portion were and didn't want anything too heavy (read: sadly, no loco moco or Japanese curry), we opted to split a FRIED CHICKEN RICE PLATE ($16.95) which came with a Fried Chicken Cutlet over White Rice with Mac Salad & Green Salad. Funny enough, despite already having a sense of how much food they give, I was still surprised by the generous portion size. As for how it all tasted, this was great. The breading on the chicken reminded me of Popeye's (though, without the spice), the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was rather moist. As for the sides, the mac salad was pretty good, but the salad was a little heavy on dressing. If there was one thing I could change about our order, I think I'd want to see how it would taste with a sauce or glaze. At the very least, I'd definitely go with a different dipping sauce, like their Pineapple Ginger, Lilikoi Mayo, or Guava BBQ, as the Honey Mustard we went with tasted a bit generic. Of course, we could've solved both problems if we had gone with the Fried Chicken Loco Moco or Fried Chicken Curry Rice instead! I guess I'll just have to wait until the next time I'm in Waikiki!
